Kittens don’t deserve to be dirtied by cowards, and even then there are people who would lag out and be bunnified undeservingly.

No need to dishonor them. The game Dishonored shows what happens when you throw that around, and as illustrated it creates a very dark situation.

Anyhow, mentlegen, I suppose that when you D/C your character remains in-game for roughly 15 seconds before disappearing, allowing others to kill you and negating the effect of logging. This covers for people who actually lag out as well as people who are cowardly. Other MMOs do this too.

Once at Jormag I stood around AFK and ignored all the first events, and only on the last one where he is standing where the chest spawns I grabbed a bazooka and fired at him the whole time. This time I got no chest. Maybe you could going in and and attack the dragon instead of use the siege weapons on adds.

I always make a point to do that. The support on the adds is auxillary, I only do that shortly after I’ve done around 30k to him with my longbow.

The issue you describe is identical to mine. It didn’t happen to me for the first few months of playing, hence why I am talking about it now and didn’t mention it earlier.

This is a bad idea. You might as well give thieves staves, because neither of the weapons makes any sense in their hands. What kind of dark-alley cutthroat carries a full-length semi-automatic rifle in his jacket? None.

They have to wait to get back into the game and you can laugh, knowing you’ve won and that they’re too cowardly to face a quick death and respawn. You’ll earn more silver fighting and winning than they will save in repairs by quicklogging.

The Charr fractal clearly took us back to the Fall of Ascalon City, if a bit watered down. After all, each of us was probably worth 250+ of those maggot soldiers that died as soon as they hit the arrow cart killing field.

Buuut, I digress…

I was thinking, maybe we could get a fractal sooner or later that took us to the Dwarves in their war against the Dragons. Maybe defending a Dwarven fortress from invaders or quelling a Dredge Rebellion, something along those lines.

I don’t know a lot about their lore. So I probably shouldn’t be posting.

But… Worth a try? The Fractals also represent alternate realities and timelines, which leaves a lot of open space…

As it is, only the obscenely rich can acquire legendaries.

About one in three times when I kill a dragon no chest will spawn.

Let me explain how it goes.

I check my dragon timer and teleport to a zone for 4-5 silver, possibly grabbing repairs for 10-12 silver. I run up and wait for the dragon.

About 45 minutes to 50 minutes later it appears. We kill it. I generally experience severe rendering problems. I don’t lose sight of the dragon, but my fellow players have the ‘invisible zerg’ effect. Every step I take causes more of them to vanish and more new ones to appear. Nonetheless, I damage the dragon. If not, I get on a siege weapon(Like turrets in shatterer) and fire at the dragon’s adds.

Okay, so we kill it. I run through the invis-visible-teleporting crowd to the chest.

Well, where the chest should be. I see six people link their sexy drops and I figure, “Oh. It must be taking a second to load.”

So I wait two minutes. And another two minutes. The chest never appears. Ever.

I go completely unrewarded from this dragon-slaying event while someone else walks away with a precursor.

I know this happens to other people. I had a Claw of Jormag on sunday that had roughly six others miss the chest and a Shatterer just yesterday where no chest spawned for three of us. On those Dragon-slaying runs I am rewarded for, I rarely get more than a pile of worthless blues.

Does this happen to you? If so, how often?

I refer to them as cat-mooses. It makes them sound more a bit more delectable when they’re burnt to a crisp and lying across your banquet table.

Asura, in my experience, get kind of high. Deep, philosophical stuff that is not easily comprehended by the bookah human mind.

I can’t help but feel they kinda ran into a deadline when doing the small details of the game. That’s not a bad thing, but it should be done sooner or later.

I just want a singular house with an Asura theme that I can customize that isn’t as open, static and unchanging as the Asura home instance.

Endgame Ranger isn’t so bad.

Sure, EVERYTHING ELSE is better, but it as a jack-of-all-trades can be useful.

I go from glass cannon(The only way I can damage at all) to medic instantly as I pop quickening zephyr to revive a downed ally in fractions of seconds. I throw down barrage to keep the enemy crippled and use my Asura racial to give them weakness and poisoned, + poison combo field. My Krytan Drakehound(Pets need a buff BAD, so does longbow, I won’t pretend they’re okay) Tackles a spellcaster and my healing spring cleanses all my buddies. I then yank out my warhorn, call down freakishly large bleed-birds on the boss and give us all swiftness.

I play a weird build but it isn’t so bad.

Besides, Ascalonian catacombs is a ridiculously hard dungeon. A school of hard knocks for newcomers. It teaches you to dodge or die and how to focus down targets.

Is your definition of hardcore ‘Poof into the enemy’s fort and slaughter them without a fifteenth of a fight’? Because that’s what I’m getting out of this. Softcore players are casuals who play for fun. Hardcores play for a challenge, and with portals the way they are a challenge is becoming less and less common on the battlefield.

I agree with the rest. I think it shouldn’t be edible until included in a cooking recipe, but once it is you can get all kinds of oh-so-delicious foods that have identical buffs to their land counterparts. Fish oils could also be included in artificing, and fish bones could be carved into charms(Borrowing from Dishonored, an awesome game) that could be used in Jewelcrafting. In other words, cooking supplement + somewhat of a money-maker?

OP obviously did not explore all his options regarding the boss. It was neither hard, nor was it boring. It kept my character moving, forced my companions to time their stuns and drag him just under the lava. If I poured too early, we suffered for it. If I poured too late, just the same. It was easy to do both.

I liked the boss, actually. It’s a nice change from another MMO where you can sit in the back hitting ‘1’ and ‘2’ and kill ‘bosses’.

To be fair, it forces enterprising explorers to do more than just exploring their world. You’ve delved the depths of Tyria, climbed her soaring peaks. Now it’s on to the unexplored, badly understood Mists.

Buuut, on a gameplay viewpoint, I disagree with most of it.

Dungeon finders destroy community and make running a dungeon just a chore. There’s no human factor in it, no real interaction. It devolves into a dying and unproductive community that prefers to just stand around idle waiting for queue. You want a great example? Look at WoW.

Yeah, health+stamina boost for outmanned. People roll onto low-pop servers and get oneshot thieves/ultra-warriors/mesmers running around rolling people with an unstoppable 20-man group and acquiring ridiculous gold and karma.
