True, but then that is a huge risk, i still need to make ascended gear for some other chars, and wasting it on something you’d like to try, that seems like wasting a whole lot of money.

I don’t see a reason either, Celestial gear is some of the most fun to experiment with cause it uses all stats, even if that’s bad for some classes, it should be available nonetheless, it has no special requirement in pvp, yet in pve and wvw it’s gated for no reason.

Why the hell is celestial gear still timegated? Why was it even timegated in the first place. For most classes it’s even worthless, but say you want to experiment with celestial gear, you just can’t because you first have to do something daily for 30 days. This has no place in the GW2 philosophy… Right now, i would love to do some experimentation with celestial guardian, just for the fun of it, idc if people say it’s bad. But i can’t cause there is still a timegate on one type of armor, for no reason at all. I get that you put time and effort into ascended gear, but exotics, of any type, should be just instant purchaseable.
I’m waiting to have fun here…

i thought it would be nice to have a book about all events in LS1 in the Durmand Priory and/or the library in Divinity’s Reach, so when people are interested they can read what happened out of the view of a scholar.
Or you have one NPC in the cities tell you the whole story, when talking to them.
I think it is far easier to make this than make videos with actual voice acting about it, to inform the new or returning players.

Iunno, reading a book about a game inside the game to find out what’s already happened in the game…

apart from anything else, this game doesn’t have a very good ‘book’ interface built in, and it would be likely a reasonable amount of work to implement one.

The video cutscenes in this game are mostly static images as is, they could do one of those to quickly run through the events of s1, or at least the important bits which the LSS2 ties back into.

of course, i can’t guess how easy or difficult it would be but it would mostly be an art team thing, which maybe? is easier to pull off at this stage of development of the expansion?

I mean’t that’s a good idea that wouldn’t cost to much time and can go really into detail if you want. Of course youtube video would be better. Ingame cinematic would be even better.

I just want to give some feedback, i find the shiro legend skills that dodge back and jump forward again, the one with the clouds, visually not very nice. I don’t really understand it because the sword 3 skill’s smoke actually looks awesome. I would expect simular smoke effects with the utility 1 and 2 on shiro legend.

Golem Rush Feedback Mega-Thread

I’m having a blast during this event, the amount of golems is awesome and hilarious. I think you guys just need to remember this is a game and try to have some goofy fun every once in awhile.

You wouldnt say that when players are cheating with the golem bug right now. you gain the damage buff to players without being in a golem. I ran into a guardian with the buff who one shotted me with his auto attack. But your right a game is supposed to be fun but getting owned repeatedly by this cheat is not fun. Its down right griefing new players like me. Im sad I even taught wvw could be fun. Yup I am a noob only rank 50 but even with my guild mates the rewards and the current event makes me meh about wvw.

Ill go back to PVE and make a lot more gold with better rewards. With some fun events and such.

Nobody is forcing you to play you know, if you don’t like it, take a break for a week, this event is fun imo, even with some weirdness going on. If anything this is the perfect time to get some classes you haven’t lvled to 80 cruising around in a golem, and it only lasts a week, so what’s the harm. If you really are so stuck up that you can’t get over it just pretend the servers are down for a week for all that i care.

Let's talk about underwater.

The answer is not quite as simple as, let us use our weapons from above the water, underwater, but it’s not far from it. For example the warrior. Let’s say you have sword shield equiped. Basicly every skill on that weapon setup, except for savage leap, can be executed underwater in my opinion, your flurry, AA chain, final trust, basicly all are just basic attacks like a warrior would use currently with his spear. Same with shield bash for a stun, or blocking with the shield, that should still be possible underwater, even the burst skill flurry, perfectly possible. The only problem here is the movement based savage leap, but as we have seen before, leap skills are also possible underwater, Tsunami Slash on the spear (i know everyone will have to either look this up or check it ingame) is a simular charge skill. It’s not entirely the same but it comes close to it and i’m sure a simular thing can be used for savage leap. The point i mechanics above water can be replicated in a sort of simular way underwater.

Of course my example was a bit simple, what about fields for example. These are more difficult examples, but then again many of the current skills on for example the trident for elementalist, use a targetted mechanic in wich makes a bubble or lightning cave, or steam pocket. Now i know it would be way way harder for example to make the staff viable underwater, but let’s try. Fireball and magma orb are pretty much the same, so we got that down. Lava font and boil are also pretty simular, lava font is cast on the floor but underwater it turns to a target skill cause there is no floor. Flame burst is just a burn, underwater doesn’t stop heat from burning you, so np there, burning retreat can leave behind boiling water like the boil we have atm, maybe a bit more made clear, instead of a line of fire and meteor shower can be sort a cone effect like the underwater guardian pilar atm, or smth close to that. Anyway it would be possible to translate skills into simular looking, or at least skills having the exact same effect underwater. Skills like ice spike and dragon’s tooth? Have them be targetted and do less damage. And that brings us to blasts. If fields above water are still fields below water, blast finishers should act simular. Of course most blasts, like the hammer, or the dragon tooth i just mentioned, would have to actually hit something to cause effects. So when a warrior ground smash become a targeted smash that does for the rest exactly the same, with a bit less damage cause you don’t have to aim, if the target is inside a field bubble, have it be the same, or also less effect cause it’s targetted, but also have it interact with that field. Another example, elemental weapons, have them spawn near whoever you target, friendly or enemy, and float there. If you have no target they spawn near you, or they always spawn near you, what works best. Ranger calling birds can even be call the pyranya’s so that beautifull thing isn’t lost. :p

Now i know i may be stretching here, but i feel like almost all skills can be fixed up in simular ways. Elementalist being the hardest, and proffesions like warrior and thief being the most logical. There will still be some immersion breaking effects, how do guns work underwater and how does ranger fire bow and simular stuff. Hell maybe you can make spearguns available underwater skins for both guns and bows i don’t know.
And yes blowing a warhorn underwater is silly. But it’s not as silly as having an entire different skill set underwater, wich makes me , and i know i’m not the only one, drag anything i need to kill there onto land if i can. The only thing that feels kind of natural about going underwater is the drowned state, but hey, maybe we even need to review that. As long as we don’t touch shark ranger pets. :p

Going underwater should feel like an extension of your current skill setup, sure with some changes about the skills to make them work in the environment you are playing in, but not give you a set of completely new ones. At least that’s how i feel about it.
Skill 1 does bleed on every 3rd auto, underwater it does the same. Skill 3 blinds, underwater it does the same, skill 5 created a burn and a blastable field, and skill 2 can blast that field, then yes, underwater it should do the same. I know this is allot easier to talk about then to actually be able to put in the game, but i’m trowing this out there, just because i believe the ocean is the next frontier now we are seeing the sky with the glider incoming, and i think we need our regular skills, if needed adjusted in some order to fit the environment, not an entire new bar.

IN SHORT: the underwater skills should reflect your actual skill build on land, not give you an entirely new bar. Gameplay funtionality over gimmick of underwater weapons.

Ok, so the game has been out for quite some time now.
The first expansion is coming up, wich will of course take up allot of dev time, but when that launches, i think we should have a look at how the underwater system works. Cause if one thing is clear, it kind of doesn’t work at all. People don’t like underwater combat, and this is a problem, mainly because we have a big bad dragon in the seas.

This expansion may play around the water problem brilliantly but future ones will have a harder time (well not the desert one of course, but you know, future ones in general)
So why do people not enjoy it, why is it not effective and why did the pvp and wvw maps with allot of water get removed. The answer is underwater weapons.
Underwater weapons are a complete new set of weapons you get when being underwater, they do totally different things, they have totally different skill orders, wich you have to learn, all for fighting underwater. And that’s just not realistic imo.
You cannot expect a player to learn an entire new set of ability’s just for this aspect of the game.

So how do we fix it? Sadly, underwater weapons have to go, in some way. (If they were removed in theory all tridents could become staffs, and spears, well maybe in the future we have javelins and we can merge that up, otherwise i don’t really know but anyway.)
We really need the underwater and above water experience for classes to be simular if we ever want meaningfull water combat in GW2. The good thing is the mechanics are already there. And if looked at and used effectively, gw2 water combat could be fun again, ready for when we effectively get to the deepsea dragon so we can have an epic fight with him after his tsunami hit tyria and destroyed lions arch again (you know it’s happening).

Why does our whole skillbar change with new skills when we dive into the ocean when basicly some of these skills, do exactly the same. Granted yes there is some aditional flavor added by having a ranger use pyrania’s, or by having a guardian summon a spirit ankor that drags you down, it looks cool at first, but is it at this point adding something to the game? In my honest opinion it’s doing the opposite, when a player in GW2 dives into the water 90% of the times his reaction will be, oh right underwater weapons, i have to look at my skills again. And this is not ideal, it breaks fluent gameplay and we don’t go in the water enough to learn them. So how can this be solved, especially with eyes on future expansions, where we may have more need of underwater combat.

Why is it always with mmo’s that people start kittening about having to try a few times to get something down. So many single player games have hard boss battles you have to try over and over to nail, but in an mmo, where you can actually ask for help, it has to be served on a plate.

It’s easy. Revenant is Shiro’s clever idea that he tricked Rytlock into thinking was his own plan. Once he’s channeled and plans to slowly take over the minds of all the Revenants and will raise an army of Shiro Revenants and take over the world. Good luck “heroes”, soon you will be helping him take over the world.

Honestly i think they should have weapon skills have cooldown and let the utilities be all about energy. So you know when i use the right side of my bar i have to pay attention to energy, and when i use the leftside i have cooldowns. I think otherwise if they are gonna make us swap both sides of our bar it’s gonna be confusing imho.

No, actually, it isn’t available. Yes, the link claims to be a recap trailer, but it isn’t. It’s a teaser trailer that doesn’t actually tell you anything. All you get out of it is that you missed blowing up some giant clockwork things and that there is an evil, female villain.

Whatever info is out there (the releases are hardly enough info imo) the real problem is that there is no link ingame to it, wich leads to google searches and being spoiled. There needs to be at least something.

i agree. This needs to happen. LS1 set the stage for LS2 and without that background, it would be extremely confusing.

I’d also advise finishing your personal story before starting the living story, just because everyone in the living story acts like you already have. so if you’re stuck on the battle of claw island and all these pact soldiers are congratulating you on your defeat of Zhaitan, it can be a bit immersion-shattering

Yeah, i personally think accounts should have at least 1 main char completing the personal story before being able to buy the living one.
But the information is the most important, maybe just include that in the youtube video, if you haven’t finished the personal story, go do that first or smth.

Hall of Monuments Update?

I’ll go ahead and comment on this thread, as it seems to be the most recent of the HOM ones.

I’ll try to explain this without getting too technical, and some parts are probably going to have to be left out.

The bug that caused players to unlock achievements/skins/titles and achievement points was caused when the GW1 server that stores the HOM status talks to the GW2 server that controls new character creation. Basically it was sending bad data to the GW2 server, and unlocking achievements that should not have been unlocked.

This means that there were multiple problem points that need to be cleaned up. The first thing to be cleaned up was the bug that caused this to happen, and that was fixed within a few hours. However, the removal of the rewards is an entirely different problem.

We don’t have the tools to easily mass remove achievements/titles, which means it’s something that has to be developed. Unfortunately, this came at a time where our resources are tapped to the max, so it’s taking longer than we would like to fix this.

Thankfully (lol), when the HOM rewards bug was happening, the actual HOM was not accessible, and those players were not able to claim any other HOM entitlements…so the damage was somewhat limited.

We are working on this, I assure you, and we will remove the rewards from players that should not have received them. I do not have a timeframe, as modifying accounts at this type of level is not something we would ever take lightly, and as long as we keep a majority of the entitlements locked there is less for us to clean up.

I really don’t care if some random person get HoM rewards tbh. They aren’t that big of a deal… You are basicly locking the content for everyone, just because some people got rewards they don’t “deserve”? Who cares, HoM skins are neither prestigious or rare to see in the game… Just reopen it, if it won’t happen again, just call the people that got it lucky and move on. But don’t lock it. If there is anything that is not worth putting rescources in it’s removing these.

Players can’t rage about it cause there is no way to know it that person actually had GW1 HoM rewards or not. Just flip it back on and don’t try to fix something that doesn’t need fixing…

CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SEASON 2, DON’T READ IF YOU HAVEN’T PLAYED IT.

As i recently played trough the living story season 2 again because a friend just started playing the game and finished the personal story, and asked me to tag allong, i noticed a big gap in information that i had to fill in for him. Basicly at the start of living world season 2 you have this whole new group of people that just came out of nowhere and call you “boss” and everywhere you hear about scarlet. Yet you have no clue who she is.

Now i know living world season 1 would be way more difficult to bring back. But at the start of the first mission of season 2, there should at least be a cutscene about what between the defeat of Zaithen and the start of season 2. I had to fill in many for my friend, and when the name Mordremoth was first mentioned, he asked me about that, and just to check up so i wasn’t telling him anything wrong about the dragon, i looked at the wiki page, and saw that it already said the sylvari were intended to be his minions, wich is a major spoiler for season 2…Same with marjory, if you look up her wiki page you see her sister dies in LW: S2. We need something ingame just telling players what happened. It can be basicly voiced over concept art of the previous living story episodes. Right now a new player who isn’t playing with a friend, is lost in that part of the game, and if he/she tries to find info about it, that info will basicly spoil the entire story wich they payed for… I know this may not be a priority, but i think it should be, even if it’s in some minimalistic form, that would help, for example if it links to a youtube video by arenanet where Collin Sohandsome just talks about it and explains what happened right when you buy it from the gem store so you have at least someone that will explain to you what you need to know without getting any spoilers for the further story.

Making a cutscene would probally take some time and effort, but making a youtube video, or even asking woodenpotatoes or some other guildwars 2 lore nerd youtuber (no offense i love you WP) to do it, and just including the link when you purchase the season 2 story, should be fairly simple to do, and would be such a good thing for new players.
This should be a priority if you want to attract new players to the game, cause they will feel lost without it, or they will have their story spoiled by looking up certain things online, and that’s not the way you want new players to experience the game.

Truth is the OP should have never preordered.
And many people on this forum shouldn’t have.
There is so much still unknown about the expansion and it is all still in testing.
Pre-order is for people who feel absolutely confident this will be worth the price.
I do, because i’ve been playing guildwars since day 1 of the first game and i’ve not been let down. That doesn’t mean i don’t have any feedback to give, and i gave that feedback about the revenant, but the op is clearly not confident in the devs, so why the hell would you not wait a bit for more info…

My thoughts? I’m sick of hearing about the trinity. If players want that, they can return to Warcraft. Please don’t bring that tragedy to Guild Wars 2.

All players want is for not all the game to be so easy bested by 5 zerkers. I think that is a fair request. Imo berserker armor should be something you use when you are in a group that you know can support you wearing it, not for every instance of the game.

People need to really get a good grasp of the difference between viable and optimal.

Currently everything is pretty much viable. You can clear a dungeon with 5x Zerkers, and you can clear that same dungeon with 5x Clerics. That’s viable.

It’s faster with 5x Zerkers than it is with 5x Clerics. That’s optimal.

Enforcing roles or forcing certain itemsets other than zerkers (or other equally squishy sets i.e. Rampager) will diminish the pool of builds that are viable. But we will still be stuck with only 1 setup that is optimal.
And considering profession imbalance, this could very easily push certain professions out of being viable, or into very specific roles.

Even if say a zerker Guardian was viable, but Clerics Guardians were much needed, people would force Guardians to go healers because that is what’s needed and refuse Zerker Guardians on principle. Something i’ve seen all to well and all to often in another big, popular, trinity game.

Just be glad that currently you can play the style you like and still get through that dungeon just fine. That being said boss fights can certainly be a lot more interesting. Any fight that is essentially “solved” by stacking in a cornor and wailing on the AI for 12seconds is poorly designed. Currently that would include most bossfights.

You still aren’t getting it. If the optimal way would be let’s say 5 moderately tanky/supp/dps people for a pug, then it gives coordinated groups still the room to do it with let’s say 3 zerkers a tanky member boosting offensive stats on others and a support, and still pull of simular times, or maybe even better, because they are on ts and actively calling for things.

The point is that 5 zerkers works and destroys all combo’s possible.
The optimal way for hard group content should always be on teamspeak with people you know, having some sort of team build that works. If that isn’t the case something in your game is broken.

Not this year. Snails seem like Husein Bolt compared to ANet’s dev team….specially considering they only give us 1-2 maps + 1 new class + a few scraps in this 50$ expansion.

Seriously stop claiming things you don’t know, the only thing we know is there is 1 new class, wich is standard for MMO expansions. On top of that all classes get elite specs, wich makes it already a better update then most mmo expansions in terms of player classes. We have no idea how many maps there will be and how big they will be.
If you are unsure it’s worth 50 dollars just wait for more info but don’t start shouting it’s not enough when we know nearly nothing about it yet.

As for the speed, i want serious content, like i’m used to having in gw2, not the half baked rushed out expansions blizzard is doing, so yeah i’m willing to wait to enjoy it.

It’s simple imo. Full zerk party’s have to go.
Now hold your horses. I don’t mean you should be able to play the way you want. BUT if 5 full dps specced people can clear the content, then clearly that is the only build that is gonna be required, and you have the same problem as we have now. Being there is no hardcore content, wich is why people are excited they are bringing some in HoT.

Group content should be at a difficulty level that if you want to go full zerker, fine, but do not expect to be able to survive without someone supporting you. If you don’t wanna wait on someone supporting you, weave some support into your own build, sacrificing damage but being able to survive.

Legendary Centaur Stance:
Not going to go over the skills here cause this one needs allot of work imo. I like the idea of moving your skills with the tablet, and it certainly has potential, but atm all skills feel really underpowered and worthless. The heal from the tablet itself it to little, and the skills around it just don’t function well atm. I do see huge potential for WvW in this legend so i hope it becomes something nice.
One piece of feedback would be not to despawn the tablet when swapping legends, maybe have it just stay there and heal a little, or maybe have it fall on the ground not being empowered, but having to cast the tablet each time after even swapping around legends for a stunbreak, is so not worth it.

Traits:
Overall i’ve enjoyed the trait lines but i feel the skills need more work before i can really get into this all to much. Not that i didn’t experiment but overall the result didn’t get me excited.

How it plays:
I think overall everyone who tested the revenant can confirm he’s been having a rough time. The class feels really underpowered. Of course this is just the first of many tests and i have high hopes for the class. As of right now tough, while having a good idea, it feels underpowered, lacks healing and dps, and most of all lacks a bit of choice. I feel this class may get boring fast if there isn’t enough to play around with. Now i know there are still weapons and legends coming, but i’m talking about the 1 weapon locked utility model. I feel it will get old really fast and more so then other classes, there will be only few options to play it.
If you have 5 legends for example it feels like there will only be 5 options in utility and that may not be enough, especially when forcing a certain weapon onto us by not being able to swap.

Potential:
Now after all i’ve said here, i want to stress the potential i see in this proffesion. The lore seems really cool and the skill visuals already look amazing. As a WvW and Pve guy i can’t wait to play the revenant in both these scenarios when he’s finished. I’m a big fan of heavy armor classes in general.
I don’t usually go for what is normal in my builds tough, and lack of diversity would really hurt my interest in him. I’m curious of the support style play, and eager to see wich weapon can bring out the big numbers.

Mace/Axe:
Overall a cool weapon set, seems to rely more on condition damage so i ran it with Condition crit toughness. Had some really fun times with it and seems to be the only thing doing a good amount of damage. Altough being melee it’s super hard due to the revenant being a paper armor class, but more on that later.

Misery Swipe-Anguish Swipe-Manifest Toxin: 2 torment and a poison attack, hell yeah. Just what i wanted from it.
Searing Fissure: Nice skill visually, a field, and a good range. Good skill overall.
Echoing Erruption: Also a very nice skill, 3 blasts, good for combo with the previous one, i even found that if you dodge back after Searing fissure then use it, you blast 3 times in your own field
Frigid Blitz: Very cool engage mechanic altough i often used it just out of range, just felt it would go further. Chill is nice.
Temporal Rift: Nice Visuals, Good that is also has torment, Pull in is way to inaffective, this skill should either cripple or really pull back.

Overall i feel Mace axe is the for the moment furthest developped weapon and i really like it. It still lacks a bit of cc and can be kited really easy imo.

Legend Mechanic:
Ok so let’s talk about legends, i’ve already said imo they aren’t enough to excuse us having the 5 first skills be locked. Now the mechanic is interesting in a way, but i feel it’s trying to hard to be different. I’m really attached to being able to pick my utilities. The swapping i’m ok with in some sense, but i feel it should be limited and not the entire bar or at least have some resemblence in what each skill does for that bar. For example utility 1 could all be combo fields. This needs structure cause it has none atm. And if i find out both my legends have a combo field and i’m not gonna be able to place it on the same key, i’m gonna be a sad puppy. On top of that, i feel personally that 5 skills/legend is to few. So maybe have a set of 7 for each legend so you can at least have a pick?

Legendairy Dwarf Stance:
I think this is atm the best legend line. It has some good skills and is pretty fun.
Soothing stone: Good heal, retaliation is nice.
Inspiring Reinforcement: Awesome visuals, Stability, Weakness to enemies, Field, check.
Forced Entanglement: Cool visuals again, usefull but misses a little damage.
Vengefull hammers: Also nice skill, good that it’s a channel, cool to manage energy with.
Rite of the great dwarf: I really like this one, defensive and stonecold dwarven visuals.

Legendairy Demon Stance:
Cool visuals again but mainly suicidal, to few reduction on the conditions you absorb.
Empowering misery: Good heal, heals more with the mechanics of the legend, nice idea.
Pain Absorbtion: Again good idea but this is where the line needs tuning, way to much self damage; especially when in bigger groups or combined with any other form of damage.
Banish Enchantment: I love boon removal, bit complicated hooking into a mechanic that really doesn’t work properly yet.
Unyielding anger: Cool skill, only if you have to give yourself a condition, let it not be cripple as a reward for charging into potential big aoe threaths…
Embrace the darkness: Very nice visually, cool idea, needs to copy conditions to foes with attacks or smth, basicly useless with the hammer. Also being that close that it’s worth using with that many conditions is insta death atm.
The problem here may be the numbers, may be more, it looks cool, the idea is cool, the numbers end in painfull death.

Hey all,

This will be mostly a WvW and PvE perspective on this new class, and it’s potential.
Let me start of by just being gratefull we get to see this class this early on and saying personally for myself i love A-Net being open with it’s community.
Now, for the class itself i will make a few points, i’ll try to keep this post structured so it’s easy to go trough as i hope to give some possible and usefull feedback.

Weapons:
Ok so let’s start of with the current weapon options, i’m not gonna discuss any possible future aditions to the class, just the ones that are in play now. But first i would like to get on something really important. The limit of having 1 weapon equiped and no weapon swapping so far. I personally think this is a bad idea in it’s current state.
There is a big problem with the revenant staff and mace and axe lines where they can’t be used if any range is required, and often this is not known up front. I’ve had a few events where i couldn’t do much if i build melee, because the ground was cluttered with aoe. And the hammer feels like it’s to ranged atm to justify 1 weapon for the spec. There is nearly no disengage. I know the whole mechanic of switching legends is supposed to be swapping things enough, but it’s not especially since you use your weapon skills more then any others.
Hammer:Before i get into the skills, can i just say, the feel of this weapon is amazing. It feels really different and awesome. As before mentioned it needs disengage, but for the rest it’s a fine weapon that cracks out some amazing skills.
Hammer Bolt: Ranged auto for hammer, yay, as i said really cool, however if it’s have to say something it’s that i’m trowing a HAMMER projectile. So if it goes trough a fire field, i think my opponent deserves a fiery hammer to the face. That’s just something that would be cool tough, i’d just imagine a projectile arrow behaves different then a hammer when flying trough fire.
Coalescence of Ruin: Visual and mechanics (3 waves, are awesome), maybe the one furthest from the revenant should cripple? Seems like skill that would do more then just do damage when you see the animation.
Phase Smash: Love it, I especially love that you get your boons from the melee range AOE fields without risk :p. Also the chill is nice. Best skill on this weapon atm.
Field of the mists: I like the idea of a mobile block wall, i just don’t know if it’s the place, but if you change skill 5 sure. One big problem with it is that it jumps with your phase smash, basicly breaking the tactical play imo and not allowing you to combo your field and blast finisher.
Drop The Hammer: This one is hard for me to get, it’s way to slow, therefor hard to aim, so easy to get out off even for npc’s… and takes the place of a knockback this class really needs on the hammer. Turn the hammer around, make it smash people away from the caster and i’m all for it. Or at least speed up the animation 3 times of what it is now.
Staff:
While i know some people are really excited to wield the scythe staff on revenant, atm i find the weapon a bit boring, and the worst on revenant in terms of look atm.
As cool as spirit hammers flying to your target is, so uncool is hitting something with a stick. When i think of melee staff combat i think of something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxTvDtU8VaY
Now of course the revenant is not an eastern warrior, but at this moment it feels no different then a hammer in the basic attacks, and in my opinion as an animator, that’s a bit of a problem.

Rapid Swipe-Forcefull Bash-Rejuvenating assault: A bit meh, didn’t even notice the heal or whirl till i read the skill description, bit underwhelming.
Punishing Sweep-Debilitating Slam: While i like the experimentation with the 2nd skill also having 2 parts, staff skills are imo hard to hit and i’ve often found myself missing the weakness due to it being on the second part. Especially vs players.
Warding Rift: Good skill, but pick this one or Renewing Wave, or mix em together.
Renewing Wave: Eh, bit useless. Either combine with Warding Rift or make a field we can blast of.
Surge of the Mist: The only cool skill on the staff imo. Good gapcloser, good skill overall, hard to hit but hitting it feels good.
Other then the animation of the first 2 skills i feel the staff lacks an extra skil. Renewing wave being a damaging and healing field would help.

True, but it’s still unlogical you replace something you own instead of upgrading it. Right now, this systems tells you to not upgrade until you reallly really need it and then upgrade for allot. Wich is kind of not the idea of progression at all. Why not make it so people can constantly add to the item they have instead of this system, wich is kind of stupid.

I just don’t get why none of the GW1 skins are coming back, you don’t need to spend time designing them(only a bit for charr), only creating new models to fit GW2 and many players would like to see them return… You can even do it themed, dragon bash brings back canthan armor, fractured could bring back GW1 asuran armor, and so on. Wintersday now would have such succes having the GW1 norn armor in it. And so on.

You should either be able to unequip the infusions in agony infusion slots (to combine them into better and then put them back in)

Or you should be able to upgrade a ring with +6 in the agony slot, with another +6 infusion and end up with +7.

That’s called progression.

Right now if you want to upgrade a +6 infusion slot to +7 you have to buy the +6 again cause you can’t do either of the above…
I hope this isn’t working as intended since it’s pretty stupid that way.

Fractal is now less for Casual than ever

You can always play at a level that is between yours and your guildies lvl, hence you having still a rewarding fractal with chances of stuff (starts at 10) and they having a chance to lvl and get AR, and AR is even easier to get now since for agony slots on infused rings and backpacks you can buy higher then +5.

There however is a certain lvl you need to have AR for, and that’s not a bad thing, the game is not locking you out of any content cause you can play at the lvl you want.

Congratz on the total disrespect for your own customers Arenanet.
This is just lazy and taking a tier 3, upgrading the looks and selling it in the gemstore is just stupid. Thx for confirming that you actually don’t care about anything but fast money. Even if it costs you people in the long run.

This makes me feel GW2 has a lifespan and they are just trying to get the most money possible out of it. Wouldn’t supprise me if this game took it’s servers down in less then a year tbh. Especially when they are doing this…, it’s so sad…

Spend all of last night upgrading FSP garri, it had WP and was almost finished being fortified when i had to leave, with tons of siege inside to be able to defend it. Wake up in the morning, it’s deso green…

I just wonder why i’m even trying to upgrade stuff anymore. No offense but if you can nightcap a keep that should be defendable with about 10 people or less, unless there are 40+ enemy peeps at night, you shouldn’t be in silver…

That’s the problem with wvw, why defend when you can cap stuff for more PPT and reward? One Zerg with Omega’s at the price they are at on the TP can melt a gate, along with RAMS with mastery, it’s perceived as fun for the server taking the keep but those who defend and upgrade are left wondering why bother.
We’ve been through it ourselves especially me; still it doesn’t excuse how badly balanced this game is.

IDK if we targeted FSP BL for a reason i.e. The alliance, but I think you can help dictate who wins this week without an alliance.

There never was any alliance mate, that’s a fairytale, if anything there was an alliance between deso and gandara, hitting our spawn towers at exactly the same time (talking less then 20 s between deso hitting longview and gandara hitting cliffside) clearly coordinated.

Indeed siege is to strong atm, you can take fully upgraded stuff in minutes.

Odly enough, that sounds like fun, imagine an mmo just resetting so you can do it all over again (the race to 80, lvling, the first takedown of bosses (especially tequatl as he is now with people not all being 80), if they open a reset server, i’d so be up for that :p

Hey there.

I’d like to bring up a topic wich for me as a player who used to pve allot and now is more into wvw, is quite an obvious problem (that is if you are concerned about how your alts look)

In pve, it’s quite possible to keep a few weapon or armor skins around during lvling using the map completion rewards. You get 3/map and since pve has many maps you can bring skins with you from 1-80 quite easy.

If you lvl in Wvw however, (wich is would love to do but can’t atm due to this, cause i’m a skin person :p) transmutation stones are given for completing the 4 maps and then nothing, this is now here near enough to lvl in WvW :/. I don’t want to spend a fortune on things i would get for free in pve, so maybe this is something that could be looked at in the future, maybe give a repeatable achieve for doing wvw stuff (and not the JP’s…, that would award a few transmutation stones, equal to the time investment it takes to map explore? Or put make WvW rank chest give like a chance to get some?
What do you think?

p.s. i’m talking about the ones below 80 not the 80 ones.

Teq is perfectly fine as it is, it’s a world boss, you need to be organised and prepared to kill it. This fight is the best fight in the entire game. World bosses should not be free lootbags, there are many other ways to farm and for creatures of this magnitude it isn’t reasonable to expect to down it every time you do it, or to even take it down with fewer people. Tequatl is something that brings your server together, and in order to do it you need to engage with others in your server and organise it. FSP kills it every day now. It’s not that hard when you get people that care about this amazing experience rather then the achievements and loot and then bug off.

All the dragon fights should be like this.
