I’m too proud with my Soldier gear on my Guardian to take anything else
I can’t really remember, but I think toughness scaled better with Guardian, and that’s why Guardians got such a low healthpool from the start, having more toughness.
However, both are good to balance out, so no one is really better than the other.
No math, sorry.
Living Story update. Maybe. MAYBE something that will include SPvP.
Guild Halls for sure is not something we will see this patch, or the next months.
Other than that, I don’t know.
Kralkatorrik, because he’s the largest of all Elder Dragons, at least what we know of.
If you watch Wooden Potatoe’s “GW2 Mysteries” on youtube there’s a relatively founded theory about the existence of a 6th Elder Dragon, whose name appears to be Mordremoth
This is all speculation, of course.
It’s been confirmed by Colin Johanson that there is an Elder Jungle Dragon.

This is all going to be subjective.
The reason why I hate Thiefs and Mesmers is because they are not a fun profession to fight against, it’s boring as hell, why?
To start with Thief, it’s boring as hell to fight something that can just turn invisible. It’s not fun, to know that whatever I do, my enemy can just turn invisible whenever he wants to, and there’s nothing I can do to make him come out from it.
I don’t even know if he’s still in the game, I don’t know if he stealthed and ran away, or if he stealthed and logged out from the game. Stealth in Guild Wars 2 is such a broken mechanic it’s not fun.
I really, really disliked Rogues with their Stealth in World of Warcraft, being able to be in Stealth 24/7 (and now even able to Stealth faster than a Druid can use Travel Form, what?)
Now going over to Mesmer. The Mesmer profession have changed so much from original Guild Wars. I really liked the Mesmer profession in original Guild Wars, they were all about interruption, confusion and conditions.
In Guild Wars 2, they are all about spawning as much clones as possible to create a clusterkitten while their enemy have a hard time target them, and ontop of that, they can even turn INVISIBLE.
Spawning clones and phantasms, AND turn Invisible? The only chance you have against Mesmers is in sPvP, where you can ctrl+T them, so you at least know who the real one is, so you can try to aim for that guy while he runs around, spawning clones at you, slowing you down, becoming invulnerable and all that kitten.
But of course, you drop the target when they go invisible.
Since I can’t post my main, because he got full Tier 3, I post my Ranger instead who got mixed sets.
Mesmers needs a nerf, yes :p
I sure do miss skill hunting, gave me a reason to wander around the world, searching for special enemies.
It’s called moon :P
Oh, so that’s what it’s called, thanks!
lol u bougth 2 copys of gw2
Yes. I have plenty of money from having my own business. It was 40 bucks. <shrug>.
lol so do i but that doesnt mean that im going to buy a pve game twice.
That’s because you are you, and he’s not you. He’s himself.
and I’m Logan Thackeray.
Well, you can trait Pure of Voice to get the same condition removal as Soldier Runes. I guess it depends on how you want to play. If you enjoy the Soldier runes you have, keep them. If you want longer boon duration, switch them out. It really depends on your trait layout and playstyle, so it’s hard for me to give you advice without knowing the details.
Well, that is true.
I think I got good survival. I easily dodge attacks in dungeons and whatnot. I also change weapons from time to time, I do not always go with sword & shield and a staff, I change from greatsword, to hammer, to everything else as well.
So, I think I might go with Berserker trinkets, maybe that will help to balance out my support, survival and damage more.
If you are happy with your survivability, you can slot Berzerker trinkets with your pvt armor to give a boost to damage output. Ascended berzerker trinkets have the best stat increases in the game. You can also switch up your runes to 2xMonk, 2xWater, 2x minor water for increased boon duration. This way you’ll still have a great deal of armor and health, but with a bit more utility and higher damage output.
Is it worth to remove condition removal using my shouts for increased boon duration?
What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to do as much damage as possible, relieve aggro from your group, have awesome healing capabilities, give support through boons?
Well, I like to support, as seen in the traits, but damage is an important thing in Guild Wars 2, is there someway to stay supportive with boons, and getting rid of conditions, while having somewhat good damage?
I’ve been playing since the first Beta Weekend, and Guardian was even my choice of profession since it got revealed.
My character is level 80 and all. But I noticed that I had started to stack only one kind of stat, and that is the Soldier stats, which is Power, Vitality and Toughness.
Everything I got is ‘Soldier’ and I think I should start to balance it out more.
I use Soldier armour, Soldier runes, Soldier weapons, Soldier rings, accessories, amulets and backpack (rings, accessories, amulets and backpacks are only Rare, not Exotic nor Ascended.)
This is the build I use: 0/0/10/30/30
(sword and shield equipped)These are my stats
I pretty much like the traits, using the Virtues line. I used to run 30 points in both Valor and Honour, and 5 points in Virtues, and 5 points in Radiance.
Either way, is everything ‘’perfectly fine’’ or is everything ‘’God such a horrible Guardian you are, I’m glad you came here so we can fix you.’’
Can I balance everything out by only changing my rings, amulets and such? or should I change gear pieces, and weapons too?
TLDR; Everything I got is ‘’of the Soldier’’ and I need to balance out out, my traints are 0/0/10/30/30
(edited by Farzo.8410)
Well, at least we can be happy about one thing, and that is that we don’t need to level our professions in the PvE world to 80 before we can enter PvP.
So everyone can make an OPtalist and PvP with it instantly!
:(
I didn’t really know what to call it. But that thing on the nightsky seems to shine a lot. Does Tyria got a nightsun, or whatever you should call it?
Is it a really, really close star? (But then it would just be a sun…)
Special looking moon?
Log in. It’s not like the game requires a monthly fee.
Log in and look around, see if there’s anything you want to do.
I play PvP for fun.
There’s a lot of titles to unlock, aiming for Champion Paragon at the moment.
I go with Scepter and Torch in the Jade Maw fractal.
Why is there no ’’World’’ in World of Warcraft? Well, I don’t know!
But the name Guild Wars is all from a lore standpoint, not a mehcanic.
Whatever you find the most fun to use.
Best Tier: Elementalist, Mesmer.
Average Tier: Guardian, Necromancer, Ranger, Thief, Engineer.
Below Average Tier: Warrior
Super Smash Bro’s with my asura would be basically the best thing ever.
So make a Super Smash Bro’s type game.
I find it funny how people call it SSB64 these days. A homerun bat or lightsaber would be awesome, most of the content in SSB is a reference to the nintendo games.
I thought it was 8-bit only though and not 16, or 64.
This Rytlock Minigame was done by one man over 3 weeks, which has nothing to do with the PvP team.
but 1v1 will help to BALANCE! ehh this is so easy to understand ;(
Should dueling only be available in The Mists? I think it should, if they are going to split PvP and PvE skills.
Why do you even care if it is available or not outside the Mists? If they make it available outside the Mists and you don’t want to duel nobody forces you.
Only because you don’t like to duel… that is no reason against a duel featuere. I already explained it. They also could make an option to auto deny duel requests so people that don’t want to duel won’t get bothered and spammed by random duel requests.
And about the whining: ArenaNet should just ignore it. As long as duels are only for fun and there are no real 1 vs. 1 leaderboards or tournaments it should not be a problem because they would be only for fun then.
I don’t think you get my point.
ArenaNet have started/will start to split PvE and PvP skills, that being some of my skills will work differently in The Mists than it will in Tyria.
The whine would be massive, from both ways. For example, Elementalists being really strong in PvE, doing a lot of AoE damage and healing, while in PvP the damage is reduced, and as well as the healing, some utilities and whatnot might even work diffrently.
Pepople who will duel in the PvE world would whine a lot about Elementalists being overpowered, while Elementalist players would defend themselves since ‘’We don’t work like that in PvP, we are weaker.’’
And nowhere I said I didn’t like to duel, so don’t put words in my mouth.
but 1v1 will help to BALANCE! ehh this is so easy to understand ;(

What should we discuss about? This belongs to Players helping Players.
Each bleed has its own timer.
“Bleeding (8 1/4 5): 152 damage” means you apply bleeding for 8 1/4SECONDS. The bleeding will do 152 Damage if it stays on the target for the whole 8 1/4 s.
Nothing to really discuss about, I was just posting in the wrong section.
Thanks for all the answers. I think I understand it more, some parts are still pretty blurry though.
I’ve been play the game now since Beta Weekend 1, but I have never really understood how conditions work (talking about the ones that stacks in intensity, like bleeding, vulnerability and confusion.)
When I have played on my Warrior, stacking bleed on enemies. Let’s say I reach 15 stacks, but suddenly they begin to drop down really fast, from stack 15 to like, 3 in 4 seconds.
Does each applied bleed have its own timer?
And what does this mean? Bleeding (8 1/4 5): 152 damage? Does it do 152 damage only? Does it stack 8 times and only does 152 damage? or does it even apply only 1 bleed, doing 152 damage overtime? or what?

I read the story about this. One person did it because he wanted to try making a retro-style platformer game. It wasn’t assigned to him, meaning that he did it in his spare time because THIS IS WHAT HE DOES FOR FUN, not because he’s being paid to do it.
Of course, being an MMO, a lot of people don’t know what “doing it for fun” means.
I’m sure it was a she.
I forget the name of the dev mentioned, but either pronoun is acceptable when talking about people in general.
Nope, I was wrong, and decided to delete my comment since I didn’t look it up. His name was Delly, I just remembered it sounding pretty girlish (Sorry Delly.)
They pretty much can’t make duels because the game simply isn’t balanced around 1vs1. Mesmers, Thieves, and Elementalists would be the top dogs in duels, creating even more massive whine on the forums than it already is around these professions.
And where should you have duels? Now that ArenaNet have started to split PvE and PvP skills, I don’t see the point to have duels in the PvE world, since duel is a PvP thing.
It looks like some people are mistaking the Cultural armours for the Order armours.
Tier 3 has always costed 119 gold in total. It was the Order armours who were very cheap for some time, only costing 50 – 80 silver per piece.
Tier 3 was never more ’’affordable’’ than it is now.
Though, it is FAR more affordable now because how easy it is getting gold compared to before.

I’m not glass cannon, I’m actually a Bunker Guardian…
Though I seem to have found the problem. It was not one Mesmer, but two, with very similar names (obviously playing together) and they both used the shatter spell on me, with all their clones up.
What interests me is that Moto seems to take a small interest in ‘’An Adventure Box in every Tyrian household’’ when he has the conversation with a human.
Something that might get added in your personal home instance?
I want to save the princess in a top hat.
Like a Sir.

Would you mind posting a video or screen shots on how you were able to jump to the frogs?
I know about the check point one but I was unable to find any ledges to get any closer.
It’s actually all the way up in the tree trunk where you jump on the mushrooms, if you know what place I mean.
Can you world-out this way?
I didn’t try that, maybe I should have? <.<
When I did it, it looked like you could get over the mountains at some part but I were focused to kill the frogs.
I can go back and try again then if you want…
Only if you promise to not suspend me 8D
Edit: Now when I tried to go back up there I didn’t seem to be able to…

You should put ALL SPvP matters as top priority, because if you want GW2 to have a feature, you must do it. Otherwise it will die very soon. Everyone is saying that, because it is sooooo obvious.
I do not doubt you’re working, but you are working slow with wrong priorities. Wake up.Working on every PvP feature we want concurrently is obviously not feasible. Everything must have a different priority. Dueling is a feature that could happen anywhere in the game, and could be picked up by a team other than the sPvP team. As far as our team’s priorities go, dueling is certainly not above custom arenas, spectators, shout casting, split queues, etc. I know everyone may want a specific feature first like dueling, and it sucks we can’t please everybody at once, but that’s the priority we’re working with.
How is that list of (mostly) basic features still so long when this game launched at the end of august 2012?
I wouldn’t call those features basic, but I can fully understand that they’re expected from the community after seeing other games like Smite or LoL. Those companies were dedicated to those games from the start though, while we at ANet were, and still are, making a massive MMO.
And I understand – I’m not trying to be a prick, or come across as entitled prat, but lets face facts – roughly 8 months is a long, long time to go with such sparse PvP improvements. You’ve done some shoe-string balancing (Much of it hotly debated, some of it probably in need of being reverted), added a single round tourney mode, added matchmaking that doesn’t separate solo queue and team queue, added 2 maps (one of which gives a single class a pretty large advantage), and added 5v5 servers. Since the last week in august to today – that’s not an impressive list. I listen to a SotG, then the next patch comes out, and the 2 couldn’t be more disparate – all these great ideas are bandied about, and come delivery time, we get almost nothing. I really like your game, but it’s getting harder and harder to ignore the gaping holes behind the pretty facade. The game went from populated and fun to a nigh ghost town in comparison, its pretty clear something isn’t working. Comparing what PvP has gotten compared to what PvE has gotten since launch is an extremely disheartening process.
Is it a money problem? A manpower problem? Be straightforward with us – most of us still like this game, and want to like it more – if you need more money, give us things to spend money on – I appreciate the fact that you don’t ask me to pay a monthly fee, but I’ve been buying Dye packs just to make sure you guys get a bit of money for all the server time I occupy – not because I’m crazy about dye’s, but as a PvPer, its one of the very few things in your store that I can even potentially use.
Well, I get the feeling that not enough people are interested in PvP, and that is why PvE get all the new added stuff, because it’s there all their money is coming from.
They don’t have to hurry with PvP since it’s not there the money comes from.
Did you happen to have 17 stacks of confusion on you?
No, I was standing still when a group of Phantasms ran up to me from behind and exploded, downing me.
Is it bugged again? I’m getting one-shotted by them :S
You can avoid it without dodging? I must check that out :o

The gem only pop out when he looks to the right, or left, before he does his stomp. The sad part is that he sometimes starts with doing his tongue thing, and there is no way to avoid it without dodging, or throwing a gem :P
Happend to me 5 times in a row now that he starts with the tongue thing, and I have to restard xP
@ Farzo.8410
You killed all 9 toad minions?
Edit: 9 minions, went back and checked.
All the ones above him? Yes, I had to find the way up first though, it took some way before I knew what way I could take.
That was hard though.
That is, you can throw the gem at the smaller frogs, but you can also wall climb up above them and kill them off with the stick.
Edit: I think I did a mistake here though, the first time was without the frogs. Killing the smaller frogs with the gem takes a lot of time, so there is no way I could have done that in 3:32,2 minutes.
(edited by Farzo.8410)
Right, tried your hard mode + adding my goals. I beat the whole level on 03:32,2 minutes.
You just need to hit the gem once, and that is when he peers to either left, or to the right, there is no need to spam attack it :P
@ Farzo.8410
That’s a bit too hard since there is no “dodge” for this achievement. Also its meant to be hard mode, not extreme mode. I don’t mind if they use any of the stones during the “King Toad” boss fight.
Doing some Test Runs to make sure its balanced out but I may add another minute to the criteria to give some lee way.
Hard because there is no dodge? Just jump on the smaller leafs when he makes his attacks :P
I would like to add two things.
- Do not use the big platforms to left and right, you may only use the big center one.
- Do not stand on the stones in the poison water.
This is my experience meeting an Elementalist
I still believe Jon Peters dominated the battle with his Signet Warrior because he knows how to play
Bluxgore speaks the truth. Also keep in mind – there are MANY opinions on the forums about what we should be working on. It’s hard to say “the players want X”, because normally, there’s very little consensus on what players actually want. We try to make as many people happy as we can with each update, but it’s nearly impossible to please everyone all the time. This is true in life as well.
Simple solution: implement new type of topics beside normal and Q&A: the poll.
So a user can start a poll called “What feature in SPVP are you waiting most?” and player will vote. That willbe an easy, quick and polite way to know what players want.
Isn’t it?
Another problem is that the poll will not be seen by everyone since the majority does not use the forums :P
Neither, since everyone and their mother got Twilight or Sunrise.
I want Flameseeker Prophecies.
