I have weapons (staff and d/d), amulet, and both rings celestial, everything else is zerker.
My stats are 3.2k attack, 42% crit chance, 75% crit dmg, 2.1k armor, 15k life w/o wvw buff. (30/0/0/20/20)
Weps and armor are not ascended, yet.
I think that the stats are pretty good, and i didn’t see much difference in dmg, when i had zerker weps and exotic zerker trinkets.
Anet change it a few months ago. Now if you put a condition, you enter in combat even if it does not do damage. I hate this btw.
IMO none of the skills pressed before go down should activate downed skill, and vice versa. Playing as elementalist i often enter in vapor form because i was spamming #2 skill. And as engineer, i get knocked down because of the #4 rifle skill, right before i spam bandage while downed.

And stealth reduces the damage you take the condition damage cause as i know you can lose conditon when going in stealth.
Because of a trait, not stealth.
After the new patch Transmute will convert one condition into a boon each 15s. I have Leg Mods on my 30/10/0/10/20 build. Mostly i play in PvE, and mobs do not spam movement impairing conditions, thats why i think that swap this 5 points is a good idea.

Good DPS PvE builds that are truly in the spirit of what an Elementalist does best don’t use staff. If you would like trait advice, see Neko’s and Zel’s guides which are stickied at the top of this forum. Neko focuses on Scepter-hammer but has a bit about staff, Zel focuses on Dagger/Focus. Both provide relatively high DPS builds that also bring a lot of utility to a party.
Condition damage Ele’s are not very strong in PvE, so just aim for full zerk armor + a full set of superior runes of the scholar or superior runes of the ranger. If you have problems surviving, use a mix of knight chest, helm, and pants with zerk everything else.
Why do you think that everyone should play the same way you do?
The game offers a good number of options and anyone is able to choose whatever they want. OP asked for help about staff, if you don’t like, do not come here to say to not use that.
Staff offers way more utility than the D/D build that everyone plays. You guys ask Anet for more viable builds, but keep your mind closed to the builds that already can be used. Staff is a ranged weapon, but you can switch to LH or FGS to do great damage in melee range. You have good heals at low cooldown, and can keep fire field up all the time.
I create my Ele to play with Fire build: VI, VII (VIII for dungeons), XII (XI for dungeons, if there is someone who can keep fire field up).
20 points in Arcana for V, VIII, and the spare 20 points you can put where you find more useful. I like 20 in Water for the Cantrips recharge, but as Cleansing Wave will be a Master trait, i’m not sure what to do after dec 10th.

Yeah, it’s not working.
I thought that the bonuses should linger are the Fire (20% chance to burn melee foes), Air (10% MS), Earth (80 Armor), Water (Soothing Mist), but only the Water one refresh after you leave that attunement.
Fire i couldn’t test, and Air i didn’t notice any difference. Earth adds 80 armor when attuned, but you lose this after switch attunement.

On my game i have F2 set to 0 (Naga #10), F3 to – (#11) and F4 to = (#12).
F1 is set to E, because this is the only key i use as Thief, Warr and Necro.
Move your Elite to another key, and everything else you can use on kb or mouse.
As a Staff Ele, what should i use in Water Adept now?
I can’t apply vulnerability on all enemies in WvW to make Piercing Shards useful. And even if there is engies, fire/earth are better in zerg fights.

Since the last patch, mostly the today’s fix, i’m having a huge lag skill. My characters keep attacking and nothing happens, then after 10 seconds, they throw all the skills at the same time.
And after all that, the game keeps disconnecting every 20 minutes.

In other words, people who already paid their 100-119g for the human tier 3 cultural set have been gipped, badly. Other people can get a better looking set for 70% of the cost. On top of it all, insult is added to injury because the tier 3 human cultural armor is available to all other races.

About the “work” you had to get the normal T3, don’t you think that some people had it too to get the 65g to buy the Flamekissed armor?
I would pay 150g or 2000 gems for it, but probably there is someone that spent all his gold to buy the 800 gems, the same way that you did for the 119g + stones.

Sorry, 1,500 gems + 240 for the 6 transmutation stones it takes for normal T3 to transmute over to exotic stats. So that’ll be 1,740 gems plus whatever you deem worthy of those flames, or else I’d just be normal T3.

Helm expecially.I’m not going to question your tastes on what makes armor exciting or boring, but just because you find an armor set boring doesn’t mean you don’t have options, you obviously choose not to buy the normal T3, but the fire-themed copy paste armor sparked your interest, charging you 11-FFFFTTTT.. wait, not 119g, like half that amount, was it 63g or something? See where it becomes inconsistent?
Also the amount of gems paid isn’t the only thing wrong with Flamekissed, it’s still cultural armor in the gemstore. Notice how nobody is really complaining about the flamed up Pit Fighter set, maybe about the WvW invader’s reskin, but most have an issue with cultural armor sold to all races. It would be great if all races could wear eachother’s cultural armor, but then why call it cultural armor?
I wish cultural reputation titles from GW1 were in GW2, or something along the lines of “impress this race, get privileges to buy their cultural armor.”

I have a norn with 2 pieces of T3 heavy armor, and i realy don’t care if they sell this for other classes, because it looks great on norns, but may look kitten in asuras or charrs. Same with the Flamekisser that look crap in fat norns and charrs.
The uproar is about nonhumans being able to keep the flame skin. There are many of us with human characters that applied the new flame skin to our existing human T3 armor. With the new change not only will we be losing out on the skin we purchased with gems, but we will also lose the T3 armor skin that we purchased with gold.
The solution is simple, allow human characters that have already applied the new flame skin to keep that skin.
Please consider this.

If there is ever going to be an upgrade for my culturals I’d hate to see some lazy glow added… Instead I’d like to see more detailed armors, using more fabrics, more layers, more “realistic” details, not some glow paint here and there like any junior designer can do. Any free to play korean game has that… but detailed armors? you won’t find that in many games

Don’t you guys understand? All of us complained about flamekissed armor NOT because we didn’t like it, but because it was UNFAIR to us, who have spent all the effort and grind to get the original cultural T3, not to mention who made human characters, even though story wise we’d prefer to play a Norn or Sylvari. For some of us getting the 130 gold is a much bigger challenge than spending 10 bucks.Keeping the old flamekissed set would ONLY be ok if owners of cultural armors would be given an adequate reimbursement, but then the question would arise: what would be an adequate reimbursement? For sure I’d expect a lot more than I could be offered and the whine would never end.
What ANet did was the only reasonable course of action, and has restored my faith in their ability to realize when they have made a major mistake and even fix it.

I had HT3 medium for my engineer, and i replace it 1 month later for the Viper’s armor, feel free to look my messages and try to find any complain about it.
After reading more opinions on this matter, yeah… i no longer agree with the removal of this skin.
I never considered the fact that other players would then purchase dyes/ makeovers to fit with the armor yet alone replace existing rare skins. Those players who in good will supported this game are now being punished for making a purchase. These players are now facing the possibility of losing their original armor skin and any further investments they had made to their characters asthetics.
I find it funny how the exact same thing happened in another game and has been loved ever since (mostly). You know that hat i purchased, well now its an unusual with particle effects…better demand the removal of unusuals…oh wait.
Honestly i dont see why Anet dont just make an upgrade vendor, allow owners of the 100g set to trade in their parts + some gems. I would have loved to have seen reskins of the other T3 variants.

Yesterday i bought this armor and Self-Style Hair Kit spending gold, and Abyss dye for my new elementalist that i just start playing, because the armor fits the class.
Now they want to replace it, and looking the medium and heavy armor, i don’t have any hope it will look good.
This is why they can’t refund us properly.
At least they could keep the skin for human characters who already bought it.
If the reason to rework the skin is the price, ok, i can pay 110g + 6 transmutation stones, but i want the T3 human with fire effects. I wouldn’t even start playing as elementalist if i had not seen the armor in gem store.
I create an Ele only for the set. I dont want anything from gem store other than the armor that i bought already (it’s on the bank).

Well, my thief has Sig. of Shadows to run at 25%, but i bought traveler runes to free up on utility slot. And i did the same for my mesmer and do not regret.
60g is better than lose 1 utility slot or major trait.
I did notice that my engineer was running different, but i wasn’t sure. When you have a kit she runs like male characters, but when you have a stowed rifle, she used to run like any other female human, now she is running the same way as with kits.
I got my dire gear from CoE, and played for 1 week with this runes until sunday when i got my traveler runes, but i keep summoning golems, even w/o any rune of the golemancer.
Most of the time they do nothing, just spawn and stand still. And just like the illusions, they despawn after the enemy dies.
I hope you can fix that.

If you convert gold for gems right now, 800 will be like 56g. A full T3 set is 119g plus 6 Transmutation Stones, so you are complaining for nothing. Most of ppl can farm 56g in 2-4 days, and you’ll be using the armor for months.
Maybe they want us to use the weapons instead of only kits. =/
For now i would suggest you to take 10 points on the Tools trait line, for the Speedy Kits. It will not help you with damage, but will make you explore the map really fast, so leveling up faster too.
Thought it was my mouse, but i am probably having the same issue.
I did the same as you want. Granades, then Bombs, then Googles for stun break, and when you get Elixir Gun swap for the googles, and have a stun break on toolbelt. Always using zerker (mighty, strong, berserker) gear.
For heals, Elixir H, then Med Kit to clear condis, then Healing Turret, best heal skill IMO.
For the traits, 10 in Tools and get Speed Kits. Best thing to explore the map faster. Use Runes of Pack and/or Centaur for +swiftness%.
I don’t like playing with ranged professions in open world, as they aggro the mobs when i’m about to backstab, then i need to run after them. I think that an AoE medium/melee range as necro, guardian, and ele are good partners.
The day before tomorrow I solo’d an entire SERVER with my bombs. Sigh, bombs are still the same – just a bigger range doesn’t make them so much more powerfull then before. Damage is still the same, Combos are still the same.
Haha, but was in a low lvl area, the ogre camp in Plains of Ashford. With a bigger radius, you can kill more mobs on the same time, so it’s an increase to DPS.
Why don’t you think that every class should be good at everything?
So let’s make Warriors good at PvE only, Mesmers good at PvP only, Thiefs good at WvW only… yeah, makes sence. So everybody runs the same class in every game mode. Makes it a better game at all
But that’s exactly what is happening right now, being kicked from a 4 warrs group. All classes should be good at something, and complement the lack of others.
Why do you need to play 1600hrs with one profession instead of 200hrs with all 8?
I bought this game to play as thief, as i didn’t like the way rogue was implemented in WoW. But on the last 2 months, i played with him for less than 20% of the time. And i’m enjoing the game even more than when i started.

I don’t need to quote anything, that’s what i think. The game it’s not exclusive PvP or PvE, and it can have strong and weak points for both game modes. None class should be perfect on every scenarios. That’s why warrs must be nerfed. :P

I would like PW to be like it was until yesterday. It was perfectly fine.
So you want the bugged version, where you have 0.5 sec stun, but with a +10% stun duration you get 1 sec stun, not 0.55 as it should be?
I’m ok with that, since they do not change the initiative cost or damage.

You know, not everyone likes to play just PvE.
Because there are other options. S/D looks great in tPvP videos i’ve seen on yt. I’m not sure how it is now with the 50% nerf to boon steal though.
And in WvW D/P D/D works fine, as i’ve been playing.
What changes would you like to see on PW? I’m saying this because i don’t want that anet change the cast time to 1/4 with 1s stun, but increase the cost to 7, for example.
