That channeled AoE would still be an aimed skill that is stationary.

I was laughing about this thread last night because I fought a guy who thought he was a PU mesmer, with mine. The build is not responsible for one guy or the other getting owned. Ok, I should say I’m not totally using Osicat’s ideas. I’m also playing with the interrupt traits a bit, but still, this guy didn’t understand certain facts about PU.
He didn’t stand still when visible. He used a bunch of skills when visible rather than just auto-attack, and he was clearly freaked right out about getting interrupted. You dodge when you’re in stealth, not when you’re freaked out. He didn’t change weapon sets once, staying with sword/torch, one one of the worst phantasms we have.
A good PU mesmer need discipline to play it, and needs to bug out when he’s getting bullied. The OP here hasn’t got a clue what he’s talking about.
So you want a DPS contest to feed your internets boss syndrome?
Necro minions do that too. Why have clones if the pet/minion AI ignores them?
Other points? My usually broken phantasms, lack of speed, lack of… Oh, nvm.

I have an Ascended Celestial set on my mesmer but only because I am/was/still plan to only ever make one set of ascended armor. The set is not working as well as I would like in WvW, but I don’t have to carry around and change up sets for everything I do in-game.
I can play WvW. I’m not a rally bot, but I know I could be a lot more effective with a PVT setup.
Only bosses in FoTM use Agony. Players have no skills that cause Agony.
I bet that wouldn’t take long to change.

Timberlines falls has a river running through it that apparently comes from snow melt, from the Far Shiverpeaks. It’s fresh water, but there is coral there, and fish that would only normally be found in salt water oceans.
The really weird part about this is the name of one of the areas on that map, NAUI Waters. NAUI is The National Association of Underwater Instructors, so I would assume that someone on the dev team would have a clue about what actually lives in what types of water.

I started this thread to point out that we got interrupted yet again for something that should have been solved before or long after the EU WvW Reset time. ANet has a history of interrupting the EU WvW reset for non-problems. They don’t give a kitten about us. We’re WvW players, and we’re in Europe.
If ranger spirits or mesmer phantasms are the biggest problems sPvP has, I suggest you get more involved in those profession threads.
Aww you got kicked out of wvw for 5 mins while they fixed a major spvp bug on the eve of arguably the most important spvp tourney in GW2’s history.
WVW is also right in the middle of the second tourney we’ve ever had, and there are a whole lot more people (customers) involved here, than in any sPvP activity.
You must have a hard life.
The roughest part will be when my wife also retires at the end of this year. I’ve had it good here for the last couple of years.
It wasn’t minor, spirit weapon guardians/phantasm mesmers crushing tank builds.
Would you like to hear about a few mesmer skills that have been bugged for months? I’m talking about core phantasm related skills, because that’s where a LOT of our damage is supposed to be.
No, probably not, but maybe, just maybe… Anet is finally looking at some of those bugs.

I guess we WvW players know where we stand.
I put down my own harvesting banner and couldn’t even reliably get my own characters to the banner for the buff. This megaserver system is not working.
Not really. The server I play on let themselves float into the EU Silver league and we’re mostly getting wiped. That’s not much fun so I’m playing less WvW at the moment, at least on the normal maps. I’ve been doing some karma farming on EoTM in the mean time, usually with my main.

I’m not enjoying any of this megaserver stuff either. The idea was fine, in that players from servers, guilds, parties would be moved to the same instances but in practice that simply isn’t happening. The fact that language issues are happening is proof of that.
These days the very few times I regularly run into non-guildies from my server is in the WvW maps, and it’s even been more common on EoTM than it is on the PvE maps.
In all fairness to players on the EoTM map, it’s been horribly lopsided during the tourney. I love playing my mesmer there to to push/pull players off bridges but even I’ve been backing away when the Overgrowth blob is coming across a bridge.
And yeah, as a train goes it really can’t be beat by anything in PvE these days.
Now then, about the the rewards for lower ranked servers in each league…
It’s not a mystery at all if you do a bit of googling, and yeah mesmers are seeing this too.
Seems like an interesting new build, but I just can’t wrap my head around the lack of mobility. Sure you have blink and staff on low cd, but after using travelers for so long it seems like roaming would just be painful.
I’m with you. This looks like a great idea, if we had a signet or trait for 25% speed. I’m not giving up my Traveler runes cuz I can’t stand plodding along.
I never started spending money on the other MMO’s out there, but I only ever bought this game too. I haven’t spent 10 cents on the cash shop, just game gold. Doesn’t matter, I’m still looking for something else, and at times that means “anything else”, including a couple of cute little Flash based Tower Defense games that I like.

I completely agree, but I would prefer to use these ideas to make a bit of gold before the word gets out. The other problem of course, is that Anet tends to nerf any gold-making ideas right into the ground. So let’s not be totally altruistic about this…

Every single time the dev used to give updates in this WvW forum, the players in here gave more negative posts than positive ones.
That was because most of those updates were things that we players simply don’t want, or didn’t ask for, or the update was really poorly handled.
Bloodlust in the borderland and the ruins is one good example. The WvW Season 1 tourney with the transfer bandwagon and poor rewards is another good example. Toxic mobs in WvW? There’s another update that we players simply did not want, and now there are even more PvE mechanics in the EoTM map. We’ve got WvW Season 2 tourney going on now with the same transfer and bandwagon problems that we had in the first season, and the rewards aren’t very well thought out this time either.
All of this has been going on while things that we players have been asking for since day 1 are being ignored.
We don’t know if the final decisions on these things were made by the Devs who post/posted here, but those were the guys who took the brunt of our complaints, particularly Devon Carver. I almost feel sorry for that guy, particularly if the final decisions where not his, but how long can a gaming company go on producing material that the players simply don’t want?
Long weekends have always been popular with gold sellers. Game mods aren’t around to ban their accounts, so they rush it while they can.
Block and Report and I’m sure they’ll all be taken care of on Tuesday.
I see this completely different from the OP. I’m actually surprised that people can still be bothered to provide any feedback here, considering how little of it is ever acted on.

I’m pretty sure that people that set down lot of sieges (specially commanders) have a use for them…
We used to have a big spender achievement every second day where you had to spend at least 25 badges. I did that regularly, and sent the rams to who ever was commanding for the day. I still have thousands of them.

If the rewards must be inequal, then they are the incentive to win and actually do your best in WvW.
The only “incentive” here is to pay for a server transfer.
Do you remember back in the 8th grade when you had a class science project to do, and the smartest kid in the class was put in charge? He didn’t want your ideas, or help, and no you don’t get to know what we’re doing for the class science project.
That’s the current reality of GW2 WvW. What the future holds? We don’t know.

Are you positive the maps you were on were megaserver enabled? Some maps still do NOT have it yet.
If it was overflow? It would say “overflow”. They were on two different maps, therefore it is a megaserver map.

There are too many currencies in GW2, but Badges of Honor is probably the only one that Anet actually regrets. They are needed for one of the Legendary gifts and a long time in a universe far, far away…. PvE players actually had to bone up and play a bit of PvP, or suffer their way through a jumping puzzle, just to get a Legendary weapon.
That was so awful… that Anet started handing out Badges of Honor in the Achievement point chests. I ask you! Where is the honor in that?
These days there is absolutely no point to these Badges. Anyone who plays WvW regularly has thousands of them, and no need for any of the things you can purchase with them.
Don’t get me wrong, me server will probably be above 300 anyway but rewarding players for stacking on high pop servers while others can’t even afford a single skin after 2 months of hard work would seem a bit off.
But that’s exactly what’s going to happen. You’ll only get one of these if your server is placed 5th or better. Anet and their reward system.
Really makes you want to play… anything else.
We were given a new skill that was fairly good. Too good really, at least for some Dev playing on his thief, and he suddenly couldn’t just own anyone he liked.
They didn’t even let us keep this skill long enough to even suggest that thieves could work on their game a bit.
At the same there is quite a list of known bugged skills that are still bugged, but this one got first class priority on a 4 day long weekend (because the thieves were affected).
