I don’t know all the circumstances but since he disputed the charges, you have gems that Anet won’t receive the money for, hence the ban. You didn’t give the reason for the dispute and it’s not really any of our business knowing. Maybe he isn’t really a good friend, maybe he took your money and ran. We can’t help you here and the best way to get help would be to file a support ticket.

It doesn’t matter why I created the guild, so that has no relevance, I may and probably will recruit members at some point. The point being is that even though I know the requirements and restrictions to new guild members, there is nothing that warns a new guild creator that he can not even access his own guild bank for 72 hours. I’m not crying over it and have no intentions of looking for any refunds. I am just wondering if it is a bug and that maybe a note needs to be added to the guild creation screen to let people know not to waste influence on certain thing that are pointless.

I created a new guild and spent the gold to buy influence and speed up the build times so that I could have extra storage space for myself. As the creator and owner of that new guild I still have to wait 72 hours to use it. Why is that? I wasted the gold and influence to speed up the build times when I couldn’t access it anyway.

I understand the change that made the guild bank inaccessible to new members for 72 hours and I agree with it, but why does it apply to the person who created it when they are the only member?

You might be on to something here. How about adding a pin feature to both banks (personal and guild). This would be another safeguard against hackers. The “Pin:” would be account based and every time you access either bank a quick dialogue box opens and you type in your pin. This would apply to any method of bank access (crafting station, bank access express, etc…..).

What good would it do to hack an account if you couldn’t access the accounts bank? It would also protect the guild bank.

Oh, I completely agree with you. It’s just this, now added to the other cosmetic noise makers, I think we need a way to mute the sounds of those players who choose to purposely annoy us.

I have wondered about this as well. The same thing happens with the choir bell. I think a simple fix would be that when you add someone to your blocked list it also mutes any sounds their character produces. I have had people stand at crafting stations and the lions arch bank and just continuously ring the bell at the highest note. Then when they are politely asked to stop they respond with “If you don’t like it, go somewhere else”.

There was also a character that sat at the lions arch bank for hours at a time throwing roses. This went on for days at a time. I just reported them for spamming and botting. They had to have macros set up to keep throwing roses for hours.

There are no recipes for them or the weapons. The inscriptions/insignias used to make them were a random reward drop during the Flame & Frost Dungeon event. The rarity of the inscriptions/insignias are what is driving the cost. At last check, the insignia’s were sitting around 10g and the inscriptions were around 5g.

I am assuming that the 80% you are referencing is the “80% chance for rarer material”. This has nothing to do with the return of ecto’s. The 80% applies to the metal, cloth, leather or wood that is used to craft the item you are salvaging.

You have a 80% chance of getting gossamer instead of silk, or ancient wood instead of elder wood.

Ecto’s have a flat rate of 0-3 for rare and exotic items level 68 or greater. Some say on average you get more ecto’s with better salvage kits.

Question about Ascended Gear

You are kind of right, for a single ascended ring. Now add a second ring, two accessories , an amulet and a back piece. 2% more crit damage quickly becomes 17%. So yeah a single one isn’t really that much, but full ascended gear makes a difference.

Here are the totals for berserker trinkets, exotic vs. ascended:

Exotic:
+508 power
+346 precision
+36% crit damage

Ascended:
+570 power
+376 Precision
+53% crit damage

It’s not a huge difference but it will make a difference.

Check Cursed Shore, Plains of Ashford, Straights of Devistation and Brisbane. They have all had waypoints added to them.

I have been unlucky in this game from day one. Over this past weekend I needed (2) uses of the mystic forge to complete my daily. I bought (8) exotic daggers and threw them in the forge. On the second pull I got “Spark”. I was extremely shocked. Last week I threw (4) random rares in the forge and got “Venom”. Over the last several months a guild mate of mine as throw hundreds of rares and exotic in the forge and gotten nothing. I’m not trying to brag, but instead trying to show that RNG is RNG. They do drop from the forge.

I have no issues with glitches and exploits being fixed, heck I don’t even care if they tell us about fixing them. However, when unnecessary changes (polishes) are made to either make it more difficult or change mechanics it should be included in the patch notes. Why do they feel like they need to hide it from us? Our group also noticed differences in the Frozen and Harpy fractals as well. Were there changes? We aren’t sure but things felt different.

In the Frozen, the ice elemental seemed to have a lot more knock back (level 8 ). I seemed to get knocked back more than I did on our last level 20 run (pre-patch). On the final boss it seemed like the AoE circles moved quicker and were more randomized.

On the Harpy, the harpies seemed a lot more aggressive with their attacks. The champion Ettin seemed to move faster. Something also felt different with Old Tom that we just couldn’t figure out. Mr. Snuggles and his crew seemed to do a little more damage.

Has anyone else run higher level fractals and noticed any changes since the patch?

They aren’t major changes (at least at this level), we had 2 rather new players in our group and we didn’t have any wipes, but they are unannounced changes.

We ran this fractal last night and they did fix the dead player on the button. It now closes the door.

Another change too we found on the bomb door was the mobs continue to spawn behind you while you are waiting on the bombs to respawn. We only did a level 8 to help some of our lower ranked guildies move up and at several times there were massive mobs.

Another stealth change.

Another note to consider, the zoom/camera view is a part of the developed aspect of the game. Anything that allows you to zoom or have camera angles that others do not, would be an unfair advantage. Altering the views beyond what is programed into the game would be altering the internal coding and would more than likely result in a ban.

Note: I am not a mod nor a developer, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express a few years back.

Whenever you change character the game checks if other characters have the daily reward chest and transfers it to the new one thats active. However if you delete the character the game won’t recognise it.

Next time I would advise to first get your reward.

From the GW2 Wiki: The reward chest is displayed as a pop-up in the lower-right corner of the screen; it does not need to be opened immediately and will persist through logout. However, you can only claim it on the character who earned the reward.

I think this is attributed to the fact that the amount of coin you receive with your daily is dependent on the level of your character. I know its only 5s on a level 80, but I guess Anet doesn’t want you to gain an extra silver or so by completing it on a low level then switch to a higher level to claim it.

However you can do different parts of the daily on different characters, just make sure you are on the character you want to claim it on before you complete the last task.

I was having the same issue several weeks ago as well. I have multiple gaming computers and upon starting to swap out hardware to pinpoint the issue, I noticed a fair amount of built up dust. Dust can slow down your cooling fans and clog your heat sinks. It is possible that your system is starting to over heat and is shutting down to prevent damage. I pulled everything out including the psu, ram, video cards and cpu. Thoroughly cleaned them and reseated everything and the issue fixed itself.

I think you are confusing crit chance with crit damage. An exotic dagger has +5% crit damage per dagger, which is being accounted for correctly in your stats. You crit chance is calculated by the how much precision you have. Each dagger is +64 precision so the 3% and 6% increase you are seeing is correct.

There are several scattered posts on this but I can’t find any comment by Anet. If the party wipes it is almost impossible to finish. Simple enough, if the party wipes the Chanters and everything else should reset.

That might have been the decoy chest. The main chest only has a single Veteran Cave Troll that you have to defeat. Take a look the the wiki or google the puzzle, it may help you a little more.

Are you talking about the main event chest or the side chest for the daily completion of the event? I’m not sure of the exact level, but I think you have to be at least level 40 to receive the side chest (because rare equipment doesn’t start till level 40). Is your character at least that level?

There is a decoy chest in that puzzle. If you open it you will lose the rewards from the main chest. Is it possible that you stopped at that first chest and didn’t actually finish the puzzle?

Now change the recipe for Legendary’s to require any combination of (2) of these gifts. You can use (1) of each of (2) of the same. At the same time reduce the award for PvE map completion to (1) “Gift of Exploration”.

This will effectively eliminate any PvE’er from being required to do WvW and vice versa.

No one wants this, To get a Legendary you should be required to be a “master” at all parts of the game excluding sPvP and tPvP. Because you need a Gift of Battle from WvW and a Gift of Exploration, Gift of Exploration should be PvE only. That way you need a Gift from PvE Exploration, from WvW Battles, and Gifts from Dungeons.

I know the OP stated that this isn’t about Legendary weapons, but unfortunately the issue of awarding map completion involves a part of the Legendary requirement. This solution addresses both issues.

Add a title for WvW map completion and one for PvE completion. The title for “Been There Done That” can remain as a reward for completing both PvE and WvW and the reward for this is the “Gift of Exploration”.

If you take a look at the waypoint where the small jumping puzzle is, in Southsun. You will see several golems building an asura gate. I have never noticed that before, maybe it has something to do with the upcoming story.

For the past living-world events, the majority of the events took place in the 1-15 zones so that all players could participate. My guess would be that players will be leveled up since Southsun is a level 80 zone. If they didn’t, then a lot of players would not be able to take part in it. Only makes sense.

I agree, the EB jumping puzzle is one of the most fun and challenging ones out there. Is there a way to keep it where it is, and just have the people within the puzzle not counted as part of the map population? If the maps fill up while they are in there then they will have to be added to the queue to re-enter EB. Can it be made it’s own zone?

How does one plan taking items out of a guild bank?

“Okay, here is the plan. I will smack that Moa over there with my sword and cause a distraction. When you see the big Char leave the vault door, run inside. I left the vault key under the door mat for you. Once you take everything out, my fee for developing this plan is 60% of the take. Ascended rings/accessories are considered “Unique” which means only 1 can be worn at a time. Each ring/accessory has a matching partner that has a different name, they each have the same stats, but one allows for an offensive and the other allows for a defensive infusion. The only way to wear (2) would be to infuse one of them in the mystic forge, which essentially makes them two different rings.

Ascended gear and the “Unique” description are explained in the wiki and in various posts here in the forums. Unfortunately, purchasing 2 of the same is considered a user error and there is currently no way for Anet to provided a refund.

I only scanned through a few of the posts, but here is my thought. What it sounds like to me is the only people that dislike running MF in groups are the ones that only think zerker warriors and mesmers should be allowed in dungeon speed runs. My opinion is do the speed runs the way you want too. For those of you who wish to run MF gear in dungeons and fractals, find yourself a guild that doesn’t care if the run takes 4 minutes or 15 minutes. Our guild runs fractals and dungeons daily and some of us alternate what classes we bring just to freshen it up. To us, what matters is finishing the dungeon or fractal, not how long it takes.

If you are going to run a pug group through dungeons/fractals and just want to have fun, then start your own group and advertise all classes/stats welcome. Heck, have fun with it and say no zerk warriors welcome. If you don’t want to skip content then advertise that as well. Despite what the posts in this topic say, you can play the game how you want to play it.

New Idea for Dungeon's

Here is a thought, how about a new permanent dungeon like this.

Lets start with:
1. No set path, only a set objective. You must explore the entire dungeon until you find the objective and complete it. The objective could be a fight, puzzle, or scavenger hunt.

2. Completion of the 1st objective opens the next one. You may have to now back track where you have already been in order to locate the objective. Again this may be a fight, puzzle or scavenger hunt.

This can be repeated multiple times, but the number of times corresponds to the level, and we can use a progressive leveling system like the fractals have. Then as every other dungeon there is a final boss fight and the actual boss could be random or vary depending on the level. There would also be various mobs/enemies in random locations throughout the dungeon.

Here is the catch, although the objectives are the same every run, the location for the objective and the order of the objectives are randomized as well as the final boss fight.

REWARDS:
I feel that there are currently enough currencies in the game and suggest that a new one is not introduced. We know that the existing dungeon tokens wouldn’t be appropriate, so lets go with laurels. Each objective could reward a single laurel as well as a chest. Then of course you would have the final boss chest.

There could be smaller hidden chests scattered amongst randomized locations that are hidden behind a destroyable wall or under a boulder/rock.

Due to the randomness of everything as well as random defined objectives at each stage it would keep it enjoyable for quite sometime. There would be no skipping of anything because you wouldn’t know if the mob you just ran through was the trigger for the next objective.

Also, with everything being random, new content (objectives, areas, bosses etc…) could be added with the regular updates.

So what do you all think?

I just scanned through most of the posts and didn’t see anyone suggesting the use of a stability skill or trait. I have done it both on my storyline and for the achievement. I used the elite skill “rampage as one” on my ranger for stability and just ran across without regard for the wind. I’m at work so I can’t check and I also don’t recall, but I think every class has some sort of stability that can be used.

ANET, you have a great game here! Why are we being kept in the dark as to what has happened over the last 3 nights? If you don’t know what is causing the problem, at least tell us your working on it. If you know what it is please fix it ASAP.

A group from our guild has lost our fractal progress 2 nights in a row and almost at the exact same time both nights, 9:30pm est, is our prime time. Thankfully, we only lost progression and we can do that again, we haven’t lost any items to be really concerned about.

Please just keep us informed.

I know in Cursed Shore they added a waypoint for the new guild missions. If you previously got the reward you won’t get another one for the added waypoint. I don’t recall any added points in Wayfarer.

I noticed with yesterdays small patch, that a message was posted stating “New Build Will Be Available In 60 Mins”. I thought great that gives me time to finish creating my 7th character. I get through the timely process of finding a name that isn’t already taken and proceed through the first instanced fight. Message says “45 mins to new build”. As soon as I finish the fight and the loading screen pops up, I get booted to desktop to download the patch. When it completes and I choose to log back into my new character, I have to start the whole thing over from the beginning. I know, it only took me a few minutes to run back and do the instance over, but why not set it up to let people leaving an instance finish loading back to the main map? I have had it happen after “The Battle for Claw Island” before and it’s really a pain to do that one twice in a row.

Thank you for finally adding this. Just one request though, please make the preview window bigger. Most of the larger weapons are cut off when viewed “wielded”. My charr’s left arm is also cut off when previewing.

No training is needed. Each tier of ore, wood and harvesting has a specific level of pick, axe, or sickle. You will need to be at least the level of the tool in order to use it. Each tool also provides a description of what types of node it can be used on.

I know that it costs 50s to bet the NPC on how far the cow will go. You can do this more than once, so it will cost 50s each time. However you can only win the token one time. Did you bet more than once?

Cannot claim Daily Achievement reward on alt

I’m not sure that you can complete the daily on one character then switch character’s and claim it on a different one. The amount of silver you get for the daily completion is based on the level of the character who completed it.

As for the XP, it is awarded to the character as soon as it is achieved, not when the chest is actually opened.

I would assume that you already switched back to the character that you actually completed the daily on and checked to see if the chest was still available, if not try that.

If it still doesn’t work, you can try a support ticket, but they might not be able to re-issue the chest.

These new Orrian boxes also obsidian shards and lodestones, I bought 30 and got 3 charged lodestones and 2 onyx lodestones. Yes it’s a gamble but they do contain good things.

The CoF exotic armor is purchased from the dungeon vendor’s in LA. You will get the dungeon tokens from completing paths within the dungeon. There are several dungeons and they each offer unique looks and stats. Preview each dungeon set find the stats you want and run that dungeon.

As for the non dungeon armor, you will need a 400 leather worker and you can craft them yourself. The exotics will require ecto and t6 mats (very expensive right now), gossamer and hard leather.

If you have the time to wait, I would opt for the dungeon armor. It costs you nothing but a little time each day running dungeons.

Right now I am running CoF exotic berzerker’s (pwr, prec & crit damage). You can get the same in rare or regular exotic. Very high dps. Unfortunately, very low survivability if it’s not played right. I also use long/short bow most of the time.

I have also been experimenting with short bow & sword/axe, the sword/axe deals more damage than the bows for the most part. The down side is that you are right up in the fight. You will have to do your damage and then get out quick.

I run CoF and AC multiple times every night with the same group of guildies and I have very little issues with surviving.

Also, all my jewelry is berzerker’s as well (Ruby). My armor runes are all superior rune of the scholar for added precision and crit damage.

For right now the legendary’s have the same stats as exotic’s, but Anet will be buffing them to make them “Legendary”. No one knows to what extent yet.

We normally do path 1 every night at least once, we kill everything (no skipping). It usually takes us about 25 mins each time. How much faster are these speed runs anyway?

I don’t think standing there is a problem, the small spiders that spawn around the room have no problem attacking you there. I have been attacked there many times when the Queen Spider is kited to that area.

The problem is if you are the only person attacking the Queen from there and she is not attacking and you are not drawing aggro from her.

If you have 4 other players with you meleeing the Queen around the room and they are keeping her away from you, that should be considered good tactics.

Just make the Queen go invulnerable if there is no one else drawing aggro.

Dungeons always contested.

Last night we had a group of 5 guildies, we were at CoF and ran path 1 just fine. We exit to start the next path and the dungeon goes contested. We head down the bridge to do the event (which is in progress already) and there are only 2-3 other people there trying to do it. Now here is what gets me, there are at least 10-12 other players sitting at the dungeon entrance trying to put groups together instead of helping with the event. We asked for help twice and no one even cared. Needless to say the event failed because there was only 2½ minutes left when we came out of the dungeon. Once it failed a few of the people that were waiting outside the dungeon asked why was it still contested. Really?

The events leading up to the dungeons are a great part of this game, you get a lot of drops and XP.

If you are going to sit outside a contested dungeon, help with the event so everyone can enjoy it.
