Strange, I play for hours at a time on NA (prime time) and never experience any lag. I really doubt that’s the issue. Run pingplotter and let that tell you where the problem is.
Glad you found them.
It is more than likely an issue in one of the nodes between your router and the game servers. If it was a server problem every single player would have issues not just some. Run pingplotter or traceroute to determine where the issue actually is.
Also posting what server you are on (NA or EU) and at least what country you are in would help others. I’m on NA and in the US and have no connection issues at all.
A good place to start is to run pingplotter when you are having the bouts of lag. It will show you exactly where the problem is, which in turn will direct you to who you need to discuss the issue with. Type “/IP” (without quotes in the chat window to get the IP of the map you are in. Enter that as the target in pingplotter and then look at the results.
As a side note, if the lag isn’t affecting every player in the game, then its not going to be Anet’s issue.
Sinister wasn’t removed, I run them on 3 of my char’s. My suggestion is to check every bank tab, character bag and so forth. They are there somewhere.
All unlimited tools can be moved from character to character whenever you want.
Another note is that the Pre crafting was never sold/intended as a cheaper/quicker way of getting them. It is simply an alternate way. You as the player has the choice of which method to do.
Most of you know what I’m talking about. When you jump down into the lower Tarir area and the game lags so much that your glider fails and you splat. This seems to happen regardless of crowds.
Not game breaking, but it would be an appreciated fix.
Being that this only happens to some people, what do you propose be fixed? I have never had it happen nor hear of it from any of my guildies.
I have mapped all the new zones on at least 8 or 9 different characters. I pretty much had them memorized after the 2nd one. They are though the 1st time, that’s part of why it’s called exploration. There is nothing wrong with the new maps, they were very well designed.
Run ping plotter when you are having the issues. It is the only way to determine where the problem is. One of the nodes your connection passes through may be the issue. If it is, then it is outside of Anet’s control.
mm maybe you re right but there is packet loss in their side.
Your packet loss begins long before the Anet server, Those 100’s in the PL column are the cause.
I have the same problem , any solution?
Yes there is. Run pingplotter and determine where the problem is. Once you know where then you will know who to contact.
Just because you have to many and don’t want them doesn’t mean they are junk to other players.
It sounds like your problem not mine.
The only “idea” I have is that Anet screwed up somewhere and they need to fix it.
Or, more than likely, one of the nodes you connection goes through is having problems. Run pingplotter and it will tell you where the problem is.
The last few pages are all about a small group of people complaining about disconnects from up to 4 months ago. What people fail to understand is that if it was server related it would happen to “everybody”. It is only happening to random people at random times. There are probably 1000’s of people who have been playing this game for 4+ years that only have experienced a handful of disconnects.
Pinging a IP through the CMD line shows nothing. If a node is down somewhere in between the result would be the same. When you or anyone else is experiencing lag or disconnects run ping plotter to a map that you are currently in. Testing to a closed map will show errors as it is closed and that IP now longer exists.
Your connection to the Anet server is not a point “A” to point “B” connection. Its more like A-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-B.
All those little x’s are nodes between your router and the Anet server. Your problem could be at any one of the x’s. The pings you did to google and the random IP all take different routes. Next time you have the issues run pingplotter, it will show you exactly where the issues is and help you identify who owns that node.
That’s not a bug, it is the way it is intended to work. Reducing model limit improves performance.
32 people active in the guild and one has to pay every two months for a free to play game. Sounds fair to me. (sarcastic)
My question is how are the other 31 guild members moving servers without paying? Any server move costs gems, the tier only determines how much.
That is correct. They all moved while I was away from the game. During the time they moved the server was T2 or T3. When I got back they were already T1 and a full server.
So are you complaining about having to pay every 2 months or that it is full? Neither one sounds like Anet’s fault or problem, just wait till they hop servers again and join them at that time. If the guild is that “Good” why don’t they stay put on a T1 server and compete against players/guilds of equal skill? Or are they only that ’Good" against T2 or T3 servers?

Did you actually open the chests? The MP is awarded after you open them.
For there to be a bug no one would have gotten an item. As soon as 1 person gets that said item, it proves there is no bug. There is no account based RNG, everyone who opens a chest has the same chance of getting whats on the loot table for that chest.
The data from KING is just that data, you cant expect to get anything at any questimated rate. You could open a million of them and still not get anything.
1 in 1,000 is the same as 1,000 in 1,000,000. You could open 998,000 and get nothing.
RNG rolls every time you open a single box. You have exactly the same chance each time.

Another issue would be the thousand posts of, “I got XXXX as a drop and now its gone, Anet fix your game!!!!”
I was hoping to get some less salt opinions from people by posting in this forum, but maybe I should’ve just gone to reddit. I guess wanting to talk to people in an MMO is taboo now.
Thanks anyways.
There was no salt in my response. I could tell you how great the thief, PvP and WvW are, but that’s my opinion. What I like about them you might not. You will get a multitude of different responses, why not just try it yourself.
You already own the game, why not log in and find out for yourself. Everyone’s ones opinion is just that, their opinion. You can also try reading the forum sections for those areas you are questioning.
Download and run pingplotter, it will show you where the problem is and then contact your ISP and provide that information to them.
Run ping plotter and determine where the issue is. Odds are there is nothing for them to fix. Next time please try and provide a little less information.
The easy way to fix it is, if you are going to be afk then move your character to a safe spot on the map (near main entry way points) and don’t afk farm. If you want loot and XP then actively play the game. Simple problem solved, no need for 5 pages of forum and GM involvement. Since launch people have always tried to skirt the edge between legal and illegal ways of doing things.
AFK for a bathroom break or a drink takes a few minutes, phone calls a little longer sometimes. If you are reported or observed by a GM they probably have the ability to see how long you have been there.
Everyone’s opinion differs, the only way to know for sure is to just play it for yourself.
It appears that the biggest problem is at this point.
baires3.bai.seabone.net
It is not owned, operated nor has anything to do with Anet. Your best bet is the contact your ISP and give them that information.
Getting unplayable lag right now in GW2. Was fine for like 6 hours, then suddenly unplayable.
Meanwhile I have 0 packet loss on TS and I’m able to play other video games with sub 50 ping.
Run ping plotter and find out where the problem is.
Roll your video card driver back to the Feb 15 version. There is an issue with the current drivers that affect some people.
Hate to be the one to break the bad news to you, but it’s not Anet. If the problem was Anet it would be affecting “EVERY” player, not just some. Run ping plotter and it will show you where the problem is. You can then provide this to your ISP and they can assist you in trying to get it fixed.
There is an issue with one of the recent Nvidia updates that has caused some problems for people. I think the majority of the issues have been on laptops, but there have been some desktop issues as well. Try rolling back your driver to the one released on Feb 15. It has fixed the issue for some.
Other than that try posting the crash log.
Craft them on a tailor, leather or armor smith. Or, buy them from the trading post. You can also buy 20-slot bags from the fractal vendor for relics.
Let’s put all these posts to rest. Anet please add a “I want it all button” to the character creation screen. Just one click and you have everything the game has to offer. Wait, never mind, someone will still find something else.
In EU yesterday i had a ping spike of 2090 (my highest ever, that I could see in F11 window). It was so bad, my game froze 2 minutes, then unfroze. When all ppl died in fractals, there was no respawn window. When everybody ragequit (leaving me alone in the frac), the window finally came. Meanwhile i tested youtube, twitch, absolutely no delays in them. Gw2 forums also had high ping.
Testing Youtube, Twitch, speed test or anything does no good. All of those servers are in different locations. Your issues are in the connection between your PC and the Anet server. As stated many times before run “Pingplotter” its free. This will tell you where the problem is and also identify who the owner of the problem is.
They should just let customers sell them in the TP..
Nope, ascended does not need to be tradable.
If having OP builds is that important to you then buy HoT. There problem solved.
I would be happy with a single Spirit Shard once all mastery’s in a zone are complete.
Why did you crash or disconnect? That is the more important question. If it was a crash, post the crash report so we can try to help you fix it.
For anyone to help you, we need to know why? Look at or post the crash log. The biggest reason is that the new maps require more system resources due to their complexity. Try running the 64-bit client (if your on a 64-bit version of windows). The most likely cause is a OOM (out of memory) error.
You don’t need drops to craft ascended. Farm wood and ore, salvage all green & blue armor for cloth and leather. that’s all you need.
Farm the materials and craft the one a day items and soon you will have ascended armor. Buy your amulets and accessories with laurels or do the story achievements. Start running fractals to get your rings. Fractal 1-19 doesn’t require any AR. If your not interested in running raids then the only reason to need ascended armor is for high level fractals.
I say NO to both. It takes zero effort to obtain laurels. If you want the shards or ascended armor then work for it like everyone else that has.
It takes 0 effort to pay for raid carries as well.
If someone chooses to buy their way through the raids that’s on them at least they were in the raid. The gold they use to pay for it is either farmed (earned) or from gems with real cash. Laurels are from simply logging in.
I say NO to both. It takes zero effort to obtain laurels. If you want the shards or ascended armor then work for it like everyone else that has.
Could you post your crash log?
You can find it here
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2\ArenaNet.logWhy?? R U going to examine it and fix it? LOL
Lol, the issue isn’t the game. If the OP wants a chance at fixing the problem then we need to know why. There are several reasons why they might be crashing and that’s the best way to figure it out.
You have at least an hour before you are forced to update. Wait and update after Teq. If the map was full or not wouldn’t make a difference when you tried to rejoin. Once you update you are running a different version than they are. You will never get back to the same map.
You will need to provide the details of the crash report for anyone here to help you. It does happen to other people but the majority of the time it is a internet connection issue between your modem and the servers. You can run ping plotter and see if any issues show up. It could also be an “OOM” error, which is an out-of-memory error. Are you running the 64-bit or 32-bit launcher for the game? Is your pc a MAC or what version of windows are you running?
If you already completed Nevermore, there shouldn’t be any reason to keep the items.
