Don’t mess with the food.
+/- duration food allows for people to better plan strategy. This game lacks that already and removing more of it is a bad idea.
Really. The ideas behind the foods are awesome and supports build diversity. Anet says they want build diversity, despite blowing up some pretty useful rune sets.
Be careful what you guys wish for. We don’t need more EotM karma train maps.
Yep. This. I’ve been riding the karma train for several weeks now as I try to finally finish my Legendary. I got it today and it was sure nice to go back to owning a tower in EB, keeping it repaired, sieged up and supplied.
Still, it’s awfully nice to see a red post, giving some clear answers.
decay timer should
be 30mins maxnot exist
FTFY
Like other people said, how to get rid of troll siege if there isnt a decay timer?
Banhammer equipped with a sigil of Trolls.
Nah Bloin, you forgot that you can’t farm cloth. You have to salvage drops for cloth.
You can farm ore and wood until you’re blue in the face. Trust me, I am blue in the face because that’s what I’ve been doing so that I can buy the last few bits that I need for my Sunrise.
The price difference between ascended cloth, leather, metal and wood is a reflection on the fact that drop rates for leather items is quite high, and you can farm ore and wood.
Cloth drop rates suck by comparison, even silk.
Even adding the Laurel system and the recent focusing on…
The laurels. If I had known in advance about that? Pffffffuuuuiiii……
The mystic coin as a daily reward is and was just fine. Nobody complained about it because it was at least useful for some really nice looking stuff, and it is tradeable.
Why couldn’t we have a mystic coin vendor who sells all the cool stuff the laurel vendor sells? Although I admit that the prices might have to be different because the coins are tradeable. So what?
Why did they have to add yet another currency to the game? And why do they keep doing that? Over and over again? Yet another currency has become a crutch.
Wow. You actually expect Anet to stick to some kind of guiding principles, or concepts?
I can tell you weren’t here for the pre-release marketing hype. You would have heard some really good ones back then. There were concepts like “horizontal progress” and statements like “Anet doesn’t make grindy games”.
Why, I could just slap my knee over how well we all got taken in by those things.
(edited by Herr der Friedhoefe.2490)
I can’t remember the last time I met a solo ele, roaming.
There is probably a reason for that.
If you’ve got a guildie with an artificer, I’m pretty much certain you can trade him your +1’s and some gold for the thermocatalytic goldsink. He can send back the +5.
Because bobbles have everything to do with might and magic, and guilds and wars.
/sarcasm
I think people are complaining because it is getting “harder” because price is rising.
Of course it’s getting harder. Anet nerfed the Champion trains into the ground and the mats aren’t getting into the trading post now. Along with that, a lot of players have quit recently so that farming isn’t happening either.
This whole business about getting a legendary is turning into a tail chase of “don’t have, and can’t get”. It’s not a wonder there have been so many topics on this lately.
On the other hand, I ended up in some world events where most participants were from one guild. If you’re trying to recruit, open events like what Sola described would be great ways to both screen prospects and start up conversations.
For example: “Hey, you did pretty well in that event; would you like to come along on this mission for so-and-so’s Personal Story? We could use another Elementalist.”
You make a great statement, but I would suggest those open events for recruiting worked a lot better before megaservers. Our guild prefers to recruit players from our own server because we do play some WvW together. Guild members on other servers could get hurt like that.
How long until school starts up again? Geez…
Where is the minus button?
The OP has a legitimate comment. I’m on my 5th guild in 1.5 years, and we’re facing the same problem again. It’s the same 30 players or so, showing up regularly but doing diverse things.
We all contribute to a set of buffs and share them according to the weekly rhyme and routine, but we rarely play together except for some WvW at reset and over the weekend.
That’s 30 players out of 170, again. Many of them have not been seen for over 4 months and there is a reason for that.
Constant buffs and regular guild missions are 2 of the most important. Otherwise, a range of daily activities that appeal to various members. In short, make it easy for them to do stuff like run dungeons, and make sure they get that bit extra in rewards for doing them.
(stuff Anet should be doing, but…)
Please go play sPvP if you don’t want to see foods and nourishment in your PvP experience. They add complexity to WvW and that’s just fine by me.
GvGvSupACTrolls, along with all the usual ktrain players who don’t read this forum.
That should make for some interesting map chat.
Have you see what happens in EotM? I can rack up 3k+ badges in a matter of hours, can you imagine what happens to the economy if your suggestion gets carried through?
Yup, prices on ectos and other mats might get reasonable again. The idea would give value to my pile of badges too. Not a bad thing at all, imo.
If someone has a complete set of ascended armor and weapons and it’s nerfed to the point of being unusable then I could sympathize.
So, my mesmer in Celestial gear wins your sympathy. Great.
There’s a reason you don’t hold a job that requires any kind of decision making…PLEASE PEOPLE, stop trying to ruin this game for the rest of us who are sane!
This thread is exactly the proof I need to claim again that monetizing the story at all, is a step in the wrong direction. What the OP here is suggesting is nothing more or less than a subscription, which I will never pay for a game.
I would uninstall.
Its an interesting idea, Could cause some problems for those who don’t like big guilds and things.
Might be interesting when
they add new ways to get precursorspigs fly, like the guild can work together to produce them, granted it would have to take a long long long time to preserve the market.I do like this though +1.

A legendary weapon isn’t PvE specific but it is a goal that can’t be achieved in WvW. People are leeching WvW because they want one? And it will be my only one, a year and a half into the game.
I don’t make superiors because I need those mats for ascended crafting.
As I said pve leech
I’m not leeching anything asswipe. I’m trying to make a legendary. Selling ascended crafting mats is still somewhat profitable. One of the very few things in this game that is still profitable.
Back on topic. It would be very nice to get some value out of these badges.
Little off topic, but how does one “convert” karma to gold?
The only reliable way I’ve seen to convert Karma to gold is to visit a heart in Bloodtide Coast, the npc is Bram Dawnrazer.
This. On average it’s 10s per 1k karma.
(edited by Herr der Friedhoefe.2490)
You must thrive on EoTM, lol
Lately, yes. Karma to gold is one of the few stable sources of gold these days.
no serious wvw player has more than 1,000 boh because any serious player would be spending them on siege, upgrading it to superior and either using it themselves or giving it to a commander or scout.
Anyone who has more than 1,000 boh and is wanting skins etc. for their badges is a selfish pve leech and has no room being in wvw.
Garbage comment is garbage. I have 12k badges after spending them quite liberally for siege and giving them to commanders. I don’t make superiors because I need those mats for ascended crafting.
Preach it Brother! I’m in your boat and fed up to my eyeballs trying to get the T6 mats. I am sooooo….. close, but it’s still going to be at least a month of farming for mats, karma training in EoTM and generally trying to breath in, and breath out when I get a little angry about this situation.
Anet doesn’t make grindy games. Yeah, right.

I like that they are going to make this material permanent but I’m really not impressed that the story line is monetized in any way. In my opinion that is a step in the wrong direction.
If you remeber to just login it does not cost a thing. Only players that bought the game after these releases will have an issue. And 200 are even easily made with gold too if you are an 80 LvL player…So as far as monetizing is concerned its pretty friendly..
If you’re at home and not on vacation, it does not cost a thing. Returning players will be kitten outta luck, and will have to pony up to play. That wont exactly encourage players to return. Like I said, it’s a step in the wrong direction.
Whether or not the price is “friendly” is debatable. I would note that game gold to gem prices have never gone down.
In all it’s not a bad idea, but there is a fly in the soup.

To be fair, there was no mention of Gem exchange to Gold in last week’s Gem Store announcement. So, it’s not been every time.

I’ve crashed twice today, same error code, but it’s not like every few minutes.
Same error code this morning. Didn’t watch how long it took. I just loaded up the game and went did my morning routine around the apartment. Came back, same error code.
Whateverish.

Sorry, I’m affected by the disconnect bug and I’m in no mood to go testing anything.
Did anyone here notice anything.
I’m back from class and in-game now for 10 minutes, a new record since the patch, but I’m not going anywhere because I still don’t have guild communications even after re-representing. Many of our guildies are showing as being in unknown locations. I have no buffs and can’t change them, and can’t change the MoTD despite being an officer.
These might be unrelated to the server disconnections, but all in all I’m going to pack this in for the night and go enjoy a glass of wine.
I’m noticing the roll backs too. I moved between two crafting stations and after a DC, I was back at the first one. That’s going to make doing anything at all, rather difficult.
Wubbendubbers. These are the priorities at Anet… ><
By the way, OP wasn’t being sarcastic. This quest gives access to a nifty little consumable.
Is this where the harpy pheromone comes from?
Hope there is a stealth fix to iWarden among other bugs.
Given the history here, we should probably go looking for stealth bugs first.
Same error message code?

Any suggestions?
30 Flesh Golems can melt gates. But any actual group defense can wipe ’em.
What is this “group defense” that you speak of? It must be a gold league thing, because I’ve never seen it Silver or Bronze leagues.
Eh no big deal, Ring of Fire can’t get much with 250 tickets anyway.
Yeah, same. I wasn’t planning to spend them anyway because I don’t have enough for the shiny. Still, it’s awfully annoying to see the same question in map chat every ten minutes.
There needs to be a guild MoTD pop up on login, and the devs should have one too.
Oh, we can complain. I just don’t really expect anything to come of it.
This. No matter what might be said on any Ready Up, Anet and NCSoft want us to pay for server transfers. It’s how they make their money, so they dangle the carrot in front of a few servers and profit from silly players who seem to like Q-times on overloaded servers.
I want my 10 minutes back.
From the Ready Up going on right now….
The vendor will be the Battle Historian in the Citadels, on June 3.
If I had your luck, I wouldn’t need mind.
Have fun making decisions.
There was a champion reef skelk on Southsun that was degraded to elite too. This wasn’t just about the Champ trains, it was about loot in general, and it was yet another loot nerf.
You watch, EoTM will be next. Run it while you can Bobs and Gorillas!
I recently watched a Moa kill a Risen Drake solo.
You might want to think about that profession again.
It makes better sense to me that this will be used in Cooking. You pointed out that the Electrum item uses jeweling mats and every craft so far has some basic time gated ascended mats to the slow the process down.
But we won’t know for sure until Anet says something, anything and they aren’t talking much lately.
Already said it back when these CD threads started.
Nothing but a PR trick to make people think that Arena Net is actually listening.
The best bit is that people fell for it, even after Devon Carver posted that none of these ideas would become a work order. In other words, we can yack all we want about what we would like to see, but it isn’t going to happen.
Too funny. I just logged into the Pavilion to maybe grab a few tokens and give this whole thing a second chance. There’s nobody there.
Anet, you never get a 2nd chance to make a 1st impression.
