Guild Wars 2

Went into Blacktide and Desolation borderlands to get kill variety and events for daily, at around 2 am CET earlier.
Was quite funny, capped the control point in Blacktide, the on close to the northwest tower, and suddenly i see this huge group of VS heading down the zigzag.
And I’m just standing in the control point, still capping, thinking “Pleasedontseemee-pleasedontseeme!”
And then you had this little Asura split off from the group, and stops to look at me.
We just kinda stand there, looking at each other…. Then i /wave, and he runs off, i cap the point and get one of my events.

Had a close call in Desolation borderlands as well, also against VS, but at least there was no risk of a zerg being called down on me, i attacked a cow close to a control point i’d capped before which had 1 person capping it back.
Completely blue map, suddenly, 1 red control point, made me lol a bit

As Snort explained, it’s not about us being awesome and we want GH to admit it (:p), its that people consistently keep saying kitten about the guilds who left a mere 3 weeks ago, even when it’s uncalled for and not really relevant anymore.
When that happens, we’re not going to idly stand by and go “Okay, well, they insult us, but it’s fine, we’ve switched servers and are happy where we are”
An insult is still an insult and should be adressed.

Speaking of, we didn’t leave because we desperately wanted to win, but because Blacktide was a server which fit us better with a similar mindset and actual willingness to work together. While GH wasn’t a bad server, it simply didn’t work out for us.
You know, a bit like the current situation?

Or until VS stops focusing on you and you guys shape up and it turns into a proper game

Haven’t decided yet whether to be mean and report one of the topics because another already exists, or not.

Blacktide is NOT looking for more people, contrary to popular belief.
Came to check this thread out after somebody i know mentioned KISS left and it was mentioned here, sparked my curiousity and i went researchin’ (which was as simple as looking at their forums and clicking the post named “KISS migration to a new server”)

For those who care: They moved to the US servers, Emhry Bay, and are apparently taking 3 other guilds along.
Also, lol.

Basically, it was understood that last week was rather easy for you guys with the French taking a break.
It was also understood that this week, Blacktide would come in.
You have been telling Blacktide for weeks you look forward to fighting us.
We appear, nobody is there.

Why didnt you use last week to take it easier? From what it sounds like, you didnt need to pull the long hours then…
It’s what plenty of us did last week, to get ready for this week.
To get then, this response is rather… yeah.

OUT with the French Canadian vs Americans talk! It’s been done to death and I can’t believe you guys are still going on and on about it, I generally love forum drama and even I’m getting tired of it.
We know it all at this point, if the both of you other servers can just grow up and move on about each other’s accusations already, i’m sure everybody would be very happy.

That would completely ruin it for servers with a weak 24/7 presence.
I don’t know if you’ve ever played against a server with night presence while you didn’t have any, but what happens is that they grab everything at night, upgrade it, and then you have a hard as hell time getting it back.

They stack up tons of points overnight and you want to give them even more? o.O

I used the terms and names everybody else has been using/complaining about, despite being perfectly aware Desolation isn’t an American server, jsut as Blacktide isn’t a Russian server
Vizunah is a French server though :p

I ask of other server not to come in here and flame any of the servers in this matchup.
We know you don’t like Americans/French/Russians and whatever tactics any of us use, but there are plenty of other topics on this discussion.

This is about the Tier 1 EU matchup between our servers.

Every day of a matchup matters, however that doesn’t mean that people should play every day np.

That ram was… well, i was trying to click the salvage kit while drunk, and then omg enemies and click 1 for autotarget, and then i ran forward and went “…wait a minute, there’s an empty spot in my bags…. and the stuff i was trying to salvage is still there… didnt i ahve a flame ram in my bags??”
At least it was a drop, not a buy :p

You should’ve heard me laughing on TS, im laughing even thinking about it.

Any person accusing any server of cooperation in this thread is clearly trolling and/or poking fun at the previous weeks’ “French cooperation vs Desolation” comments

Blacktide always comes out strong the first night and day of the matchup (except the first time in T2, against ER and FSP), it’s all about seeing if we can keep it up, we haven’t always managed

I was quite surprised at seeing the outmanned buff on Deso players in the BT Borderlands last night, and when i played earlier today.

I beleive there should just be one ladder, and it should’ve been there from the start.
IP restrictions would be horrible for many worldwide communities, and honestly, i feel that is more important that “oh no, they’re messing up our ladder”

On top of that, many people like talking to and meeting people from all over the world, and they shouldnt get restricted the way that some other companies do.

We tend to do a coordinated push on the reset, on top of that, we’ve got some of the best guilds on the EU ladder concentrated on our server
(can’t say anything about NA ladder)

Friday night, lag and invisible enemies ahoy

Stayed up all night last night to write an exam (deadline earlier today) and catsitting tomorrow…. Hope i’ll be awake and present for the first battles!

I’m not even being sarcastic or funny or anything.
What you’re saying IS the system we have, except that the NA ladder has been worldwide from the start, while the EU just had some NA stragglers.

If you want to split it up even more and more, we’ll end up with 10 ladders of 3 servers each, doesn’t sound that fun to me.

Honestly, i WISH Blacktide would get some NA players so i could stop repeating myself in denying it and explaining we have Russians who play in their morning.

Blacktide also started out with an early morning presence, the reinforcements we got were primetime.
However during our first match against the Germans (the one we didn’t win), there was what is now referred to as “the Russian Rumble” happening, with BT and FSP mostly focusing on each other.

By no means am i saying that ER didn’t deserve the win or played bad, they were awesome opponents, but i am saying that it wasn’t really an ordinary match.
Personally, i was really looking forward to see if we would be able to beat Elona in a “proper” matchup, and was disappointed that i wouldnt be able to play much this week due to exams.

I’m sad that they seem to have given up, it could’ve been pretty epic :/

Blacktide organised several guilds logging off at a certain hour when RG was transfering to us. I think we had about 5 guilds log off for15 mins ish.
If you coordinate well, and really want specific people on your server, that might be an idea

Fix guesting, put a cooldown on entering WvW after transfering, and make transfering paid.

Funny note: 5 minutes beofre all this happene,d tehre was a server message going “Reset in 3 hours”.
We were pretty happy with that since it meant we could get a path or 2-3 in.

Edit: Somehow, the Event didn’t bug and we managed to replace the person in the group going to bed. Progress!

….. So after weeks of no Arah, it’s finally not bugged anymore.
We happily run in, start doing, and ONE of our group members gets kicked off for a minipatch after the 2nd boss. Just him. Nobody else.
He logs back in, can’t enter with us again due to game client bug, and the reset coming with the patch closed the gate.
We consider continuing with the 4 of us, however 1 by 1 we get kicked out for patching and we find out that we can’t do Arah anymore since the event reset all the way back to the beginning of the zone, and even if it wouldn’t bug out somehow, we’re not many people online atm and its half past midnight so people might leave to go sleep before we even manage the event /twitch

Could make it like those barrier turrets in SE path 1, though ofc with limited length. That way its a bit easier to get the shape you need (and since its a forcefield, easier excuse to get through for friendlies/moomoos) withut messing too much with “i have to face this direction in this place to get that….” etc

They’re also useful at times.

We were sweeping and found some players, killed 1 while the other ran off, he managed to disappear several times (/sigh, Thieves :p) but in the end we killed someone.
We weren’t entirely sure it was the same guy, but somebody who was camping the corpse reported that he had suddenly released, so it was safe to assume that we at least got that team :p

Commanders are useful, if they’re good, but a voting system would be even more broken than the current “Buy the magnet”

Not really a problem for me since i’m huntsman and leatherworker, but i do have some swords and i really don’t feel like harassing other people to repair them, Or getting harassed by other people to repair their stuff.
Or be limited in what tradeskills i pick simply because i’d constantly have to look for other people to repair my stuff otherwise.

I’d like my character to be self-sufficient, and i would kitten well like for my Arah armor i worked hard for (or, well, will ahve worked hard for once the gates open again and i can get my last shards /glare) to be mine permanently.

The server-switching idea might’ve worked before, but now with the 7day cooldown….. No.
Also my home server is full at most hours, so it’s pretty hard to get back if anyone decides to sacrifice a week somewhere else simply because we want to do something in the game which shouldn’t give too much trouble

What tinfoil hat theories? It’s fairly obvious that threat in this game can be handled, though perhaps not in the way you’re used to.

And it’s not because a game, or an aspect of a game, is nothing for you that it’s bad or that the people who enjoy it are idiots
(Not saying dungeons are perfect, some are bugged to hell and really need looking at, others are “Brb, grabbing a smoke while auto-attacking”, and a few are fun and challenging)

I’d also realy love dungeon master, which is also not happening thanks to this.

Earlier today, we hoped that it was working after server reset – what happened then is that some other bugged events would work (for example, the tunnel events), but the Arah chain simply didn’t happen.

We feel Desolation put up a really good fight and were fun opponents. While they’re not the only server to have done so, they’re a server which hasn’t dropped, but has gone up instead, and fought more in higher tiers than us, on top of that, they grew significantly since our match.
So what we’re fighting will be Desolation+

Blacktide has an early morning/daytime coverage which doesn’t allow them as much leeway as they have normally, as you might’ve seen in our matchup before. I think that’s something they’re excited about as well, and i’m guessing also the fact that Blacktide, too, grew stronger since we’ve seen each other.

With Vizunah as a 3rd strong server (or so i assume), even if they don’t cover the same hours, it should be an interesting match regardless of your personal opinions on the servers or their tactics.

I’m surprised nobody has suggested restricting WvW access for a few days/1 week on transfering, yet

At least not the threads i read.

Our quiet hours are, as far as i know, 1-3 AM CET. (leeway for an hour each way)
We are, however, a full server with queues during most, if not all, EU hours. If those are the hours you play, and you’re into WvW, it might be an idea to join Far Shiverpeaks or one of the other decent WvW servers instead and help them get back up to challenge us

It kinda got glossed over in the other thread, with some people going “Oh, well, I don’t know who those guilds are” and others not even reacting to it, but unless one of your alliance leaders is now lying to try and get people, there is a NA presence on VS

In the meantime, we’re having fun in T2 and personally I’m curious about how far Miller’s Sound will go, they have been climbing massively and i’m curious to how they will hold up against us and the other top servers.

I also believe there should be enough competition that servers aren’t “tier1 server” and get stuck there. there should be a healthy competition with servers going up and down, spread over several tiers. Depending on the skill of the server, the tier they’re in now, and 1 tier up (or down).
Servers should be “t1-2” “t2-3” etc.
