Yesterday I’ve seen the current AP required for each piece of Radiant and Hellfire skins, which are 3000 AP for gloves, 6000 for shoulder pads and 9000 for helmets.
Now, while I hardly agree with the costs, why aren’t we allowed to choose which piece of the armor to get first? Some of us may prefer getting the helm, or the shoulder pads before the gloves.
I suggest to change this before we actually get to the 3000 AP chest.

PvP items from AP chest are random.
Why? Weapons with particle effects are usually the most popular.
The Zenith weapons sure look like they’re made of some sort of crystal. And since we all know that Quartz is a crystal and it is being introduced in this update, it wouldn’t surprise me if the two are actually related.
Maybe just a coincidence, but both have something to do with watches. Zenith, beside being a term for the highest point reached by a celestial body above the place of observation, is also a famous swiss watch manufacture, and quartz is commonly used in the construction of clocks and watches.
Ah, inductive reasoning.
“Because A=B and C=B, A must equal C through relation to B”
English 101, just because said things have some middle ground in common doesnt make them related in any way.
And where have I stated they are somewhat related? I’ve just said I wouldn’t be surprised if they were.
Let’s see… Fireworks, transformation items such as the Dolyak Tincture or the Matlal Enchanted Pig Truffle, some attack items like Ascalon Tomes (those didn’t do much damage but they were indeed cool to use) etc…
Even if they were exploited, this is a very poor way to deal with them. Is it that hard to fix them?

But that way they have also deprived us from using many items that would have been harmless and fun to use in WvW.
In short, why was their use deactivated inside WvW? If it was just the Whispers spy kit then why not deactivating that one alone?
I’ve never read any good reason beyond this choice.
Good suggestion. I’ve seen Bioware forums have a similar function.
Straight from Wikipedia:
Belcher is of French origin (bel ‘good-looking’ + cher ‘dear’); with a different pronunciation, it may also refer to a person who belches, that is, burps.
Therefore, burping game? lol
Is it my impression or is it all people who’s in the leaderboards who is complaining about dailies and monthlies?
The Radiant armor will most likely be the one in the screenshot posted by Rouven.
Well that’s a subtle way of saying “hey, everyone should lose some points so only people like me stay above the threshold!”
Jarate off.
Exactly. There seem to be some people who think dailies and monthlies shouldn’t be awarding achievement points because in their opinion they’re not achievements.
I hope ANet changes the name of points to Activity Points, Reward Points, Arenanet Points or whatever else, so that they stop whining about dailies not being real achievements. Getting real tired of all this needless fuss about who deserves stuff and who doesn’t.
(edited by Hermes.7014)
Why don’t we just leave aside the meaning of the word “achievement” and think of those points another way?
They have never said achievement points will become currency.
new skins from official website its Achiv points. Im hope 10000 =))
Requiring 10000 achievement points? Sure, new content for 5% at best of GW2 playerbase will sure make people happy.
/e-sarcasm
5% is an overstatement. There are around 90 people with +10k achiv points.
So probably even less.
Don’t we have plenty of that simple armor already?
Ever wanted to put that sigil/rune on another weapon type or armor while preserving that skin you really liked? I think this should be made possible through a gem store purchase of an Upgrade Removal Kit with a fair cost of 250-300 gems for a stack of 5.
As the name suggest, it would function like a salvage kit with the exception that only the upgrade is salvaged from the equipment without destroying it.
Perhaps the armor sets of Lady Kasmeer and Marjory Delaqua will also become available, since players demanded so much for them.
Kasmeer’s armor looks like light type while Marjory seems like a medium type. Both are pretty cool for sure anyways.

I’m very much looking forward to this update. Sounds like some good content and a set up for more great content further down the road.
Remove achievement points from dailies and remove these points from total count!
100% sign
Another 100% here.
0% Here. Points are points.
0% Here too. I see no logic in handicapping your ability to gain rewards. It is folly.
p.s. – I also hope also you can choose the reward yourself, rather than having it chosen for you. The latter has not worked so well for me so far.
And 0% here too.
A point is a point and every way used to obtain it is legit.
Let’s stop with the competitive nonsense about AP.
I did all points in all dailies/living stories/events since headstart including that frustrating crap toss and I want to be rewarded for that because it took lots of time and effort.
You can call it elitism or whatever but if you are too lazy to do it before or you bought game too late.. well its not my problem. I want to be rewarded for my effort not punish by you laziness.
I think you are just afraid that people will catch up to you.
The current AP system is broken and dailies is the primary factor for that. Dailies deprive players from catching up to other people no matter how god like skillful they may be. If they missed their dailies they will NEVER be able to catch up. If they are better than you (more skillful) they SHOULD be given the chance and tools to not only catch up to you but to even surpass you. If they are not better than you then you should rightfully have more AP than them.
P.S logging for 20 min a day and jumping all over Kryta for daily does not require any kind of elite skills.
And then again, why being afraid of someonecatching up with AP? It’s not a freaking race!
Let everyone get the points the way they prefer, be it with dailies or with 1000 giants! I don’t really see any problem in it.
Why is everybody taking for granted that you will be actually spending your AP anyways? That won’t happen, so don’t worry about your precious spot on the leaderboards. As I said before, it’ll most likely involve a token system or rather function like the Hall of Monuments.
Everyone should be allowed to get content; the most skilled get it earlier, while the least skilled after longer.
it’s not content. It’s an achievement. I disagree. Good players and players who learn to become good should get achievements which aren’t available to people who have no idea how to play their profession imho.
No one is locked out of content / things to do in the game. It’s just a skin/medal. Do you also think that anyone who competes in a sports-tournament should get the gold medal by just playing long enough? O_o
I smell a player who rarely plays GW2 and/OR refuses to become better by learning/practicing how to play. Portals in Jumping Puzzles?
I play my fair share of GW2 almost every day. And why, yes, today I’ve used portals on my Mesmer to help people get the Aetherblade JP done.
After all, why shouldn’t I help my fellow players? Do we really need to compete over everything? Or need an armor skin to boast our skill in a game?
Some players are just overly competitive that they feel like having to display their superiority over all the rest.
new skins from official website its Achiv points. Im hope 10000 =))
Wait. Will they be bought with achievements points or will they be unlocked with them, like HoM points?
I highly doubt you will be spending AP. Most likely they’ll be translated into a number of tokens or rather give access to each piece ala HoM but you’d still have to use gold to buy them.
As a player around the top 500 NA in achievement points, I absolutely agree that dailies/monthlies shouldn’t count for achievement score. Dailies and monthlies pollute the achievement score with points that really don’t say anything about one’s achievements, but speak more to the volume of hours spent in-game.
This smells like elitism to me, and elitism is bad.
Everyone should be allowed to get content; the most skilled get it earlier, while the least skilled after longer.
Therefore, every achievement point has to count in.

I think it looks cool but really they should start making some ice themed armor too.
Something like the armor of the Son of Svanir woman they later scrapped: http://www.theroundtablet.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/guild-wars-2-norn-svanir.jpg
(edited by Hermes.7014)
No need to remove them. They should just make them appear as locked or rather grey the event achievement window out with a message like “This event is over.”
If I’m not mistaking you could dye them in GW1. They could do the same in GW2.
I would like to suggest this long hairstyle with a fringe for Norn female.
I made this picture by mixing two already existant hairstyles: number 5 and 17, if I remember well. I like the fringe of number 5, but I think it would also fit quite well a longer haircut like that of number 17.
Elaine Silvershadow, my Norn thief. The armor is the closest I could get to the one shown in the artwork. (I’m also aware that the pistols are swapped. The blue one should be in the left hand and vice versa.)
When weapon sets are switched the particle effect on flame weapons (Charr T2 cultural weapons) disappears.
I already reported this bug a few months ago but it seems to be still here.
Sorry to bump this topic, but I guessed the TC would be interested in this.
Apparently somebody ripped the full version of Here be Dragons that plays in-game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7W65hbaBVZI
I believe it’s Scales of Issormir.
I didn’t even know it changed since I’m using a custom playlist.
Somehow my friend got this achievement despite getting hit multiple times either. No idea how that happened if not some kind of bug.
Bye bye shortbow in WvW and PvP I guess.
Now everyone is making assumptions because we haven’t yet seen in which way they’re going to change all the other traits and how they’re going to make “harder to achieve” the most effective builds.
However I’d bet ten bucks Thief is the class going to suffer the most from this update.
Torment to a condition damage Mesmer is a good addition since they have no speed enhancing abilities. An enemy can easily run away from them in WvW.

I was wondering why my mesmer wouldn’t say anything anymore when casting mantras. Also Prayer to Lyssa seems to have been silenced.
He suffers from anterograde amnesia. He keeps forgetting having just asked you and asks you again and again.
The track “Zhaitan” plays during a cutscene related to Orr, while “The Saga of the Norn” plays during the opening playing a Norn character.
You can get the original soundtrack and put the tracks from GW2 that you like in the custom playlists.
the custom playlist lowers the volume for some reason, music i normally have at a certain volume is lower in-game even with music on 100%.
You can work around this by lowering the sound effect volume and keeping music volume high and then turning up your PC audio output volume.
Today these crates are removed from drop tables anyways, right?
Run fraps and record a video of it, once done rip the sound converting the video into an MP3 track and then isolate it with Audacity. It’s quite easy if you know the right tools.
I’ll remember not to buy black lion keys ever again.
Well,RNG is RNG.Hope Anet stops this bad habit.
As long as people pays for keys they won’t.
It’s like you own a casino and somebody tells you “hey, quit making money off people with problem gambling!”, would you quit?
This, of course, doesn’t mean I approve this kind of things. Instead, I too despise it. kitten money.
Apparently low level world boss events are still very much off scale. Many times I participated to those events and there were more than 30 people around, and each time the boss would fall in less than 5 seconds without even having a chance to attack. I’m talking precisely about the champion svanir shaman and the great jungle worm.
With so many people around their health pools must be furtherly increased along their attack power and frequency.
I got one from a random unidentified dye back in october.
Well, it seems like you didn’t look enough. :P
