What they did in GW2 is superior to what League of Legends has. If you have high latency in LoL, your movement and skills are both delayed. In GW2 there’s no delay in your skills, or atleast the delay appears non-existent. When you activate a skill, it registers immediately in all the clients. One thing that still has delay though is the location of character when they are in motion. This results in missing your targets because what you are seeing in your screen is slightly delayed. I don’t know if this was a remnant from the code of Guild Wars 1. They have evidently improved this, as seen in the video I posted before.

One thing I’ve noticed before was that map chat almost has no visible delay. Party invites don’t have delay as well. Are those using IRC? Maybe use what those components are using in the movement updates.

I had a hard time playing melee weapons in PvP since the start, I noticed my attacks weren’t connecting and my suspicions were confirmed when I did some tests a month ago. I did some tests again today, and WOW, it’s alot of improvement. I can actually hit things now in PvP with melee weapons. People with high latency connections were at a disadvantage when using melee weapons. I have to do some guess work to compensate for the lag, and sometimes that wasn’t enough. Actually there’s almost no delay in skill use. The problem is the delay with character position updates to the clients. That’s why even though our targets seem to be within range of our attacks, they are actually farther away, and we are just hitting their shadows so to speak. Maybe increase the trait space, for example make minor traits selectable, so other traits can make a comeback, while others that have been baselined will now become optional (to reduce imbalance).

I don’t mind it (especially since I will mostly see the translated version ingame) but I think it’s a bit odd that they chose a term that is already used in lore. See Scrapper.

Hey, they are a respectable bunch. And a fun one too. Have you played a Charr’s loyal soldier personal story? The ‘scrappers’ you meet, despite having debilitating injuries, instead of living off welfare or resorting to crime, they do whatever they can to contribute to the Legions. They are proud of what they do, even though they have this stigma. Those who look down upon them are the real “scraps” you know what I’m saying?

As you said, you could turn it off if you don’t want it. League of Legends has been doing this, Battle.net is also doing it. Ironically, ArenaNet came from Battle.net. One step forward, then dun goofed and stumbled five steps back.

To decrease load on the servers and increase speed of patching for the users? It can be situational, such as when the patch is small, it won’t use P2P at all. Even Microsoft is planning to use peer-to-peer technology to send updates to users.

I’ll just repost this to remind the devs.

In League of Legends and Defense of the Ancients and Counter Strike and Team Fortress 2 and so many other games, you could customize your load out based on your team and the other team. Why can’t we have an easy and quick system in PvP to customize ourselves accordingly, before the start of the team battle, so we can devote most of the wait time into thinking and talking to our team mates about the battle ahead.

You were ahead of your time with templates in GW1, now it’s like you took one step forward, then dun goofed and stumbled five steps back.

If you are bored, try doing something out of the ordinary. Like for instance, I never thought I’d be using necromancer alot in PvP in GW2, since I rarely used them in GW1 (although they were alright, I just don’t find they fit my playstyle). I was trying out the various job classes in PvP, then when I played necro it suddenly clicked for me. And now thanks to sir Choxie, I’ve been doing a lot of zerg busting in EotM. With all the cliffs in the new borderlands, I’m looking forward to doing some zerg busting in there as well.

I’d like to try an AMD card myself on my 2016 upgrade, but the Shadowplay feature of nVidia is just too good for me to try out the competition (I record videos often as game memories of some sort). I didn’t know about AMD’s GVR until now, thanks for this info.

I wonder how the devs wanted us to play in this event. Maybe they really intended for us to WP all over the maps, but ofcourse there will be greed. Above all, we wanted this event to succeed, but there’s no apparent penalty for being greedy, aside from mordrem attack sites taking longer to take down. Maybe it’s wiser after all to stay in one site and help finish it, rather than people doing run-tag-run.

Judging by the blossom reward amount, the amount to buy some of the items and the limited time of the event, the devs might have intended for us to buy only one or two of the available items. Although the cost to buy one of the potions is a bit skewed to be honest at first glance. Compared to the Escape from LA/Battle for LA events, it took me about a week of collecting ‘lost belongings’ tokens to buy each of the potions. It’s really that hard to get it. Maybe that’s what they wanted to reflect on the price of the potion.

This event is a good marketing move by anet, obviously targeted at our new F2P co-players. But this is also an opportunity to show people how they handle problems, there maybe some kitten ups, but their way of handling this can make an impression as well about the game and the devs as well. It’s not grace under pressure, it should be awesome under pressure.

Maybe they were trying to use the progress system used in Escape from Lion’s Arch where you need to reach certain points to earn better rewards, but instead of a map wide progress tracking, they individualized it. People were complaining that some were just AFK’ing the event, so people wanted a personal contribution tracking instead. Well, kitten if you do, kitten if you don’t eh?

It was re-opened during the Festival of the Four Winds to aid in the effort to rebuild Lion’s Arch. Will it be re-opened again to get relief funds for the Zephyrites, since they did visit Divinity’s Reach in the past? How about add new bosses in the arenas, is it too late to add new bosses since you are trying to polish Heart of Thorns?

Try nVidia Shadowplay since you have a GTX770. I used to record videos using Hypercam 2, which is similar in function to Bandicam, and it was CPU intensive. Now I record videos using the Shadowplay as it’s not as CPU intensive as other software screen recorders. I even tried Fraps, I found that Shadowplay is still better. Recordings of gameplay can reach up to hundreds of megabytes though, so may need to edit or delete videos you do not need or want.

I think this map benefits from people splitting up into multiple groups rather than zerging. The enemies themselves aren’t hard to defeat, although you do need 3 people to man the catas.

I tested your theory by making a new character of different job classes, and it’s still the same. There’s a visible line beneath the eyes now.

Did they change something in one of the default female asuran faces? There’s now a prominent line below the eyes, on the cheeks, and it looks like eye bags. Did they depress the eyes, or raise the cheeks? It looks like the lower area around eye socket is jutting out.

Videos are better than screenshots. I recommend everyone to take a video of their fights if their PC can handle it. We need to be vigilant against them, especially that there’s a way to obtain a precursor through the upcoming PvP leagues. Don’t listen to others who say, “oh they don’t exist”, “oh I haven’t seen any speedhackers in their 912512313125123 games”, “oh it was just this skill and that skill that did it” (WE kittenING KNOW THERE ARE SHADOWSTEP SKILLS THAT TELEPORT PEOPLE NUMBNUTS!), and my favorite one, “oh it’s just ‘desync’, yup, they are just ‘lagging’” (HOW CONVENIENT OF THEM THAT THEY ONLY LAG DURING CRITICAL TIMES OF THE BATTLE AND WHEN TRYING TO GETTING AWAY).

Monks will be next job class? So maybe this time they will know kungkitten That means the next weapon might be gauntlets. Spears might make a comeback as well, both as ranged weapons and melee weapons, so now we have Dragonhunters, maybe we will have Dragoons next? This is just wishful thinking because I’m a big fan of the dragoon job class in Final Fantasy haha. Gauntlets on elementalists could become Battlemages where they combine elements to form new spells. One element in each hand and combine it like a kittening Invoker in some other game, or Magicka, or even Naruto. It will be an alternative to the close range dagger/dagger (or dagger/focus). What about spear on warrior? They did use spear to build up adrenaline in GW1 lol. Maybe Headhunter perhaps if tribal theme, or maybe Godspear or Lancer of the Gods or even Sunspear if Elonian theme? Necromancers with gauntlets will get their touch skills back lol. As for engineers with gauntlets, well… pic related? lol

Maybe put hats on pets? Like the Mini Lavish Llama. Or maybe even warpaints and collars, like the loyal Mabari hounds in Dragon Age. Ofcourse these are all just in PvE, or if players disabled standard models in PvP.

I think food needs a boost as well, since weapon and armor stats gained a boost with the separation of stats and tratis, and food is meant to supplement stats, you could say food is the 4th equipment type (ie. weapons, armor, trinkets, food + utility items).

Maybe armor sets will become ingame rewards and outfits as store items? I see your point about interchangeability, but maybe if they make outfits as armor, they have to worry about clipping so they have limited freedom with designing outfits. Maybe in the future you can have armor versions of the outfit, ie. while in outfit mode, talk to an npc and that npc will give skins based on your outfit and armor class.

@Kumion, the forum mod just repeated what was written on the paper in front of her, I’m not even sure if she still plays the game. The last post of CC Danicia was on July 7, 2014, which is kinda odd when your job is Community Coordinator.

Meaning she just said the event will end and the NPC will be removed. She did not say Living Season 1 will never become replayable forever and ever, thus the found belongings may become exchangeable again, unless they make that episode drop another kind of item instead.

You don’t understand, engineers are using retrofitted grenades invented by the collaboration of Charr and Asuran scientists that has a tiny anti-gravity mesmeric crystal device attached to the grenades that partially negates gravity and makes the trajectory faster. Next they will invent teleporting bombs, oh wait, they already did. j/k

There seems to be no delay in WvW as well when it comes to skill use. When I fear my first account, my second account is feared immediately. It’s only the current position of the enemy player that has a delay.

I have a high latency (240ms) and I have discovered that my targets are actually farther away than what I see on screen. Not only do I have to get to point blank range to ensure a hit, sometimes when I do get to point blank range, they are actually away from the position I see them on my screen, because people are not just moving in one direction, they are also moving sideways and towards you to your back. So I find myself swinging wild trying to get lucky with my hits. What I noticed though is that there’s almost no delay on skill use. The server is in sync with all clients when it comes to skill use (ie. when one player attacks, the other player immediately sees it). Could you update the movement code so that it’s more in sync with players even with high latency, just like when players are using skills. Please, PLEASE, reduce movement delay between clients. I think there’s a delay on the dodges as well.

Please make minis as doorbreakers and attackers in Stronghold. Tengu archers have a flaw, and that they don’t “tank” the siegers as they are ranged and the siegers have a shorter range than the attackers. Minis can have varying speed, strength and defense, but only minute in difference.

There’s an animation outside the battleground of skritt doorbreakers dancing around a bonfire. Maybe you can still changed this to minis instead of skritts.

Lately I had been experiencing fps slow down as well, to around 10+ fps in Lion’s Arch. That was painfully sluggish. Now it’s consistently around 35+ fps, very acceptable, as silky smooth as my graphics card could make it. Good job anet.

@Esreyr, other classes have traits that augment reviving too.

@Electro, yes this is the easiest work around. Maybe add the ability in the Facet of Light of Legendary Glint stance, since the Herald trait as stated by Esreyr already gives a buff while reviving.

While playing a rev character, I’ve noticed it didn’t have any utilities that help in rez’ing a team mate. I know it’s a rarely used ability in PvP, but why leave revs out of this utility? I mean in GW1, it’s standard to carry a rez signet in PvP (or atleast in Random Arenas), and the closest you can get to a rez signet in GW2 are the utility skills. But consider why there is a need to these rez skills. To quickly get them back to their feet right? WHAT ABOUT THAT ULTRAMEGAHARD BOSS IN RAID DUNGEONS, MAYBE WE CAN FINALLY USE THESE REZ SKILLS RIGHT?

On second wave of initial defense mission, the biconics won’t come to help on the right side of the assault.

Sometimes when there is no more enemies, Taimi will go on her stand by animation, which is standing atop here golem. The problem is, she doesn’t return back to her golem when another wave of enemy appears, which means she isn’t helping fend of enemies.

After Rytlock’s descent, when we are talking to him, Rox is not following the player character, and instead talking to Rytlock across the fence. Taimi is still in standby mode as well.

Bug: I’m using a charr revenant in the story line, and sometimes the voice over uses another male voice of another race. Also the audio sounded like it’s muffled or something, not as clear as usual, it’s like the microphone was covered in too much foam or something.
