The Water Globe is close to Elixir Shell , which might be better or not, depending of the situation. But has smaller Radius and 66% longer cooldown.

Wildfire, Water Globe and Sand Squall have way too long cooldowns, specially the globe.

I’d say to swap the Water Globe with Tidal Surge and reduce its cooldown to 25 seconds. And Sand Squall to 20 seconds, or give it a Blast Finisher.

Wildfire is hard to give a proper cooldown, its utility and huge AoE actually deserves a 40s cd, but that’s too much for Scepter eles, considering it’s their only fire field.

Few weeks ago I notice that the forum has some wierd spaces between text and links. It doesn’t happen often though.

I’m using Google Chrome v43, and I never resize the window, which looks like is what the CSS is trying to do, fitting the content to a thinner column.

2 second cast for a 2 second stun (that will likely be interupted) is just too much, especially when a non-elite legend’s elite skill is essentially the same thing. Really hope they look at this again and adjust accordingly.

I agree that 2 seconds is too much, but also note that the shout deals a ton of damage, 1,034 with that crappy non-zerk gear they use in PvP.

A Necro with Locust Swarm and Spectral Walk, both traited, can have 4 min of swiftness by himself.

If “Shiro tranfers [sic] any conditions from himself to foes he hits.”, maybe the condi transfer could be used on Enchanted Daggers. It has 6 max number of hits, so you can use Riposting Shadows to remove any snare, then heal and attack your enemy for a total of 9 conditions removed, but on a longer cooldown to balance it.

It may be for economic reasons.

If it was for economic reasons they wouldn’t allow us to recover upgrades easily with the old transmute system. The problem with badge/karma armor started with the wardrobe update, there was no problem before it so it can’t be for anything related to the economy.

What happens when people with excess badges and karma can salvage armor bought with them directly? How many more mats will enter the market? Inscription/insignia prices, such as for berserker, would fall dramatically.

What if you don’t get mats for salvaging them? WvW items only give back the upgrade slot on them, karma gives you the rune with the Account Bound text.

WvW gear is useless, there’s no point trying new builds because if you decide to slot some good runes/sigils, say goodbye when you change stats. I have over 6k BoH, and everytime I want to try a new build I need to craft or buy from the dungeon vendor.

The WvW items are there only to fool new players. The worst part is that after 3 years they haven’t added a description to the gear saying that you cannot salvage or use on the mystic forge.

I don’t want a class that is a completely different game and I also think it would confuse 90% of the players.

Then Revenant is not for you, just like Engineer is not for many other players that can’t manage kits.

Again, that’s evidence that the utilities need to be buffed and the energy mechanic needs to change. Nothing to do with weapon swap. Do you get how much swapping 6-0 would be useful if they removed cooldowns and made you actually THINK about how to boost your energy?

As I have stated many times on this forum, the issue here is not weapon swapping. It’s lack of synergy between legends and weapons. My solution is to make weapons a “blank slate” with no conditions, support, CC, or damage modifiers. Instead have traits which add those things to slots 1-5 regardless of weapon.

I agree on this, the low cooldowns on the utilities are clearly made so they are much more necessary for the Revenant than a simple utility for other classes. They are part of the class mechanic.

Well, we already have access to piercing, so what exactly do you mean OP? Ricochet hits? Small AoE-blast on hit? Two/three projectiles per skill activation?

For:

It’s the same damage and still single target, but procs twice per attack.
I like this change. Power necros would be kittened that their damage doesn’t show high numbers anymore. haha

My warrior is full ascended zerk, all weapons, all trinkets, and the gear has 3 pieces of assassins, from previous meta, but I still like the extra precision.

One guy wanted to kick me for not having “full zerk” gear. One of his trinkets was Masterwork (green) btw. lol

The damage isn’t very high, a full rotation from engineer deals more damage, but they have cooldowns ofc.

i really hope the elite spec isn’t rifle, just doesn’t really seem thiefy. If it is though, they’d really need to incorporate thief mechanics to make it interesting and it seems like that’d be easier to do with staff than a rifle.

I have some really cool ideas for staff, just haven’t figure out one skill and the follow up of another.

2 itself is just a Light field version of Smoke Field with a detonation.

Yeah, the Light field is just a way to clear condis you know. It was kind based on the Infiltrator from Mass Effect, so the tech-style. Agree it fits better for engy, but what can we do. ¯\(?)

This is true for every other important interact point with NPCs standing on top of it, like WvW keep supply depots. Please fix.

Imo Legends should have more options – as I said in another thread. I think 2 heals, 5-7 utiliy skills and 2 elites per Legend could make the Revenant more unique for each player.

Examples

Heal 1 – Big heal (Empowering Misery)
Heal 2 – Medium heal, self-utility (Soothing Stone)
*Heal 3 – Small heal, group-utility PBAoE (Project Tranquility)

Utility 1 – Self-utility (something like a Stance or Signet)
Utility 2 – Group-utility PBAoE (Pain Absorption, Purifying Essence, Natural Harmony)
Utility 3 – Offensive Single-target (Forced Engagement, Banish Enchantment)
Utility 4 – Defensive/Offensive Ground-target AoE (Unyielding Anguish, Inspiring Reinforcement)
*Utility 5 – Defensive/Offensive PBAoE upkeep (Vengful Hammers, Protective Solace)
*Utility 6 and 7 – any of above or new type like Summons

Elite 1 – Self-utility/PBAoE (Embrace the Darkness)
Elite 2 – Group-utility/Ground-target AoE (Rite of the Great Dwarf, Energy Expulsion)

*(not for every Legend)

PS: Ventari wouldn’t have Heal 1, and because he already has 2 Group-utilities, the 6 and 7 can be Self-utility and Defensive PBAoE.

The only thing you can swap is the order of skills, as each legend has access to only one heal, one elite, and 3 utilities. That, by the way, also answers your second question.

By the way, currently none of the skills work underwater. That is not that much of a problem as it may seem, since the Revenant cannot use any underwater weapon anyway (seems they forgot that underwater combat still exist when they prepared the beta).

I already feel sorry for any Revenant that ends up in an underwater fractal.

That’s a little disappointing. :/
Considering that the Revenant by itself doesn’t have any skills other than his weapon, I expect at least 2 heals, 2 elites and 5-6 utilities per Legend.

I expected something different from this topic, but I’ll ask anyway:

To anyone playing the beta weekend, how many skills each Legend has?

They have drop-“ups” for their heal, utility and elite skills, so one can only imagine that they’re able to swap, and save that template to when they come back to that Legend.

Also, all of Ventari utilities are tied to his Heal skill, if you swap the heal to another, those utilities are disabled or they gain a new effect?

There’s a very annoying bug when I change the color of my armor.

As you can see in the image, all colors are applied, but if I change a single piece and Accept, the entire gear is affected and further color options are not applied, only happens in preview though.

Can be fixed by leaving the area or go to char select screen.

Quickening Screech is a good support skill. But the cast time make birds very annoying to use, at least in PvE where stuff dies in a few seconds. I usually kill the mob while the bird is dancing (casting it).

Just make it instant cast and reduce the range to 600 to balance, if necessary.

I came up with this build based on the info we got until now. Might not be very effective, but the idea was really cool.

Build Editor – Utilities, two Specializations, Items
*Replace Staff for Greatsword.

Heal and EliteLink
“Your soul is mine!” – Recover Life Force.
“Chilled to the bones!” – Just a better option than the others, chill is great though.

Reaper SpecializationLink
Relentless Pursuit – Harder to be snared.
Chilling Force – Gain Life Force attacking chilled enemies, and a little Might too.
Reaper’s Onslaught – Increased attack speed in Reaper’s Shroud.

Objective
The objective is to stay in Reaper’s Shroud for the longest time possible, inflicting both power and condition damage. Life Force is your main health and the regular health pool is the buffer time you have to fill your Life Force again.

Synergy
Dhuumfire applies burn on every reaper’s auto attack. This condition stacks Corrupter’s Fervor, increasing your Toughness up to 300 and reducing Condition damage incoming up to 20%. Armored Shroud further increases your Toughness, which also rewards your Power by 14%.

The Sigil of Ice combined with 100% condition duration lasts for 4 seconds, and for this duration every 10 seconds, your auto attack rotation generates 1% + 1% + 3-11% Life Force with the Chilling Force trait. Other skills will also generate 1% Life Force per hit.

Stats in Reaper’s Shroud:
+220 Power
+480 Toughness
+25% Movement speed
1 Condition removed every 3 seconds
-50% Life Force degeneration
-20% Condition damage
-66% Immobilize, Cripple and Chill duration

Rotation out of Shroud
Axe/Focus is used to quickly fill the Life Force, and set up some Chill before you swap to GS and enter Reaper’s Shroud again. Same for the Heal Shout, Spectral Armor and Grasp, all of them used to recover Life Force. Plague Signet if you have more than 3 conditions and can’t wait.

I’m trying a MM build, but they do nothing at all. They only attack if I use the active skill, and take 2-5 seconds to start auto attacking after.

Also, the Bone Minions are supposed to explode where they are, or should rush to your Target before explode?

Edit: And fix the land/underwater interaction with minions. It’s absurd that we can’t travel the map, because any puddle of water will kill all of them.

In a game where you can avoid taking damage with skill, it’s obvious that damage stats are the go to option.

I disagree. Dodge is like a abosorb mechanic, just like tanks do. And we self heal, trough number 6, traits and abilities, like a healer would be doing.

There’s nothing funny about it, HT can be destroyed by champions and enemy zergs.

Herbal Mixture (feel free to suggest a better name) is like Berserker Sance, you should use it preemptively. Could also be instant-cast, it’s up to the devs to decide.

The heals are on par with HT + Regen + Water blasts. The daze is a 5 man interrupt with 10s cooldown. Necro’s Wail of Doom is 2s daze on a 30s cooldown. Healing Spray should have a huge tell, because even if you miss, the heal already happened.

Bandages are 1000 base heal, and they will reduce to only one. Check their Med Kit idea here:

Now that Healing Turret is dying so fast, even in the split second it takes to double-click and detonate, I tried Med Kit and remember why it is so bad.

What I propose to improve it:

F1. Bandage Self – Same.
1. Healing Spray – Heal yourself and allies in front of you for 350 per pulse and daze enemies with the last pulse for 1/2s. 400 range, 3 pulses, 1s cast, 10s cooldown.
2. Bandages – Drop 3 bandages in a target location, each one heals for 800. 900 range, 1/2s cast, 12s cooldown.
3. Antidote – Use an antidote to clear a condition, and drop another in front of you. 1/4s cast, 15s cooldown. (self antidote prioritizes imob)
4. Stimulant – Use a stimulant that grants fury and swiftness for 6 seconds, and drop another in front of you. 1/2s cast, 20s cooldown.
5. Herbal Mixture – Grant increased boon duration and reduced condition duration for 10s. Info: +33% boon duration, Info: -33% condition duration, 1/2s cast, 40s cooldown.

The devs proposed an auto attack for Med Kit, I think it’s unnecessary, also burning on a 1/2s cast AA is kitten too OP. The boon equipament does not fit the Kit spirit as well.

Overall I think trickery steal (basically 2 x x x 6) is the strongest trait spread foundation that thief has. Having steal on 21s cd that includes a lifesteal/poison component is extremely strong, especially when coupled with a stun, a boonrip that prioritizes stability so the stun always hits, and vigor/swiftness/fury/might.

What makes the 6 points in Trickery so necessary? IMO Shadow’s Embrace is a much better talent, idk how does anyone replace it. My solo build below.

I agree with the line drawn by ArenaNet.

Because none weapon skill share categories with utility skills. But some of the heal and elite do, so why not make all of them have a label?

I understand that it’s probably due to cooldown reduction, but it’s very inconsistent, and I don’t think it would break the game.

I acquired 2 sets of WvW armor one year ago, both have Hoelbrak runes, not to mention many weapons with Bloodlust, Fire, Battle, Force, etc. At that time I barely knew how crafting work, and had no idea I wouldn’t be able to retrieve them.

If I need an upgrade from Ascended gear I’d buy the Extractor, but not from a kitten exotic which is useless to me now, because it’s soubound.

I’m not asking for a BoH = mats farm. Only the upgrade is enough.

I saw another post complaining about Monthlies and I thought, which JPs are mostly completed for it?

1-3. I always start in Caledon Forest for Morgan’s Leap, Spelunker’s Delve and Spekks’s Laboratory. I do not complete Dark Reverie because of the annoying plants shooting stuff at me;
4. Then I head to Kessex Hills for The Collapsed Observatory;
5-7. All 3 JPs in Lion’s Arch;
8. Southsun Cove for Under New Management;
9. Snowden Drifts for King Jalis’s Refuge;
10. Wayfarer Foothills for Shamans Rookery;
11. Diessa Plateau for Wall Breach Blitz;
