I would like simple card games like poker in taverns and at tables in some places. With different races and places there could be different collectable decks and rules, for example Lion’s Arch has genuine gold-leaf cards with ornate numbering and illustrations, while Black Citadel might have more authoritarian, simple cards. Collecting an entire deck of any gives you a unique title. Collecting all of them gives you a title and a set of townclothes that cannot be otherwise acquired. You can dye your cards for a bit of individuality. You use chips as a currency in these games, and each different city has a different kind of Chip, which you can also collect.
I only say I want poker because I am terrible at other card games xD I’d actually be fine with other forms and rules, poker would be simpler to make and better-known, though.
Shortbow is one of the best ranged weapons in the game when used correctly, hands-down. Dual pistols and pistol/dagger(or the other way around) are extremely useful combinations that can destroy people in 1v1. I don’t think you need a new toy just yet.
A fine idea, OP. It could be kind of like your progression as a budding engineer genius. +1.
Thief is good as it is. Ranger needs rifle(or staff) more than thief does. What kind of dark-alley bruiser carries a full-length semi-automatic rifle? There’s no subtlety in that, it makes no sense.
I got it on my norn alt.
In true norn fashion, I ate it, somehow giving me karma. I’m sure the child would be happy to know what I did with her beautiful crayon masterpiece.
Skritt are stupid without groups. Unless the player is twenty separate skritt models with animations working together, haha no.
The Asura are experimenting on their intelligence, yes, but they would never make all the Skritt smart. That would be idiotic. They’re less of a threat when kept nice, stupid and predictable. Every player can’t be a test subject, too, I’m afraid that the one lab doing the testing hasn’t the space to produce 139,493 player-character skritt test subjects.
I’d much prefer model-improved Dwarves, since Ogden states that they’re alive and down there somewhere. There’s a lot of potential for an interesting race there, especially if they’re still stone.
Tengu also make for an interesting race, but their models need updating. The whole ‘beak moves a tiny bit when talking’ thing wouldn’t do for a tengu’s personal story.
What dimension are you two going to settle in?
I was just showing my friends that these forums are far more civil than the average forum and OH GOD WHAT.
I just go with reporting all the dead people in Orr for botting if they don’t respond to a whisper.
I think they need a cover for GW2 that says in bold: "Players banned for buying gold this month: (Insert number here). Players banned for botting: (Insert number here). Players banned for hacking: (Insert number here). This can be dismissable with an option to never see it again, but it needs to be hammered into the heads of the idiots buying gold that it isn’t good and it WILL get you banned.
My tired mind would like to give it’s two cents based upon my experiences as a longbow/sword+horn ranger that tries to use whatever pets fits it’s liking rather than class demands.
Ranger melee- Weak, needs improvement. I feel like more streamlining could be done with sword, but besides that it’s just a cowbell thing for me.
Ranger axe- Underachieving warrior. Needs improvement.
Ranger longbow- Too slow, too inefficient, still seeing ‘OBSTRUCTED’ every few shots, needs the stupid range mechanic for ‘1’ removed entirely.
Ranger shortbow- The best thing about ranger, doing an acceptable amount of damage when you want it to.
Ranger pets- Stupid, clunky, slow, weak and fragile. They aren’t even strong enough to cope with their stupidity most of the time if not all of the time. I’ve used every member of the porcine family, pigs, bears, dogs, wolves, cats, birds… It’s all the same. I’ve yet to see a single issue on pets adequately addressed and fixed since day one. Since there is no way to get rid of them and apply their half of the damage to the ranger they are trying(and failing miserably) to support, we’re stuck doing half of the damage with no alternative.
In short…
Anything we can do, someone else can and will do better. We were promised a profession that could take care of itself and compete with other professions in every field, trying to call Ranger a jack of all trades is just excusing the butchery of Ranger’s potential(imho). We were deceived.
But if they improve the precursor(persecutor is a good name for them), people will have one less reason to buy gems! Think about all the profits Anet will lose per overpriced item, guys!
There are gay(I refer to male) couples in this game. Just look at all that sexual tension between Rytlock and Logan. I wouldn’t be surprised if in their next dragon-slaying they paused mid-fight to profess their love for one another, dazing the current dragon they are fighting and applying ten stacks of confusion.
I actually far prefer banning people to just in-game suspending them. While this would be hilarious to watch, it’d be salt in a wound. If you intend to ban someone for X amount of days, don’t make them suffer for it in front of everyone else.

Another Orr-esque farmzone. Fantastic.
OP, Play the mass effect series incorrectly and you’ll look at this game’s death magnitude quite differently.
Use Gold Buyers to catch more Gold Sellers

All I needed to do was look at the title to form a response.
By buying gold, you’re willingly supporting gold-sellers, hackers, bots and annoying gold-spamming bots, all of the crimes of which are bannable and should be bannable.
Why should gold buyers be spared the rod if those they indirectly help aren’t? By buying gold you make the business of selling gold and hacking accounts profitable.
my character is level 32 (and ive already put a decent amount of time to get where i am) and was traveling through a new area trying to find new quest, points of interests ect. and ended up in an area that scaled me down to level 22 i ended up fighting several mobs around level 25. isnt the point of any rpg to play to become stronger then ur enemys then pwn? i feel like every aspect and mechanic of this game is broken, i can play for the next year every day reach level 80 and besides skills, and gear be exactly the same as someone who just started. i see how raising to 80 for wvw and pvp makes sense but where does my hard work and level grinding start to show purpose if in pve my lvl is dropped and enemys are going to be higher lvl then me because im weaker 10 ft. over here then i am over there? this is a good idea with a really dumb resault pls take level scaling off for pve id feel like my hours in front of the keyboard had purpose.
Sounds like somebody wants to run their level 80 through areas oneshotting everything, farming up the drops from the oneshotted enemies and selling them for ridiculous prices.
Anet won’t. They like the market as it is, it encourages gem buying(Just 1k 800 gem buys and you can get a welfare legendary!)
Dwarves please!!!!!!
Almost every other fantasy mmo has them playable…. I want it here too!
That’s a horrible reason for wanting a race to appear.
I want them because they represent a huge and epic portion of the lore that could take a huge part in defeating Primordus, and because they aren’t dead according to Ogden and could possibly one day through some lore loophole find a way to become flesh and blood again.
And if not, a stone race would just be fantastic if done right.
Why not use the "Diablo 3" Magic Find System?

though it might fix your issue with this game, have you not thought about blizzard owning the coding for it. Meaning its probably copyrighted or patent on it.
Knowing Actiblizzard, they’d probably sue for money, since money is all that matters to them at this point.
Order of Whispers. Only the cool illuminati kids are allowed in the conspiracy cave.
I think all the orders are charming in some way, but Trahearne denied them the right to shine like they should.
Sooo basically anyone who isn’t an achievement hunter can’t live in a huge fancy mansion, raw material costs will skyrocket and…
Yeah…
I know it would be impossible but I wish there was a way to side with your alternate self.
It would give me an excuse to have my character clad in all black and talk like “INSEID OF ZE FORTRESH, IS ZE DARK SEIDD”.
Yeah, my expectations are low to avoid the agony of having the devs tell me nothing is wrong and everything is peachy keen, then handing me a snorkel and telling me to go swimming with my slightly altered toys.
I wish they would put the Guild Wars 1 dances in the gem store. My necro needs to be able to do the Thriller dance. That dance fits that profession so well.
Thriller Necromancers… One for you, and one for me… Nice…
Gangnam style sounds nice but it can’t be the only add-on dance. We need classics like Thriller to balance things out.
Oh, and I know you want to get a line of Necros and line sync dance in Divinity’s Reach being lead by Mikhail Jeckson.
Thank you for showing me this, Buddha. It is now favorited.
Maybe I’m mistaken, but doesn’t the WvWvW medium look a bit like that? I agree, that looks much better, but you can use the honor-badge armor in combat.
Edit: DERRRP, eles can’t wear medium. My bad x_x

Last night I was trying to do a little dynamic event in the Straits of Devastation. Every five seconds or so I would be forced to fight solo a group of 5-6 undead due to the ridiculous respawn time. Enemies would poof into existence in front of me and immediately attack me.
Fighting him sounds incredibly painful x_x so many thorns.
Mountainous, soaring peaks with a lot of possibilities for environmental kills and sneaky behavior, lots of caverns honeycombing them to add to strategy.
1. Kodan. Enjoy Koda-Cola, the only truly balanced beverage on the market.
2. Tengu
3. Dwarves. Somehow, some way, dwarves.
A Ranger Skill for viewing through Stealth

Posted by: Frosty and Frosty Law Firm.4981
I’d just like pets to see through stealth with 20 BM traits spent.
I’m sure that most will, once the dragons are dead and buried.
And for those saying the ‘We won’t move another inch’ quote has anything to do with it, I believe it was referring to an unwillingness to retreat when confronted with a superior Dragon force as they did before.
I’m a bit surprised that the Dredge aren’t having the same problems given how deep they dig.
Any chance of Karka as a future playable race?
Karka Mesmer:
Karka Mesmer performs mind-shattering barrel roll!
Blackgate Invader pressed Z or R Twice!
I like the idea but I don’t expect Anet to do anything with it immediately if at all. If it did happen, I’d assume it would come right before player housing(which may never come).
I’d like to have point blank shot apply five stacks of bleed as well that cannot be resisted(if the move hits at all).
I’d also like longbow skills to recharge faster and cast faster. I know that we’re not raw damage snipers like warriors but we should at least be thrice as efficient so that we actually have a chance at killing them. Or anyone, for that matter.
Unbreakable Choir Bell - A plea to ArenaNet

Unbreakable Choir Bells are lovely right up until you’re having a sync dance party and your D.J Bell-Ringer has a hilarious idea: RING THE HIGHEST NOTE IN QUICK SUCCESSION FOR FIFTEEN MINUTES.
My character snapped and lept off of Ministers Waypoint, cackling maniacally. He was mentally unstable and uninterrupted dance was the only thing holding him together, you see. It’s quite tragic.
But in a way it’s also hilarious. In all seriousness I agree with the OP, musical items are a delight and we could use more of them. Imagine player bands with bells, flutes, drums or bongos, accordions, saxophones(assuming they could produce these at the time)
But I’m getting ahead of myself.
This is Guild Wars not Sims . Besides it would be kinda hard to do with Sylvari since its not really Underwear but grown leaves from their body
You’re right. Let’s do away with all unique character customization entirely. This is an MMO, we don’t need individuality to play. And it’d be far too hard to find clothes for those dirty plant people.
I think Anet just kicked down the better drops across the board to increase gem sales. UnIDed dyes went from 5 silver to 12 silver due to their sudden, suspicious rarity.
I’m pretty sure they promised the ability to sit on bar stools and use ale mug items with abilities pre-launch. Not seeing that. +1, OP.
At least these mods don’t outright insult you like on Blizzard’s forums. I’m pretty grateful for what we have now, even if these mods can be overzealous.
Player mods sounds like a good-ish idea, but I fear that by mistake Anet would hire the occasional idiot that doesn’t understand free speech and/or the power to disagree with a statement or action.
I made a thread a while ago suggesting a Dwarven fractal. I think that this idea is great and should be seriously considered by Anet.
Perhaps it already has been considered and we’re just late to the party.
Yeah, great idea OP! We can ride Dolyaks(The only ridable mount in Tyria besides golems that makes any sense at all. Wow, that’s a silly sentence.) at a blazing speed of seven miles per hour, and for a training fee(NOTHING like WoW) we can even ride at ten miles per hour, about the speed at which the player character runs!
Either you’re leaving things out, your info is horribly flawed or he was cheating. Because Rangers are incredibly weak and impotent. Play one yourself and you’ll understand why.
Here’s to another year of being forgotten, swept under the rug, walked over by every other class and nerfed if we find a way to defend ourselves! Huzzah! Sips cranberry punch
Unparalleled archer my foot. Everything a Ranger can do, another profession can and will do better. Anet has failed to fix this problem and in many cases denies the problem exists, E.X sword/longbow.
I’m ashamed to admit that I had faith in and defended them on the threads of negativity some time earlier, before the ‘high risk’ aqua-man patch.
Drunken golem. Now that’s an image.
Know what else is an image? The Black Citadel being overrun with princess dolls. THAT I want to see, humble those arrogant moose-cats that refuse to lie down and accept their place as future slaves to the Asura.
Mmh, maybe. But Kralkatorrik is a mountain. In one fly-by he made the brand. Jormag is a mountain, Bubbles is probably a mountain…
Unless you want half the zone crushed irreparably beneath a dragon for eternity because of one event, I would suggest re-thinking.
Good idea, though. The LT Dragons bore me, too predictable and weak.
I wish that people like the OP wouldn’t make threads. My empathic side gives out far too much pity to upset children at my job as it is.
