Fear The Crazy [Huns]
(edited by Gandarel.5091)
Without offending anyone, devs are building this pvp for roughly 40-80 players and 4-6 shoutcasters.
But soon even they will rage out.
I hope ArenaNet will realize at some point that 50% of GW2’s population is from GW1, and abandoning every single well working and pretty much loved features and gamemodes were bad ideas, and bring back something.. like HA
Not the exact same way, like different maps, diffrent team size (five), and different gamemodes, but the main concept of a global tournament with great variety where you can feel you can progress by winning a match and with a goal to get to the Hall of Heroes, where the best can compete and get to the observer mode.
They could keep conquest with this tournament based mode, call the teamque GvG (it’s already happening, well top teams are guild and that could be expected) add a guild rating and replace hotjoin with HA for a lighter but competitive scene.
And everyone is happy
(edited by Gandarel.5091)
+1 for HA.
Bot to the other parts..
And to have issues understanding the very few PvP titles we have.. it takes 1-2 days of playing pvp to learn them.
Takes 1-2 days to get the Champion X title? What?
Not Earn, Learn.
Temple is the best map currently, you take it away because a random guy wrote to do so?
There are 999999999 suggestions you should listen to but this isn’t one of them.
+1 for HA.

Our lord and savior, Evon Gnashblade the noble and merciful, wisely left the legions to serve the people of all races for the greater good.

Pony bow. I just can’t stand it. I try to position my character every single time at fractals or other dungeons to cover out the pony shooting effect.
What is this, hello kitty online? You are in a middle of an epic fight and BAM PONY RANBOW kitten.
Please, add an option to disable legendary weapon effects on other players, or just remove this weapon.
Were you stoned or got donation from a spoiled rich 6 years old girl?
No offense.
short answer: no
long answer: nooooooooooo
Real answer: vote for Evon.
Hall of Heroes was a tournament, akin to gladiators in ancient Rome but not by slaves or indebted folks but adventurers and fighters. See the GWW’s entry on Lord Odran for more.
The Mist War is a war with an unknown force (to characters) that is claimed to be pure evil and trying to invade Tyria.
The strange and totally not logical part is that, why don’t they try to consult and make a treaty? Instead of fighting each other in the mists, they should trade forces to help out each others’ worlds.
Well, maybe they wouldn’t trust each other that much, but this warring is pointless. Crafting bonuses won’t save Tyria.
Well, there is an Ascalonian Wade Samuelsson, but yeah, it seems most of the Tyrian rulers haven’t got surnames, however, would be strange to not to if even the farmers got them. But to hide it is even stranger.
Elonians and Canthans have them for sure (Ossa, Heltzer, Wasburg and so on)
Hello,
Are the Charakteres we’re playing really just fighting other Creatures for an unknown reason, because Portals bring them there?
Exactly. No lore in WvW.
And about HoH, what getefix said.
I’ve foud a new detail in a recent guildmag post:
“I fear that Abaddon’s tale has much more to it than a deadly vengeance born of a misunderstanding, and one day the details of his fall shall be revealed.”
Well, I think experiencing this story is something really worth it.
I like Kiel..
But.. Evon HAS to win!
Sadly its almost too late for solo queue. I can’t wait to see the f’d up queue times once it’s in its going to be wretched.
If there would be rewards for teamque and soloque ratings ppl would play.
are you serious? We are unable to have gold in PvP??
Well, once I made 200 dyes, and almost got 2 gold out of it, which is roughly 56 gems.
Or do you know any other methods? The daily gives 2 coppers, I know.
This is theonly reason you can bring up against this fractal to support your awesome 87524th asura explosion fractal.
Then answer me some questions, because i do not know what happened:
-Where did the battle take place?Over the crystal sea, now the crystal desert.
-Were all the gods fighting, even Dwayna? Then how did she contribute to the battle? Healing other gods or..?
-How was he defeated? A hammer blow, a godly spell or something else? Maybe Abaddon’s predecessor came back somehow for a final stand and sacrificed himself?Mortals cannot even lay eyes on the gods without going blind. How could they possibly comprehend how gods fight? Dwayna doesn’t just heal. She is the goddess of air and lightning as well.
-Which army fought the margonites? Forgotten only, or Orrians too?
-Did all orrians opposed Abaddon?
These are just some questions. The followers of the other 5 gods are the ones who fought the margonites.
We know where the reactor explosion happened, we’ve been there 99999 times, we know it was the inquest who caused the explosion.
I would also like to know more about the reactor, but not at this cost.
We actually have no idea what caused the explosion. The reactor was an inquest lab to begin with, as they were experimenting with dragon energies. Think of it as Infinity Coil 1.0. Rumors have been circulating around Rata Sum that it was destroyers that caused the explosion.
Crystal sea? Thank you captain obvious, I’m intrested in bit more specific details.
Gods and their followers fought the margonites? Thank you again, captain.
Well, I fought Abaddon and I’m not blind. Also this is a fractal, it is possible that you will not go blind.
The fall of Abaddon is kinda vague…or did Anet confirm whether it meant the battle between the six gods or when kormir became a god.
It is the battle that took place 1172 years prior to Gw1.
We don’t know why the reactor exploded. Also abaddon is dead who cares about him, the reactor might have something that matters about the current dragons. The inquest have been doing their own research in the dragons. What I say is if you want abaddon go to gw1, I heard he is mentioned a lot there. People who never did play gw1 even knows who he is.
This is not the GW1 arrogant little asura.
Rank isn’t meant to be a display of skill. It’s for personal progress. It’s the same as levels in PvE only it takes 1000 times longer.
While on the forums everyone agrees, nobody will take r9 guys to an r40+ team, and there’s a reason they are looking fo r40+ to play with.
My guild does alot of ingame events and we´d like to host a tournament once a month. Problem is we´d only be willing to pay the initial cost of 1600gems and then only add tokens when we host these events. It´s ridiculous that our CA would be deleted if we don´t keep adding tokens to it. I´d much rather be able to re-activate it whenever I want instead of having to buy a new CA kit for 1600 gems once my old one gets deleted ( what were you thinking anet?)
We are a 500member guild on the Gandara server and imo Arena Net has made a big mistake as it would be guilds like us that introduce more /new players to spvp.
PvP = 0 gold, 0 gold = 0 gem
Still, PvP has the most expensive consumable non-permanent item in the gemstore.
The idea is to get real $$$ from pvpers with those arenas. With 500 people in your guild, with less than 10cent/month each you could mantain a couple CA with no issues
I know. But while their income from PvE is split into many many cheaper items, they want to make all the PvP income from one item, while we can’t even buy gems from gold.

If the Fall of Abaddon will lose because of 7-8 spared silvers from wayponts then I will be mad.
(edited by Gandarel.5091)
When doing the trial for each candidate Gnashblade says he wants the loot for himself and Kiel says she wants to return the loot to its owner. Why on earth would anyone want to elect Evon Gnashblade to “serve the people”?
And before anyone answers “Abaddon”, would you really rather have a visual representation of lore you’ve known for eight years over a chance to learn something entirely new about the world of Tyria in the Reactor Meltdown?
Never go full kitten.
The only arguement you can bring up against the most epic fractal ever period, is that we know what happened.
Then please, tell me what happened because I do not know.
Where did the fight happen? Who were the fighting armies aside from margonites? All orrians supported the 5 gods? Who casted Abaddon down? How?
Observer mode so new guys could know how to play what to use and so on.
Hunting streamers with 1% success rate isn’t something newcomers will do.
at this point, rank is already meaningless.
just show ladder rating after soloq split and stop show rank on scoreboard
But currently, hotjoin heroes will have r80 years faster than top players.
This can still be reverted.

Well, hotjoin was great for newbies to understand basics (very very basic things), but after a while it is a thing that destroys Pvp from within.
It’s just mindless zerging that makes PvP ranks a bit meaningless. If devs won’t take hotjoin away, then at least give 2 rank points for a kill, 5 for capture, 5 for capturieng the orb, 5 for communing and 1 for trebutchet usage.
This would slow down rank grinding and maybe once again good players would have the higher ranks, because tournaments and tournament wins would give the better rewards.
Also, give bonus rank poins above a given rating for winning a tournament match.
Maybe making 100b to absorb projectiles?
Read between the lines. My posts are like Bible verses with hidden meanings.

We can agree on the Odin thing for sure!
Btw the PvP balance team needs kodans. Because they are the race that maintains balance >_>
But how would you remove it if the target cannot be targeted? More aoe?
Or if i can see you in stealth, wouldn’t that count as invulnerable? Wouldn’t that take away the surprise/ambush if you can clearly see the thief walking toward you?
The current stealth implementation makes it possible for melee characters (by way of their frontal 180-arc 130 range PBAoE to still hit targets. Ranged characters can also manually adjust their camera so that the launched projectile can hit the stealth target reliably.
Also, most boon-strip AOEs aren’t harmful, and in this case the AOE themselves are deterrent if they’re cast to the ground already, as you can dodge condi application through AOE via dodging. If they’re trigger based AOE, then dodging will also prematurely detonate them.
All of the Necormancer boon removals need a target, except for the well.
You have these support tokens, if you give one to Evon/Kiel, their counter raises.
Whoever will get more support tokens, wins.
I have not had the chance to play, but there is a counter? Thanks.
There’s no in-game counter that we can see, but there in the Arenanet HQ they know the results.

You forgot about how they are allied with the Centaurs against Kryta.
They aren’t allied against Kryta. If they would, that would mean lionguards attacking Krytan merchants, not giving them permission to trade, and burning the villages. – instead they defend trade routes and Krytan merchants.
Instead, they made a treaty with the centaurs that says ‘lionguards won’t harm centaurs if they don’t harm lionguards or havens’ – and havens are accepting refugees.
But how would you remove it if the target cannot be targeted? More aoe?

Global Mists? Or as Evan asked some days ago, maybe districts for the Mists? :P
So EVERYONE is saying those things right? Not just “high” tiered players? I think that is safe to assume that anyone with a reasonable mind can have a say in the balance discussion, not just those looking to segregate the community into “tiered” levels.
And yes, if you’ve played the game it’s pretty evident.
Lets break this down:
I think that is safe to assume that anyone with a reasonable mind can have a say in the balance discussion
Do you think a bronze level LoL player would have been suggesting the shift from Resistance based defense to HP based defense between seasons 2 and 3?
Do you think a bronze level player would understand the cause and impact of the support items being shifted to junglers in S3?
Do you think a silver level Sc2 player understands why void rays have not been nerfed yet dominate him every game against a protoss?
The answer here for the large majority is no. Unless you follow a game thoroughly (watch ever LCS/WCS match ect.) there is no way a low “tier” player will comprehend enough about the highest levels of play because they have not experienced it.
not just those looking to segregate the community into “tiered” levels.
No one is looking to segregate anything. It just so happens that some players put more time into the game and are better at it. These are “top tier” players. There is no push to create some super elities top tier group, it just happens nauturally.
I haven’t played those games, but I’m sure that you can browse the forums of those servers and you’ll more than likely find players within those categories who did just fine identifying those same issues.
And just to be clear, “They should just make a forum for the top 2% of players that spvp in Gw2…..” Yes, someone was looking to segregate the players and that was the person I was speaking with.
There are opinions that will always be valued over others; because they have the experience, an on looker might have a very good understanding of the meta, but he lacks the experience to full comprehend what’s going on, that is the issue here.
That’s it period, I don’t know how you can argue about this for so long, when its a very obvious subject, to me this seems like you are just arguing for the sake of it, so please just take this to pm’s and stop derailing a topic yet again. Why is it that every time someone has a differing opinion than you guys, and by you guys I mean those who are “top tiered” it’s always someone “trolling”, going “off topic”, and “derailing” when it is a discussion that was instigated by those said people? If I want to have a discussion, I’ll have it. I don’t need your permission to do so. If I feel ,within the course of a topicc that someone says something I agree/disagree with and I choose to converse with them then I will. That is what these boards are for and I don’t need you to police my posting.
You are the one who is attacking others for their opinions all the time (and they are the ones who are right).
Maybe you are bored and decided to challange the top players rathter on the forums, idk.
Pointless arguing is all you can do.
What are the other long-standing requests that aren’t reward overhaul and not balancing?
HA and GvG.
Just kiddin’.
E-sports
People will continue to play rated premade tournaments if real rewards are added.
Usually there is and I’m curious if I can watch it on twitch :P
You guys basically want 8 professions that are the same with different skill names.
They will return, just vote for Evon.
Otherwise, never.
^ Why would we use single-target skills if AoE does the same or even better damage but in.. AoE?
And this is the main thing why damage is out of control.
i just want to voice my support for a return of Cantha. Cantha was by far the most compelling continent for me on GW1 – it added richness and diversity to the game. as far as humans go in GW2, what we have now is a sea of white people – hardly any diversity among the humans at all. as a result, they are not that interesting to me.
almost a year into GW2 and no sign of Cantha or Elona. sad. hopefully the never-ending living story will bring us back to these lost shores.
Which is wierd – the white people thing. Krytans weren’t white in GW1.
Exactly, true Krytans were directly descended from Canthans (and some offshoots of Elonians) anyway. I think now though, with the re-absorbing of all the Ascalonians that fled Ascalon, the devs decided to just default to white Krytans, which is pretty disappointing to me. You can still find a few non-white Krytans though if you look enough. Completely off the original topic in here though lol. Just thought I’d point that out.
Krytans were descendants of Elonians, nothing to do with Canthans.
But with the fall of Ascalon, western cultures and people could’ve been find only in Ebonhawke. So they gave us a nation, but Kryta is pretty much mixed.
Where exactly does the most expensive non-permanent item in the gemstore, which is being an item for players who can’t really buy it from doind what they do in-game – pvp – says it will delete itself if you don’t buy time in 2 weeks?
This should be a permanent purchase and if time runs out, you can’t use it until time is added but shouldn’t be deleted. Just remove it from the browser.
I understand that Arenanet wants to make money from PvP gemstore, and that’s alright, but we can’t make gold from PvP, therefore can only get gems from irl currencies or lvling a PvE char to 80 and grinding PvE. Also, it feels like they want to make all the PvP income from one item – and that can be seen on the price and that it will delete itself.
Don’t make this iteme delete itself!
Are there any plans to make changes to the item regarding this topic?
My main was a nec in PvP, until the recent balance patch. Since that and the lack of unrated/solo que I do fractals on guard..
‘But why if nec is op?’ – you may ask. But I don’t like it. I just have to give up any kind of customization, even the small amount of survivability through soul reaping, because the burning + terror beats everything. I rush in, kill or die in 5 seconds, instead of the old ‘dominating from the background and ressing teammates with signet of undeath’ thing.
Nec was not the best before patch, but if you know ow to use it, you could be successful.
Just give us more life force generation, remove burning, nerf fear damage, bring back old signet of undeath and that’s all, nec is balanced.
Otherwise, the skill changes are fine.
Actually this would bring back the aggro system and tanks, something that GW2 is against.
awww that’s a shame, I thought that might have been interesting to see that perhaps some largos had been to the surface world previously and interfered in the affairs of the other races.
Are you stoned when you are making such connections, btw?
I want it to be fun and show the avatars and statues of the gods as they were in gw1. I don’t like their updates to the statues, feels wrong. A few things that puzzles me, what was Menzies doing at the time, who was in charge of the underworld at the time, and who was the goddess of water and secrets before abaddon, and how long was it after he took her place that he fell?
I think (not completely sure) that Grenth was in charge of the underworld, but I might be wrong. Afaik there was no goddess of water and secrets before him, but in the GW1 campaign Nightfall Kormir replaces him.
There was a predecessor to Abaddon btw, but who, is unknow.
a power station is cooler than an epic historic battle of the gods? after about 1300+ years, will the story of the thaumanova still be told?
Will the story of Chernobyl still be told?
Context, dear Watson. That´s the whole point, we´re pretty much aware of the Abaddon thing and the dim outline of the event. I´d like to hear new stories, not a rehash of old stuff.
Asuras make explosions each day. But gods don’t often make such battles that can shape 1/3 of a continent.
And we know equal amount of information about these events. Maybe even a bit more about the reactor.
If you know so much about the battle between the gods, then who actually defeated Abaddon, all the 5 combined or only Grenth/Balthazar? Or maybe the predecessor of Abaddon somehow came back, sacrificed himself and casted him down? Where did the battle take place, who else were fighting, how was he actually defeated?
Reactor:
We know the place. We know who did it. We know it was a sabotage. We know the exact results. We can go there each day.
Also, gods are unlikely to return to Tyria, this is our ONLY CHANCE to see them, and we should live with it.
(edited by Gandarel.5091)
I would like a twist.
In the depiction of the event it shows Abaddon as unjustly betrayed by a jealous pantheon and history written to silence him and tarnish his name. And have the reveal done in such a way that you couldn't really tell if the fractal was glitching up its extrapolated data to fill in the blanks, or if there was some truth to the depiction.
This would be the final part of the kitten ing the lore gets.
I actually vote for the Orrian soldiers fighting Margonites seeing the gods fighting, sometimes making a little interactions, like one of them reflect/dodgess a spell that destroys a bridge and we have to chose another path.
Adding skills/traits at a slow pace won’t exactly break the game.
It will however still cause the problems I described; it will require more maintenance.
Also, the 25 June, 2013 patch turned every thing in a hardcore-spam-no-skill festival and all they did was change a few traits – what exactly makes you have faith in them?
Not to mention the " there is too many skills to balance properly " citation by ANet in Guild Wars 1.
Actually, GW1 was easier to balance I think.
Gw1 had over a thousand skills, and thousands of possibilities; it had the most diversity out of every game, you had tonnes of different game types (“Tombs/HA”, “GvG”, “TA”, “RA”, “HB”, “AB”), and objectives (“annihiliation”, “king of the hill”, “victory or death/lord damage”, “relic runs”, “cap points”). How can you possibly think that is easier to balance than this?
Maybe reading the rest of my comment would help.
