We also read something about a ‘’Dragon Festival’’
Dragon Eye weapons :p?
One problem i see with this. You are calling it stealth. Its invisibilty. If i see someone running towards me and ‘stealths’ and suddenly he disappears from view, he didnt sudden jump into shadows or moved quietly, he went invisible.
Thieves can have stealth. They cant have invisibilty.
As much as we like to call it invisibilty, the skills are named Stealth. The Wiki description is pretty funny though.
Stealth — Thieves have access to multiple skills that, for a short duration, make them invisible to enemy players and avoid aggro from hostile NPCs. While stealthed the thief is not targettable, but can still be damaged by area of effect, and attacking from stealth will break the deception.
It’s called stealth, but it gives invisibilty.
I made a Human Engineer and got a shield, it’s the same bug with them.
It happens with every back item with Human using a shield.
Well, maybe not all of them, but at least the ones I have tried. That being the Back Banner, the Backpacks, The Engineer Backpack (Used Fine Transmutation Stone and gave it over to my Guardian.)
I don’t know if it maybe is a Guardian only bug (could be Aegis bugging it up, no clue), but it happens with (most) the back items I use on him.
But I DO thank you for confirming that the “back banner” DOES look every bit as ridiculous in the game as it does in the promotional picture. Makes ya look like some sort of Battle Chess pawn or something. I bet the “we want capes!” guys are crying in their soup.
I know what you mean, I don’t like it that much either, my Guild Master won a bet x)
(edited by Farzo.8410)
Back items are bugging when you play as a Human (Male in my case) using a Shield.
When you unsheathe the shield, the back item is sheathed as well, and slides back from your arm to the back. It happens with every back item.
I think this have existed since the beta.
I wonder how the Thief population would react if ArenaNet stepped out and said ‘’We have removed stealth and added more shadowstepping and more toughness to this profession.’’
Fortunately, Anet doesn’t want to put a .45 bullet into their own game, so this will never happen.
I don’t think the Thief population are the ones dominating the games population. It would be more like ArenaNet taking a wrong step, crushing their toe on the drawers corner.
ArenaNet said (I think…) that balancing something like cross-profession is really a challenge. Original Guild Wars had over a thousand skills to balance, and that is why they went with the more simple approach in Guild Wars 2 since it’s a lot more easier to balance.
I don’t think we will see cross-profession in this game. However, we might see more utility skills, and more weapons in the future.
I wonder how the Thief population would react if ArenaNet stepped out and said ‘’We have removed stealth and added more shadowstepping and more toughness to this profession.’’
To be honest, I would love this.
I don’t have a Thief myself though, but I would totally roll one.
Some might say our Virtues are our profession mechanic (F1, F2, F3) but it’s the boons that are out profession mechanic. Without our boons we are pretty much useless.
you do realice that gw2 is dead right?
How does it feel that after so many comments in this thread no one gave a daft about your comment?
IB4 ‘’You did.’’
This is the most ridiculous thing I have seen on a video game forum.
People think in different ways.
Yes, sometimes people think in very silly ways that you yourself can’t even understand why they think that way…
Yes, people are silly.
People seem to want to create the 55Monk Build all over again.
I was just wondering, we who pre-ordered the game and played the betas, (which was really fun) do we get invite to all other coming betas in the future as well? For example, expansions (if we now will have a beta for it) and such.
No, I’m not going to be mad if this beta testing was only for the release of the game, and we will have to pre-order the next expansion to enter the beta again :P

ArenaNet got well over 300 employees.
As a Guardian, I feel very powerful.
You feel even more powerful if your character looks the way you want him/her to look.
We pretty much already know all this :P
I must tattoo the name Jon Peters into my chest now!
Dragon Festival?!?
:D
Cantha OMG \o/
Well, maybe not :P
But either way, I really want those new tools, the harves sickle and logging axe!
Everyone that likes this ability in spectator mode is just lame.
No it should not be an option. Half the reward of making a great build comes with the fact that it puts you ahead, sets you apart, and you learn the class better. Obviously, once customs come out of open betas this will not be an issue but I’m surprised the devs even let this be possible.
Competitive pvp is lost on every single one of you souls that thinks this should be allowed. No, this doesn’t increase the competition. In fact, it lowers it because people just don’t LEARN TO PLAY and actually get good. This is the reason why half the nerfs have been happening to classes. I never thought the ele was OP. A good mesmer can take an ele any day. Now both nerfed. HGH engies are next without a doubt. I already know how to counter them now anyway.Yes, I’m whining but It is so frustrating that most of you disagree with OP. Jeez go learn to play instead of just profiting off other people’s effort…if you want to learn how someone plays…ask.
You shouldn’t just be allowed to figure out what they use.Would you like it if someone just snooped in your room in order to figure out how you study/getgirls/makemoney?
It’s just a breaching of privacy. Whether they show you how or not should be entirely at their discretion.
If you want to learn from the best, simply ask and observe. Don’t just take it. Isn’t this exactly what plagiarism is?
-Twindragona/Twingear/illusionary Rogoe/Skobeloff
Can’t believe you are trying to compare real life snooping to some spectator mode in a game that actually is allowed…..
So, what are you doing in the game exactly?
I’m already half done with my monthly, by accident, and it’s only been like, 1 day after it reseted?
The only things I’ve done is things I like, and that is WvWvW and Jumping Puzzles.
Why are you even playing the game if you can’t even get these things done by accident, do you seriously have to hunt them down?
They’d have to make the game entertaining to watch.
Did you watch BLUs shout cast with the new spectator mode? I doubt it. GW2 is heavily animation based which makes it fantastic to watch when you can view it from static locations.
I did and it was boring as balls, all i saw was ppl spaming stuff and throwing aoes and making clusterkittens everywhere.
No game is fun to watch if you don’t even know what profession/class/champion does what.
I think LoL is boring as hell, it just looks like a clusterkitten to me because I don’t know what champion does what.
Read up on the professions and you will start to understand kitten too.
Oh i do what every1 does rotation and kitten i been playing this game since beta i think at one point this blu guy said “this guys are throwing stuff everywhere” or “that guy is getting focused with aoes”.
Yeah dude dont try to defend what its obvious … its boring to watch that is all.
Don’t try to make your opinion as a fact.
Can’t have everything.
I’m sure ArenaNet will get good feedback with the players they got. Now we just have to wait.
I love it. This is a huge improvement, and I can finally see when they take damage from it, so I know when to keep it up if enemies try to burst.

I don’t have a custom arena of my own.
I looked at the options and they are a lot better than I thought they would be. However, I would like an additional option to be added (if it doesn’t already exist, I couldn’t see it) and that is to be able to turn points off.
Yes, to be able to turn the points off, and you’re able to create a deathmatch custom arena instead of conquest.
Set your score limit, and start killing, when you kill, points go up little by little.
I think ArenaNet finally found their way on how to create their dungeons and PvE encounters.
Guild Wars 2 don’t need tank and spank and such mechanic, they need bosses with small ’’puzzles’’ and fun mechanics like that, with some spanking added.
Dear ArenaNet, please add a downvote option as well so we can downvote all these dumb comments down in the mud so people wont be able to see them.
Some of these comments from other players are pathetic.
Will Hold the Line not work with Solder runes, or what to they mean?
It’s hard to prove anything without evidence. It’s just as easy for me to say; my guild is healthy and wherever I level my alt I see loads of other players. The Zergs in WvW are strong and tear any other Zerg down. The game is obviously not dying.
It’s hard to prove anything without real numbers that only ArenaNet themselves got.
Yep! So a few things to note:
If you don’t want people looking at your builds, just disable spec mode on your custom.
Also, if you’ll notice, players now show up on the minimap as red/blue profession icons. So, for instance, I won’t just see a an ally’s green dot running to a point, I now see their profession icon. This helps you to make much more educated decisions in the course of a game. When in spectator mode, it allows you to see EXACTLY how each team is spreading itself out, where they send their light classes, where they send their bunker, how they collapse to deal with threats, etc.
These awesome features are courtesy of Evan Lesh.

This sounds really good JSharp, thanks for the information.
Now… Where’s the wide cripple option you ’’promised’’ us? I want a Warrior Only Wide Cripple Arena.
Also, can you tell me the name of the other guy? or edit my post to spell his correct name :|
Thanks Jonathan Sharp for the video.
I must say it looks really interesting, thought I must myself feel how it works. There are ‘hot spots’ but it seems you can’t walk around with the camera freely.
Hopefully it will work out really well, because it looks really good, imo.
Also a video about Custom Arenas here.
Also thanks to John Corpening for this video about Custom Arenas!
I must say this looks awesome as well, there sure are some lovely options there, more than I imagined.
(edited by Farzo.8410)
I remember ArenaNet saying that they wanted Lion’s Arch to be ‘the hub’ for people to be in.
But I’m sure they will add a lot of more things in the future to the major cities, making people go there as well.
I really loved how Assassin in original Guild Wars worked.
Crit based, shadow stepping, dagger profession, with grace and speed. No need of stealth at all.
I think the Stealth mechanic for classes/professions is a plague in MMOs.
The only place I can see a Sealth mechanic work is against NPCs, like in a dungeon. There could be a special area in the dungeon you get stealthed and need to avoid enemies, red circles and other stuff you can avoid.
I can’t say I know what’s going on between the servers here. The only thing I see is that VS is apparently being really boring to fight against. SR and Deso does not like it and kind of skip the whole WvWvW thing.
Either way, I had really, really fun in todays zerg, Hjerim did some awesome work and we teared all other zergs apart with our tactics.
Remember that even League of Legends didn’t even reach its E-Sport status right after release, or even for some months after.
It took around (almost) 2 years for it to become an E-Sport.
I’m sure if ArenaNet now start to polish what they got, being Leaderboards, Custom Arenas, Spectator Mode, they will reach E-Sport as well.
Men rolling Female character always say ‘’The animations are better’’ and yada yada.
That’s all a lie. Men just want to be pretty too, that’s just how it is.
It’s funny that this thread got the exact same name as; http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/7257317863
You =/= We
Do people seriosuly enter WvWvW with the mindset of ‘’No one will attack me.’’
Scratch that mindset now, always think like this when you enter WvWvW; ’’I’m entering a PvP zone, I might get killed, so now that I have prepared for it I will not write a forum post about it.’’
Crossbow for future weapons.
Shooting light bolts!
This is something I did during Halloween in Guild Wars 2.
I was trolling people, forcing a waypoint cost on them. Trolling is not something I do day out, day in. This was something I did for fun in spirit of Halloween.
Is your troll on your server doing such things, or just using words in map chat and such to tick you off?
It’s been suggested thousands of times and it’s something ArenaNet is looking into, however, it’s not their priority at the moment.
Since Custom Arenas and Spectator Mode is coming, a streamer called TehMaker will host a tournament (he is a NA player but will start the tournament with EU.)
The prize pool is at the moment over 250 gold.
If you want to, check out his stream, ask him some questions (he is really, really friendly, and gives his opinion on anything, if something is bad, he tells you, no fanboyism here) and if you think it’s worth it, donate some gold to him.
I really recommend to check him out, TehMaker on Twitch.tv
If you are not interested, I’m all willing to get a free Unbreakable Choir Bell.
You do realize that Guardians aren’t the only ones that are gonna suffer from this right? Then again most players don’t really care too much for engineers.
There’s a lot of other professions that use boons, yes.
However, Guardians pretty much rely on boons, all the time. ArenaNet said themselves that Guardian is a profession that gives out their full potential when they got the boons up. Without the boons, they are pretty much not good enough. Boons are our tools.
Guardians got really low HP, and the boons are what keeps us up-pair with other professions.
I’m not going to say anything yet though, I think the Warrior buff was fair, they have been down in the mud far too long.
We’ll see if Guardians can get ripped by a Warrior after the next patch, then we can discuss things.
I want to know what this Master Troll can do if he apparently can kitten a whole server off, and you can’t even put him on the ignore list.
‘’Do the Harlem Shake.’’
You complain about Cursed Shore now? It’s a lovely place now since they did the whole Orr change with mobs respawn and whatnot!
It’s all about what you think is worth or not.
Just because I found the Collector’s Edition worth it doesn’t mean someone else, or you do.
I like the Rytlock statue, I like the Collector’s Edition book explaining the creation of Guild Wars 2, I like the soundtracks, I like the frame with different art pieces, I like the metal box showing the map of Tyria.
For me, it was worth it, because I had the money for it.
Is it worth for you? I don’t know. Do you have the money for it? Are you sure you don’t want anything else instead of a Collector’s Edition?
Run around in circle, spam Wave of Wrath. Omnomnom Bag of Loot.
What is the soruce of the Guardians power?
I admit I have played, and roleplayed a lot in World of Warcraft. All of their classes had a description of where they get their power. Shamans as an example, channels their powers from the elements, communicating with them. Mages uses the Arcane to form frostbolts and fireballs and whatnot, Paladins use the Holy Light, while Blood Elf Paladin stole Light from a Naaru.
So, where do Guardians get their powers from? Being able to from domes, and summoning Spirit weapons.
I know the background of Guardians from the start were Paragons. The turmoil in Elona made Paragons teach all kinds of people around the world, later ending up created todays Guardian.
Since every race can be a Guardian, it can’t be about the Human gods.
Can a Guardians power be pure willpower and dedication to defend and hold ground?
