Not to mention that i have a Guard, and i hate to have to carry a lot of weapons that i may or may not need them.

I run D/D SB in PvE, on dungeons i change to S/D, S/P, but i always have my SB on the 2nd loadout.

I have 5 classes, and SB for thief IMO is the best utility weapon in-game.
You have an “AoE” AA, another AoE with blast finisher, evade attack, a wide combo field, and the best teleport skill in-game.

If you go S/x, have a P/P can be good though.

False. Every skill is affected by the sigil.

But how do you explain the the use of two Sigils of Force in dual wield, and only one in a two-handed weapon? I always thought it was true, cause it would be unfair for 2h weapons.

Hi, i finally got one exotic pistol (i only used d/d s/d before), and i don’t know what sigil to use. Far as i know, reading the forum, etc, the sigil only helps the skills related to the weapon, that means, 3rd skill, daze and AoE blind. So what is the best sigil for it?

I’m playing with a FX-4100 and HD 6870 and it works fine. I’ve only seen problems in WvW and champ zergs.

I like it, i was tired of have almost 1m of poison on me. But for burning i don’t think it will make any diference, 15 sec (3s x5) of burning is almost death.

Just level up an Asura and transfer your equips. If you have cultural armor, keep it for one future human you might have.

This minor trait could be changed to reset the cooldown of your healing skill, and maybe drop blackpowder too.

And about the radius, you probably don’t know how much is 300 ingame. The largest AoE skill from SB has only 240 units.

I had the same difficult as you when start playing thief, he just couldn’t stand in melee range against normal mobs. But with P/P – SB it was much more easy to play. The first 10 points go to Critical Strikes, and then 10 to Acrobatics. At level 30 i go to Shadow Arts, and at 40 respec to 0/20/0/10/0.

When you are level 60, you get Hidden Killer (30 pts on Critical Strikes), then D/D becomes really useful, you can kill mobs with 2 hits.

My engie is only lvl 17 now, but i was going to use Backpack Regenerator on Master trait. HGH wouldn’t help me to get rid of conditions.
The healing is compared to the guardian virtue?

About this trait:
“Automated Response: Condition duration is reduced by 100% when health is below 25%.”

What exactly happens?
1. When my life fall below 25% i lose all conditions on me, but while below 25% can still be applied new conditions?
2. When below 25% i’m imune to conditions?
3. If a Necro has +100% condition duration, is that means i’ll have only 100% condition duration on me, ignoring his bonus?

So, i had completed my Monthly yeasterday, now they will fix it, or i should complete it again? (except for the Event Completionist)

With a non-critical hit? I don’t know if its possible, at least not with the traits and utilities needed to achieve 25 might.
And the damage was based on a target with heavy armor (2600).

I’m having the same problem here. A few hours ago i sold some items in TP, but now it shows the same msg.

It would change based on your traits, but with a common build, Crippling Strike could hit for 1.8k.
But, if you activate Assassin’s Signet to get 5 might + 10 from the other 2 Sigs. + might from steal + random might stacks from party members to get 25 you’ll lose some power but get 15% more damage. I think it would give you 2,4k damage with the last chain strike.

Do you want to counter stealthed thieves? Turn CCW when a thief CnD you.
Why? Most, if not all thieves, use #1 to backstab, as we need the ring finger to hit #1, only left the index finger to hold D, so strafing CCW around the target.
It will not always work, but mostly of times.

And stop crying, thief without stealth is a broken warrior.

My game is crashing everytime i sell one item on TP and try to sell another before it shows the “OK” button from the first sale.

I’m aware of how the skill damage is calculated. The propose of the topic was to know if i could have the best damage possible and survive without any points in Shadow Arts, and with 2k armor and 12k life. As no one mentioned it, i suppose this is more than enough to play in dungeons, fractals and lvl 80 maps, right?
About the armor upgrades, i’ll probably go with Ruby Orbs at first, then i change for runes if needed.

I bought the game 1 month ago to play as Thief, but at level 10-12 i gave up, found to hard to survive, even with a good damage. Then i switched to a Necro and faceroll every mob 2-5 level higher, but i got bored and started a Mesmer, hard class like thief, i leveled up her until level 47 then started a Guardian, another faceroll class, but i got bored too and came back to thief. Now he’s almost lvl 80 and its my main. After you get 4 Major Traits it starts to be more easy to play.

We already have shortbow for AoE support, no point having 2 weapons to do the same thing. Focus on improving P/P for single target ranged damage.

Shortbow’s utility is spreading weakness, mobility, and blast finishers.

Pistols would be AoE Vulnerability & Blinds.

How are these the same?

Shortbow can’t really spread weakness anymore, lotus poison trait got gutted. It’s good for ranged AoE damage primarily and for mobility.

Pistols most people use for ranged single target damage. I dunno anyone who use this to spread AoE vulnerability & blinds, I think you’re alone on that one.

You get Weakness from Poison Field + Blast Finisher, not because of the trait.
But i agree with your first comment, we already have SB to ranged AoE, pistol should keep doing the good single target DPS. Only Bodyshot needs to be fixed imo.

Edit: And maybe Headshot, because is kinda stupid you have a skill that shoots at the enemy head but do no damage.

As i play as thief and necro, F1 (E) is the only important F-key, and for my mesmer and guardian i hold Ctrl (Mouse 5) to use the shatter and virtue skills.

I initially had considered to use Sig. of Malice because i’d use other 2 sigs anyways, so it could give me a permanent LoH and a small heal with 12 sec cooldown, but the Withdrow looks like a good trade if i lose the boon Vigor.

About the runes, i really don’t know if i can survive with less than 2k armor and only 12k HP, so maintain my life upper 90% looks impossible, lol
I have a few golds, so i don’t want to waste it in some equips i’ll regret later.

The 15 in Acrobatics and Sig. of Shadows are just because i can’t play without them, but if you can suggest anything better i’d appriciate.

So, you are all complaining, but what you suggest to change the thief?

You can’t remove the invisibility. Whats the point of play as thief if you can’t stealth and wait for an opportunity moment?
And if you think that thief is still good with burst damage or condition, warrior and necro can be way better.
You can’t make them take more damage while in stealth, otherwise there would be a lot of eles AoE spammers in wvw.

I can’t see a better way to make the thief do what he is supposed to do, and don’t look like a weak version of the warrior.

Hi, i’m playing as mesmer lvl 30 (my highest lvl char) and from all weapons i use, Staff is that i most like, followed by sword/focus. For now i just want to play PvE, so i would like to know what kind of gear should i pick to get at lvl 80.

Atm i’m using Ravaging (Prescision/Cond Dmg), but the staff doesn’t have a great dmg, even with condition gear. I’m not a fan of melee caster, so i just use sword to finish off weak enemies, and focus as utility and get away.

So, what is a good gear/build and traits to use this weapons?
I saw the Osicat’s Shatter build and sometimes he use this weps, but it’s just WvW, this kind of build works in PvE too?
