i remember being allies with the emperor and the royal guards back in guild wars 1, i also remember being against the ministry of purity while still being allied to the royal guards, if anet can pull this off when(if)ever they decide to release cantha, it’d be pretty awesome, and if they can get jackie chan to do a voice of a captain of the royal guards and have the captain’s uncle being a grumpy oracle, that’d be amazing, ooh ,one more thing, internet points for people who get that reference

i think seeing someone turn evil would be cool, using an example from dragonfable as an example.
there was a war against a super powerful dragon and the blacksmith’s apprentice had family in the town being attacked, he entrusted the player to protect the town and keep his family safe but the player was too late and his family died,
he becomes enraged and blames the player for their deaths and turns to this pyromaniac evil dude to train him, he then becomes powerful and starts a new war and we have to try to stop him

that would be pretty cool, the living story could last for a while with all the different chapters, maybe the different chapters could e separated by a few months when said bad guy goes into hiding for evil training 101 and then come back for a big war in which we, the players have to kill x many (instanced) waves, with different endings to if we succeed, how many losses (of npcs) or if we lose, how badly

thats how i imagined a living story to be, the outcome and direction of future stories determined by how players act in the current one

i personally dont want the two to mix, presumably, the ps will continue with the other elder dragons/continents if they are released, if they start combining personal story with temporary content, new players would be very confused..

we dont know about cantha, the reason we think theyre xenophobic is because of usoku, who would have died centuries ago, it may just be that we’re cut off due to EDs, or the emperor could be nice but the ministry of purity could have all the power and be using the emperor as a puppet or something, maybe he doesnt even know of the world outside his palace?

Part of the problem is that Scarlet’s a troll character with no one to troll but the players. Harley Quinn is fun when she’s trolling Poison Ivy; the Joker is fun when he’s trolling Batman. The reaction is extremely important; without it, it becomes a cry for attention that’s being ignored, which just makes it pitiful and definitely not suitable for a character the story is at constant pains to point out is incredibly hot kitten.

So yeah, just give her someone to bounce off of. Give her a Norn Aetherblade captain as an ever-present second-in-command to be all stern and Norny and Crispin while she’s japing around, who she makes do all the paperwork and who never laughs at her jokes.

It could be the other way around, too; she could troll you, but have bumbling henchmen around to troll her. A tall guy/short guy buffoon combo (Scratcharr and Groundredge) who keep screwing up her orders and get yelled at a lot (“You molten morons!”). Or a gang of Skritt minions who shovel all the coal but who keep interrupting her speeches with Skrittisms (“ARE QUEENS SHINY?”).

This would make her Suck, which is really the main feature of a Saturday morning cartoon villain. Megatron can be intimidating, but he loses constantly, some of his schemes are petty or ridiculous, and he’s surrounded by noisy idiots. And frankly, given that we already know what hot kitten looks like (it looks like a dragon that is an actual hurricane), funny is probably the way to go here.

That is actually an incredibly good point. She’s a cartoon villian who doesn’t have the rest of the cast of the cartoon around to make her interesting or amusing. She really does need someone to riff off of to at least be entertaining. (Not going to touch how she gets to fudge the lore or her many “sue-ish” traits) As right now she’s just insufferably annoying and feels really out of place.

one day her minions will end p becoming bored of her and just leave, she replaces them with skritt (the only things stupid enough to join her) and thats how it starts

i think it means the creatures he controls, eg skeletons/aataxes/shadow army

plus i think the mad realm kinda belongs to mkt so is separate(ish) from the rest of the underworld

i think the islands look awesome
if they could implement guild halls to look like floating islands that come together during fights, that’d be pretty cool, although i doubt it will happen

im being optimistic and hoping that some day, you wont have to grind for ascended weapons, you could earn them by doing scavenger hunts (remember that black moa chick… awwwwww) or completing the storyline, not living story, actual storyline (once they decide to expand it to the next dragon)

we should make legendaries account bound on creation, stop people trying to sell them on tp and taking up all the top value spaces

Not to be that guy, but the tower wasn’t really as hard as people make it out to be. People are probably a lot more acclimated to them at this point. I’m sure people will have a much easier time this year around.

if scarlet is involvd in this, it’d be because we’re not paying attention to her, after being the focus of everyones annoyance for ages, halloween comes and everyone pretty much forgets about her, for a maniac criminal, that’d be the worst insult :P

it might not show up, the way to get the mad memoires last year was to find out what was going on with he mad king to find out what was going on (he hadnt been seen in 200 years so presumed a myth)

i wouldnt be surprised if they made a new dungeon, there was one last year, it might come back/be updated this year, i hhope all the versions of the dungeons come back with the following years’ paths added as time goes on, you’d need to complete the previous yeas to unlock the following ones

then what would be the point in getting the title for it? if you payed that much money for the skin instead of the rare item, that’d be better imo, if it was free, there’d be no point to them

most of the stations in the explorable areas dont have a bltp, check out the ones in: claypool in queensdale, ashford forums in plains of ashford, desider atum in metrica province and the icesteppes in wayfarer foothills

i find that its a shame that (for male asura) i dont think they have a ‘hold the line’ voice for the shout -.-

using the whole ‘rarer the item, better scaling’ thing will make a load of people complain, and generally, the rich will become richer as they can afford to get in more and the poor will become richer but at a slower rate, you’d have to have a scavenger hunt of trying to get parts of keys from around the world, then mf them into a big key to open it, these keys/parts of keys cannot be traded, zommoros has an increased chance (but still not common) to drop a precursor (also make legendaries account bound for dhuum’s sake)

instead of dropping a random precursor, dropping a precursor token that you can exchange with xt7 weapon part 1 (deldrimor steel sword hilt) and x t7 weapon part 2 (deldrimor steel sword blade)
all in all, this is an awesome idea

the 7-8 thousand years may have been the time between different rising of dragons, as we know, dragons have risen before, in my point of view, Giganticus lupicus became extinct after a dragon rising, since then they have fallen asleep, maybe woke up a few times, and then 2000 years ago, rose, fought the elder races, went back to sleep and now again returned (for the last time) what im sort of worried about is why the elder dragons are here, and if we kill them, what will happen to the world or us (what if we make things worse)

i know this is non canon, but the first plotline of gw2 was to have the angels and demons going to tyria to judge people. what if they use the dragons to absorb magic, then transfer the magic to power their cities, i dont know about you guys, but if some insects/rodents managed to take away our sources of energy, id be pretty annoyed, lets just hope that this isnt the case and that after we deal with the world’s current problems, new ones dont take their place (i dont wanna look to the skies and see this http://www.mangareader.net/the-god-of-high-school/108/26)

Ghostbore technology, invented by player in Iron Legion storyline. Given ultimate success of weapon tests and current rates of charr industrialization, ghost problem will be solved in few years without any legends and flashy swords.

i wouldnt say ‘solved’ more ‘kept in check’ though the ghostbore tech is very useful against ghosts, it doesnt outright destroy it, unless i missed a heart story somewhere, they still reform, just takes longer than normally

impossible, we destroyed the staff and its magic, it wont be coming back, if anyone discovers a way to get the other staff back, it’d be livia, and even then she’ll use it for the betterment of the 5 races, anything for kryta right? but i dont think th devs would bring it back, it’d be too op in the fight against EDs

maybe if shes still around, we could use the scepter of orr to remove the magic keeping joko alive….erm…. undead…..

in a lore perspective, normally in creepy dangerous places, the heroes stick together and cover each others weaknesses/look out for each other because if they are separated, they’re more likely to be picked off one by one, its what predators such as lions do, they pick out a single weak target that has been separated from the group and go for that one, different shoals of fish and even birds stay together to confuse the predator and make it harder to pick out an individual, safety in numbers people

if the government of cantha is still like usoku (which we dont know yet, it may have changed ideology again) and we do go to war, there’ll be a rebel army somewhere, maybe even kuunavang can help us

it may be that the current emperor is a good guy, but the ministry of purity have gotten too strong and made kaineng a ‘utopia’ where people are kept ignorant of the rest of the world/dragons – e.g. the earth kingdom in the avatar: last airbender series, thus, we’d have to help the emperor deal with the ministry of purity

loremaster konig, there is that cutscene in the order of whispers arc that states that dragon minions cant reproduce; although maybe she was a very specialised minion

to get this thread back on topic, if the priests and priestesses of kormir are willing to gouge out their eyes, they’d be wwilling to steal anything and claim it in the name of their god

we know that at some point, osaku united cantha using the military and caused an isolation in cantha, however, after that, the dragons cut off communication with the continent, sometime in the last few years, something may have changed, we already know that cantha was trading with kryta pre-zhaitan (sea of sorrows book)

it just means you have to work to keep hold of certain dungeons, if you dont like it, try and guest to find a non- contested version

giganticus lupicus seems to fit the undead one found in arah, its a giant (giganticus) wolf (lupicus) like thing, so it makes sense, maybe scholars found the bones in the desert but thought they were just random bones of some sort of giant demon things, like when shark teeth washed up on shores in ancient times and people thought they were dragons teeth

i suppose it isnt as easy as ‘intelligent’ or ‘not intelligent’ , if it were me, id have come out of my lair and trashed everything myself at the very start, without centuries for the races t develop weapons against them, if the dragons had stormed the major capitals when they awoke, nothing would be left
