Dragon corruption seems to be an active… act, given how during hibernation the Elder Dragons release the magic they had consumed while awake, but it does not corrupt (hence why the asura were able to siphon off of Primordus to power their original gate network). So I would believe that the Sanguinary Blade was made in a unique fashion that these other known remnants of Elder Dragon bodyparts were not.

Nothing but the original concept art for Zhaitan’s body indicates that Zhaitan’s body is made of its minions – and at that, said concept art is of being made of dragons, not just simply minions. In other words, it’d be made of dozens of Tequatls. The in-game model is fairly different, though rather abomination-like and holds dozens of draconic heads, its skin isn’t of the same design as the concept art (which literally had bodies of dragons compressed against each other – the in-game model’s only indication of being made of multiple dragons is the multiple heads/wings/tails).

Also, we have seen Primordus as well as part of Kralkatorrik – in GW1. And while we have not seen all of Kralkatorrik or Jormag, they have been seen before (Destiny’s Edge seeing Kralkatorrik), and there’s no indication that they’re made of anything out of the ordinary. The most out-of-the-ordinary for Kralkatorrik is that he can physically become a sandstorm.

Doesn’t Kralkatorrik becoming a sand storm go with Glint’s hideout being contained in a grain of sand in the crystal desert? Also could have been like a Mezmer illusion become like an Elementalist tornado in the desert = Sandstorm.

Maybe in nighmare tower she was looking for a cure for a poison rather then the testing of a poison. We played into her hand by destroying the tower. Works in the thron prick and blackmailing Majority to her side. And the Scarlet “She cant have you” quote.

Despite their names, the Eyes and Mouths of Zhaitan are not a piece of Zhaitan’s body – unlike the blood and tooth of Jormag which are not dragon minions but body parts. With the exception of that specialized task, they are no different than any other dragon champion, which in turn is just a very powerful and self-intelligent dragon minion. Again, the Fang of the Serpent (the name given to Jormag’s knocked-out tooh) is not a dragon minion – it is no more such than a Shard of Zhaitan dungeon trophy is.

Didn’t destines edge have the tattoos that prevent corruption. So wouldn’t that explain how spear didn’t corrupt them in the novel. Maybe it did corrupt and Rylock is a ticking time bomb?

I think Scarlet was last minet filler to get the festivals set up I expect much more from the second arc honestly.

They did. When they mentioned the reduced waypoint/BLC key costs. It happened during Cutthroat Politics if you talked to them after the instance with the master.

They mentioned four things, two of which were the same to the other: investigating the Molten Alliance and Aetherblade attacks (i.e., make the four fractals from the dungeons) and adding in those mini-game rotations (which were the same for both even). The other two being the new unique fractal (investigating the Thaumanova Reactor explosion/researching the Fall of Abaddon) and the reduced cost (Kiel using her new captain powers to negotiate with the Arcane Council on her part, Evon just ordering his company to be cheap for a bit).

Doesn’t it all come down to the ratio of new players to old players? Maybe they where testing the waters in that direction what do we the player prefer. What do people prefer temporary content or permanent content? In long run everyone know they voted wrong and there denial of it is hilarious.

Hardly. Their aid comes in many forms, and though the animal forms are viewed as blessings from the main Spirits of the Wild, it is not the only such blessing.

During the flight south, for example, four of the Spirits of the Wild fought Jormag directly – all four having been lost, one of which known dead the other three with situation unknown (these four being Owl, Ox, Wolverine, and Eagle – though Eagle doesn’t get mentioned in-game). And at the same time, four other Spirits of the Wild directly led Aesgir south to where he founded Hoelbrak (these four being Bear, Raven, Wolf, and Snow Leopard).

Wouldn’t we see the spirits Bear raven wolf and snow leopard physical form in hoelbrak then? Just saying a norn calling on the aid of spirts of the wild is directly tied with their transformations Bear guide my hand and such. The shrines being destroyed might have prevented norn from connecting with them and spirits having no physical embodiment I find it hard to believe that they can be killed. Magic draining dragons though<- and life = magic was mentioned. Norn do brag about accomplishments but norn never lie about them.

My generalization tough is that norn heroes are outliers that are ridiculously powerful and can fight toe to toe with a char legion though and only though there technology do char have a chance. norn would easily go 1v1 against dragon champions though most would fail. Would you deny credit to the 1 that succeeds?

Lore background of Aesgir is pritty weak though only one source to my knowlege the really should have done fractal about im even if it is just to find the scroll. Would have been alot better then thermanova. And more useful, Why look for answers when you can look for solutions?

Anet hasn’t developed lore in any extent mostly use living story to generate recent lore so wouldn’t hold my breath about it.

I don’t think it was ever said that a single norn can take out an entire warband – warbands range from 5 to 20 highly tactical soldiers. Your friend was possibly mis-remembering the line from The Movement of the World which states: “Although it is certain the Charr could have destroyed the Norn resistance if they but turned their entire army—or even one full legion—to the cause, warbands and smaller raiding parties could not overcome the individual strength of the Norn.”

This doesn’t mean a single norn took out warbands and smaller raiding parties of charr, but that warbands and smaller raiding parties of charr could not beat the individualistic and strong norn.

Similarly, your friend is likely misremembering on that “armies of 100 and they sent 10 norn because of imbalance” – this likely comes from Eye of the North where the dwarves and Ebon Vanguard are using a good deal of their forces to combat the Destroyers, and Jora comes in with 4 norn in tow saying “I thought three would be enough but Olrun insisted” or some such. This is again credit not to being overpowered but because the norn are individualistic hunters – they are indeed strong, but before that they do not have armies, and they do not have armies not due to strength but due to culture – they’re too individualistic to form an army. As Jeff Grubb once said back in 2009, a room of norn cannot even agree on what to get for lunch, let alone form an army with discipline.

This isn’t to say the norn aren’t strong – they are, most definitely so. Though they aren’t quite as out of proportion as your friend seems to claim. He/she seems to be mistaking norn individualism for norn compensating for their strength compared to the weaker races.

Eir was straining at the end of their trip so it wasn’t “as if it was nothing” – though said trip is from her homestead through the asura gate in Hoelbrak to Rata Sum (direct path no LA stop) and from the Rata Sum gate to Snaff’s Lab (though the book describes Rata Sum in its original form before a redesign – same with Hoelbrak – which puts Snaff’s Lab in the bottom of the floating cube which with the redesign is now being mined out by golems still).

And it was a single warband (a larger one at that though) that forced out Jora and her family (and others who remained there) out of her family’s homestead. After the mission of reclaiming it in Eye of the North, you can see about a dozen generic norn in the homestead.

And a scene of norn strength missed: In Sea of Sorrows, two norn brothers together hurl charr one after another – including a really large one – high into the air to land on (and attack) a nearby ship.

I just want to point out that it depends on who the char decide to attack. The strength of a norn is individually based. Greatest achievement of a norn is to fight Jormag “the elder dragon” 1v1 to a draw. He even punched out his tooth and carried it from far shiver peaks to where it rests now.

So ya one norn can easily take out a warband but really depends who they are.

I want to point out that the norn of today are only a fraction as strong as the norn from GW1

I love how everyone forgets that we knew first year of living story would suck because they where setting up repeating events. The fallow up plot of Zihtan will be interesting. For those who don’t know no he is not dead yet body was a fake.

I honestly don’t like title of forum if you are quitting tell me why I care. If you are telling me to quit I’m not so there.

If you are going to blame anyone blame blizzards for poor quality of current gw2. It would have came out 5 years ago if not for them and Anet would still have full control of content which was mainly lore driven. Give Gw2 time to develop and I’m sure no one will complain in the long run but they probably will.

Finally all living story content is returning in fotm so there is that which most people don’t mention. LS is really like you don’t do your job you don’t get paid and that is about it. so rewards not being repeatable makes sense. However, gw2 has no end game currently only LS which makes it boring to play so the updates really keep it interesting and are probably the only reason people keep playing.

Some ideas some are weak though:
-valentines day XO XO tron sells hugs and kisses he wants love too
-tip toe tron he joins order of whispers<-he did infiltrate scarlet organization becomes a thief it is already in his personality/programing
-Bar Bell Tron he joins vigil<-he becomes buff
-Pen Cil Tron he joins Priory<-he sets priory archives on fire

The best theory I’ve ever heard on Scarlett is that her goal is to create a Chaos reactor, like Thaumanova in Metrica Province or the Infinity Coil in Mt. Maelstrum, and use it to mutate the Pale Tree and free all Sylvari from the influence of the Dream.

That still doesn’t explain why she is sending toxic seeds all over the world though. The theory I heard said the sprouts were imbued with magic, but I don’t know if that’s still plausible.

Reactors used for 2 things research and generating power. So then if she makes reactor. What is she researching? Or what does she need power for? I think she is in the implementation part of her plan though. So I think question is what does she need all that power for. And we never got an answer on what powered that clock spell. Even Mesmer’s have to sleep some time. And the scale was unbelievable.

match ups based on win percentages/current point would make it completely worth it. Make winners harder to keep first.

I didn’t read every post so sorry if this has been said but the new map does not effect the WvW score its just something to play while you wait or choose to play on it. I think the map is going to be testing grounds of sorts for new ideas that might make there way into WvW.

It effects WvW population. No que = less dispersed population among servers. This is guaranteed.

It made a path for new fotm to be introduced. Threaten Desda = get new fractals

Would explain all the alliances too merging technology to save there race from dragons. Also to face united pack forces.

First of all this is not supposed to be a QQ thread. Congratulations to all the winning servers. You played well and thus you deserve to win.

Anyway, I think most people will agree that this season was extremely unbalanced. Imo the main reason for this were high population servers playing against small servers.

Population imbalance usually means the bigger server has 2x your War score after a few days which means there is barely any reason to fight for the rest of the week. Small servers (which is the majority of servers) are frustrated, less players will play, bigger servers have no competition and are bored.

Coming from Gold league [EU] there were only 2 different situations after a few weeks:

• Our server stomping the other 2 because we have more players
  or
• Our server being stomped by a bigger server

Here is an easy solution though:

Make the points per tick dependent on the average amount of players per server.

Here is a short example:

Server 1:
100 players
10 camps
=> 50 points

Server 2:
50 players
10 camps
=> 100 points

Bigger servers will need to split their zergs to be more effective at capping while small servers still get enough points per tick to stay competitive for the whole week. Small group roaming might become more popular as well.

I think this solution would help WvW to be more balanced.
