WIth the recent trend of those human god outfits and now possibly new profession series starting with that monk outfit, I’m reallyreally hoping for a ritualist outfit!

Preferably the ‘popular’ one from the old box art, I think it’s Luxon or Luxon elite.

Haha whoa, I’ve played this game since the headstart and I’ve only managed to reach 200 gold for the Golden title 2 weeks back, seeing amounts like this just dazzles me. :p

Then again, whenever I have a bit of gold I spend it asap or convert it to gems to buy character slots and dress up new ones haha. This is why I will never even think of trying to go for a legendary – well, I also don’t like how they look – except the shield, so I hope that precursor never drops for me! I’ll never be able to save up all that gold and all those mats to make the legendary shield anyway, so it’s better for my sanity.

Tempest Shoulders... Is it just me?

Gaebriel.3754

I much prefer the single shoulder ring/disc that we get. To me it comes off as a much more interesting armour piece like that (though not my taste personally). Art-wise I can understand why they made it like that, if it was dual sparkling spinning shoulders it would just look like it belonged in one of those silly giant flaming shoulder gear games, and I’m so very glad that GW2 doesn’t have much stuff like that. I like that some armours are asymmetric.

With that said, having an option for both is never a bad thing, more fashion options never hurt. Then again, I’d like to see that for other pieces too. :p

who's your favorite character?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Gaebriel.3754

Gaebriel.3754

Some of my favourites are Logan, Eir, Anise and Canach. Logan because he’s kind of the paladin type and I tend to like those, same for Eir as the redhead ranger gal. :p I also liked how her past heroic adventures brought harsh consequences, in that she’s been a crappy mum and completely estranged from her son. Anise I like because she’s just an enigma, I have the feeling she is and knows far more than she lets on. The pairing of her and Canach (who I thought was kinda meh in S1) was brilliant and entertaining.

Opposed to many here, I have absolutely nothing with Tybalt. I think he could be a fairly entertaining character in some side story, but he felt completely out of place in an ancient and dead serious organisation like the Order of Whispers, it was like watching a Goofy cameo in a Lord of the Rings movie or something. I much preferred the morally grey stuff that Ihan did, like planting a bunch of undead attracting torches near a pirate camp and commenting that they’re scum anyway, thematically spot on for the Order of Whispers.

Gaebriel.3754

I don’t mind if it does a bit less damage or is a less ‘optimal’ skill, all my Norn characters will always use the bearform. It feels more like a proper Norn that way! I want my characters to have their own style and theme according to their culture and background, regardless of what’s the latest flavour of the month optimal gogogo max weapon damage setup. :p

Getting low on health because you’re swarmed by enemies, then changing into bearform and send the attackers flying left and right just feels very right for a Norn!

Tangled Paths consistent DC after dying

Gaebriel.3754

Heya, today I’m having this strange kind of disconnection issue on the last part of the Tangled Paths episode, the Teragriff battle. It’s very consistent and it goes like this: everything is completely normal, until I die!

Whenever I die, I return to the area behind the vine wall where you can interact with this blue crystal to return to the arena, but when I click it (once it happened before I clicked) the game throws me back to the character select screen with a ’can’t connect to server’ error message.

While this is an excellent exercise in learning to play my Thief alt properly, I think this hidden challenge mode isn’t exactly working as intended haha! I had the same problem earlier this evening on my Warrior alt as well, though I managed to beat it. So while I had excellent fun in trying several builds in order to not die like a muppet and thus having to do the entire instance again, I still think something needs to be fixed. :p

I usually don’t have any other disconnection issues, maybe once in a blue moon but nothing noteworthy. My internet stays on as well, and I can log in to my character again right after the game dumps me to character select. I didn’t have any problems with this episode on other characters in the past either.

True, I don’t know HoT’s exact contents but based on my enjoyment of GW2 and the value for money it has provided since its release, I’m not really one to doubt or over-analyze my purchase. I like the game, price is completely in line with those of other games/expansions, so hey.

That said, I think Tengu and to a lesser extent Kodan would make a nice addition. The others not so much. :p

Gaebriel.3754

I really liked the sneak peek at the Revenant. Sure, damage wise it wasn’t quite up there yet, but I found it quite enjoyable to play and not similar to another class. The whole look, feel and atmosphere of the class was nice. Special mention to the sound effects, they were kinda satisfying for lack of a better word. I agree that some additional customization would be good, or individual Revenants would be way too similar.

I reallyreally like how the class is kind of…dark but not too dark, if that makes sense. Usually I really dislike dark themed classes in online RPG’s, not because they’re dark but because they just seem so ill fitted to run around in a city without getting killed on sight by every guard around.

But the Revenant nailed the feeling well, kinda mysterious and sinister but nothing omgevil.

Tribal armor set

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Gaebriel.3754

Gaebriel.3754

Wasn’t the unavailability of this set originally some sort of oversight due to it being incorrectly named as Masquerade in the PvP locker? I remember the actual Masquerade set being unavailable in PvP.

I don’t think there’s anything prestigious about it, if I remember correctly the set wasn’t intended as a super exclusive thing to start with. It’s like saying the Apostle and Worn Scale sets are rare status symbols, since both are also currently unavailable due to the same reason.

The Glorious and Luminiscent sets are PvP/PvE exclusives, this tribal set was probably meant to be as exclusive to PvP as the Masquerade set was intended to be for PvE (i.e. not :P).

I prefer fashion stuff like this to be openly available though. I don’t mind if acquiring it is restricted to either of the three game modes, as long as you’re able to get it whenever you want, if you play the stuff that rewards it.

I think the only kind of stuff that should be exclusive to a certain extent, is the event or festival stuff. Preferably not locked to specific game modes, but only to the time of year.

I suddenly remember, wasn’t that whole PvP ranking stuff kinda thrown out of the window during the Glory Points transition? I remember that in the few weeks before the change, you could turn in points for random loot boxes and they gave stuff way beyond my rank.

Now I do enjoy PvE and PvP both but unfortunately I rarely take time for the latter, so my rank was kinda low especially then. I secretly hoped they’d unlock everything you earned in the PvP wardrobe for the new global wardrobe (which they did, yay!), so when I discovered that I PvP’ed quite a bit those last weeks, to haul in some of those boxes and get all kinds of stuff beyond my rank :p

In any case, I’d like to see that tribal set return, together with the other lost sets.

Gaebriel.3754

I don’t know if I’m posting this is in the right forum, since I’m not sure if it’s an actual bug or just some oddity on my part, but here goes!

Earlier today I was checking out potential new future looks on the wardrobe window and had a new set of 6 pieces previewed. Suddenly the confirmation window popped up and disappeared again for like half a second, and the random stuff I was checking out in the wardrobe was suddenly my new look.

The strange thing is that since I was in the middle of browsing pieces, my mouse cursor was nowhere near the accept changes button, let alone that I clicked it.

I’ve done the same thing many times before, so I’m not clicking that button by accident either to see what it does. :P

So this unfortunately meant that I spent 11 charges – 6 for the accident and 5 to revert it again (since one of the pieces of my original look is a free-to-apply Heritage skin), half of what I had left.

I don’t know if this is some known bug, but it makes me pretty hesitant to use the wardrobe tab in the hero panel again, since I wouldn’t like my charges to vanish like that! There’s probably no way for me to get my charges reimbursed?

If you’re comfortable with a monk-like appearance with added light breastplate, I’d suggest the HotW chest and legs, with the pitfighter (I think?) boots. The legs look unarmoured and the boots are like leather boots with metal ornaments, plus they have the front open like sandals! I I think Heavenly Bracers would go well with them too if you got those unlocked from HoM.

While I don’t have anything against farmers in the slightest, it should really be common decency to give precedence to people trying to actually complete events as intended. The edgy face-on-keyboard internet talk on those screenshots is abysmal really. Especially since I find the GW2 map chat usually rather pleasant in comparison to many online rpg’s. I wonder if such people ever learn that by being a bit nicer, they would likely accomplish what they want more easily. I mean, if I was doing something solo and someone asked me in a normal way if I could please move maps so his group can farm, I wouldn’t mind doing that at all. But if someone would go all text Rambo on me, I’d just tab out the chat and happily remain doing what I was doing (and of course check the juicy drama afterwards for great amusement :P).

In celebration of the rapidly advancing peace treaty with their former oppressors, magnificent statues have been added to both Ebonhawke and Rurikton. Both have been carefully constructed from polished stone imported from the ruined Ascalon City. Each depicts a magnificent Charr warrior, dancing on a Searing Cauldron and raising his middle finger in salute to the awestruck onlooker. When approached, sometimes the Ebonhawke Charr can be heard playing his ‘flute’ for Gwen.

In an effort to bring you amazing new and challenging content, all Jumping Puzzles now periodically turn your screen upside down. This exciting new game mode comes with an additional challenge! Coins and dungeon tokens now have a chance to fall from your pockets as you jump. This release also introduces Magnetic Pockets in the Gemstore. For only 500 gems, this nifty gadget prevents your coin from falling for two whole weeks. Each Dungeon. Laurel Vendor, Trading Post, City Entrance and Reward Chest now includes an exciting and challenging new Jumping Puzzle.

In an ongoing effort to improve the realism of Player Versus Player combat, Thieves are now permanently invisible. A good Thief is never seen, right?

Increased all knockbacks with 300%.

In an ongoing effort to improve social interactivity, we are proud to introduce the Fashion Mentoring system. The Megaservers now have a 65% increased chance to phase fashion-conscious players with colourful characters such as xXMewRawrKawaiXx the pink Charr, xxxxDarkdeathassassinsephirotHxxxx the full CoF Abyss guy and Abisaterasuderukachanpokemonviking the anime Norn. Yep that’s the one! Though this one looks to have been bugged only after the patch, it’s now a yellow item (and acquired in a different mission than before).

Coincidentally I did the mission (used to be a reward for different mission) that featured the old green Trooper Jerkin last week on another medium armour character (to make sure I got the otherwise unavailable Commando Jacket in case the announced reward adjustments removed it). The old piece still had the correct skin locked text, I remember it well since I was all ‘aw too bad that I can’t choose both’.
So it’s very recent bug. And thanks.^^

Some sort of scaling system for influence and/or missions that better accommodates smaller sized guilds would be nice. While it’s probably most efficient to be in a huge guild with tons of influence, everything unlocked and every mission always available, for me it’s far more enjoyable to be in a small guild with friends, we’re about 15 people. While we’re fairly active, after some months of forming the guild we finally managed to unlock the real Bounty Hunter mission. It’s not a bad thing to slowly work towards something, but at this rate we might see the full experience by 2018 or so. :P For what I’ve heard most missions are definitely geared towards large guilds as well, so I hope we can even get to do them together.

Though by all means I don’t want them to be easier for smaller groups, a part of me finds odd enjoyment in soul crushingly difficult stuff haha.

Another thing is guild identity. While every aspect of this game is rather “asdhlgadfsaka I have no words /drool”, currently guilds are rather bland. They aren’t really recognizable apart from the name when you mouse over another character. It would be nice to have the option to look like a coherent group if we wanted to. There’s currently only a few possible few items with guild heraldry on them. One chestpiece for each armour class, while nice is rather limited. Then there’s a few weapons featuring the guild crest, though for me, of those only the shield stands out (the exotic one that drops, not the one from the actual guild vendor). Even better, that shield is absolutely perfect!

Many games solve this identity thing with a tabard – which would be good .. but the real GW thing should of course be a cloak. Or better, a choice!

And of course I’d also like Guild Halls, GvG and all that, but that’ll be for the other topic. :P

Suggestion: titles to hunt down in the world.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Gaebriel.3754

Gaebriel.3754

This started as a different post in one of the title threads, but I think it would better be a separate suggestion, so here goes!

Since titles are a nice little bit of character customization, I would like to see a larger selection of them. And by large I mean ridiculously large!

The achievement system already registers many things you do in the game, such as how many bandits you killed or how many ales you drank. I think that adding tons of different new titles for different activities (both difficult and easy ones) would be fairly easy to implement (note that with my 0 programming knowledge I -think- such a thing would be fairly easy, for all I know it might not be) and certainly inspire people to hunt for them and feel rewarded as well. I can only speak for myself, but I would absolutely be all over it, to try and gain appropriate titles for all my characters!

For example, the different enemy Slayer achievements could each add a title similiar to the achievement name (‘the Wolfslayer’, ’Inquest’s Bane’ and such). Or perhaps fully exploring a city could give a related title (‘of Divinity’s Reach’, ‘of the Black Citadel’ and so on). Or acquiring a certain amount of skins from a race’s cultural vendor could give titles like ‘the Wolfborn’ or ‘the Seraph’.

Acquiring all the traits for a Guardian could give ‘the Stalwart’ or the same for a Thief would give ‘the Unseen’. Eating a certain amount of food would give ‘the Hungry’, or ‘the Ravenous’ perhaps ‘the Thirsty’ for drinks. Completing 100 daily achievements could give ‘the Diligent’ or ‘the Dutiful’. Getting the Swordmaster achievement could give ‘Master of the Blade’ or ‘the Swordmaster’. Killing a certain number of animals could give ‘the Hunter’.

I think such an expanded title system ties in nicely with the soon to be unveiled Collections panel, as it shares the philosophy of wandering around the open world with a purpose, to customize your characters in a minor yet satisfying way.

Also I think many roleplayers would love this.

Idea: Transmutation - Low Level vs 80

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Gaebriel.3754

Gaebriel.3754

I generally like how they changed it to the new charges system – since a charge is always a charge, no matter what level the character is. But it can be quite annoying for my pile of alts, since I usually had quite some lesser stones available. And I can’t level if my characters don’t look nice! Sooooo fashionaholic as I am, I made it into a mini game/challenge to preserve both my charges and sanity. Now whenever I level a character (pre-April patch they usually already looked like they would at max level), I try to stretch the gear as long as I can without taking hours to kill one enemy, usually I’ll go for about 10-15 levels. Then I store that original set in my bags so I remember the pieces and dyes used. After that I get a fresh new set from crafting or TP, (or at certain levels, cultural pieces) but allow myself one transmutation charge. I have tons of fun with mixing and dying the pieces as well as deciding on the best use for that single charge to complete the look! Then whenever I change again in 10-15 levels, I try not to use the previously used piece for my charge.

So yeah, take away low level transmute sucks, but I’ll just make my own kitten fun!
In hindsight, despite the inconvenience I actually enjoy it more this way.^^

"Viable"

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Gaebriel.3754

Gaebriel.3754

Viable, hahaha for me that word is in the same league with “gogogogogogogo” and “……………………….. omgffs” and to a slightly lesser degree “sub-optimal”. It seems to be used often by people who are perpetually in a hurry, so it’s an excellent indicator of people I probably wouldn’t enjoy playing with.

I mean heaven forbid that a dungeon or other activity would take five whole minutes longer, the drudgery. I think the only where viable really applies is when you take a trait that increases staff damage but you only use swords. Or when you take a rune that has special effects for shouts, but don’t use shouts. Or when you gear for healing but you really never ever ever ever touch your healing button and it has been collecting cobwebs since level 10.

There’s of course nothing wrong with speedruns, I think I might enjoy the challenge myself occasionally. But it’s preposterous to apply its criteria to everything in the game including PUG groups in dungeons. Viable, lol. You know what’s not viable? Royal purple and Blood Red on your assassin character! I mean .. red and purple! /faint

I think this whole grind thing is just in the mind. If you approach everything as a loading bar to a reward, everything will be just like that, a loading bar to a reward.

For example, I’m currently saving up for the Laurels of Cooperation. I don’t try to make a maximum gold per hour ratio or whatever people call it, so that I can buy it yesterday. I just play and enjoy, then after some days I’ve got enough gold to buy it. To me that’s quite similar to farming enemies for a certain item to drop. Only I’m not restricted to a certain part of the world, but can do this everywhere I’d like.

Occasionally I get a gem card too, but I’ve never done this to “bypass grind”. More like when they release something that I really like and I’m like “Ha awesome I want this nooow!”

The only thing I dislike about the gemstore, is the “limited” (more like recurring) offers. Just throw in everything all at once already. I probably would have bought some of the weapon skins had they been available earlier. I made a noble human mesmer somewhere last year, the Kasmeer staff would have been a great fit – if it were available at the time! Now the staff is available in the store again, but I haven’t bought it – my mesmer found a different staff that she became quite attached to! To properly make money off of me, things need to be available all the time so I can buy it on impulse haha. :P

There were generally a lot of story elements that I liked. For example listening to each leader’s concerns at the summit, or Taimi doing something stupid and suffering the consequences for it.

And this is the part that makes me thing there is an eerie vibe of fakeness to most of the praise lately. I liked the party – it is completely out of the blue when it had already been established the Queen would show up, and felt mostly like filler to present Anise/Canach, but it was still alright. So was the dragon fight; It was obvious the Shadow of the Dragon would show up again, but it was a good introduction. (Relatively, it is awesome gameplay wise, storyline wise it still makes no sense your character is left alone to fight it.)

But the “leader’s concerns”? You mean their incoherent behavior that wouldn’t need a summit to be addressed as common sense, that is magically solved by your character stating “No you are wrong.” and them going “Oh right, I forgot about that thing that happened two minutes ago. Guess we are staying!… For now!” ?
Taimi’s behavior? The biggest cliche in a poor writting setup, rehashed in the most basic and tedius way to then make your battle seasoned commander shrug it off as “oh well lol what can you do”?

I understand tastes be tastes and excitement and whatnot, but I would say there are limits in writting quality anyone should be able to notice, and the blatant amount of pointlessness to most of these things, and the incoherent behaviors of world leaders, fall into those categories.

Also, this episode featured positive NPC improvements of characters I normally disliked. Like many people I was never fond of Trahearne, but I didn’t find him annoying even once during this episode, which was quite a positive surprise to say the least. And without entirely changing him, he was still Trahearne, just with better and more believable dialogue. I also never liked Braham, but he has improved quite a bit recently, this episode in particular, he finally got some character.

And that positive improvement was… giving them no dialogues except a few comments of no particular relevance?

I think it’s rather preposterous to hint in your post that my praise of the story is somehow fake because I like some parts that you don’t. I’ve been quite fond of the entire new season so far, not just this episode.

As someone who also quite enjoys roleplaying, I’m quite critical about writing and dialogue especially. Scarlet in season 1 was presented as a horrible muhaha zany cartoon villain, though she admittedly got a bit better near the end. Trahearne was the most uninspirational miscast commander ever, with his ridiculous deus ex machina undead. I’m absolutely not full of praise by default. While I love the Tyria setting from both GW1 and GW2, the 2nd half of the personal story and the majority of season 1 just often suffered from less engaging storywriting and pacing. Maybe partly because it’s quite a new format to write game stories, at least I’ve never played a game before that did a similiar thing as the LS.

So yes, I think it’s exciting they’ve apparently learnt from past mistakes and are now running an engaging and enjoyable 2nd season. Sure it’s not flawless at all times, I mean look how Taimi’s golem instantly repaired itself. But I can easily overlook minor things such as that, as long as the story remains interesting and adhering to previously established lore.

Sure, the racial dialogues with the leaders were compact and swiftly “solved”, but they served their purpose very well, or at least what I think their purpose was: to give us some insight on why they were willing/hesitant to combat this new threat, as well as add flavour to the mission part. Oh I surely would have prefered it if they each in turn had a 20 minute dialogue in which they had to debate with the player, I would have loved that really haha. But it also has to fit somewhat with the game format so that we can progress with the story. That’s why the dialogues were definitely “good enough” for me – they provided relevant info, were racially appropriate and didn’t stall the story progression for an hour to be able read everything.

The positive improvement for Trahearne (he had quite some lines) was that he just came across as more believable. Whenever he said something before I would usually go aaargh, and now I didn’t, at all. To me that’s a huge improvement for that character already.

I think they should just stick that box in Rata Sum permanently.

Oh that’s rather awesome, I like the strange collar. Quite a niche style however, really needs a particular character concept. Will excellently suit one of mine though!

I agree that I prefer full sets so I can mix and match, but then again we have so little outfits anyways (I’m not too fond of the “boss costume” ones like Mad King) so I’m glad they’ve been expanding that range a bit recently!

PLS respect player's time: skip dialogue

As a roleplayer it feels terrible to advocate skipping haha, but especially with the summit part I totally agree that that option would be a good thing for the achievement playthroughs. Should be unskippable the first time of course! Since it’s an RPG, sitting through the story at least once should be mandatory!

I am starting to think either Anet has managed to hit a vein of hype with some minor point of this update, hired people to deflect the walls of hate with randomly positive comments or the floodgates of new players that have barely experienced the game have opened by the end of summer.

Haha what? That’s rather ridiculous. I’m full of praise for this new season, but that doesn’t mean it’s flawless all the time. I’ve played GW2 since release, plenty of experience here. Not everyone is perpetually negative and cynical, despite gaming forums being full of the stuff. I’m not a frequent poster either, it’s just that I wanted to express my enjoyment of what they’re doing with the new season since I think it rocks.

As said, for me the whole season 2 so far has been great with its venturing into unknown lands vibe, only marred by the initial bugs in episode 3. I especially liked this episode in particular, because it featured some of my favourite stuff. It explored human political backstabbing and starred the mysterious countess Anise, one of my favourite characters, in a lead role. There were generally a lot of story elements that I liked. For example listening to each leader’s concerns at the summit, or Taimi doing something stupid and suffering the consequences for it. And then of course the boss battle. I honestly expected just an oversized champion to jump through the roof, not the Shadow Dragon from the Sylvari PS trying to burst into the chamber.

What I also found interesting, was the sentence she spoke to Kasmeer, about nobility. Perhaps my tinfoil hat appeared suddenly, but that struck me as rather peculiar coming from a countess. Also, we went back to the countess – who we know is loyal, from the PS – to see if she was actually speaking the truth. That seemed as if it just served to make us as players wonder about her motives, in case we didn’t pick up on other hints.

Also, E! Wasn’t the player character the only one who received correspondence from E until now? Mysterious ..

Marjory was contacted first by him. He probably has a wide range of contcats to… contact.

Ah thanks! Totally forgot about that!

Yep, they have subtle light blue patterns on them. I love it, immediately bought the sword for my Guardian’s collection! First time I ever used a BL ticket. :-)

I love simple and elegant designs, high-level skins don’t need to be full of skulls and on fire to be cool. I’m glad that the majority of the weapons in this game adhere to that.

Anise was one of my favourite characters from the storyline, I was happy to see her return in a leading role! Also she paired perfectly with Canach also a great character. Their dialogue was excellently written, it was funny without ever detracting from the seriousness, I loved it.

I see the salvage-o-matic, home instance nodes, collection expander and infinite tools as quite unnecessary and expensive. It’s convenient enough to just buy salvage kits/tools when you come across a merchant while leveling, or gather the materials from the ore nodes in the low level zones. For me, the best (and only!) buys are the cosmetic gear sets and outfits, character slots, rarely transmutation charges and bank tabs. Especially since you mention you roleplay, you might like to have a nice variety of looks to choose from.

The gear sets unlock in your wardrobe once bought, though they require charges (but you can transmute each piece once for free). The outfits are a kitteneaper, but can only be used as a whole and toggled on/off in your outfit slot. They do have four dye channels and you can disable the helm/hood, however.

Actually, as a Commander of the Pact I think it is way more in-character that the player character defers to the Council Asura, instead of giving in to Taimi who – despite being a traveling companion and genius – is still a child and has acted irresponsibly several times throughout the story. That’s of course very much in-character for her, but from the viewpoint of a Commander it is clearly the better choice to defer to the experienced Asura of the Council. Phlunt might be a snarky kitten like most of them, but he probably didn’t obtain his position (in a culture that seems to be based on meritocracy) by being incompetent.

/sigh

You have a point. However, expecting Taimi to just roll over and take it is wrong. You should be making it VERY clear that Taimi is the inventor, and she WILL be getting full credit in official records. If he tries to claim credit for it or any related inventions, he’ll look like an idiot that steals his best ideas from children.

If need be, I’d do this by giving Taimi a battlefield promotion to the Vigil’s lead expert on the matter, with all requests for information about such subjects needing to be directed through her. (And then, have a quiet talk with her about not abusing her new rank, unless she wants to be buried in paperwork and never see a lab again.)

I don’t know if stating such things to Phlunt is even necessary. As far as I’ve understood (though I might be very wrong, I still have to make an Asura character one day!) stealing others’ inventions seems like a no-go in Asura society, a vile thing that’s more like associated with the InQuest. As far as I’ve understood Asura culture, it’s much more of a proof of one’s intellectual superiority (and thus granting more prestige) to invent something from the ground up, as opposed to stealing the ideas of someone else. To me it seemed like the Council wishing to examine it for the benefit of Asuran society as a whole (as they kind of built the waypoint network), since it’s obviously a groundbreaking device. I doubt that they would claim it as their own and erase all Taimi’s credit for it, since that just doesn’t seem the Asura way.

As a Pact Commander, I assume the player character is at least basically aware of such cultural customs, having worked extensively with the various races under his or her command.

Also as a Commander, giving Taimi a rank in the Vigil would be highly irresponsible, because she’s still a child. There’s actually a reference to that reasoning: somewhere around Vigil Keep there’s an NPC conversation that involves an enthusiastic kid begging a Vigil member to allow him to join their ranks, since he wants to help save the world. The Vigil guy seems endeared, but tells him that he can’t join them, because he’s still a kid. Eventually, he tells him he will talk to an officer (can’t recall that part exactly), to see if he might be allowed to help as a squire of sorts, cleaning swords etc.

I’ve done each episode once, on my main character. I will definitely do them again on other level 80’s and to try for the achievements, but a bit later. After all, I can do it whenever I want now, not going to spoil that for myself by immediately doing every episode over and over again right off the bat.

Even if we had just four episodes until now, I kind of don’t mind. I think this season is about ten times the quality of the first one, so in my eyes they can take as many breaks as they want. I always prefer quality over quantity, as long as the current story stays as engaging as it is, I won’t complain. I didn’t try any of the new story achievements yet, so if I want to, I’ve got plenty of new challenges to do during the break.

Last season I luckily had time to check out all the story parts, but missed out on quite some achievements that I would have liked to try, as well as the Molten Facility dungeon (I was happily surprised that it’s now a fractal! <3). For me it’s so much better that I can now do stuff like that whenever I like, without pesky limited time windows.

While most of the PS player voice actors were pleasant, I actually like it better when my own characters stay silent. That way I can imagine their voices in my head, since most of them would sound different to the standard race/gender voice actors from the PS.

There is way too much reading and dialog anymore for what is supposed to be a game.

Even if it has action combat, it’s still an RPG. Which means that lots of dialogue and text is a good thing. I’m all for even more of it than we already have! ^^

Besides, if you really want to, you can just click through everything, takes a few seconds at most.

While it’s of course not done to ask a woman her age like that, there’s just something in that dialogue that hints at more. She’s getting more mysterious by the minute! And now also with that locket from an earlier episode ..

Never saw this thread before, really interesting theory.

Some of them are just krytan weapon reskins….

Luckily I love the Krytan weapon skins!

The Chaos Sword that I just bought looks similiar in design to the Krytan one (which I think is a very good thing), but is quite different!
