Just added a Mask of the Wanderer to my warrior’s Corrupted Ice set. It’s even on the right side, just like the shoulder pads, the gauntlet and the corrupted axe, so I think it does excellently.
I was the one, or one of those, who suggested such tool, albeit not for such a high price.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Gem-Store-Upgrade-Removal-Kit/first#post2340343
While the price I suggested might have been perhaps too low, the current seems way too off compared to black lion salvage kits, or runes and most exotics.
Imho not really worth the amount, unless you want to remove an upgrade from legendary or ascended… but that too is questionable.

I’d say Skelk Venom is best used on a Venom support build. I’m running a build of this type right now and so far I have tested it only in small WvW roaming groups and it did quite well at keeping alive the people around. Tomorrow I will test it in Fractals.
On any other build, however, all the other healing skills seem like a better choice.
They seem to have been thought specifically in favor of the viability of some of the less common builds.
Well, they’re certainly way better than the flawed Anti-Toxin Spray which wasn’t really worth those 25 skill points, perhaps not even 10.
They already have Mistlock Instabilities for above 50. Although they are probably not implemented yet.
http://dulfy.net/2013/11/26/gw2-mistlock-instabilities/
Ah, I see. I haven’t checked Dulfy’s website for a while so I might have missed that.
I just noticed this. I missed the volcanic fractal as well. :/
So I thought, why don’t we give Arenanet some ideas about the Mistlock Instabilities to come once the cap on level 50 is raised? Possibilities are virtually endless!
I’ll begin with a few of mine from 51 to 60, some could prove to be even funny…
51 – Berserk Rage – You are driven into blind rage. (You attack for double damage but also take double damage from enemies.)
52 – Charley Horse – Moving is quite painful. (You are constantly afflicted with Torment.)
53 – Friendly Fire – Better watch who you’re aiming at. (Area attacks damage both allies and enemies.)
54 – Weary Eyes – Your vision is often impaired. (Randomly affected by Blind condition while the screen also becomes darkened for a short period of time.)
55 – Hallucinating Voyage – An hallucination-inducing toxic mist plagues your travels. (Often affected by Toxin with consequent hallucinating effects, while enemies look randomly outsized, either much larger or much smaller.)
56 – Mystery Boxes – What could be inside the box? (Boxes are placed throughout the fractals. Opening them has chances to:
- Spawn a loot box containing rare/exotic/small chance of ascended.
- Spawn a loot bag.
- Spawn multiple elite enemies.
- Spawn a champion enemy.
- Inflict Agony on the group.
- Spawn a bomb that explodes immediately for heavy area damage.
57 – Terrifying Expedition – Everything looks quite scary to your eyes. (You are randomly stricken with fear.)
58 – Crimson Weed – Scarlet Briar stalks you through the fractals. (Because we can never have enough Scarlet, right? I admit this plays on the recent hate for her developed by the community.)
59 – Chronic Fatigue – Dodging has never been so hard. (Endurance regeneration is greatly reduced.)
60 – Concealing Darkness – Fractals seem darker than usual, while you are stalked by ominous Visions of Mortality. (This basically takes away much of the ambient light from all Fractals, hindering field of view, and also adds Visions of Mortality which slowly stalk players and explode on contact. …Does this ring any bells? If you played the Queen’s Gauntlet to the last stage, I’m sure it does! Although if they oneshot they might make the fractal perhaps a bit too hard, so I guess they could just make them hit for mid-heavy damage.)

Beside There with Yakkington and Quiver of a Thousand Arrows which have selectable stats, it is actually the only originally Apothecary stat Ascended back piece, but unlike other Ascended it cannot be infused, and this hinders its usefulness.
With the recent changes on Fractals, more Agony Resistance is required, hence wouldn’t it be fair to either automatically turn the Ascended version into infused, or add a Mystic Forge recipe? Otherwise, it would just a waste of gold to make it ascended.

I don’t care. I see them as something only for achievement hunters, which I am not. The only ones I have are those of events.
I don’t think the link is working the way it’s supposed to. I get to the Soundcloud homepage when I click on it.
They should tell us every time they make such changes, even minor, instead of going “let’s hope nobody notices it while everyone’s doing living story achievements”.
Oh, dear. I wish this achievement didn’t remind me of Miley Cyrus every time I look at the tab.
Basically everyone just wait at the platform for someone to be the man.
lol yeah, I wish there was a toxic krait instead of Tixx there to say “Prepare for sacrifice!”
“Play how you want”
You, sir, have won.
Anyways, I have misheard quite a few phrases, but so far I remember only these:
Human female getting Retaliation: “Aim for pain!”
Asura male getting Swiftness: “Exhilarating!”
Norn bleeding: “Using blood!”
Sylvari male ressed: “I needed to die” and “My pain is easy”
(edited by Hermes.7014)
Thing is that this achievement was there last year as well, and I don’t remember having problems with it at all. That’s why I thought somethineg could be wrong with it this time around.
Just what do you exactly have to do to get this? I never died and killed as many toys as I could (over 110), yet after one instance of Toypocalypse I got only one survived wave? What gives?
(edited by Hermes.7014)
Logically, those who hadn’t completed last year’s Wintersday should had gotten Apprentice Toymaker now, while those who had should had obtained Journeyman Toymaker.
I like them, but 500? ugh… hope the items themselves are at least TP ready.
They could create a nice economy with high lvl crafters, though they would have to reveamp the whole system
I bet they’ll be account bound kitten like everything else that is ascended.
Readers may like or not a character, but they can’t expect to tell authors how to write their books.
GW2 story is not some fanfic. Here in the real world, there are many people involved in the creative process, the most important of which are the people who are giving you money. Games, and the vast majority of books as well for that matter, are written for people, not the author’s self-gratification, so you can be damn sure that we can expect to tell the author how to write the story. Criticism is the only way both sides can profit, the only bad thing you can do for an author is to say nothing.
Indeed, although “I don’t like the character because she’s always around and it annoys me” isn’t criticism, it is personal opinion.
So as long as it’s opinion sharing, then fair and square, but if the authors have a significant role for her (in this case, main antagonist of this living story arc), you cannot expect for them to say “oh people don’t like Scarlet so kill her off and start over”. Allow them to tell their story. If they have seen people didn’t like the character, they’ll learn from it and make sure they will refrain from using characters with similar attitudes in future.
So, people can wish as much as they want to see her dead, but surely that won’t happen until authors decide when it’s time to end her story arc. Those who hate her are going to bear with it, or simply ignore the living story.
They should also add a choice of infinite toy tonics to it.
So after Ascended what’s to come? Divine?
Readers may like or not a character, but they can’t expect to tell authors how to write their books.
Just like with weapons, none.
I don’t like crafting, in any MMO.
Oh dear, I hope the dreaded toypocalypse achievements aren’t returning.
My Mesmer likes her new deathly armor set.
I’ve found another during the battle versus the Molten Bruiser and Firestorm: if you go near the bridge that led your party to the arena, you will trigger again the long duration “entering” agony. This should not happen.
And yet more forced crafting upon us. Thanks Arenanet, you’re officially making this game boring for me.
Why a piece of armor again? Why don’t they just release the whole set:
http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080405071131/gw/images/a/a6/Avatar_of_Grenth_concept_art.jpg
I would love to have the whole set on my necro.
Would look rather ridiculous with Norn, Charr, Sylvari and Asura running around looking like one of them Human gods.
I have a Norn and she’s wearing a Grenth’s Hood now. Problem?
Oh man, gold to gem exchange rates are so going to skyrocket… unless this promotion requires gems bought only through cash. If that’s the case then it might even balance things a bit…
I mean you know how good an idea this is?
without any evidence, research, or computing you managed to come up with a business model that would certainly make millions without any fail! you should go to every forum and post this marvelous idea just in case that devs all around the world have never heard of the popular DC Universe Online
Ah, of course! And why not removing the whole gold to gems exchange system since we are there? Maybe also raise the price of gems a tad more. After all, players will just mindlessly buy anything in order to feel exclusive.
Well, that sure sounds like a flawless plan that would bring much more money onto their pockets. You can almost hear the wonderful sound of the coins ringing, right?
But perhaps you should first inform yourself about a developer company named Capcom, and how their greed is driving it to bankruptcy.
Give out a service while making money is sure their goal, but an unhappy customer base might generate a much less desiderable outcome.

Sometimes on special occasions they make gem store promotions adding back for a short time old items. I guess you’ll have to wait and see…
It’s possible that the section we play inside the Fractal isn’t accessible anymore in the world map.
The open world version of the Thaumanova Reactor is much smaller than the Infinite Coil Reactor, which actually replaced the Thaumanova facility. This leads to think that an important part of it is missing, perhaps cut off on the inexplorable left side of the map or totally ripped out from reality when the outburst of chaos magic happened.
After all, remember what the Asura outside today’s Thaumanova says: “When the reactor blew the world’s fabric turned inside out. Some things will never be the same.”

Today I’ve ran into a weird bug during the final encounter with the Archdiviner in the Cliffside fractal: I was on my Warrior and I’ve got imprisoned in a cage in the same moment as I was picking up a banner. After that I couldn’t attack, ress or use utility skills anymore except for Shouts. Tried changing weapons, or using items like the Choir Bell but only accessing the next fractal fixed the issue.
Fault falls upon Scarlet’s repetitive actions: mess things up with Aetherblades and creating alliances of enemies.
From a writer’s point of view, I see this chain of events just as the preparations for greater things to happen. After all, she’s just begun to show an insterest to Elder Dragons… and I can already imagine where this may take.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what Arenanet’s writers have been preparing up their sleeves.
Two words: Skin Wardrobe.
DC Universe Online has one. It’s a free to play MMO with an in-game store option just like GW2 minus the Buy-To-Play part, and it doesn’t look like they’re having financial problems.
How about going that route as well, guys of NCSoft and Arenanet developers?
Oh, and when you change gold to get gems, you are paying with your time spent gathering that gold. And you know what they say, time is money.
Of course, you could have gotten lucky with precursor drop to sell, but even in real life you can get lucky and win a lottery prize.
(edited by Hermes.7014)
Fought Tequatl V2 almost every day since release. Never got a single Ascended drop, let alone its exclusive skin or mini… while I’ve seen people randomly fighting it once and getting a weapon with stats they didn’t even need.
If that’s not trolling I don’t know what it is.
1. – Icebrood themed armor skins
2. – Branded themed weapon/armor skins
3. – Tight medium armor
Just thought it might help the Devs to look at classes with the most feedback for future patches.
Elementalist – 21 pages
Engineer – 11 pages
Guardian – 10 pages
Mesmer – 10 pages
Necromancer – 15 pages
Ranger – 19 pages
Thief – 17 pages
Warrior – 6 pagesIt may not be the best way to compare class issues but here is a very simple count of pages from each class forum for the thread titled Dec 10th patch with a Dev comment. IMO there were sweeping changes to Elementalist and Thief, which may explain the number of pages. There are is an obvious gap with half the classes from this comparison.
Any chance we can get some statistics for number of people playing, classes played, hours played (by class and region (pve/spvp/wvw) for a couple weeks before and after Dec 10th?
Warrior only 6 pages – Im wondering why!? :P
Maybe Warriors are satisfied with their class while others are less.
Why a Charr would wear a mask/hood based on a human god o_O?
Please, guys, do not begin with the human exclusivity crap…
The one in the picture was designed by Kekai Kotaki, I believe it makes a good example.
We also need more tight medium armor since we already have heaps of coats, like catsuits ala G.I. Joe’s Baroness.
(edited by Hermes.7014)
I don’t care if it’s uglier as long as cultural armor is given the respect it deserves.
I rolled a human for cultural armor, and I expect to be the only race allowed to use it.
It’s because of people like you that we all can’t have nice things.
ANet should just lift the restrictions on the existing cultural armors and then remake these three into something more worthwhile. Everybody wins.
And then we’ll have the same argument about not being unique anymore… when there are a million other ways to give your character uniqueness.
Charr wearing Grenth hood. snickers
Sometimes I wish ArenaNet just went with the concept to only play Human in Guild Wars 2.
Sometimes I wish there was no stupid racial exclusivity of cultural equipment.
Meh… I wished it was the beginning of a series of cultural-like armor sets for all races and instead it gets changed…
If you must, then I suggest to use this as base skin for the next: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stately_armor
Just to be on par with medium and heavy skins.
(edited by Hermes.7014)
What I really want is a reskin of a Charr T3 heavy armor so I can use it on a Norn.
Don’t worry, with the gold to gem exchange rate rising quickly it’ll take no time before it reaches and surpasses 100 gold for 800 gems. So rest assured, it won’t be much longer before it reaches the cost of your hard earned cultural.
Hopefully no more toypocalypse though, while fun at first it got pretty irritating later.
It will hurt to see other races than humans wearing the Grenth hood.
I can already feel the heat of the burning hatred.
I agree with this. It’s better to get rid of hardest ones before the easiest. Less frustrating.
