@tigirius – you say its long overdue for an expansion but there is fresh content every 2 weeks or so plus do you have any idea as to the work and money that goes into an expansion they said recently that they wernt working on one, if i wanted an expansion, id want it to be good, not assembled in a month or so

as for integration, in gendarren, there was a woman who had adopted orphaned children of the other races, excluding sylvari who are born fully developed

this is pure speculation but it may be that the mursaat had 2 factions, one that sided with the white mantle and the rest which did not, Saul S’Alessio claimed to have seen a city of mursaat, if there is one city, there may be more. and the others may be friendly, however this is VERY unlikely

people cannot use magic who wern’t born with the ability, doesnt mean that they will choose to use it or even know if they have it (is what I’m guessing)

this was a quote from the orrian history scroll about signets “Is the land there so magical that all are born with the ability to use magic without the need for education?” which seems to imply that to use magic, one must be born with the ability as well as to learn it (could be wrong)

kralkatorik is in the north of crystal desert (where brand ends) and at the bottom (but not in) crystal desert is elona where joko has an undead army (not zhaitan) to get to elona we have to first kill kralky, if there will be an elona expansion, it will be to help the sunsears and deal with joko

one event chain seems to give the impression that the brand can spread, if it can and has left the tomb untouched, may be interesting to know if this has happened

pretty much all trees (with a few exceptions) produce some kind of seed to produce offspring and pass on their genes, some bearing fruit with the goal of using animals to disperse the seeds for them. I know the Pale Tree is a very unique tree, but I was thinking, are the pods that Sylvari are born out of a type of ‘fruit’ in which case, Sylvari are the seeds, designed to find their own way away from the main tree to rest literally on the other side of the planet.

I was thinking, at the core of every Sylvari, is there a seed? and when a Sylvari dies and is buried, the seed is ‘planted’ which lead me to think of Killeen’s grave, despite it being in the brand, it is not corrupted, and as we all know, Sylvari do not get corrupted by dragon magic.

Plus there are some very shiny flowers right on her grave. Baby tree? maybe all Sylvari possess a different seed, one that will grow into a very different plant.

Having said that, the cave that Rowan found the pale tree seed in, maybe they’re all the previous generation of Sylvari that fought the elder dragons when they last arose? (the druids?) In which case, the Sylvari family tree (excuse the pun) is more complicated than we thought.

This also kind of gives the reason as to why Sylvari cant bear children like the other races do.

we have the dragons spawning every 3 hours or so, wouldnt it be awesome if we had event chains that took 1 week/month to come back? there wouldnt be a set day for it to return, instead there would be a message in chat that stated that the event had started, these events would give awesome loot like exotics or other stuff :P

on a side note, I think that the way the new weapon skins are made available is a bit rubbish, other than the chests that you can buy from the gem store i think the living events should give a new ‘item’ that you could collect a different one every week, at the last week of the living story, a merchant would collect the pieces and exchange them for a weapon ticket, that way players could have the chance to get one weapon per account without having to either spend loads of gold/gems/grinding for coffers

i really hope that they either correct the 1000 taffys if it was a mistake or that the ‘story’ quests give us like 25 jorbreakers each :P

it would be better if they did a living event and didn’t announce it, you know, let the players find it for themselves that would give the world a more ‘living’ feel, rather than have a bunch of adventurers ‘just so happen’ to be in the area when it all kicked off

It will be a holiday celebrating the 1 year anniversary of this game, I’m assuming. Not much will happen, typical holiday stuff. The big thing is going to come out of the last act of the living story before it. I’m expecting dominion of winds to be open.

its not celebrating 1 year anniversary, its celebrating independence day (July 4th)
GW2 was released on August 28th if I remember correctly so we still have a couple of months for that

the dragon based festival is because of the dragon festival from gw1, since dragons are the bad guys, a festival for them doesn’t fit… on the main site it says this:

“Once revered, dragons are now generally viewed as destruction and death incarnate. The Captain’s Council has realized that the old Dragon Festival is no longer appropriate, so Dragon Bash is about unifying Tyria to destroy the Elder Dragons.”

living story is temporary to give the world a feel of being ‘alive’ and ‘evolving’ i do think its a nice concept but i do prefer doing a permanent storyline where you can choose what to do next, although that is probably a lot more work, on the wiki it says that ‘As of May 14th 2013, there are no current plans for an expansion’ which made me sad same with the guild halls and player housing

as with player items, the different sets are purely for the look and the prefixes (carrion, berzerker’s etc) are to do with the insignia or inscription on armor or weapon (do some crafting and you’ll understand) they are the ones that give the items its stats, they let the player choose what they want to focus on whether its attack, defence, or support

permanent content takes so much planning and effort to make it interesting and big enough for players to always want to go back to so I think Anet are doing a fine job with it so far, giving us new content every month instead of nothing for a year, keeps players on our toes

lions arch is the ‘free city’ so all races can get together so that’s why all the events are there, the Wintersday event toured all cities and the Halloween event was in lions arch because that’s where the royal family of kryta used to live till it got flooded by zhaitan

Just my opinion, but Lions are probably also alive beyond the blazeridge mountains, since Charr are basically talking lions who can walk on 2 legs.

i dont know about you but i havent seen any lions with horns, plus most cats have retractable claws, so if anything, theyre related to doggies… either that or cheetah side but they look too stocky to be cheetahs

sylvari wont mind who/what they form a bond with as technically theyre not any gender, they are just imitated forms

the quest in gw1 where you nearly get married to a norn is called Prenuptial Disagreement, in the female version olaf olafson says “It is Norn custom that marriage can only happen between those of equal reputation. All your hard work has paid off! Now we can be wed, raise a dozen half-Norn children, and live in the mountains.”

however someone confirmed that norn and humans cannot interbreed

Well, Shiny and Kuunavang were saltspray dragons, with no known connection to Elder Dragons, unlike Glint. And that mission where you defend the baby dragon was pretty much what got me to thinking if any of them survived to this day.

That came out wrong, what I meant was that the only known baby dragon of glint was in that mission, I wanted to know what happened to ALL ‘good’ dragons, not simply those affiliated with glint, plus we don’t know if Kuunavang was or was not tied to an elder dragon (like glint was), there is still bubbles and maybe this Mordremoth, you never know what the dev team will think of next, one of the reasons I adore the Guild Wars franchise

maybe when we fight kralky we choose one of 2 attack paths to start with, one going south, following the brand from ebonhawke and the other may be going down scavanger’s causeway, making the new cleansed south part only accessible once you kill zhaitan?

maybe the 6th dragon took pity on the races of Tyria and split himself into other minor aspects which then became the gods? (I just blew your minds), maybe he has a link to arachnia and abaddons predecessor?

Asura gates have to be paired. Each one in LA points to a twin in the relevant city and so on. The waypoints are a different story, and as best i can tell there are no explanation for them in game outside of the starting area scouts pointing out their practical uses. Hell, one of the opening asura stories are all about non-gate teleporting magitech. It is short range and barely working.

snaff (i think his name was) developped a portable gate that you can plop anywhere and travel anywhere (i think so anyways) it was in edge of destiny

every time i apply gold dye to the primary colour slot of my asura tier 2 heavy cultural armor and then leave the dye menu – the gold dye turns to grey dye, this only seems to happen with gold dye in the primary dye slot – i tried it with other dyes but they acted normally

guild halls could be placed in the mists, a bit like with detha’s watchtowery place (base of the fractals missions) so then anet could become REALLY creative in the making of their halls, the boundry of which could be a steep drop :P

ascended items are supposed to be high end stuff – just set yourself of a long term goal and it’ll make the game less boring, if anet just gave you everything, no one would be unique and the whole game would be boring
