Finally, she will announce that PvP will have some care too. (since we had no content since release, ok, we got 4 maps, awesome, you are still doing the same and the community refuses to play 3 out of the 4 new maps – same gamemode, same bad matchmaking, still no reward for being highrated, still no rewards for being highranked, still no rewards for any kind of time investment, we can’t even get the living story skins from PvP, and it feels like playing CoF p1 with rating all day because of conquest being the sole gamemode).

This will shock the PvE crowd, because maybe they won’t get content every two weeks, maybe just 3, so the PvP developement can finally enter the Beta.

The thing that will improve with the matches is your priority list. To know when it’s worth letting down your teammates in teamfight for a midbuff, to know that you have to kill that enemy trebutchet as soon as possible once they start to fire it and to know when it’s worth finishing off an anemy instead of ressing an ally or the opposite, and so on.

Yesterday i got a guy in my team like 10 times (at least).

Which actually means that the system has some consistence, that’s the good news. The bad news is, that it obviously doesn’t have enough people to work with, that’s why you keep getting matched-up with the same people…

I guess we have to stay patient and hope for the best. I still like playing soloque… I did not like queing up solo in the old system however, so to me personally, this is a step forward.

There’s too little rating difference between top and worst players. A guy with 10 matches can earn a better rank than a guy with 1000.

When the only qualifying measure, on a leader board, is wins and losses (for solo play) it will simply never work in a game that you cannot carry people in. If it was death match, you could carry. In conquest, you cannot carry 4 other people. If you get at least 1 other competent person on your team you’ll win more than you’ll lose.

Exactly. They found the only gamemode where soloque doesn’t work. And this is a talent.

I’m sure this will be a human land, just look at the city-sized god temples. Charrs would have to demolish that. Humans wouldn’t be pleased. Also if the charrs say they conquered it, it’s theirs (btw they never conqauered it, just assaulted it), then why are the Seperatists bad guys? Humans conquered Ascalon AND built a kindom they inhabited for 1400 years and now they only have the Fields of Ruin. So basically a war would break out for Orr and Ascalon.

A part could be reclaimed by humans as New-Ascalon, and another part as Krytan authority. Or a united human nation where a senate of royal-bloodline kings/queens/warmarshals/emperors rule over a newly united humanity once again.

Or maybe if Elona gets liberated, an Ossa will unite Elona, reclaim the crystal desert and will claim Orr too.

I’d certainly like to have the Fall of Abbadon fractal completed too. But I am so sick of this political stuff. I would gladly join in asking for the fractal, but not in a mob bashing the candidate that won the election.

Sadly this is the state of our world. You can’t mention anything remotely similar to politics without foaming fanatical fools raising pitch forks for the person they back. This is why no matter how many ask we won’t get this fractal. Although the Fall of Abaddon was covered pretty well in Nightfall. He gave magic to humans and as humans always do they abused that gift. The Gods took it away after being brought to their attention him and his followers got mad and went to war. He lost was imprisoned in an disembodied state and plotted revenge that set the stage for the events of Prophecies, Factions, and finally Nightfall.

If only i could explain to you somewhow that we aren’t against Kiel and not for Evon, that chapter is over. We are for the fractal, and not over the other fractal, but as a bonus.

And this is not the Nightfall battle, it is the one more than 1 thousand years before GW1 where the other gods defeat him.

Are we really still talking about this, seriously? Waypoints was part of the deal of Kiel winning? Because me, my guild, and my friends have had long, spirited discussions about this. We agreed that we could care less about the lower waypoint costs part. We wanted to see a fractal that was more based on the lore of guild wars 2 rather than pre-guild wars 1. And that Kiel was a better choice for the Lions Arch council than Evon.
We also agreed that the chances for a Fall of Abaddon fractal actually showing the Gods fighting was…less than the chance of getting a precursor, 0%. As there would be no way Anet would show this.

Btw how can you make decisions and conclusions about plans you know nothing about? Will you get over it? Is it not possible for you to concieve that some peopple might actually not have cared one single iota about cheaper WP costs? You have your reasons for wanting the Abaddon fractal and others had theirs for wanting Thaumanova Reactor fractal.

Nah. We aren’t protesting for Evon (that1s just the in-game part). Look, if you wanted the Reactor, I don’t mind it. But most of the Kiel supporters I met (and I met many), were voting because they didn’t care about the fractals (never played them) or want cheaper WP. Or just don’t care.

I know there is a reasonable Kiel base and I totally don’t want to offend them, but the thing is Kiel won this election with the combination of RNG hate/cuteness/fractal/WP/we knew her/don’t care about vote. While Evon only had a fractal as a notable offer.

Kiel won because there was mainly three groups:

- Those voting Kiel because they like her or anything she would provide.
- Those voting Evon because they like him or anything he would provide.
- Thse voting Kiel because they don’t what Evon to win for what he represents, namely the bad stuff they don’t like in the gem store, such as RNG boxes or skins sold as perishable items instead as unlocks.

Why I don’t mention “People voting Evon because they don’t like Kiel”? Because those are negligible. Kiel is too bland to get enough haters.

But by making the other choice a character related to the Store, they made that side lose. And that showed how there’s many room for improvement in the store, and how those annoying Nexon cahs milking tactics are not liked by lots of players and how they want Pay Once brought back from the GW1 days.

when you think about new game modes, you need to think of them like a new map so they dont need to split queue, because we already have quite small pvp community… so free for all is impossible…

i would like to see some classic modes… team deathmatch, king of the hill, capture the flag etc even conquest with different number of nodes could be interesting, maybe 2 or 4? or siege mode, where 1 team def and 1 team attack and vice versa in second round, team who gets further or finish in shorter time wins

If they don’t give us content, the community will only shrink. GW1 had RA/TA/HA/GvG/Codex/AB/JQ/FA/HB, with different sub-gamemodes within each, and still everything was filled with players.

If you got bored of one, you went to another. If you get bored of conquest, you can go and do PvE. That’s a difference. And ofc 2 ques based on one single gamemode won’t work out and won’t carry a whole MMO PvP.

If we would have something to play, maybe more people would play.

The combat system is awesome. But only one gamemode? And they are wondering why is there almost no PvP population.

PvE gets a new content every 2 weeks. And they remove 80% of that content some weeks after. Waste of resources while it took 6 months to add a soloque.

They told us the reason behind it was that they had to adjust the maps to fit soloque. The only change I can see is that on Battle of Khylo they made a pile of boxes indestructible.

This Pvp is hopeless. Consturctive feedback coming: remove it. Matchmaking is the worst I have ever seen, teammates are braindead monkeys, soloque is not designed for conquest, and the only gamemode is conquest.

I knew they had to have a Pvp option because this is an MMO, but this is becoming pathetic.

We had tons of gamemodes in GW1, I hope they will take some from there before starting to copy other formats.

Infact, I am an ex-wow player, but are you saying GW2 pvpers do not want arena type of pvp ? That’s what I understood from you.

If you are writing the wow formats I know you can’t imagine better gamemodes, which gw1 had a great variety of.

Indeed, we need a deathmatch, but not a 2v2 3v3.

4v4 or 5v5 with some secondary objective maybe.

It would took only 3-4 months to save this PvP.

My suggestions:

1st step: add guild rating to Team Arena. So we have a GvG. Organized “e-sport” tournaments are already about guilds, so I can’t see the problem. And we can have 5 guilds. Perfect.

2nd step: make an unrated conquest format for practice/solo/experimenting.

3rd step: make Solo Arena a deathmatch. You would have to develop only 2-3 small maps at start and maybe disable elite skills, or only allow the ones with 90 sec cd or less.

4th step: replace hotjoin with a tournament that has multiple not neccessarily big maps, with different objectives and goals, and make it a progressive tournament, so 1 win takes you to the next map. The last map is global, only 1 match is going on at a time. Yes. The Heroes’ Ascent version of GW2, with the exception that the format is still 5, and you can join solo. No ratings.

5th step: observer mode for top rated conquest battles and last map of this hotjoin replacement. Hunting for twitch replays or authorized shoutcasters who I’ve never seen anywhere? Not effective and nobody likes this.
You could still keep shoutcasters, make the observer mode have a 10 min delay, and shoutcasters only 1, and shoutcasters could still stream their own organized tournaments. I see no boulders.

I didn’t add templates and rewards, because those are at the work.

I understand that ArenaNet didn’t want to split the community, but it translates to ‘no content to keep you playing’. If you want to keep and increase your PvP base, give them something to play. Most of the PvPers already left, and it’s been only 1 year of conquest. Where will this lead in 2-3 years?

it’s pointless. Matchmaking sucks, there are tons of leavers and afk players, if you have a good rating the system will add you some r10 teammates so you can face a full team of r50s.

Removing rating wouldn’t change much, at last people wouldn’t get mad for losing rating because of some noobs they can’t carry.

Make solo arena a deathmatch. Short, lesser suffering, more fun, new gamemode.

Yeah, every weekend had a different bonus: for example, on one weeken, you got double rank points from one type of PvP, next week unique drops from PvE mobs, then another doubled PvP boost from another game type and so on. Every weekend was different.

I tell you what drama is. When you are in the final map of a 10-consecutive maps single-elimination global tournament winstreak, along with 2 other teams, you are currently the bests of bests, and at the start, the other 2 teams ignore every kind of goal on the map but start killing off each other because of pure hatred between them.

All this happening in an in-game observer mode that anyone can see.

If you surveyed a different guild you’d get different results, for example based on chat in my guild:

“over 95% of guildies simply delete the tokens and ignore the whole patch, because as usual it offers zero way for WvW players to get involved and requires vastly too much time away from defending our server (and providing those buffs) to bother with.”

So you delete the tokens you have because taking it to the sanctum (roughly 2 mins) takes too much time for you.

The thing is I respect what you did btw, because you didn’t randomly influence the vote with just sympathy reasons if the change won’t affect you anyway.

The reactor explosion is in the past too but it’s effects are still active and can be seen in the game.

These are not normal fractals! Anet made them the center of the Living Story line. So both must be likely to have some effect on the Mists or open world outside the fractal.

You are playing on a world that would be entirely different if the fall of abaddon never happens.
