I think this game needs dwarves and elves. I always play either one when I play other games. They are fun to use.
…Those are awful reasons for wanting a race. Elves are overused and the dwarves are all underground fighting primordus as stone. Ogden is the last surface dwarf, and he’s a priory man.
Devs acknowledge pets are broken.
Response?
See patch history.
That sounded like it’d make them… You know, actually useful. What we have now…
Not so much.
GS got a little love in the last patch, more people might be trying it out. Overall I think the nature of conversation in our forum is starting to shift away from constant whining about us being broken, so maybe it’s just a case of people spending time getting better on their Ranger instead of wasting it complaining here.
Anet is still ignoring glaring issues with Ranger, patch after patch after patch. People will keep vocalizing concerns until these issues are fixed and they don’t feel swept under the rug.
You’ve got your little niche that works for you, happy to hear it. Not all of us do.
Branded? No. They’re dragon minions, psychotic killing machines. Can’t be tamed, let alone calmed down.
Mistfire wolf is for deluxe only. It should stay that way, not as a pet.
careful now, give it a few hours and the ‘rangers are amazing at everything’ dreamteam will be up and ready to defend.
Aye. I’ve prepared for the stehl rehn of “L2play” and deep-strike insults from the Ultraproz.
To answer the title question, we’ve waited how many months? We’ve been given a cursory glance, a bucket of false promises and a saddening amount of undeserved nerfs.
They’ll probably fix Rangers on the same day that Anet does something about the sorry state of legendaries and how they aren’t epic to acquire in the slightest.
Hey folks, this should be a talk about spirits and boons, not about Anet communication. If you feel strongly about it, please start a new thread concerning it.
It will be ignored.
Good discussion.
It’s a shame that you proud few know more about Rangers than the devs responsible for them.
We’re aware that spirits need more than just skill facts – we’re working on resolving that as well.
Mind if I quote you on that?
grumbles about putting this Charr in a golem and making him into a shoe-shiner.
Besides this, nice
All it takes to master the sword is a bit of restraint. It’s easy to ‘Rock N’ Roll’ with autoattack, but the sword is a calculating weapon. If you want to be able to successfully dodge, you need to avoid auto-attack spamming and time your dodges right. The reason your autoattack ‘sticks you to your target like glue’ is because one of the functions is jumping at them. At point blank, you have nowhere to jump, and are stuck in a leap. If you time it right, you can add it to your other abilities and dance around your bewildered target without even taking damage.
But, If i spend so much time restraining myself from rooting myself, the damage from the sword will be much lower than the damage of say, the Greatsword which can attack constantly as I move.
I don’t think its worth it to unbind the auto attack because then I wouldn’t have the extra damage from the sword – so why use it?
You make a good point. I, personally, use it for when my main objective is to avoid dying. The theory, I suppose, would be that your pet would be able to do damage for you during this state of caution.
But pets are… Eugh.
You should probably use Gsword as you said when you want to do high DPS whilst moving about and hitting things rather than calculating to avoid taking damage and being the tortoise versus the hare, so to speak. The sword seems to take a slower approach to dealing damage(if you mean to live for very long during a boss fight).

2. Having a back button on the trading post. It is a bit annoying when I am viewing my buy list and select and item to view, there should a way for me to go back to my buy list.
Just click on the item again to go back. The TP UI should be a lot more user friendly however.
The TP UI is in fact shocking. Considering how polished the rest of the game is its a wonder that its in the state it is.
Rangers, necromancers and engineers are not ‘polished’.
But that’s a story for another time.
I agree with you all the way, OP. Precursors and legendaries should be something you work for, not something you get lucky for or have your trading post baron friend give you 900g for.
I see delightful dresses, suits and tunics on NPCs all around.
Why aren’t they available on the gem store? As it is, we can look dashing, but we have to put a lot of effort and, in the case of some dyes, a lot of money. 18g black dye ftl.
Hello,
The goal of this post is to get the attention of the developers.
You have failed.
Don’t feel bad or get upset. It’s just how things go. We’re ignored, promised fixes, spat in the face, wait a few months, repeat. This forum has little if anything to do with the cycle.
Don’t see any snippy fan boy come backs on this one yet.
Give it time. The ultrapros are marshalling their forces to tell us how terrible we are.
Everyone is talking about the haste nerf while the greatest troll nerf in the history of gw2 flys under the radar: pets will nowproperly preserve their cooldowns when stabled. It ’s like reaching for an empty gun in gunfight.
Why did you do it anet? Why?
They said pets needed fixing.
This is their idea of fixing.
I know, I know. I feel your pain.
For some reason I feel we’re in for another few months of silence from the dev team.
To quote Loghain, “YOU DON’T SAY >;c”
The dev team has proven for the… Third time now, I think? That they aren’t considering us. They don’t care.
If they did, surely they’d take the five minutes it takes to read our posts, take suggestions, perhaps discuss the lack of fixes on this broken profession for over one minute.
Here lies what could’ve been a great profession. Godspeed, you magnificent soul.
May you find better treatment in your next home than the unjustified torture you received here.
What's with the obsession with humongous GS?

I think Dawn is a sleeker sword, OP. You could just wield Dawn.
What flavour is that Koolaid?
Grief-o-rade, not koolaid. To clarify, it’s tropical disappointment.
I give up. Arenanet doesn’t give a flying Farrk and neither do I.
What a crock.
I run CoE a lot and most of those runs had first timers in them
Just like the people who taught you were no doubt sick of you. Oh, that’s right, you always knew how to play this game. It’s in your blood. You were born to play GW2, run CoE1, and everyone else was given that same option in the womb too, but they chose to be good at other things, those rapscallions. Yeah, I can see where you’re coming from, forget I said anything.
Femsura should have the option to wear frillier gear. That’s all we’re asking for, not for stereotypical steel-thong-with-stats armor, just an option to wear something else than authoritarian gear.
Bots track where it is, swarm over monster//chest. They get it before players can, get their masters richer. Not gonna work unless Anet gets rid of bots once and for all, and that’s not going to happen.
Death gets an undeserved bad reputation. You should form a krewe for the sole purpose of proving that death is A-Okay!
I don’t think that makes someone a fanboy, but I like what the idea can be applied to.
CHARR NEED NO HANDSOME.
WE KILLED OUR MODELS WITH IRON AND WAR MACHINES.
I do! They’re available from karma vendors in Snowblind Hills, as well as the Jotun Sword! Not sure which ones, I think the Lionguards.
I like it, but it sounds like you live in a jungle and swing from vines.
My norn warrior is Sigrid Icedale.
“Warning: This race has transcended the term of Manly. Norn are NORNLY. This race is not for the faint of heart or fragile of minds for it is the definition of EXTREME. If you have one of these, we apologize for the unfair hand fate has dealt you and will offer you one ceremonial ale, the consumption of which will be the highlight of your life. After which, we would recommend that you go play one of those easier to handle races, like Charr, and bask in the afterglow of the fact that you almost played a Norn.”
5 rangers standing still and invisible inside SM. Suddenly SM flips. Cant sweep for something that’s perma invisible.
Doesn’t have to be perma-invis. Even so, they could just craft a mechanic that dispells invis on would-be ghosts in keeps once the keep flips.
Great. You’ve given Anet something to do besides fixing important issues. Way to go >:c
IT’S THE ILLUMINATI TRYING TO KEEP US FROM LEGENDARIES AND THE TRUTH.
Keep in mind that thieves are actually magicians.
They practice Denial Magic, the same kind as Mesmers.
Seems fitting to me, as anything with magic does on Asura.
I like the idea of Asura warriors, though. A miniature Adam Jensen with takedowns to boot comes to mind.
1. LFG tool
2. Last logged in info for guilds
3. Fixing ranger pet AI
4. Adding server capacity to avoid overflow.
That’ll come after Engineer is a balanced profession…
[Snickers at how that’ll never happen]
Beats these faceroll, rewardless dragon Lieutenant fights.
Why are mounts an absolute NO?
They add something to the world… I miss galloping around on my horse in other RPGs..yet.. gw2 is my favorite game. I wish I could do it here.
Stop. Making. These. Threads.
The topic is dead. It’s been addressed. It’s kicked the bucket, it’s passed on, if it were buried it’d be pushing up daisies, but Nooooh~, you gravediggers won’t let it rest in peace, will you?! Of course you won’t! Dam you all, dam you to Black Citadel!
I love the Unicorn shortbow but…
I wanted a serious bow… Not a unicorn bow. My alternative is a flower-firing longbow of plant, something that just doesn’t look good with an Asura ranger. Maybe we could get something more… Serious as an alternative to these.
I don’t even bother with Dragons any more. The loot is all blues and greens(if I’m lucky and I even get greens), WPing there costs more than the event gives you, and the fights are just too easy to be interesting any more. My only memorable experience was at launch fighting the fire elemental with people his level that didn’t know how to fight him— in other words, that fight was a challenge. Now he dies in under two minutes.
Edit: To be fair, Balthazar was a fun fight, even if my group had no idea how to fight him and ended up failing the event.
And a guild warden should walk by and taunt them occasionally.
You can’t get mad at them for things they did not say.
Yes we can. They ignored the majority of our profession’s issues yet again. We’ve had enough, our patience is gone. If they don’t read the forum, pay attention to us and actually learn about our class, they aren’t doing their jobs.
Okay. Let us return to a time period in which we just put up, keep our eyes to the floor, buy gems and accept the mediocrity the devs are offering us. Does that sound better to you?
You’re talking like the devs are out to get you or come murder your puppy.
Why not blame yourself for not keeping up to date and talking with the host to give him your questions?
I lack the time to chat with incompetent interviewers. I have a job and a life to lead, dunno about you.
Furthermore, I have every right to speak as I do. The devs aren’t doing their jobs, and they’ve been letting a profession with so much potential sit and rust since launch and are ONLY NOW addressing a FEW of its issues and in response buffing other already balanced(and arguably overpowered) professions. I can’t stand that.
You can’t move side to side… I had soooooooo many bunkers/other rangers try this in tPvP as I was harassing from 2k (out of short bow range) and the just kept eating my arrows, that bug was fixed a while ago!
Lick wounds works 100% of the time until you die on a slope (needs fixing)
Can’t perma stow cause we are THE PET PROF anet doesn’t want us to perma stow they’ve said so A LOT now.
No issue w/ the rest of your post Ryan
You can still outrun Longbow shots. <grins> I do it all the time.
I also dodge side to side successfully and lick wounds continues to only work 45% of the time with my Krytan Drakehound.
You can’t get mad at them for things they did not say.

Aah, I understand now.
We excel underwater.
That’s it.
THAT’S IT.
:D That’s what I want to see from a balance dev team! A class that fits into only one role!
I like the idea, but I’d recommend putting it in the community works folders rather than suggestions. You were right to put it up on GW2RPers.
I have a character named Veilstray that I’m still developing. I might make him into a novelist. If I do, I’ll send some of his works your way.
To reiterate what others have said, Hrouda, It’s nothing personal. We’re just jaded.
You do make a good point about damage control, though. I appreciate your presence here, and as I said, I feel like you mean well. Whether or not well shall be done is anyone’s guess.
