I’ve seen already a few guilds purposedly going into overflows to avoid AFK players, so you can just hope you can get into their overflows now.
On some servers it’s already dead.
I haven’t given up yet, but surely I’m growing tired of it.
Seafarer’s Rest beat him once and then never again.
Don’t we already have one nature themed armor set for each type (excluding Sylvari cultural) and about three weapon sets (TA, Verdant, Warden) ?
Tequatl’s new roar is pretty much intimidating, but it’s missing one thing I liked from his old version: those ominous whispers you could hear in the background.
Hopefully never.
Go kill some boars or play SAB.^^Nice community your cultivating there, arenanet
Some people want hard content. And it’s frustrating to them when people want to take it away.
And on the other side of the coin, it is frustrating for those who prefer a more relaxed gameplay.
Personally, I’m for the medium difficulty. I simply don’t want content to be a walk in the park, but neither a walk in hell.
Wait until it becomes “ghost town”. People who can’t complete it will eventually get tired of trying and give up on it, gradually decreasing the amount of people participating, thus decreasing chance of success as well.
I’ve noticed that during the Tequatl attack along with Risen there are some uncorrupted Kraits attacking turrets and batteries. Weren’t Risen enemies of every race of Tyria? Why are Krait attacking along with them?
north left, north center, north right…
or use cardinal directions
It’s still way quicker with colours. Left and right also depend on which side of the turrets you are facing.
So that they can be easily told apart from each other and avoid confusion.
There should be icons (similar to that of commanders) with a different colour for each turret, both on screen and on the map.
This way, when one needs support or anything else, people can simple shout “Red turret needs to be repaired!” etc.
If you think that closing guesting is going to fix your overflow problem, let me tell you, you are mistaking.
Nerfing Larcenous Strike, really? “oh Thief’s got something nice once in a while. Let’s do something about it and take it away.”
Seriously, leave it the way it is. It’s already easy enough for boon builds to get their boons up, and sword is the best and perhaps only way for Thieves to deal with them.
Thieves don’t have any traits like “Destruction of the Empowered” so just leave them able to steal boons, aren’t they thieves after all?
He’s not bugged, but the requirements for progress aren’t made clear by the event itself.
You have to defeat a Champion Risen Drake Broodmother nearby, or he’ll be too scared to cross the water.
I’m getting the same issue, especially in highly populated areas. Today I was unable to fight Tequatl because of extreme lag.
I’ve tested my connection using Speedtest and it’s fine, so it’s just GW2.
Claw of Jormag: Its wings are no longer removed when it is “forced out of the sky” using the flak cannons.
The Frozen Maw: When portals are destroyed the “boss defeated” music plays. Subsequently, boss music begins as usual, although it is randomly interrupted by regular battle music under unknown circumstances.
Tequatl the Sunless: Music volume reduces significantly while being close to Tequatl. (Not sure if intended)
Has anyone from Anet confirmed they’ll become craftable anytime soon or is people selling everything out of pure speculation?
I remember that as of November/December 2012, upon the consumption of the item, a bomb shaped object appeared in the hands of your character, and when launched it caused a few bombs(mortar shells) to rain over the target area, much like the skill #5 of the vigil weaponry given to you by Tactician Lystratia to defeat the Champion Risen Giant.
Also, you can see that at the actual state the name makes no sense compared to weapon that results from it. That rifle has nothing to do with “bombardments”.
I’m sure I’m not mistaking because that was probably the first consumable environmental weapon I’ve ever bought. If it was changed intentionally, I’d at least want to know why.
(edited by Hermes.7014)
Once I used this consumable to bring down bombs on a target area, but when I went to check the item had changed. It’s just a single shot rifle with a knockback effect on the enemy. It’s not what it once was. Can it please be reverted back to its original state?
The green patterns on her face and her body say that it’s a Sylvari. A concept artwork is most often something that looks simple and human-like. I’m really curious about that black/olive dragon-like background extending from her dress or is it just a cape? It looks too much dragon-ish to me.
Edit: Meh, after looking closer it could actually be her hand holding a dagger.
Meh, Canach and Scarlet from the same artist look quite different to me.
You know that back slot item is not a reward for killing Tequatl but for completing the current living story arc?
Until anyone defeats Tequatl we don’t know how great or awful might be its rewards.
Hopefully, there’ll be more long hair styles.
She may even be not a Sylvari. To me, at least, she looks more like a human with some kind of shadowy power.
So… much… Electric Guitar…!
You DO people realize that this game takes place between a Medieval and Renaissance period of time...
If you noticed my choices in the first post I avoided obviously electronic music, with the exception of Asura high teck areas, and even then, I avoided cliche songs like metal.
Also, please try to picture the scene with your music in background, and how much tension can each area have in any given moment.
There is a reason I only suggested music for Dungeons because the tension in dungeon-runs is almost always high, so fast music fits well there.
The outside world needs calmer music that at any moment can become fast and loud in case you are engaged in combat or an event!
Especially in Cities! Thankfully none suggested anything extreme here… yet!The fact that another game used this music in a similar environment doesn’t mean that it’ll also fit here.
Out of my four choices, I think there’s only one with barely noticeable electric guitar, which is Soccent Attack. Otherwise, it’s pure orchestral and choir.
I bet they’re going to be called Sunless weapons and their skin will have some kind of corruption particle effect like Tequatl’s poison pools.
We all know Fractal weapons come without any stats on them. But since the “one-time stat selector” has been implemented for ex-magic find equipment, couldn’t it be applied to Fractal weapons as well? Perhaps turning them into actual skins would work too, but I think the option to choose stat sets once would be the quickest way around.
Ah, another TSFH fan, I see. It’s good to see people listening to real music once in a while.
I have nothing against Jeremy Soule. Actually I like much of his work, however while I’m not asking to change it, I do find the soundtrack a little lacking on variety. In short, tracks being recycled too often for different places, thus lessens the uniquity of some zones’ atmosphere.
However, here are some of my choices, actually included in my actual custom playlists:
Character Selection Screen
Music: Excalibur
Artist: Immediate Music
Album: Trailerhead: Triumph
The Shatterer
Music: Soccent Attack
Artist: Steve Jablonsky
Album: Transformers Original Motion Picture Score
Tequatl Rising
Music: The Dark Colossus Destroys All
Artist: Keiichi Okabe
Album: Nier Gestalt and Replicant Original Soundtrack
Underwater (Peaceful waters)
Music: Vigil
Artist: Jack Wall / Sam Hulick
Album: Mass Effect Original Soundtrack
I think music comments for itself, so I guess I don’t need to give it a comment.
Now it’s really late in the night here and I too have to sleep, so I’ll stop with these four for now. I’ll eventually post more in my next free time.

I believe I’m not the only one who thinks the current custom playlists are somewhat limited. Sure, we have Battle, BossBattle, Ambient… but what we really lack here are zone and mode specific playlists.
We can change the Ambient playlist but I’m not sure that cheerful journey song will fit the exploration of the dark and corrupted Orr. That is why we actually need a playlist apart for each area.
Also, a PvP playlist wouldn’t hurt. Right now, SPvP and WvW are using the Battle playlist but it would be good to have a completely different set for PvP instances.
“Scales of Issormir” is the track you’re looking for.
It was too easy! Tribulation Mode complete!

So basically you bought the P2W item and it let you win… SURPRISE!
I find the mode fun and challenging, but complaining about how easy it is after having to buy a P2W item to do it is kind of silly imo.
I like to think they’re just trolling.
I’m afraid you will have to wait.
I thought Anet had explicitly stated that they wanted us to grind events for karma.
The people are just being dramatic.
They want a game L T W ( Log in To Win )
Win what? We just want to be on par.
Team Survival Mode? Like Queen’s Gauntlet for a team?
hum… maybe
Well yes, kind of. But instead of being redirected to the lobby on death, your team has an indefinite number of attempts until the time runs out.
After all, since it’s a 9 months old topic, maybe Queen’s Gauntlet was inspired by this idea. Who knows.
Excuse me as I bump this 9 months old topic, but I have applied a few changes to my original idea (such as turning the boss stars into tiers), which I find even more valid now that ascended weapons have been added.
Opinions?
(edited by Hermes.7014)
Haven’t they said they were also an extremely rare chance drop from whatever drops ascended stuff? (and that counts in fractals)
However that extremely rare chance usually means precursor-grade rarity. Which is not really related to effort but just to luck.
I wish Arenanet would take on my idea of Spires of the Mists I suggested months ago: boss battles with rewards based on effort needed to be completed. The tougher they are, the better are the rewards.
I didn’t have time to even get to scarlet’s dungeon thanks to RL. shrugs
This sure ended abruptly. Was there a notice I didn’t read or something?
Actually, the announcement stated that only the achievements related to Queen’s Jubilee would have ended without specifying that also Clockwork Chaos was going to be removed.
The reason we did the 1 life thing is because we found that lives were not meaningful if you can just pop back in, catch up with your party or die once and catch up with them. Now they are. We also added Continue Coins in each Zone chest, and they are in JP chests as well. And you can buy 5 of them for one Bauble Bubble.
I’ve done multiple JPs and not a single coin dropped from the chests. At least increase their drop rate.
I’d also like if there were custom playlists for each area. That would be much ore useful instead of just “Ambient”.
Why wouldn’t the game recognize which skin you have on? Of course it does. You will probably get the last weapon you transmuted on, along the actual skin’s first version as an item.
Or at least for the tier champions. Really, they are like solo bosses but yet, no background music to accompany the fights? In my opinion a track like Raven Speaks in background as I fought Liadri would not only have made the fight more epic, but even less frustrating during the countless tries.
So next time the gauntlet returns, please add music!
I think they just forgot about events scaling when they designed the new Tequatl.
My warrior wearing:
Zephyrite Wind Helm
Radiant Mantle
Draconic Coat
Radiant Vanbraces
Armageddon Leggings
Draconic Boots
I wanted her to be shining so I added a sun catcher and zenith weapons.
crafting is a form of progression.
every other MMO out there has great icentives for lvling up crafting
WoW for example lets u craft gear that is the same tier as the current raid. and lets u sell to players.
its about time u had crafting so you can be self sufficant and start learning how mmos work.
In all other MMOs I played, the stuff you crafted at least could be traded.
So much for “Play the way you want”. I’m really hoping they’ll introduce more ways to obtain ascended weapons in the near future, otherwise it’s going to be nasty.
And hell, if they really don’t want to give us other means to obtain them, then at least make all ascended mats and weapons tradable. Enough with this account bound nonsense. Not even legendaries are account bound.
The “purpose” of ascended gear..
Well, to make an analogy… I own an Audi A3.
This car can drive me just about anywhere I want efficiently, I even won a couple rally tournaments with it.
But I could buy a Lamborghini, it would get me there faster and I could partecipate more competitive stuff, as well as having more chances to win tournaments (well, maybe not rally ones hehe). If Lamborghini’s didn’t exist everyone would buy an A3 which goes somewhat cheap (30k euro here), and then sit back complaining they have nothing to work for, philosophizing about stuff and finally realizing we’re in a society of new-age slavery where money is your new chains.
And then we’d start a revolution against corporates and governments. That’s why they made Lamborghinis, and Arena Net makes Ascended Gear.
So we stop thinking and rebelling, and instead spend our lives running on a hamster wheel.
But in real life a thief can steal a Lamborghini. In game a thief can’t steal an ascended greatsword.
I have to agree with TC.
This is in fact what kittens me off the most. I never crafted in any MMO, I never liked crafting and never will. I’d rather gather 10 thousand tokens from dungeons than having to craft.
Then not only you are forced to craft those weapons, but you can’t even have somebody else craft them for you because they had the great idea of making materials account bound.
And this is not skins anymore, but actually more powerful gear, so it’s a whole different kettle of fish.
Oh, and “very rarely” means that it happens once in a blue moon. Have fun with that.
The real purpose of ascended weapons is to kitten up the balance of the game.
No, turning it off would be a sacrilege to me. The music adds alot to the atmosphere actually. I did, however, add some of my favourite tracks through custom playlists.
If I could have a soundtrack in real life, I would.
