I’d sell it. With a lot of gold you can get almost any armor and the nice-looking race armors and buy weapons that look far better than the legendaries.
Things I miss from GW1:
1. Many skills to pick from to make your own build.
The one-build-per-weapon system just feels bland and can get boring. Traits and utilities seem just very little we can customize compared to picking 8 skills from 100s of skills. It gave you the option to run crazy builds.
Also, every class has the same skills per weapon and the only thing that sets them apart are traits, equipment, chosen set of utility skills and race. And with the lack of a secondary profession, it diminishes the uniqueness of a certain mesmer or warrior even more.
2. 15k/10k armor.
These armors usually were the better-looking standard armor which was great. In GW2 everything is different.
3. Unique weapons from bosses.
It gives the world a greater definition and makes bosses more memorable.
Here you encounter champions and veterans and the only thing that is striking is that champions are a little bigger usually and have much more HP. There are no real memorable bosses besides some of the so-called ‘world’ bosses.
4. Capturing elite skills.
The elite skills in GW2 are fairly nice, but the fact that you cannot capture it from some distant boss, denies a greater PvE experience imo. The skills are easily obtainable and don’t leave an impression unlike in GW1 where you knew that this elite skill was obtainable only in some areas, mostly tougher areas and from certain bosses, making these bosses and elite skills more memorable.
5. Random Arenas.
Currently it’s either a zergfest or a capture fest. Whatever happened to gladiator-style where the team who is wiped out loses.
6. Large scale missions.
This required that you teamed up with certain memorable characters or other players to continue with a part of the story and it was necessary for you in order to get to higher-end areas (except for the prophecies). And you got rewarded for completing the mission in a certain way (challenges) that added great gameplay.
The chapters in GW2 are small and become tedious to do with so many of them and with the constant different level requirements. Moreover, you get rewarded no matter how you do it, as long as you complete the chapter.
Also, because the areas in which these chapters happen are areas you can walk on any time, it looks as if nothing ever happened there when you do.
Lastly, there is no replay value, on the same character, of a certain mission/chapter after you have done them all.
There are probably more things I find better designed and more fun to play with in GW1 that I can’t think of atm.

ANet promotes this as a skill-based game, so equipment has little to do with it.
The final and concluding answer is no.
It’s pretty obvious.
The thief
No, just no. You have disgraced the serious norn with these funny names.
Atlantis Atalanta
Quit threads don’t lead to productive discussion therefore reported.
Would it be acceptable to you if he didn’t state he quit but instead stated that this thread is about what he finds needs improvement?
Hey, if the charr never attacked to begin with, Orr would still look…amazing and not like crap…
Anyone else want to see what Orr looks like restored?
Apparently it looked like heaven
Overall it’s bad a game. Especially if you compare it to GW1. Still, it’s enjoyable with its scenery and sounds. The achievement system however, depletes my soul.
…Holy crap we may learn what heaven looks like if the charr invade that place.
Yeah, that’s an unfortunate charracteristic of the charr.
First beta and then a couple of days ago.
I am convinced that the carrot on the string is rotten.
We need a system of rebirth and a level cap raise to 200
You got people in real-life asking for money who aren’t even homeless or jobless. Be vigilant and just say no.
There should be 100-man raids where it gets laggy as hell and everyone’s PCs display a blue screen after several seconds in.
Oh scratch the Fire Islands. A northern map in Ascalon, around lvl 70, has that firey theme already.
A positive memorable moment in GW2, you got it.
In Diessa Plateau finding some kind of puzzle near that big statue/sculpture before the waterfall. It really added a sense of mystery and really brought out the feeling that the world is rather big and filled with adventures you can partake.
Finally someone with an eye for ambience.
I really want to see areas in GW2 with the ambience that maps in GW1 had.
To name a few:
-Echovald Forest
-Jade Sea
-Desolation
-Crystal Desert
-Vabbi
-Fire Islands
I’d have to say when I faced undead Prince Rurik near the end of Prophecies.
Oh wait, wrong game.
The most memorable moment in GW2 was that after killing countless of karkas I had not got a single drop.

ANet could even look at GW1 for some good ideas → unique items from bosses
I really want an expansion pack for GW1
Anet has changed its course with GW2 a lot of times during previous development and today. I can’t wait to have my heart ripped out by not ever introducing Cantha in the GW2 world.
The lady threatening to cut Charr in Maidens Whisper Tavern in DR is unpleasant
Have you called PETA yet?
Axe + Mace for if you really want to stop your foe.
Greatsword on the other hand for if you want to rush towards your foe.
That’s not a moan, that is the sound of a woman awestruck by the wondrous world around.
And then you go on to address the things you only see. Good riddance.
I do think that the traditional questing system adds great value to the game’s sense. Like the quest given by a certain NPC for you to go collect 10 apples from trees that are infested with spiders, still leaves an impression that can resurface later in the story. Maybe she’s dead in the Mists, who knows how naughty she was.
Although the wall of text being replaced by an audio track or even a cinematic would fare better.
Does the rare secret boss spawn somewhere here?
OP makes some valid points. I am sorry that you regard things you don’t like to hear as crying.
I, as a Norn, have no problem with jumping puzzles whatsoever.
I’d rather have traditional questing system over this daily and monthly achievements that provide you with useful items. At least questing systems have some sort of story to it and adds greatly to the world’s image.
Is this jumping puzzle part of the rare boss?
True, I am confusing the GW2 ranger with the GW1 ranger.
My apologies.
I’d rather have daily deaths.
Rangers were pretty much useless besides traps. But I like to bash professions, so don’t take my word for it. Listen to countless other testimonies of my fellow GW1 players.
It’s a rare boss so the shadow behemoth and other worldly bosses that appear every 3 hours or so are probably out of the list of possibilities.
It’s a rare boss, so probably at a hidden location or at places where people don’t go often.
Possibly at the end of a chain of events.
Or it’s a particular event that only gets triggered after a certain chain of events.
Possibly an underwater boss.
Maybe it’s located at a place where nobody or barely anyone goes to.
Located at a secret place.
Rare boss plays hide and seek, possible at a place where nobody goes to.
The boss is in a room and has sent his servant to hide the key somewhere in the world.
Are there any items involved in this chain of events that one needs?
People probably don’t even go near the spot this boss spawns.
Probably under water in a cave.
Have you checked for secret passages.
Secret underwater passage.
Or perhaps in a cave located somewhere with hidden passages.
Have you checked underwater?
I found jumping puzzles much easier to do with the Norn. Camera issues? Doesn’t bother me the slightest.
Why do they force you to do dungeons?
Why do they force you to participate in events?
Why do they force you to salvage items?
Why do they force you to complete dailies?Who even forces you to do the monthly achievements?
This topic is pointless.
Of course, it’s not kitten if you enjoy it, right?
As the dragon grows tired after the massive frequent beating, the dragon has little to nothing to offer.
Regarding the playerbase on this matter, shame on……..shame on you for torturing a dragon that, with proper schooling, could be a friendly house pet.
If you paid attention then you’d realize that free world transfers was never the plan. It was only free because of problems with overflow servers and taking on the initial full load of the big worldly rod that was penetrating the servers.
The story ends with a dragon that resurfaced, the thing that caused all this trouble.
Grind Wars 2, that’s all I am going to say with this system. In GW1 it felt like the game was afflicted by a coat of miasma with the arrival of the achievement system and this game is all around it. It’s hard to ignore the achievement system before it completely overtakes your soul and you become a mindless neurotic achievement-fixated drone.
Disappointment after disappointment……………
I miss random arenas. Also, one thing that made GW1 pvp fun was that you could create so many builds. Too bad Anet made it that each weapon gives you a set of skills, which I find to be of a, no offense, kitten tier.
