You don’t need 20% participation. I got mine at 140%. I am guessing you need 100% at least, which is achievable pretty fast.

At 200% chance it seems guaranteed drop, below it isn’t, the lower you go the less chance it seems.

So it’s been almost 2 weeks since hot released, still no word on resonating fragments (upgraded form of slivers)? This is blocking scribe progress… I’ve also not seen Bolts of Embroided silk. Plz can we get a fix for this issue?

TD is the culprit of MMO crafting. It’s the top of complexity, ingenious design and craftsmanship. But I understand it’s very hard, the mobs are mostly utterly annoying and do sometimes too much damage. 27k shroom explosion or whatever it was on my heavy armored zerker rev is absurd. They really have to tone down some enemies. Also make the meta event a bit easier. Otherwise we will never see this map ever done on a regular basis.

I actually like hard content, but the problem here is, I can’t do it alone, no not even in a group, you need hundreds of people to do it and that’s the problem.

Here’s a tip that will help you understand the game better, zerker gear isn’t “heavy” armor. I know what you’re saying, plate armor,more defense. This is guild wars 2 though, and your armor type doesn’t mean anything. Stop running zerker gear if you are dying, don’t make anet put it back to how it was, zerker or you’re bad.

So much hate for Tangled Depths :/ i love that map, i got so lost in it, and i kittening love it.
Basin, while still being very good, is in terms of map and meta the least cool for me. I think my rank is: Dragon stand best, then tangled, then verdant, then basin

Would like at least some response on this, we’ve waited long enough to at least get something, this was supposed to be a heart of thornes feature, now idc if it’s a bit late or if there’s a problem, but at least let us know…

there’s a reason these things are called meta events, you don’t need to complete them every time, but when you want to they aren’t even that hard. Tangled depths (3rd map) now that is hard, i guarantee you i can map chat command any map i get into on VB before night (if they did the day chains properly) to tier 4 with 5 minutes left. Same for the basin, altough you need commanders for the basin, you really don’t for verdant brink. You haven’t made any serious effort to try and complete this, aka joining a good map, so you have no idea if this is easy or hard. No offense but don’t complain until at least you try…

Also not reaching lvl 2 is pure bull, you reach lvl 2 even when you kill only 1 or 2 of the 5 bosses, depending on wich. Even by accident most maps hit 2. (never seen one not hit 2…)

Ok, so when I go and talk to the Scribe Master he shows a list of “Basic Decorations” but they are locked. It says “Upgrade or capacity requirements not met to purchase this decoration.”

What upgrade does my guild need though? We currently have Workshop 1, Ore Synth 1 and Lumber Synth 1 unlocked.

Why should i thank you for telling me something that you clearly haven’t even tested yourself and is just plain false. And yes i did test it, doubleclick doesn’t work. This item is not in the game. You can put them on the tp, since there are allot of buy orders for them, even 1 going up to 15 gold for 1, don’t you think if it was as easy as combining 2 slivers by doubleclicking that at least someone would have made allot of money?

For anyone that is a scribe or wants to be one, especially since this is the first really new craft since launch, this is important. We cannot progress…
At least some statement to say if it’s in the game or not, and a possible ETA if it isn’t would be nice. Scribe was promised with Heart of Thorns and it’s not actually in the game, the only thing i can make for my guild atm are world events and banquets…

Nah, blame the historians, they didn’t write it down correctly!

I love the new guild mission system but the trek, now that it gives rewards, needs to be changed so that anyone who accesed 1 of the locations gets rewarded if we complete it.

Right now only the first one there gets a reward, so as a guild of 20 people, you need to run the trek 5 times to get everyone their reward, this is kind of stupid…

As someone who tries to do his fair share of pve events commanding, i don’t mind at all. Now i can work with people who are active and on teamspeak, instead of someone who by pure chance has a commander tag. It’s awesome.

I congratulate every player mad/rich enough to craft/buy this skin. But if you want it to be a legendary, skin it on to a legendary. You made a skin, you have a skin, nothing more. I know it’s expensive that’s why I’m skipping it, it’s a skin.

It’s an ascended shoulder piece, not just a skin, it has ascended stats. As i said it’s not that big of a deal to me it stays that way, just personal preference. The way they described legendary armor would cost about the same as 1 weapon, makes an entire legendary armor cheaper then this skin atm, i just think it would be a nice gesture.

So i went ahead and crafted myself nightfury.
It was very expensive and imo it’s totally worth it, i love the effects. That being said there are some things i would like to give feedback on.

First of all, the effects, while being awesome, are turned off if are in big skill effects areas, i have absolutely no problem with this, when i’m zerging i don’t watch effects anyway. The problem is, when they are turned off, they don’t turn back on when back on your own, and even traveling doesn’t help, the only thing that makes the bats come back is hide and show again, or unequip and equip again. This is obviously a bug that wasn’t intended, and i hope to see it fixed soon.

The second thing, i would like to be able to dye the bats just a bit darker, not that i want pink ones but this being dyeable would be nice. Of course if it’s possible. There is an outfit in the gemstore atm with dyeable fire, so i think bats should be way less of a problem.

Third, and this is a more a personal preference. I would appreciate it if nightfury could be upgraded to legendary. Don’t get me wrong, i want to earn legendary armor like everyone else, and i think this skin is worth it on it’s own, but it would be a nice gesture and perhaps make it worth to get for other people aswell.
I would suggest: nightfury+whatever skill based thing you need to achieve->legendary.
Anyway just a suggestion.

All that being said, i love it and i’ll never regret getting it. (Altough the first thing i hope will be fixed soon)

Story wise i would agree, but then again i like the constant living world updates so you won’t ever get me complaining about that, we got so much free story, and will get free story again after, as you buy HoT you buy the next living world stuff aswell, so i don’t mind at all.

I don’t agree with the maps tough, i think this expansion has added maps that can be played, instead of just maps that you breeze trough and never see again. I like the overall flavor.

Proffesion based i think you are nuts, this is the biggest class overhaul i’ve ever seen an mmo do in just 1 expansion. Elite specs for every class, and a new proffesion, that is insane. The best part about it is that GW2 builds on it’s existing classes instead of revamping whatever is underpowered, like wow does for example.

Guildhalls imo are the best thing about HoT, and i don’t agree they could have been a living story update, this has been worked on so long, and it’s awesome.

Wvw, pvp and fractal updates are just an added bonus, but you don’t even need HoT for em.

I love the new expansion, let’s get that out of the way, i kittening love everything in it.
But…

Disconnects are ruining me and my guild’s experience of this content.
Today i disconnected during the dragon stand meta event while on the end boss, not being able to get back into the map, and i disconnected during my guild’s claiming of the guildhall, also not being able to get back into the same instance for some reason.

Many people have disconnected from the game and lost rewards or the experience to do stuff. It’s actively ruining the fun for us.

This system wasn’t meant to be easy, it was meant to help people get to their precursor in small steps of progression. If you want your precursor in 1 day, buy it of the TP, it saves you allot of time and effort. If you can’t afford this, do the collection, progress a bit every week to eventually get it.

This is supposed to bridge the huge goldgap of a precursor by adding small stepping stones, but in the end, it’s not gonna be easier or cheaper. If you expected that then you were kidding yourself.

not really but people have been grinding these things, most likely would be the mad king, but some people did him 350+ times without any different items.

I see people with decent points at both sides but when i read someone’s comment that they hated the grind for new elite specs, but then said they did edge of the mists to grind them out, i nearly spit my drink on my keyboard. You can’t complain about grind if you are willingly seeking out edge of the mists people.

It’s your error mate, hate to say it, if you let her stack to over 5 she will heal up, she stacks up by absorbing firstborn, so your job is to kill the firstborn asap as they spawn. Save your big aoe’s, they die really fast but you need to focus them with aoe. If she doesn’t stack up to firstborn stacks to high, she won’t heal. Really just any aoe on them and they drop like flies.

I’m very willing to accept that I’m making a mistake, but I’m not sure if this is it. First, when she gets the stacks, they are to a damage bonus. She doesn’t gain any health.

Second, there are so many adds at the end that it is simply not possible to kill them all.

the key is to hold off the waves until she dies the first time, she’ll only heal a little with no damage increase and you’ll be able to burn her before it gets to rediculous. I admit i had a bit of trouble and wiped this fight once. I wiped the final one allot tough, so be prepared :p, if it’s really to hard bringing a friend makes this allot easier.

They actually confirmed there would be 2 not in the raids, the legendary armor won’t be in until raids is my guess.

Back to the topic, I’m currently on act 12. Not sure how far that is in the story but I am having a blast, the story was one of the best I have played in video games.

This might be the silliest response I’ve seen. You’re essentially saying that it’s wrong to expect a story you can’t finish in half a day in an expansion that is COMPLETELY FOCUSED on living story. Hello? Mordemoth hype for months? You further make an absolutely ludicrous claim that other MMOs don’t have a story. I challenge you to find any big title MMO that doesn’t have one. You’d be hard pressed to find it. Even f2p cheap aeria game clones have plenty of story. You then go on to say this was one of the best stories you’ve ever played in a video game. I think there’s a limit to how much of an apologist you can be, and you went way over it. I also find the number of games you’ve actually played to be highly suspect if this is how you feel. But hey, opinions.

Lastly, the size of the story was secondary to me. Had you been less reactive, and actually read what I said and not what you wanted to hear, you’d have realized that I wasn’t as concerned about how short it appeared to be, and was simply more interested in that it was as impactful as the OP said.

Mate people finish story driven games like the new tomb raider and fallout and stuff like that in one playsession, if he had a full 2 days of free time to play it that’s not even weird, that’s normal for any game, not even speaking mmo’s.

9/10 I love everything about this expansion, the only reason it’s not a 10 is because crashes reset your meta event reward lvl

Most of the complaints are justified, and you’re not really seeing the big problem with this failure of an expansion, which is the eternal grinding that’s required in order to make progress, not to talk about the astronomical amounts of hero points you need to unlock the features that everyone has been looking forward to trying.

I was wondering 2 things about the GW2:HoT launch, first, i know the launch time itself but when does the actual stream going up to launch start, and is this stream entirely A-net itself or a bunch of hosts of gw2 channels aswell? (i’m getting up early if it’s A-net, not for hours of hosted channels tough)

2nd thing: I am the one activating all our guild’s boosters before the expansion launches, and i’m wondering if i can activate the boosters like 15 minutes before launch, or if the servers will actually have downtime (not that i care to much, but i would like to know.)

By creating another set, legendary armor will cost around the same as 1 legendary weapon (confirmed by the devs), and technicly that would make the legendary armor cost about 4-5 times what a current ascended set costs. In fact 2 ascended sets is way more handy then legendary armor atm, since you can’t runeswap in legendary gear without loosing the runes each time anyway… (at least as far as we know, going of the weapons that can’t sigilswap)

Instanced stories in gw2 about the past would be interesting however there isn’t any reason for ANet to stop the momentum of a storyline about killing dragons to revisit past events. Not unless they tie directly into the current story line. Even then, books or an NPC telling you the story would be immensely cheaper.

Yet they already used it in season 2, with the caithe storyline.
I’d love something like that for background lore, you know not needed but optional extra lore packs, i don’t think it’s that hard to develop when the HoT-pressure dies down. I’d pay about 500-1000 gems for a background story that was about 2-3 times the lenght of caithe’s story in season 2 living world, as long as it covers a major historic event. Don’t have to balance it around every class either, since you aren’t playing as you.

Just something i would like, not that we need it, but it would be nice.
