Scourge: 10/10. As a necro main i tested scourge both in damage and support roles in both stress tests in pve, and on the golem.
-Damage is decent and the mechanics are actually interesting, rotation will be interesting trying to weave utilities for constant burning.
-Support scourge is the first support spec i really really like. The barrier filling the squadui is super satisfying and unlike other support specs a real visual clue to how much you are putting out.

Weaver: 9/10. Very fun, cool spec. Will be a challenge to learn though. The one thing i dislike about it is it will be really punishing if you mess up a buttonpress and go into water instead of air for example, because that will be on your bar for the next swap aswell. Rotation will be key, and if you mess up, recovering will be hard.

Holosmith: 8/10 fun spec, not higher because it doesn’t mix with kits to well, wich is engi core.

Firebrand: 7/10 Some cool stuff here, but overall not really my favourite, i do prefer it over dragonhunter though.

Spellbreaker: 7/10, 10 for pvp, sadly that’s all it has to offer imo. It feels like the devs developped this very fun pvp spec and said, well they have berserker for pve, wich isn’t really ok imo. I feel with just a few changes there could be a great pve variant.

Renegade: 8/10 Fun to play and great visuals, needs a bit of tweaking in energy costs. I know the lore is charr based, but i feel it should have an option to change the spirits to race or smth. Not overly excited to summon charr on a non-charr character.

Soulbeast: 7/10 Very fun, lacking in visuals, would be more excited for this if it was more visually appealing.

Mirage: 6/10 I overall don’t like mesmers and that doesn’t change with mirage, looks cool though.

Deadeye: 8/10 Fun to play, very different from the daredevil, pretty situational though, i wonder if it will be used over daredevil.

It’s a pve raid trait imo, most skills will only affect your own subgroup in raids, with having shade skills affect 10 people, it effects the entire raid, making necro a super viable raid barrier support. Since whatever subgroup he is in he can barrier 10 people. With the shade skill and condi remove 10 people and heal 10 people with the blood sinergy.

total effected people is the same 5 for each regular shade plus 5 for you is 20 or 10 for mega shade 10 for you is 20 either way you can effect 20 players

You don’t understand how raid subgroups work. A skill affecting 5 people prioritizes the 5 people in your subgroup, it doesn’t matter if you have 2 shades out and are next to them yourself, if your subgroups are sorted so there are 5 people in your subgroup, wich is mostly the case in raids, the skills will not affect the other subgroup unless you target 10 players.

Number 1: Since this is the first time mounts have been introduced, there is no “core feature” yet. If there is going to be a change, then now is the time to do it, not after (for example) 5 mounts have this “feature” and then the next 5 don’t.

Number 2: Considering making adjustments to mounts in the way they are being suggested would bring them in closer to the way mounts work in other games (which I haven’t seen in any of the games I play a thread about mount induced VRMS) it wouldn’t be game breaking and if (for example) (the collective) “you” hadn’t seen the animations in the demo and they changed it in the design/QoL stage before “you” experienced it, “you” wouldn’t know the difference.

Additionally, I don’t feel that the person you were responding to was being aggressive, but rather defensive. There have been more than a few comments on here telling people who are experiencing this problem to “get used to it” or saying to ANet that they don’t have the problem so don’t change anything. Statements such as “others can also voice their concerns about how possible solutions would affect them” while valid in sentiment doesn’t truly follow because the only way it would “affect” them is if mounts were removed or the expansion was canned (maybe because not enough people bought it because it made them ill). Those animations do not make the game playable for you. However, they do potentially make it unplayable for others and that is a dangerous precedence to begin setting. If a whole group (which is surprisingly quite large and potentially even larger because people may be deciding just not to buy the expansion because it makes them ill – such as I decide not to buy FPS games because they make me ill) is negated then ANet has just dwindled down a shrinking player base (they are losing profit gains according to the NCSoft quarterly reports) even further, and as that slippery slope continues eventually the whole game will die and then you really will be affected by the animations (and other causes in the future) affecting your game play (though less noticeable on your part).

Also, I would like to point out to those people shouting for “no changes” or that we should get used to it, etc – if you reduce your player base further and further, how do you expect to do meta events etc? Already in HoT there are not enough people to complete the Auric Basin meta event and others and that’s the current newest maps where you would expect the player base to be. My husband and I started on the EU servers and played across a wide range of hours (both in and outside of peak times) and have since transferred to NA servers, and both are suffering from the same ailment. If you negate even more players further, you are dwindling your player base and potentially making it harder for your enjoyment of the game and completion. Just a thought that maybe you need to consider the big picture, not just whether a mount turns with strafing (which is highly possible and happens – check out dressage for example) or whether the mount bobs about, etc.

Hopefully, they will be able to give me the options to fix it for me unique to my situation, and not affect anyone else, but if they can’t due to engine limitations for example – how is making the game playable for a larger group of people really a bad thing for anyone here? ANet and NCSoft make more money, you have a wider base to play with, and we get to enjoy all the parts of the game we want to play. Seems a Win-Win-Win in my opinion.

I’m sorry but if you really don’t understand that mount animations, one of the most celebrated features of the upcoming expansion, one that has one of the most highly upvoted reddit threads on the gw2 reddit that everyone is excited about, is important now that they have showed it off and people have experienced it and it’s been reported on, i’m not sure how you can even have a discussion. Phasing mounts back to something like other mmo’s when the devs have been praised for mounts being “not like other mmo’s” is asking them to shoot themselves in the foot. I get that people want options, and i hope you get them, but not at the cost of the actual game. You speak about having people to do meta-events but then you ask a game to suicide itself trough the destruction of the appeal of a highly praised upcoming feature.

It is very unnatural and it takes years of focussed training to learn how to do this, and even then it’s a forward strafe not a pure sideways one.

I totally get that some people may have a problem and i do hope they add something for it, as long as the base mount animations aren’t changed for the majority.

As for strafing, that’s just not natural on a riding animal.

For all those who say “not a problem for me” that is fantastic for you and I hope you appreciate that lack of problem, but those kinds of responses are unproductive and unhelpful here. Just because you do not experience problems does not logically mean that therefore others do not/should not.

I get that you have a problem, but also do get that changing the mounts may affect gameplay and gameplay is important to everyone overall. OP, the answer is no, this will never happen, they have said it will never happen. You draw your conclusion about that if you want to play this game. But this will guaranteed never happen. Wich is a good thing to me.

I took about 30 minutes to carefully write a post about the update in the topic A-net opened for it, trying to provide real feedback about what i liked, what i didn’t, only to have the topic shut down without warning and me loosing everything i wrote… 1 minute before i tried to post. A warning or a timing on how long the topic will be open in the first place would be nice.

I loved the episode but i have 1 major point of feedback:
-Knockbacks =/= challenging.
Troughout this episode there is an big use of knockbacks, from the centaur leather farm to the fight with caudecus, to just in general with this entire episode in both living world and story.
I play as a valk shroud build for open world on my necro, and i hardly ever die from these mechanics, but they are really irritating. Don’t get me wrong, a good knockback can give challenge, look at the new raidwing that just came out, there the knockbacks are totally in place and bound to clear tells. But in the head of the snake episode, they were overused. Especially in the caudecus fight. The tells weren’t clear, as they were in the raid, the knockbacks were all over the place, often just bouncing you from 1 into the next into the next. Open world with the centaur camp it has it’s place, but the knockback doesn’t fit the centaur group completely, wich means a centaur can run past you, by quite a bit, and you still get knocked back. Overall, being bounced around all the time just isn’t fun, and it’s not challenging either, it feels like an attempt to build in challenge where there’s none, knockbacks are more irritating then any other thing because you loose controll of your character, i’d love there to be more creative ways to have challenge, like for example confusion, high condi stacks that require a condi clear, breakbars before a knockback… Also what i would say is, it’s not because things hurt less then in raids that it’s ok to clutter up the screen more in a living world episode then inside a raid. I honestly think the living world team could use some input from the raid team on how to create visualy clear yet decently challenging instances.

4 tips before starting hot maps:
-Make sure you gear yourself in lvl 80 exotic at least (metabattle or other build sites will often promote berserker gear, however if you are having problems, looking into more tanky statsets wouldn’t hurt. To the build guys best dps is always the most viable, it may not be to you)
-Have at least 1 ranged weapon.
-Do Silverwastes/dungeons a few times before going into the new zones and practice.
-Do not start HoT until you give yourself at least 1 week doing the pre-hot endgame.

HoT is more challenging then base game, but the fact you are dieing so much in personal story instances means you are doing something very wrong, they are fairly easy if you are decently geared.

What you are doing is basicly get to the story end, do none of the actual base game endgame stuff(dungeons/fractals/orr map farming: these all give exotic gear or higher), do non of the endgame stuff leading up to HoT (silverwastes/drytop: gives you money to get exotic or higher), jump into hot and expect to faceroll as before. it simply does not work that way.

I’m Fox, 29 y/o, looking for a static raid group in GW2 on NA servers. Have kill experience on everything except Xera(got xera to 10%). I’d love to find a group with wich i can do weekly clears of at least the first 2 wings, and who are also progressing on/doing clears of wing 3 . My class lineup:
-full ascended: Viper necro(main), Power Tempest(2nd prefered), DD, DH, PS, Herald
-Ascended weapons and trinkets: Heal Druid (wich will probably be my 3rd prefered once she’s geared completely)

My shedule is pretty open, so i can make most raid times, if it’s not like super late starting. I’m looking for a group with wich i can progress when new wings come out (i’m prepared to raid allot when they do, to make progress), and for the rest farm stuff and have some fun. Let me sketch our situation, we, Lovers of Whisky and Women, a dutch guild, have been trying to get raid party’s going for a while, since it came out. We have had a few good raids and downed vale guardian, but our main problem has been to consistently get a full team of people. We’ve decided to detach the team from that guild and go international, to solve our problem and attract a few more core members.

We raid on fridays and sundays starting 21:00 GMT+1.

What you have to understand about our team is we are mostly friends trying to do this content together. We are looking for friendly people who want to have a good time and kill some bosses 2 nights a week. Our requirements for now are at least ascended trinkets, and preferably an ascended weapons.

I know Stacy, i’ve played with her and helped with some of their videos. Only met her brother at the actual videos. From what i’m getting he did something stupid and she’s being punished for it.

She is one of the most friendly and warm people i know in GW2. Go hate me all you want but i think botters deserve to be banned, and Zack clearly realised he kittened up now. His sister however is guilty by association? I don’t agree with that.

There’s nothing that says friendly, warm people can’t download and use a hack. Someone I know, who is a nice person, knowingly took advantage of an exploit in another game and was banned. People tend to think of cheating in a video game as not real cheating since it’s a game inside a computer and cheating/hacking doesn’t actually hurt anyone else.

She might be innocent or she might not. However Gaile came right out and said that account had done something only possible through a hack, and in a case like this I’m going to believe someone with access to what really happened, and who doesn’t need to save face.

That was about her brother’s account, there are 2 people 2 accounts, both got banned because 1 of them kittened up, i do not agree with this.

Content creators aren’t immune to the rules everyone else has to follow by. Just double-checked, this will stand.

This was posted after the video came out and is about that video. Both were on the video saying they were unfairly banned. Now, you can believe that Shazbawt only bothered to double check one account but not the other but when he says, in reference to that video, that he double checked and this will stand, I think it’s reasonable to think he checked both people’s accounts.

I have no idea why she would do that, so in posting only the info about 1 account, i’m assuming she just checked that account. I want to know why the other was banned.

They have openly commented because the 2 of them were directly and publicly accusing ANet of falsely suspending them, and ANet rebutted the accusation. At this point it is between her and support. If she is truly innocent she needs to make a ticket and work with ANet about it and make her argument and I doubt ANet will make any more public announcements concerning this.

All i want to know, is if they checked both accounts. And if they did, why they went public with only 1. You cannot react like this with only half a statement. Either they both are guilty, or only one of them is, it’s that simple. As of that point, no one in the thread had even mentioned her brother at all. So the probability that the post linked is about anyone other than Suck at Love is slim.

Suck at love is them both. He is called Zack, she is called Stacy. Her account name or name is NOT suck at love. Suck at Love is the name of their content that they make together.

ok let me be perfectly clear, Arenanet reacted to this topic, it is specificly because they reacted, and their reaction implies Suck at Love not only are cheats but also liars, that this needs to be adressed. If both accounts cheated, then they both deserved to be banned. If one account cheated then 1 deserves to be banned, and since Arenanet implies in this topic specificly that the bans are justified, even tough only stating why one of the accounts was banned, but by reacting to this, kind of giving the idea both people involved here are cheats and liars, that person also deserves to be cleared of the stamp of liar and cheat.

If they had not reacted to this topic, then there would be no issue, but since they did they may have done harm to an innocent content creator’s reputation. Wich is then guilty by association. I just want a clear answer, did they both cheat, or not.

You know, she could be innocent of actually doing anything and her account still be guilty. Her brother admitted to as little as he could get away with but its not impossible to think he did use the hack in both accounts and got mastery points/hero points on both accounts. Of course this means she knew of it afterwards at the very least, but it still would show up as her account hacking even if she wasn’t the actual hacker.

That’s different, then she let someone else have acces to her account and is responsible for what he did with it.

She might be innocent or she might not. However Gaile came right out and said that account had done something only possible through a hack, and in a case like this I’m going to believe someone with access to what really happened, and who doesn’t need to save face.

That was about her brother’s account, there are 2 people 2 accounts, both got banned because 1 of them kittened up, i do not agree with this.

They may not answer you as you don’t have the right to know. ANet normally doesn’t discuss this sort of thing with people who aren’t directly involved. They have openly commented because the 2 of them were directly and publicly accusing ANet of falsely suspending them, and ANet rebutted the accusation. However this doesn’t mean that they will answer some random forum person who wants to know more.

At this point it is between her and support. If she is truly innocent she needs to make a ticket and work with ANet about it and make her argument and I doubt ANet will make any more public announcements concerning this.

All i want to know, is if they checked both accounts. And if they did, why they went public with only 1. You cannot react like this with only half a statement. Either they both are guilty, or only one of them is, it’s that simple. Zack destroyed his own reputation and he will pay for it, however his sister is still, until proven guilty, someone who has nothing to do with this. But her reputation is destroyed aswell. These are public figures in your community, and i’m all for banning people that actually cheat. But since Stacy is still a fairly well known content creator, if she didn’t do anything, she is being unfairly treated.

There’s nothing that says friendly, warm people can’t download and use a hack. Someone I know, who is a nice person, knowingly took advantage of an exploit in another game and was banned. Anet mentioned one violation that doesn’t mean they don’t have more ammo. She swears she did nothing wrong, so did he though, until evidence was shown.

They have made mistakes before but given those two are somewhat known I believe they made sure first then banned.

Then lay down the evidence, be open about it. There was 1 account caught on teleporting around the map, yet there were 2 accounts banned. I know this person and until you prove to me that there was something wrong with her account specificly, i will not believe it. Living in the same house as someone who cheated is not a crime.

I’m sorry but i stopped reading when you said Silverwastes was more “fun” then the new maps. To me, and to most of the people i know, Silverwastes is the only stain on an otherwise great game. If you are suggesting that maps with far more content in them are somehow worse then the grindfest silverwastes is, then you’ve lost me completely. As far as the timers go, i don’t know how you live your life but if you are busy and don’t have much time, these things are actually a blessing, because you can plan to do one of the new map’s metas up front, for those of us that actually have a busy shedule, knowing exactly when to show up, and not waste time due to that, is actually really important.

And that’s the reality of people who don’t have that much time, they plan stuff. Stop pretending you are fighting for anything but your own selfish needs.

Oh and HoT did not fail by any stretch of the imagination, really…

simple fact is, if you enjoyed the game till levelcap, the expansion should be a no brainer, if it’s not, stop playing.

You basicly look for reasons not to have fun with something. It’s obvious you need a break from the game, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t enjoying every single thing you think isn’t fun.

Open world is a very valid option for things to do, especially in the expansion maps, fractals are what they are, and if you wanna do swamp and molten allot because you care about doing everything super efficient, but then get bored, that’s also your choice.

Not doing raids is also your choice. Rewards are decent enough, the skins rewarded in the raid are actually cool, and legendary armor, while not having appeal to you, is something people will want to go for. But most of all raids are fun for the challenge…

You say, i don’t wanna do anything in this game, and then claim you don’t have anything to do. Reading your post i’d advise you to take a break since you don’t see the fun things right under your nose. (i took a break from gw2 when i stopped enjoying it for a while, came back with a refreshed appreciation)

The only thing wrong with tangled depths is the reward structure, you get way to few ley line crystals for whatever you do in the map, and the chests are a pain to farm.

Also ley line spark droprate is beyond rediculous compared to the other ascended mats from the expansion.

Let’s hope someone is listening then ^^, but i’m confident this will be changed tough, since HoT there has been a constant improvement based on feedback, i can’t imagine this staying in.

I just finished getting my 250 ore. It wasn’t nearly as bad as people are saying. I did do the story twice. Look online for pod routes. You should be able to get almost 30 pods open with an average of 11-15 ore per run.

You guys wanted long term content that couldn’t be bought off the TP. That’s exactly what we got.

That’s not even remotely realistic. Replayable content is the hallmark of MMO’s.

DS is going to be THE open world endgame content for probably the next 6-9 months.

While that may be true, and i have no problem with it, getting these pods shouldn’t be this challenging after you completed the event. The event itself is the content, not the chestrun after. It’s either time based like Auric basin, or spread around the world in mobs like silverwastes, verdant brink or tangled depths, having it be both time based and covered in veterans and elites, is bad design imo. If you are doing a chest run and someone goes down near you in silverwastes for example, people come to rez. Right now dragon stand doesn’t encourage people to rez others, since it’s dangerous and if you get behind or die, you are basicly kittened. Add to that the fact that these pods despawn fast, and you basicly need to rush, and you got the clusterkitten that is dragon stand today. So either no mobs and something like auric basin, or open world like verdant brink would be fine.

How it is now is frustrating and stupid. And this has nothing to do with the actual event. I don’t care if i have to do dragon stand 25 or even 50 times, i just don’t want that progress to be affected by random mobs charging around knocking people down, by frustration on teamspeak and by just an overall irritated atmosphere when the event is over. After you beat a worldboss should NEVER be a moment of frustration. That is extremely bad game design imo.

Best solution would be to just limit the machete’s you get until the bossfight, and to have pods just be in the open world. Another would be to have all the pods just inside that tree, or inside the areas they are now, but to have no mobs there.

Completing the meta event and then being hit at random by a charging dinosaur while trying to open chests, go down and basicly be screwed reward wise, is something that should not happen and should be changed.

As to the op of this topic: ore drop rates should not be changed, the ammount of pods should not be changed, the veteran dinosaurs rampaging trough your chest run zerg after the event is over, should be changed.

Like it or not, it’s smart business and it works. You all should know as well as I do that some people will get what they can for free for as long as they can. It’s the companies job to keep dollars rolling in. Not to give away everything for free. I don’t think that’s reasonable.

If Anet didn’t do this and did push people to buy the game, a lot of people wouldn’t buy it. But there are things in the game to “encourage” the purchase of the expansion.

yeah it will be, dragon stand is something you can run whenever, raids need to be organised. Not everyone will raid every single day, and when you aren’t raiding the meta’s are the most rewarding thing.

We downed it on Eu today and the trick is not to break the breakbars and just dodge the AoE, you can dps way way more like that. Also nuhoch needs people that know what to do, in the other lanes if only commanders know what to do you’ll be fine. So if you try to organise this send everyone with knowledge, up to 23-25 people, to nuhoch.

no you can’t, appearantly you can make them at 150, confirmed on the charity stream, altough they are a lvl 75 material, and it’s nearly impossible to reach 150 without them…

The reason why you dont get a response is because you are posting a bug in the wrong forum.

Every time you see the forum overview, there is an announcement on the right side, telling you about the specific thread in the bug forums where you should post bugs and issues related to hot.

I posted this in the bug forums the moment i found it, it’s still not solved, this was one of the features anounced with this expansion, i’m just trying to find out what is going on.
