Having serious mixed feelings about Ranger changes
/gavemeaheadacheaswellandrangersinceheadstart
These are the most up to date pictures of Collametta, my main since head start, level 80…
By the way, I tested the poison for you.
… Whoever applies the poison 1st gets the damage going. The other applications will have to wait the queue. So if you apply the poison 1st-you are fine. If it’s the pet – your poison will have to wait.
Thank you for checking, I switched out the Cave Spider for the Drake Hound, and kept the Ice Drake. That seems to be doing better.
I also switched out the two sigils on the LB and have been watching my combat log…looks like I crit every other shot and for much much higher numbers than I started with.
The low health still gets me sometimes if I’m not paying attention, but that’s getting better too.
Thanks, I’m still getting use to some of the changes, but am having fun with it.
I do appreciate the suggestions and help, it has made a big difference.

I would switch Spider for Drakehound or another canine.
The poison from the spider will overwrite your own, more powerful poison, so you will be losing damage there.
You don’t want your pets to overwrite any conditions you apply yourself. So you should aim for pets that apply conditions that you can’t, or use non-condition applying pets.
I did not realize they could overwrite my own, I always assumed they stacked. Good to know.
@ Tragic, even though I really want to make the ascended, between finding the recipe drops and HoT coming out, waiting might be what i am forced to do.
My crit hits are definitely higher now…

Oh, I didn’t even think of those for my LB, i’ll check them out. And definitely will go check out the www infusions
So this is the End Goal
Vitality infusions on the armor and condition damage infusions on the weapons…or would power be better for the weapons and healing on the armor…

The pizza has been working out for me, and I really don’t mind the price…but if ya’ll think there is something better, I don’t mind checking into it…
I had all the recipes for the Sinister exotics already, so that’s what I made this weekend. So just a step down from the Verata’s Ascended. I will check out the Fire Flank Steak too.
I’m not short on gold, but I hear what your saying. As for the Sinister accessories, I have enough crests and gold to buy the three from the SW vendor…its finding the Verata’s recipe books that’s proving difficult.
That looks a lot better. You should definitely try out entangle instead of rampage as one, you’ll be able to proc your rune bonus way more often and really bump up those bleeds.
I will definitely try that out.
Maybe Ice Drake and Cave Spider? For the chilling, poison etc?
Also, for the Verata’s (when I get it), should I use the healing, toughness, or vitality infusions? Since the slots are defensive…

So, from the changes I made this weekend, this is where I currently sit:
Should I change out the pets for a Cave Spider and Lashtale Devourer for even more conditions? Or stick with the birds for the swiftness?

I’ll try switching that up when I get home after work…I’ll try to post a screen of where my numbers are now, too.
Thanks Heimskarl…it was definitely not a troll build…I was actually kind of proud of it because it was working for me.
I try to stay away from meta builds so I still feel like I am unique…but I get it and I have spent the weekend swapping around gear et al, to try to accommodate some suggestions made here.
I enjoy my LB/SD combination, so I don’t really want to give that up, but I have swapped for the Sinister set and will probably work towards the Verata’s set…only cruddy thing is, is the amount of gold I already spent on two pieces of Occam’s and I’m not sure which infusions to get…but currently not equipping any Ascended right now.
I swapped for the Mad King runes, and switched out the two sigils on my LB for ones that effected the vulnerability cond on skill 2 – which in the first 2 seconds of a fight I can now stack 25.
Switched my tuning crystals and my food as well. I do deal way more damage now, but have lost 10K in HP…but when I’m PvE roaming, mobs die before they even come close to me, so that’s good.
S/D still keep me alive, unless it’s a Legendary.
If I get hit with bleeds, though, like in Breech, I’m dead within about 20 seconds….so I’m not sure what to do about that.

I wasn’t self proclaiming anything. All I came here to do was share a build that I enjoy and all I do is get flamed for it. You don’t have to like it and I’m not trying to prove anything. I don’t really do PvP or WWW…I wanted something different for myself that I found fun, not trying to be a ‘one hit wonder’. ..I have 7 other 80’s that are meta for that.
…And I’m a ‘she’ not a ‘he’.

I’ll be in Southsun farming Karka this morning for at least the next hour or so…come see if you like
/shrug don’t knock it till you try it. No joke and nothing needs fixing. If you don’t believe me, your welcome to group up with me in game to see how it works…when I can kill stuff faster than you and stay standing, then come back and tell me what you think.

This is the build I have been working almost 3 years on, lots of mobility, speed, and conditions. As far as I can tell, I have not seen a build like mine. I only have the chest and feet ascended, as well as a back piece, so I can only see this getting better as I flesh everything out over the next few months. Just wanted to share.
If you want to look at Ascended, you also have Verata’s, Occam’s, and Gobrech’s that each match at least two of what your looking for. You can always pick up the third stat through infusions and runes.

If you use sword and dagger, that would give you enough mobility around the target with just skills and little movement with left hand. Panning the camera with your mouse as you move is a trick you’ll have to learn though.
This is Collametta, my main level 80 (out of 8 80’s), working towards ascended.
Here is Collametta (very first character from head start), lvl 80, working towards ascended gear…

I was frustrated with this fight for about 30 minutes of trying the final ring event until I finally, by accident, figured out how in the heck to finish it. Right after you run through the ring to get the fire, you hit the little shadow dudes (kill ’em in one swipe) and then run and light the fire. After I figured that out, the last part took me about a minute.
The getting knocked around kind of stunk, but speed and stability boosts helped a ton when timed right.
lol I stand corrected Khyrpa, good find.
I am with you khani…but I think she’s trying to duck out of main stream stuff for a while…plus most of her time is probably taken up with producing Geek and Sundry
Rurik has nothing to do with the ascension runes…but he does tie in to another part of the story…I know I am repeating myself…but it would make more sense if it was Rurik and not the Ghostly Hero because Rytlock has Rurik’s sword…and for 2+ years, we have had no idea how it came to be in his possesion.
Then Rytlock dissappears…and now we possibly have a ghost that could be Rurick…just my thoughts though.
I saw just saying Rytlock has his sword…have no idea who the figure actually is…but if its Rurick, maybe he’ll tell us how a char ended up with his stuff.
Don’t believe it’s rurik, or he changed his armor when he was dead…
I dont know, it might make sense for it to be Rurik… Rytlock does have his sword…
The basement of the Priory is just where they store all the biggest magical secrets…I think the Jade brick is just part of that…not a reference
New sylvari chr introduced
Sylvari chr and Marjory are purposely on box inspecting Jade encased Wurm.
No big deal.
You mean this? I think they just find it interesting…That was in a LS episode a few back…
The basement of the Priory is just where they store all the biggest magical secrets…I think the Jade brick is just part of that…not a reference
marionette was pretty simple once everyone figured out the mechanics.
I agree, Azure. My ranger does best in SW…my ele does less well, and I have tried my necro and warrior…but my Ranger works best.
This is a great idea…and it would free up tons of space in my bank
Dailies didnt start until a few months after launch actually…
Might want to check your sources there. Dailies have been present since the prelaunch event 3 days before offical launch.
You can see the history of dailies here:
my bad, i’m old and tend to have a hard time remembering timelines…beta kind of bleeds into launch in my mind
…I remember when there weren’t dailies/monthlies at all…
Oh, nice! Thats awesome
Im with yall…still havent seen it in the last week or so…been camping there for days
Welcome OP! My husband and I came from Everquest 2, as well, when this game launched 2 years ago. Have fun, and let me know if you need help with anything. You can message Little Ace or Collametta.
I am with you, Tetisuko, the Annihilator is the last one I need. Been at Red Rock for 2 days now
We could send them Mary Wintersday in-game mails with cookies
Even though I would love to see them incorporated more in GW2…I would settle for minis…like a mini Koss…or Mhenlo
Why so pessimistic all the time Konig? It’s a cool teaser image.
