No revive skill on revs

in Revenant

Posted by: HaxTester.9816

If someone tried to use Signet of Mercy in a raid, I would probably kick them.

Revenant does not need a revive skill.

Also you may want to check up on your definition of “penultimate”.

Thanks for correction.

I would probably kick you if I you didn’t use Signet of Mercy in a raid.

I remember we check each other’s build before starting a Zaishen mission in Guild Wars 1. We plan before doing the hard version of the Zaishen mission, that includes carrying rez signet, and other necessities. Is GW2 any different, just because you can dangerously rez someone by standing next to them?

Make gyro AI attack player character

in Engineer

Make some of gyro AI attack the player character please. That way they keep close to the player all the time, not just follow the player. Ofcourse they would not damage the player, they will just move in melee range all the time, or rather, they get close to the player more often. Does it make sense? For example, the medic gyro will “attack” you, but with a heal burst instead. Another is the sneak gyro, it will have 100 range melee attack so it has to go near you all the time. In Guild Wars 1, you have heroes that can do touch skills, gyro will function like that, ie. go near you before using their skills.

BW3 Difficulty Nerf [merged]

Maybe they misunderstood it when they sent out survey forms to random beta testers. Maybe they kept seeing the word “hard” in the survey and thought maybe we didn’t like the difficulty of the content. While I like the difficulty of the past version of the maps, it got me thinking, what about those who are already level 80 but still has greens and blues. I say this from my own experience, I was so noob back then I still had blues and greens and some rares when I hit level 80 the first and second time. This is compounded by the fact that traits no longer give bonus stat points, so all your stat points are derived from your gear. How about this, put an exotic gear seller near the entrance of the map, so people could do the early missions in the map repeatedly and get starter exotics for their characters.

People are even talking about rune of mercy because of that, and revive skills might even find a use in the raids, but still revs are too high and mighty to have any skill that revives their fellow team mate. Ironic, Rytlock is the penultimate Revenant, yet he won’t leave a man behind. Glint protected humanity and the world, yet she won’t leave a man behind. Ventari is against violence and harbors those who are defeated and helps those in need, yet he won’t leave a man behind. Revs give you 2 seconds facet of light, and that’s it. I didn’t know you could cancel targeting by just clicking on an empty space. Before, I cancelled targeting by pressing escape key, but sometimes you have to press escape thrice, not just twice, to cancel targeting. So I find myself overpressing the escape key often, and this cancels my autorun, and it was getting annoying that I posted about it here. One forum member told me about the clicking empty space method, I still couldn’t believe I overlooked it, it was so simple, probably because I was so used to pressing keys in GW1 to choose targets and pressing escape key to cancel target.

HaxTester.9816

Good to hear this dev news. I know you guys stated before you don’t like client side “saving and loading” of any sort, but why not? You guys did it with Guild Wars 1, why not just reuse what you have learned with GW1 templates? League of Legends has a template system of sorts, but you’ve already made one yourselves years before they did it. Sometimes I wonder what’s going on in your head lol, such wasted resources. If you are worried about “game versions” and that templates of one version might not work in another version, then include a version ID in the template code. TBH, I don’t care much about sharing my templates to others, so it’s fine for me if there’s no chat code component of the template system. But if you would like players to be able to share templates, then maybe try a “preview” window, a compact version of the trait UI (with the ability to change traits disabled ofcourse). You might even include a save system in this trait template preview window.

I’ve seen the new Fallout 4 videos showcasing the new stat and trait system, highlighting each of the “specialties”. I’ve thought, why not make showcase videos as well of the new GW2 specializations. Not just trailer-like videos that we already have, I’m thinking in the form similar to the Fallout 4 showcase videos, one with a narrator. I’m thinking something similar to the videos made by Eexa, but focusing on detailing the specializations. Actually I want it to be voiced by the male asuran voice actor, because the asuran male’s voice and tone reminds me of Stewie Griffin from The Family Guy series haha.

Roaming, ~ beating a dead horse

in WvW

Posted by: HaxTester.9816

HaxTester.9816

Roamers cut off supply, capture objectives, and ambush enemy reinforcements (and can even do covert sieges). I don’t know what you are saying about ‘WvW not designed for roamers’. Roamers, defenders, and scouts are an integral part of the army, and they use up their own time and money just to do those jobs. There should be a guild reward/payment system such that there is a gold reward pool, and a guild leader could assign objectives in the map and set rewards for doing those tasks by the guild members. Not just the rewards you normally get. For example, if a guild owns a keep or tower, there is a reward system for defending it, or even the guild leader could assign tasks to their members or members could volunteer for these tasks. That goes for roamers as well, for example when volunteers cap a certain amount of camps or kill a certain amount of enemies, they get gold and loot rewards. The gold reward pool will come from donations from the guild members, and can even reward non-guild members.

I don’t think so though, but it’s something to be reconsidered if they are hiring “top voice actors”.

Ranks need to be per class in my opinion, similar to Starcraft 2 were you have separate levels for Zerg, Terran, and Protoss. I play Random, so my levels are around 30 to all races, but overall I’m level 90+. Why play random you ask. Because it’s kittening fun, and you get to see the game as a whole and know what tactics your enemies could use. The same way I don’t play only one job class in GW2, although I have more experience with necros than the other classes.

Knockbacks interrupt but doesn't cancel

in PvP

Posted by: HaxTester.9816

HaxTester.9816

When you are pushed back when you are just about to cast a ground targeted skill, it will interrupt you, but it doesn’t cancel your ground targeting, and the moment you get out of stun, you will instead cast it where you last clicked it on the ground. You might say, oh that’s great, that’s actually good…. You were pushed back.. bear that in mind. So where you inadvertently clicked on the ground when you were pushed back is farther away than where your intended to cast it. The problem here is the knockback interrupts your skill activation but doesn’t cancel your command input, and you end up casting it on the wrong place. I understand command queuing. But imagine, just imagine this, you are being pushed around all over the place and your camera is going left and right as well, would you still command queue and risk targeting the wrong place because of position displacement, and therefore, camera displacement? This problem is compounded further if you have fast casting enabled.

For example, when multiple enemies suddenly reveal themselves from stealth coming to the point where I am at, I hastily type in “2 home”, or “3 inc home”, etc. Sometimes in my panic I mispress the wrong buttons and instead activate random skills while typing what I needed to relay in team chat. I’ve been thinking about using a macro program to automatically type in chat for several months now, but didn’t because I’m not sure if it’s allowed. But not in Guild Wars 2 when you have skills that require ground targeting. When you are a necromancer and using staff, when you go down midway through casting staff skill 2, your downed state skill will go on cooldown without triggering the effect (fear).

I had an FPS drop problem as well a few weeks ago, but it’s back to normal again, I think they fixed it. But lately however I’ve been having FPS drop “hiccups” from time to time. Just a while ago my client was stuttering so bad in the HotM lobby, now it’s back to 30+ FPS again. It’s not the best FPS around, but it does the job and the graphics is smooth enough, I mean when I swing the camera or when I move, it doesn’t stutter at all.

I was tempted to buy a Twilight myself through gold sellers. ^^;; I can’t blame you if you gave in to RMT. Atleast now they give you another chance, I think before it was permaban, I’m not so sure though.

Could you please change the rarity of the Pirate Sword costume brawl toy into Exotic, so that I won’t accidentally destroy it when I see I couldn’t salvage it? I know, I know, it will prompt you first if you really want to destroy it, but I am thinking others might immediately destroy it reactively, and realizing their mistake moments later. Actually, not just Pirate Sword, maybe change all toys and other infinite items to exotic (or rare) rarity.

No, please don’t roll back. These people don’t know what they are talking about and have no evidence to back them up aside from subjective conclusions based on emotions. These people don’t want to lose their unfair advantage over those with high latency. IT’S NOT THE FAULT OF THE NET CODE IF YOU HAVE 123781265112312857162831282312 MS PING DOG kitten IT!
