They are increasing reward for longer fractals so that reward will reflect time spent. Dredge was already rewarding through bags it will be interesting to see what they add.
You get a new platform to show off how good you really are also better rewards. That isn’t exactly nothing.
gold we get will always reflect difficulty and will probably scale with fotm level. I do wish the trailers of that magnitude where worked in game as scenes though.
80 levels /8 characters=10 they are giving all characters level 30 that is a ridiculous change and now we never have to level alts that helps us so much. Also most people made it to 80 before recent updates when there was still glitch to exploit and rerolling easy 3 fractals. Anet is removing these possiblities from the equation. This is not negating people who gotten high level fractals though great achievement. Also max fotm level after update seams to be 50. 2ndly rewards at 30 will probably be just as good as what you are getting at 80.
I welcome the reformat of fotm. Also they are probably going to do it with wvw points too and there will be alot more complaining about that.
See “Reign of Fire” on the rise and fall of dragons in first 10mins they sum um why dragons go to sleep. I think Anet took this direction when they crafted their elder dragons.
Can I ask what you perceive as a bigger problem; giving rewards to those who may not deserve them, or giving no rewards to those who do?
It’s like asking which is worse; letting a criminal go free or convicting an innocent, and I personally agree with the latter.
I say decide what rewards are appropriate, put them in place, and as you start to see the ways in which it can be abused you will much more effectively be able to tweak it to prevent said abuses.
Unfortunately that runs the risk of closing the barn door after the horse gets out. The economy is not something we like to take those sorts of risks on and we wouldn’t be adding rewards until we are more certain of their effects on all of the game.

I think it’s the general consensus that no one should take supply out of stonemist unless specifically instructed to.
I think this goes completely against the game mode of play as you want. Because who are we to instruct anyone else what to do? We can ask or suggest by offering our reasoning to do so. Though if a player wants to repair walls all day long, it’s their choice.
That’s the thing with these achievements, it shakes up PPT players like ourselves.

the counter can be argued cause of mob respawn and event respawn rates it is the best place to level. Ive been runing with my level 30 ele no problems yet finishing chambers and such and working way up tower.
Point we are making is tower should be considered intermediate to easy content. If you doge roll out of aoe circle run up with a group of 5 to do events you can make it to the top no problem. And tower is pretty interesting content with many new mechanics bosses along tower are really interesting and unique.

Make it so number players mean nothing and strategy means everything. make a blue print for wall for wvw. buildable fortifications. you can attack through and run through but enemy’s cant.
Bring out mobile anti personnel weapons traps that actually one hit and the anti zerg anti big server movement will actually be started. Im still surprised trebs don’t one hit players. Clumping to get her should just be a target to die.
You would think we would develop weapons against the primary tactic in WvW by now. Lossing = development of new tactique to counter. Bring out the anti personnel golem from living story and now we are talking.

I think scarlet doesn’t slay lore but she has none. And in the void we are left with hopeful dreams of lore related living story and Scarlet’s quick death.
I still feel then new map as overflow prevents dispersion of wvw players. And will add to shift of players to top tiers. The map limit is the only thing that gives people a chance in wvw. And the sport metaphor for wvw is completely broken and shouldn’t even be justified.
Only top 1-4 servers actually have que troubles and only top 2 servers is it actually server.
They need to make places harder to cap honestly = more upgrades
i think combat last longer in wvw to give people credit for kills i think. You can get credit for kills long after battle and even after you died

I mean come onnnn. Do I really need to type paragraphs & paragraphs of why? The living world is only good as long as people are waiting for an expansion. Otherwise it just gets boring and old. Alone, it’s not sufficient and it doesn’t stand a chance against these new MMOs coming out.
Arena Net needs sometime to advertise. Something to make some real profit on. The gem store is not going to suffice in the near future. I guarantee it. If you’re active in the community you can tell that people are getting more and more bored and talking more and more about these other MMOs coming out.
This game needs some real new to it. Real content, real story, real endgame…I could go on and on. It needs a real reason to keep the player’s interest in the game, other than just to hold them off until these new MMOs come out. I played Guild Wars for 6 years until this game came out, then I switched over. I was always a huge fan of the lore, style, and philosophy, but now I’m contemplating switching to something new from the direction this game is heading in.
Get it together, Arena Net. This game needs an expansion.

Point would be it make things challenging by being really weak so if you used it, it would be a detriment to team. would be cool to have pvp arena that is just 1v1 fist fighting though.

For those who want to challenge themselves probably mostly norn. It would be interesting if there where unarmed weapon skills so you can try things weaponless to challenge your self in different events, dungeons and bosses. Would be interesting easy to implement hardcore mode across events. If this was already mention I’m sorry for bring it up again.

Id argue it is a slow delivery not a bad one. I think they are taking to long to develop her which leaves her empty like unflavored food. Leaving you with only a bad taste in your mouth. Also leaving all of her development out of game is the major pet peeves about her.
To all players who complain of one hit kills they are all clearly telegraphed in the tower. If you can’t avoid aoe circles you cant really call yourselves a solo player. There are people who can solo arah and sell squad spots for mad g. So you really shouldn’t complain of difficulty of this level.
One hit kills is the game being relistic you step on a land mine what do you think will happen. You take a fireball to the face or get stabed by a blade twice your size what will happen.
I agree though that events in tower cant be soloed with my sub 80 alts but a squad of 5 can make it to the top easy. You really think you can fight a 1-10k army by your self. Only the “dragon renderer” pulled off an equivalent feat and you aren’t him.
Better question is why are we entering tower at all though it is made of wood and has a flower inside you would think a fire would be a good idea also it would destroy the spores. Come on asura invent thermite ultimate pesticide.
This preview left me with many reservations about this map. Most glaring to me is the fact that the focus seems to be on pve battles as opposed to making a map that encourages and funnels players into fights against each other. Also from what i could see people can be knocked off all over this map which will cause nothing but aggravation. I could see getting knocked off like 5 times in a row, having to run all the way back each time and saying screw this.
Also in regards to these maps being limited to the respected server matchups would definitely be the wrong way to go with this. It will just be another map with a lopsided match up just like the main WvW maps with the low population server getting dumped on like always. Populating each instance of the map with folks from every server seems like the way to go. The sides in this new map could be determined by the colors for the weeks match up. All the servers that are red, green, and blue will be grouped together to populate each side of the map. By going this way the server balance issues will have no impact on this new map. Why take something that is broken already and translate it to this map, that makes no sense to me.
It is an of map what do you expect. It is something to do when qued and has no impact on WvW. An I agree that it only caters to the top 3-4 servers that can actually fill all WvW maps at any given time. Ques are suppose to prevent all migration to one server but now there is no incentives to prevent it.
One of the things we like to do in an unbalanced match is to take stonemist when the zerg server is taking something else on the map. Then we siege the heck out of the lords room. The zerg server knows they are the zerg server of the match and will come for stonemist within mintues. Zerg servers are usually baddies who just keep throwing numbers at you spamming there #1 key. So when they come you make tons of loot as they will just keep respawning and coming right back and running into your siege spamming there #1 key and dieing over and over.
I love 5-10maning stonemist with mez portals. So much fun take in 1min = not time for zerg to respond
I’m tried of all these infinite knockdown mechanics that you can do nothing about. Having two stunbrekaers doens’t help if a mob spams knockdowns. During the 3-4 seconds that you can’t do anything you’re dead from damage and insane bleeding conditions. Getting spammed knockdowns is annoying. There are places in other dungeons where this gets out of hand.

Most of scarlet saga will be turned in to a fotm path most likely which will allow past events to be repeated. Sill looking forward to see how new paths are worked in there.

You have a interesting complaint. If you would use your link and take a look at the SoR/BG/Mag match, as you can tell BG is winning, at times ticking 300-400+ most the match. While mag doesn’t have the population to win, Mags guilds and players are out there fighting hard. Just a few moments before this post, Mag had BG pushed back to Vally in EBG (while our map is queued)
Your problem is expecting you can win the PPT game, with out coverage, you can not. You bring up balance? Both Anet and any WvW player will tell you, WvW is not balanced and won’t be any time soon. It’s up to you to make it fun, you say you’re a commander? Rally 20-30 regular people, train them, get better together. Get out there and fight, drop the “we can win the match” mentality because its (As SpehssMehreen said) a defeatist attitude.

To note us magummans are always wining 12 hours after reset and usually get lead a few oceanic’s can make all the difference in WvW. What I don’t see is why WvW is devided into NA and EU servers when best servers have 24 hour zergs. I push for all seasons to be merged gold, silver and bronze for NA and EU. This way we actually have people same level to fight against. Let first half be random and second half be best fight the best and score be based on who you win against not that you win determined by off season ranks.
level 40 fotm drop weapons at a 40% drop rate through rng you can get what you want if you do enough of them. I got 20 weapon I’m not using so many other better skins you can get. I don’t think weapons should be made easier. If anything there should be a recipe to make them ascended.
you need a full squad wipe. If some one rezs before everyone dies or someone survives the battle the npcs don’t rez with you.
From Ender’s game “to defeat your enemy you must love them” we cant beat scarlet cause no one loves her. Which is why she always gets her wacky ways and even in failure she succeeds.
Isn’t that one of the keep strategies strike where you are least expected. It is commonly used by WvW commanders.
People say scarlet hasn’t succeeded at anything are forgetting she bombed the exits at the queen jubilee killing citizens in the thousands. The time bombs we diffused where distraction for the real ones. Even Logan was crying and at a lose for words. But I guess to players NPC lives really have no value. If people dying left and right don’t motivate you to put some one in a 6ft hole what will?

I think who you get is based on your personal story. Race determines which of destinies edge and mentor determined by which group you join would reflect scarlet making it personal. Any confirmation on this or is it just random who you get.

Why are you increasing total population cap to wvw into infinity with overflows without addressing server population mismatch?
Flimsy evidence but creature behind scarlet has 6 eyes in artwork is it possible that is the relation and gap we are missing for scarlet. Krait towers are made to make portals to other relms or mark cites of such portals(accention) . Relm of Torment/Madness explain why scarlet is so crazy and everything to now was a diversion.
Should I feel bad for not caring? It’s five days away still, when it arguably should’ve been part of the Tower of Nightmares release itself (after finishing the 50 Toxic Spore task, you could then enter the tower or do an extra task/set of tasks to gain entry).
I mean, why not just get a Searing Cauldron (we found one in Orr, and there’s one in Ascalon as a commune point, I think) or build a huge Megalaser to just take out the tower with minimal risk? With any luck, we could take out that invasive weed too while we’re at it.

I bet if we did that it would be like kicking over a mushroom which is why we need to use incendiaries like thermite to completely destroy the organic spores in the structure. What happens when you kick over a mushroom you get 50 more.
