last night i ran into a thief in the jumping puzzle, he spiked me so i used empower(staff) and my shouts, save yourselves-stunbreak and stand your ground (wich stacks me with buffs and with the alt healing trait and the voice trait for shouts) i got trough the first part of the spike, then used shelter, wich brought me up to 25 stacks might due to the blocking minor trait.

He vanished, so i quickly swapped greatsworded, did the pull (skill 5) and combined it with the leap for blind and then spinned to win (still had about 20 might stacks left)

Ended up with 3 dead thiefs underneath me, 2 wich i hadn’t seen yet. This all lasted no more then a few seconds or smth like that. I felt pretty great after.

I don’t think it’s good to create more %chance to drop rewards. The fractal rings are enough of a pain.

Also: Clock Tower’s platform didn’t move. Because if they did, even the most mundane jump would be impossible due to relativity. Those platforms appeared to be moving very fast, and if you jump, you’d go in a straight line while the platform would curve away from your jumping path.

Correct, you could glitch out of the map and see it from the side, there you see that it’s te actual tower that is moving around, the platforms stay in place, nice piece of illusion ^^

I don’t know what you’re talking about. On SBI, people succeed at this event all the time for the chest. Then, once it’s secured, they don’t defend it to rinse and repeat. There’s plenty of time before that happens, though, to buy your armor.

This is part of what was on the trading post, sold but never reached me.
The dawn obviously being the most expensive. There were bout 10 more weapons then this but those were 2-3 gold each.

I’ve already asked Arenanet that if they don’t want to influence the economy by giving stuff, i’d gladly take the original weapon i found in the karka events souldbound to me. Waiting for a reply.

I really don’t think this is my fault and i would just love to have that chance to go for a legendairy, instead of it being taken away in such a hard way. I’m really poor right now so getting a legendairy is far far away. I have bout 2-3 gold left (altough i’m starting to get a dozen of the required materials in some gifts).

I’m just a player trying to enjoy myself, and this just sucks.

I’m baffled by the ammount of people that want grenth to fail to keep farming those lodestones there. It’s really stupid and getting grenth armor is very hard for this reason.

This needs a fix, failing events should not be more rewarding to any player! Imo the chests from the event bosses need a serious buff, still blues and whites out of them, it’s ridiculous.

Plz make it so players actually want to finish event chains…

i wonder why you ask not to get flamed when making a statement that is just not true, this game isn’t for you, doesn’t mean it’s dieing. Noone is forcing you to play here, if you want to leave, leave, but dear god all the drama, why is it needed? Seems to me you want to be flamed and raged at just to start a pointless discussion. Why don’t you go and look for a game you like instead of wasting your time here.

Oh and on the flaming part. You like wow pvp more because you actually suck and in wow you can grind away your suckiness in pvp, in GW2 you are measured in skill and you fall short. To bad.

i’m kind of tanky support, staff is really good when using the buffs it gives (especially the might from empower, wich trough alt healing is a serious heal aswell. I tend to go for the recharge rather then the lenght of the buffs cause i want to spam them, and the more buffs i have the better the selfheal and tanking.

I did pick up stand your ground aswell sometimes.

And yes it’s fun, i can take on 10 enemies, a few veteran mobs, even tanking champions is ok.

i swap the utility to skill like wall of reflection, shield of the avenger, and other when needed

oh and btw, i play really offensive, i just find this to do more damage then normal offense due to the might almost always being directly at 25, i run berserker/knight gear, bout 40% crit wich becomes 44% with food

having this same problem, when you play with headset and teamspeak, and tone the game sound down to 10%, this deafens you and actually causes pain (and potential damage)

Has been in from launch and not resolved. Feel like this is not taken seriously.

I dislike mounts because the take the attention away from the character to what they are sitting on. I don’t mind speedbuffs, even permanent ones, but i don’t want mounts.

all the items did sell, resulting in around 250 gold, wich i never was able to collect.

It’s not there, and this is 2 weeks ago, i have nothing on the trading post atm, it’s just gone, and indeed i sold the dusk because i expected prices would drop with so many peeps getting one. I then buyordered a dawn and listed it for bout 20 gold profit.

Ok, so i’ve had the amazing luck to get a dusk drop from the karka event chest, and no i wish i hadn’t.

I started trading on the ah with the money i recieved from the Dusk hoping to make more money to be able to buy a legendairy someday. So one day i logged off, 20 ecto’s and bout 10 gold on my character, bout 250 gold worth of stuff on the trading post (including a dawn). Next time i log on, everything on the trading post is gone, so what happened?

First i was thinking, maybe i got hacked, but i have a very secure pc and everything that wasn’t on the TP (aka 20 ecto’s and 10 gold) was still there.

After 2 months of support, while they once even restored my CE items without me asking for it, because they didn’t even read my support message, all i get to hear is we can’t refund anything. I can’t understand that the trading post can just eat your stuff without the devs even taking it seriously. If i would have bought the stuff that disappeared for gems, it’s over 500$.

I would have rather not gotten the dusk then to have gotten it and just be stolen it again a few days later.
I don’t find it reasonable that this game does not have logs of what happens with our money.

This is just a heads up to everyone, don’t put more then half of your current money on the TP, it can just disappear.

p.s. I’m a GW2 fan, and i do really love the game, otherwise this would have forced me to quit. Arenanet has the best game ever, but by far the worst support i’ve ever seen.

They must suck hard to worry about that for AC…

The only thing that need fixing is that DC’s can make runs fail, even for dedicated people, all the rest is ok.

I kind of agree with everything but number 3, but i must stress this:

Arenanet, plz keep on using zerg wiping mechanics for these big events, like the roll on those karka’s, IT’S AMAZING!!!!! Really don’t hesitate to kill people ^^ We had so much fun on teamspeak with our guild!!! (not being sarcastic, it war hilarious!!)

this belongs in suggestions, and no, you can’t have everything you want.
I don’t like this gear either, i may leave for it, but that is the only right i have.

Engineers (and in particular conditions based engineers) need some loving on the skin part. I would love to see the possibility to get a different skin of weapon kits (wich you can unlock with a skin items like the ones for haloween or something)

Or can we at least get a legendairy pistol worth going for, not a party popper wich annoys the crap out of people with it’s sound.

I would like to say i disagree, but the ghastly grinning shield on my back is by far the only one for me. And i’m using an orian pistol for the drops of water effect. So yeah, i do like effects. I think weapons with no effects need to stand out allot more tbh to make their worth.

I, personally, have taken the addition of Ascended gear to be a way of getting legendary stat items in an infinitely easier way than a legendary. Despite what a lot of people seem to believe, Legendaries ARE a step up stat-wise from exotic; yes it is small, and smaller than the step from Exotic -> Ascended but it’s there. (ie: the damage range of The Juggernaut is 1000-1128, where as all exotic hammers are 984-1100)

People were complaining about this, especially given the grind you need to go through and that this is out of reach for your “average” player. Many complaints were also focused on how there is only one legendary of each type (except greatsword) with only one stat layout. In many cases the stats didn’t fit into builds and people were re-skinning their hard worked for legendary over and exotic anyhow and sacrificing the, albeit small, stat advantage for more relevant stats to their build. I haven’t seen to much QQ about this recently but, a month ago I saw complaints about this all the time.

It sounds to me that Ascended armor will be much easier to get: through the dungeon, crafting, WvW, Mystic Forge. So that fixes the “unobtainable legendaries having better stats” problem.

And this is where I agree with your post, it gives Anet the ability to release Legendary stated items with more varying stat loadouts, something the current legendary system lacks.

In all honesty the Ascended gear seems to fix more problems than it creates, and I think people will realize that given time.

What you fail to realize is that there are many of us who were looking forward to challenging content on an even playing field. The real hardcore players for whom skill is king. If you want to know what that kind of content looks like go play in The Underworld in GW. Or if you’re really nuts and think you’re hardcore yourself, Domain of Anguish. In those places it was your team’s skill and build that determined success not some gear check, you could have all of the gear you needed within a day of making your character. The people who want to spend large amounts of time grinding for numbers on their gear in order to do content where their success is determined by those numbers are NOT hardcore players. They are quite the opposite.

You cannot measure skill unless the field is equal, period. I get that people who think GW2’s dungeons are hard won’t care about this content being gated, but we don’t and we will care about dealing with this crummy mechanic.

I know what you mean, i’m a GW1 veteran, and i’d like it to be equal aswell, however we are in the minority. I’m not happy about this, but i think this is what they want to do, and when looking at making money it’s probally the best way to go. I like the fact that the dungeon scales, so unlike wow it doesn’t need to become easier, and when you have full infusion it will be skill based, at least that’s how i read endless, i’m just trying to see their end.

i’m actually against that, they can add more paths np, but not delete others for it, i think they should leave the content they make in

indeed nurse, what disappoints me is how they handle this with releasing information, could have been allot better tbh. But i guess it’s a tactic to get threadmillers interested, i have no idea. In any case, not knowing things is torture for people that are worried (including me)

It’s a theory/idea with ascended gear, if you want it do be like this please support it so A-net sees it.

at this moment, all we know is this:

Infusions are a special new type of Upgrade Component that can only be slotted into special Infusion slots on gear.
There are multiple types of Infusions and Infusion slots. In November, we’ll introduce Offensive, Defensive, and Omni Infusions of Fine rarity from new Mystic Forge recipes. Infusion upgrade types must be paired with their like slot, with the exception of the rare and versatile Omni Infusions which can be slotted into any type of Infusion slot.
For now, Infusions slots can only be found in gear of a new rarity type: Ascended.

I don’t see how these infusions could not be for the dungeon.

@ganzo i think i my theory can be close to the truth, if you read it you may realise that. If it’s not close to the truth it may give A-net the idea they needed.

@Avatar, i agree, but you seem to be thinking the agony will get worse and you’ll need the infusion to counter that and nothing else will change. I think agony will be something you can deal with in the beginning, because the mobs don’t add much more challenge then that agony, but when the mobs get tougher you can progress to counter the effect. And you’ll need it because mobs get stronger, not the condition.

This way:
-There can be serious progression for the hardcore while not affecting the casual.
-All endgame content stays relevant.
-There is no powercreep and while there is a sort of threadmill for those who want it.
-By being endless pve can be really challenging and players can even compete to get the highest possible.

So the questions you are all gonna ask anyway, so i may answer them. I believe these two topics are connected.
-Why are the stats that were runes baked in now.
I think it’s something like green weapons, i think at this moment there isn’t enough difference in stats that really makes weapons unique. You’re not looking at a weapon, you just know you need a berserker exotic pistol. I think they want to have a tool to keep introducing new weapon stats and combo’s, while keeping the weapons at the same level but in stats also unique in their own way.

-Why would they need a stat increase then?
Two reasons: -These weapons aren’t exotics, since they have baked in stats, if they had the same exact stats as exotics they would be worse for this exact reason.
-To get some of the players that are hardcore and progression to try the system.

At this moment we have back slots (of wich we didn’t have an exotic yet so that’s cool, and rings. I believe in some way (maybe not right away but in time) we will be able to exchange exotics for new tier, maybe with a small fee, and i think exotics are ment to disappear (none of the skins of course, but the stats). Exotics are in my opinion the first attempt at max armor wich arenanet realised didn’t work.

-So why would they not introduce all ascended gear all at once?
Have you seen the rage for just 2 items?
I think they are trying to do what is best, and they are testing this with 2 items that aren’t visual, aren’t a reward for anything so far (except maxing jewelcrafting) and are easely reversed if it wouldn’t be working out.

So conclusion: i think (read hope) that this is the power plateau, progression will split be for each instance, content won’t wear out, and we have this great game without power creep (except for this one time now, right after launch) but with progression to suit the hardcore.

I hope to have reignited some hope and passion with some of you, i’ve had to dig deep for it myself.

Ok so there’s allot of speculation about ascended gear right now, and i must admit i was one of the ragers in the beginning. But now i looked into the matter and this is what i think. (or how i think it should be, if A-net want to stay true to it’s original design philosophy, while still catering to the hardcore)

How do you mix the progression with a system that retains a power plateau? This must have been the biggest thought on the devs minds in the last few months, they want to be the biggest and baddest mmo out there, so to achieve this goal they have to attract as many people as they can. Casual and hardcore, pve and pvp. I personally think the GW2 sPvp and tPvp surpasses any mmo out there already. I know this is a matter of opinion, so i’ll keep it at that. But i think that’s why they aren’t changing anything.

So how do you create a system where everyone is equal and yet everyone can still progress. It’s a hard task to achieve. Progression usually means that some people progress faster then others and get ahead of them, and often it’s nearly impossible to catch up. So how do you solve this problem?

First question, should people have to do dungeons to obtain the highest level or armor in game? I think the answer here should be no. And seeing this post: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/A-message-from-our-Studio-Design-Director-Chris-Whiteside has kind of convinced me that there will be other ways to obtain this gear, aka it will not be in this dungeon alone. I don’t think it’s their intention to make this new armor type exclusive. So what is the deal then, and to this i think i got the anwser. Infusions. I think the new armor that will be introduced will be the new max armor, and stay that way, because of this.

Think about it, to reach further in to the neverending dungeon and difficulty levels, you will need to get infusions that counter agony. You get a bit stronger so you get a bigger chance to reach far in the dungeon. To be the best. Add achievements and unique but of course not more powerfull rewards to the higher lvls and people will be going for them, while still having anti-agony stats go up that better your chances.

And when the next tier comes, agony isn’t an issue, but in some mysterious way ^^ “mind controll” now is a big issue. Time to infuse against mind-controll then. I think infusions will be changeable like you change weapons, not destroying eachother when you put others in your armor. So you keep your progress in each part of the game you progress in, one doesn’t negate the other and one doesn’t make the progression in another part worthless, cause for example if you would want to go back into the fractals dungeons you would still need the agony infusion, and if you go into another “endless dungeon” you would need the other infusion, so this way you can progress into each different endless, while not needing the infusion in any other part. (well i think WvWvW may be different, to add some progression there, i don’t really like the idea, but i guess maybe an infusion that reduces siege weapon damage(read player damage doesn’t change) by 1% for each infusion could be acceptable while not that influencing, these would of course be bought with marks of honor)

I’m quite confident this assension has something to do with the new mobs they are introducing, somewhat muursaat like. And that the extra stats will effect only the lost shores zone and the dungeon vs these monsters. I also encourage armor that has same stats but 0,0000000000000001 chance to spawn a gigantic dragon to kill everyone in a zone.

But if this (unlikely) is the start of a gear threadmill, i guess this is where it ends…

Ok, so i got into Guildwars 2 today and i tried the mystic forge a bit, and i got lucky. I recieved a few nice items, under wich an exotic staff named “Deathwish” wich had a very cool skin. So i placed everything on the trading post and went afk, coming back to check on those items in a regular fashion, all together there was 20g of items there (well about 20 g if they all would sell or something) At a certain point there i got disconnected but i didn’t really think anything by it.

After an hour or 2, i was watching a movie, i tried to log back in and it gave an error (can’t really remember wich because i just wanted to get in and clicked it away) after that i tried a second time and could log in. So i wanted to travel to Orr then, and noticed i couldn’t pay the full travel cost. This was weird to me cause i had about 1 gold when i went afk before. Suspecting something was up i checked the trade post and there is nothing listed in there. I’m a bit concerned now tbh. Are my items gone?
Did someone get into my account? (I already changed my password now to something i don’t use anywhere, and i also changed my mail password to something different, and i ran a full virus scan.) The weird thing is i never recieved one of those mails that someone is trying to log in from another spot.
Is there anything you can do or did i just loose all my money?

WvWvW is a ton of fun, and since you clearly haven’t tried it you shouldn’t talk about it.

I love this game, but i’m having a real issue with something atm. To get a good sound of my teamspeak i often turn the game’s master sound to 10%. I don’t turn it because i love the soundtrack. A friend of mine does however, and still he has the same problem.

At some point (mostly around oozes or when water is around, or some earthquake effects) some sound plays at 100% no matter what the settings are. This is really not so cool cause when i’m playing all of a sudden the sound will rise up, half-deafen me, and make me unable to communicate with people on teamspeak. The only solution my friend has found is to turn the game off completely with outgame soundmanagement, if he puts 0% ingame he has the same problem. Now i can’t play without sound, it doesn’t feel right, but this is freaking me out, cause at one moment i’m just playing normally and another my headphones explode.
