Fear The Crazy [Huns]
You still miss WoW, don’t you?
Maps are too small for mounts, and then we have waypoints, you would spend like 10 seconds on your mount at a time. Just totally pointless.
Besides, there’s 0 lore of mounts, there would be a guy telling: “dude, let’s invent horses!” ? Why? There are asura gates and waypoints.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
He is a hero. A real legend.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Totally agree. It’s like WvW guys deciding which will be the next tPvP map.
We should get both fractals to be fair, or only be able to vte for the order which they make first.
It’s likely that Kiel will win because of nonsense reasons (simple simpathy, boobs, Wp costs). I don’t like to play that another asura fractal with the feeling ‘I could be fighting a god right now’.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
1v1 would be fun, mostly if it takes place in an arena.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
So 1vs1 isn’t one players verus one player? It’s just like Random Arena in Guild Wars 2? And pug vs pug, not like today, where you can get a guild to fight?
Yes, solo arena is the RA of GW2.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Probably for like 800 gems in the gemstore.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Btw a real gladiator 1v1 PvP arena would be just awesome
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Same as 5v5 conquest, but now it’s split into a premade tournament (Team Arena), and a tournament where everyone joined alone (Solo Arena).
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Allie, the problem with asuras aren’t the particle effects, but the moves. You often have to read spells from the way characters lift their hands or how they swing their sword – nearly impossible to read on an asura.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
There’s already a bank tab for minipets. No, they won’t copy WoW, and if you try to suggest something while clearly naming the other game you take the system from, you better not even comment.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Also, that charr seems to be Rox (and in the full image you can also see Braham by her side), so i think she represents the F&F arc more than the charr as a race. Would have been fun to see some more depth in the human and charr treaty though.
Y, I’d like to see a story arc btw that focuses on the treaty with a united assault to an unknown, possibly flame legion terriotry – Drascir, to reclaim it for the humans.
This would bring so many possibilities, like a rebirth of Ascalon, separatists/renegades, the tombs of Drascir (with a portal to the mists), and so on.
Would make sense for both sides, because it is near to the Flame Legion territory, they could launch further assaults against the common enemy, while forging a long-lasting alliance.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
1. There’s a asura narrating the fractals. If we get the reactor, she will just freak out like in the uncategorized fratcal, and won’t believe what she is seeing. It’s a fractal, maybe it’s entirely different than what reality was.
2. I’d like to see the egoistic asura race witness what real power is.
3. Fall of Abaddon.. can only be epic.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Just don’t add the pony bow to PvP. just don’t. Oh please don’t. Or let us turn off the projectile effect.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Glad to hear, you are making some serious progress!
Next step: remove hotjoin, either replace it with unrated tournaments or just.. remove it. Would drive more people toward tournaments and would be a ways better method of learning the game. Because hotjoin is the most effective mode to rank up but will only teach you the complete opposite of what should you do.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]

We got too much technology and too few magic in the game.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Totally pointless. Isn’t that the shiningblade’s duty?
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
1v1 Ascalonians wtfpwn Charr. Charr strength was in their numbers, not fighting prowess.
Read Sea of Sorrows or Ghosts of Ascalon where it’s outright stated that one charr is worth the fighting strength of seven humans (roughly on my memory). The charr strength wasn’t just in their numbers, but their fighting prowess too.
Still, if you read the Rise of Ebonhawke or played GW1, the Ascalonians maaged to deal with the charrs pretty well even in 1v1. There’s a thing called cunning.
Maybe if a charr would hit you, it would hurt seven times more than compared to a human’s, but that doesn’t mean a charrs are also easier to hit, humans are smaller targets who are usually highly plated.
I don’t tell it’s a fair fight, but it is clear that who knows how to fight a charr, can defeat one with ease.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
@SpeedFiend : Sorry, but you know how to read and interpret? Because I really hate to explain a couple of times with shiny stars what I mean to say, when its too obivous.
Abaddon = Precursor of Gw1 Lore = Gods lore.
If you look at the map of the world, not just Tyria continent. Well, half of that was caused by Abaddon. So it’s pretty much Gw2 lore too.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Oh hey Jon, take my suggestion, Warriors with a Trident + Net weapon combo would be sick. See Spartacus, or Gladiator.
Just a thought, justtttt a thought.
We definitely need spear back as a ground weapon!
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
And why exactly people can’t just go and play Gw1 to get this lore? Its what I’m already doing.
And I don’t want to get twice the same lore, I mean.. is worthless.
We have the right to choose for a new content, something that bring new lights. Don’t try to convince me to vote in you because you want to relife abaddon lore.
Because this takes place 1070 years before Gw1…
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
While I am an Evon supporter, I will try my best and stay objective.
I’ve been thinking about a vote like this for years, and I was extremely happy when Arenanet announced the update. I think this is a great way. However, some things need to be imporved about it.
In the early stage, I can tell the following:
1. People often watch the thing that affects them directly and always: this time, it’s the temporary content. Kiel has an advantage here because of the WPs.
The thing is, I’ve seen lots of people who don’t even know the full list what the candidates offer or don’t know what’s temporary and what’s permanent.
I know we got this in mail, but there should be a message each time you log in that tells you the informations, until you’ve made your 1st vote.
2. People decide about something they personally don’t do. I’ve ecountered lots of people who go for Kiel only because they don’t play fractals at all. Ofc, Evon’s trump card is the fractal, without that even i would go for Kiel.
Suggestion:
People should be able to decide about who gets elected, and the temporary content that everyone experiences – like waypoints and black lion keys. If we will ever have another election at some pont, we need a lot more temporary boosts and discounts. (yes, people want more permanent content, and they are right, but not at this cost)
If we can decide about the permanent content, it should be about the priority list only – so in this case, which fractal will we get 1st, not which fractal we will have at all.
The main idea is great, but it’s just bad that people that won’t play the permanent content can highly influence its outcome. Both fractals are interesting, but to scrap one of them is a bad idea, mostly if those decide who won’t play what they voted for.
If I would have to guess by my experiences, 50% of the kiel base votes for the WP, 40% for the fractal and 10% because they just like her more, while 90% of the Evon supporters vote for his fractal, not him. So basically, more people want the Abaddon fractal, but probably more people want Kiel for council. And this will be a pretty big issues after the vote.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
About this insulting stuff, this is, without offending anyone, because Evon supporters are either GW1 veterans who were waiting for a chance for the Abaddon fractal for many years and can’t stand if newcomers destroy this never returning chance, or because Kiel supporters vote for completely nonsense reasons.
Evon supoorters vote for interesting permanent content.
Kiel supporters vote because "yay she’s cute" / “omg dude cheaper wps (they don’t even know that it’s temporary and expect it to be like 90%)”The 2 aren’t on the same scale. Gnashblade supporters can see the real reasons and blind or ignorant people just make us rage, mostly if we lose this chance to these nonsense reasons.
Man, I never thought I’d say this, but I agree with you Gandarel. Hard times man, hard times.
Yeah, and I am supporting a charr..
Desperate times call for desperate decisions.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
If it would depend on Konig, we would never see them.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
If it is anything remarkable, they might turn it into an every 10 levels boss fractal, with a special loot table. That’s as good as you’re going to get in the best of circumstances.
That’s a great idea btw. Or make it replace every 5th fractal lvl.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Why would ANET rig the election? They are the ones trying to collect data which character we want to see in the future.
It’s more about which fractal do we want to see in the future. Or are we so shallow that a WP discount can mesmerized us.
Like how Abbadon mesmerized that half of the population?
Well, not having played GW1, so don’t give a butt nugget for it’s lore, and not caring about fractals, so of my 8 toons, my highest one is a Magnificent Five, and not into buying lottery tickets….. guess WP is the only factor that matters.
Hmm. if i mail you 10 silvers (which is I think more than what you can save from WP discount), will you vote for Evon?
Considering I spend multiple time that in a single session. A single jump from one side of Tyria to the other being near 5 silver? Nope
Strawman argument is made of straw. Will save far kitten more then 10 silver over a month. Ppl making that specious argument are being deliberately obtuse. Just as they are by saying if they care about WP thye must be poor, or as a prev post said, have only 20s.
You think the discount is 100% and waypoints will be free? If the discount is 5-10%, that’s in most of the cases 10-20 copper for you in 1 travel. K, i give 15 silver! >_>
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Terrahero, a troll is who starts random arguements just to annoy people ad make chatwar for hi own joy, while I’m just a determined supporter of the fractal :P
Anyways thanks for your opinion and kind-of-support thing.
Btw people, get creative, maybe they make it as long as 2 fractals and either give bonus reward or count it as if 2 fractals were completed. Get creative. Ofc, unlikely tohappen, but still.
Or just make it fast paced, a blitzkrieg to end this threat fast.

Go chill out at CoE or the Uncategorized fractal and enjoy your asura dungeons YOU ALREADY HAVE.
The same could be said about Abaddon. He had an entire campaign for himself, and he was the puppet master behind the villains in the story prior. If you miss him that much, you can always go back to gw1 and enjoy what “YOU ALREADY HAVE”.
:)
This brings in totally different landscape and many many things that gw2 doesn’t have. On the other side, the reactor would be just a re-skin with mobs we already have about an experiment we already experienced.

The fractal is a permanent addition which should drive your vote, not the temporary 4 week reduced wp costs (probably 10%).
What drives my vote is the FREE temporary content that I get rather than the temporary content I HAVE TO PAY FOR to experience. Not only that, I have absolutely no clue wtf happened at the reactor. I would like to see what happened.
Inquest happened. Same experiment like in CoE but they failed and that’s all.
It’s what the inquest was researching. Elder Dragons, that lead to the explosion that created the chaos rift and magic itself.
So dragons are so exciting you want a CoE 2.0? Guess you never played Gw1 and don’t know what real lore is.

Random spawning mobs and fighting inquest is so kitten unique and interesting, we have never did that before..
WP reducing is not content, it’s just being cheaper for 4 weeks. Where will be your discount 4 years later?

Quite the speculation. Keep in mind, however, that no one would have magic – not in its current form at least. So Ascalonians would get wtfpwned because they’re just going strength vs. strength – they were able to hold back thanks to magikittenil the charr got better magic, but without being able to hold out thanks to magic, the charr would just wtfpwn them.
Mursaat would have returned regardless and slaughtered all the magicless humans with their own Spectral Agony since it wasn’t taken in the Bloodstone. Bye bye Kryta.
Zhaitan would have risen regardless, wiping out most of the humans there and devouring the gods if they remained – if not, then humans would have no means of defense and get wiped out anyways, just no tidal wave caused by a rising of the land.
Cantha – Canthans would have gotten their kitten handed to them by the tengu because they’re idiots who encroached on tengu territory and sparked a war, without the population increase caused by refugees from the Jade Wind incident, the empire’s population would be too low to build up a large enough army to do that. Luxons and Kurzicks would keep beating each other up in the meantime.
Elona – Joko never existed in the first place as a lich, and no Varesh-gone mad. So they’re the only human bastion left when the Elder Dragons rise. The Margonites still roam the Crystal Sea, and are the main human fighting force against Zhaitan and Kralkatorrik.
Not quite what you imagine, eh Gandarel?
Did you really have to create another thread on this? If folks who never played GW1 want to know about Abaddon, we have the Temple of the Forgotten God to spark interest. And the mention of the Fall of Abaddon would spark some interest to, and they’d go to the wikis and read the lore. The fractal will not be giving as much lore as you think it will. I can promise that.
It’s interesting how you call my points speculation while yours is real nonsese.
You are a traitor to GW1 and lore Go chill out at CoE or the Uncategorized fractal and enjoy your asura dungeons YOU ALREADY HAVE.
Zhaitan got defeated by a mega-laser.. I don’t think he could beat a god face to face. When Zhaitan died, he just fell down. When Abaddon, who was already defeated and a bit powerless, imprisoned in the realm of torment, was killed, his unleashed power was so strong that it could have destroyed 2 worlds.
Canthan military could be still ways larger than the Tengu, if we look at the territory itself.
Also I don’t think that the world would have no magic, maybe just a bit less to keep it under control better in the first place.
The charrs without a Khan-Ur agains the humans and their gods would have faced total defeat on the long run if the gods have stayed, and without the titans, the searing couldn’t have happened, nor the invasion, nor the alliance of the legions.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Humans prosper in Kryta, Orr and Ascalon, charr legions did never unite, they either got extinct by inner war + the push of Ascalonians, or lost even more ground.
(maybe)Gods still reside in Arah. When Zhaitan rises, Orr prevails, and the gods have a fight with him.
Cantha – Kaineng isn’t the ghetto it is now, the Jade Sea is really a sea, te Echowald forest isn’t from stone.
Elona: Palawa Joko never got released, and Korna, Istan and Vabbi still stand.
New players would need to know more about the important parts of the lore, and Abaddon is the most important.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
People don’t seem to realize that the fractal is only going to be cool the first time playing through it. In the end, it is all going to boil down to, which can be completed in the quickest amount of time. Everyone is still going to roll swamp first and hope the following two are just as quick. Who knows, if Anet came out and said that their goals are to make the Abbadon fractal the current length and time as the Dredge fractal and the TR fractal the length of the swamp fractal (or vice verse), I guarantee most of these arguments would not be taking place.
I don’t care. i want to witness the fight and know more about it so lore and history can expand.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Evon is the obvious no brainer choice.
Not sure what’s making people vote Kiel, when a reactor explosion is not nearly as cool (or important) as is the rendering of Abaddon in GW2.
If it wasn’t for Abaddon, most of the big events in GW1 would have not even happened.
Which, might I remind, those events make up what GW2 is in many ways.A reactor explosion that changed the very fabric of Tyria…. you know… the very thing that make up what Gw2 is….
#IStandWithEllen
Very fabric of the world :o Random mobs spawning from random portals at a small room :o fabric of the world :o
A god losing a battle at the gates of heaven falling down with such devastation that turns a sea to desert and makes the desolation that poisonous sulfur wasteland that it is now, later reshaping half of the Canthan continent and almost unleashing the Nightfall.. idk.. yeah, that reactor explosion has so much ties to thelore and makes up what GW2 is.
Without Abaddon, I tell you what GW2 is: humans prosper in Kryta, Orr and Ascalon, charr legions did never unite, they either got extinct by inner war + the push of Ascalonians, or lost even more ground.
(maybe)Gods still reside in Arah. When Zhaitan rises, Orr previals, and the gods have a fight with him.
Cantha – Kaineng isn’t the ghetto it is now, the Jade Sea is really a sea, te Echowald forest isn’t from stone.
Elona: palawa joko nevergot released, and Korna, Istan and vabbi still stand.

Yes, always doing good, being strict follower of laws and investing time and resources to return treasure to its former owners is totally what a pirate captain needs to do.. this holds so many intresting possibilites for future content.
Kiel fits as a minister in Divinity, but not as a councillor in LA.

Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Pretty much what you will have if she wins. We already have 2 asura lab/city dungeons, but you still need a 3rd? In 1 year?
We got nothing from the gods in 8 years, only an already defeated god, but not the other 5.
Also, we have never seen a god in his full power (we had a Dhuum who just woke up, but I’m sure he was just at 10-20% power, and we had some help)! And porbably never will if Evon loses!
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Another reason not to vote for Kiel!
Btw Divinity’s Reach wouldn’t be that easy. The Queen once managed to pull out such an illusion (as a mesmer) to be able to show the troops and ciztizens in Ebonhawke as Branded, so Kralkatorrik’s minions will retreat and leave the city.
She and Anise coul easily turn the asuras against each other, with making 50% of the asuras think the other 50% is Seraph, and do the same with the other 50% to see the first ones as Seraph. They would kill off each other. If not, their golems would for sure fall for the illusion and attack their asura masters.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
Dragons and lore in one sentence, I rofl’d.

Fear The Crazy [Huns]
The root of the necro problem is the Signet of Undeath nerf. Since its casting time is 3 sec now, up from 2, nobody brings it, making a free slot for another skill: people take more fear through Spectral Wall.
Before this nerf, necros didn’t faceroll fear on cd, staff skill #5 was something I for example didn’t use in a teamfight until someone gets downed from my team or the enemy, so I can either make a granted rally with the Signet or better chances for a stomp. – Nerfing this skill and adding more fear resulted in the complete vanish of tactical playfrom another class.
But now, having no signet results in basically 2 more fears in 40 secs. Also, the DS fear duration is doubled.
Signet of Undeath nerf is a core element in this problem. I’d say they should restore it to the pre-patch state and let’s see what happens.
Maybe increase the CD by 20 secs but not the cast time.

I don’t understand people who rage like you, OP.
Everyone asked for a spectator mode. Done. It works. Enough said.
Everyone asked for a map rotation for tournaments. Done.
Everyone wants eSports-like features and shoutcasting pushes towards that. SC2 has it. LoL has it. CoD has it. Why not GW2?
And if you think there are 4 PvP teams NA and EU, you haven’t looked hard enough.
We didn’t want to spectate hotjoin heroes, we wanted to observe the most rated tournaments in an observer menu with a 5-10 mins delay.
We wanted to observe these tournaments as we want from the PoV we want, not hunting for shoutcasters on twitch and occassionally get lucky, just to never be able to see the part of the action you are intrested in. – If I want to learn how to play a good roamer engi, I don’t want to watch the bunker guard and midfight all the time.
Nobody, but nobody was asking for e-sport features, just some things that GW1 already had or from what the community as a whole could benefit.
Edit: basically, shoutcasters could stream the fan-made tournaments in custom arenas, and the community could have the simple on-going rated highrated tournament battles in an observer mode So both sides, the shoutcasters and the community too would have what they want.

In a video maybe 1 year ago, they statd that Pvp is in developement since the beginning, so roughly 5 years.
I think PvP had almost 0 resources and probably the PvP devs could do a ways better job.
They picked a goal, and that goal is e-sports, but haven’t got the resources for the 5-6 steps leading to the goal.
Like gamemodes, reward system, observer mode, LFg tool, templates.
