This way I wont have to wake up old post, so I am supposed to just copy and past every thing I posted in the past in to a new thread.
Yup and then they’ll remove the post anyway.
Welcome to the WvW forums, where Everything Is Awesome!
You need to use the word exciting in there somewhere!
lol why would they put a green dot on map for miniature… That is so confusing.
Those trolls…
I was planning to do just exactly that.
People already assume green is winning, resulting green people go there more often, than red and blue, that do not want to get farmed.
This, pretty much. I’ve been playing red for the last 3 weeks and I can’t believe the nuubcake commanders we’ve had recently. One guy asked yesterday, “how do we portal a mesmer into a tower?” He had his Lion’s Arch PvE tag on.
The good ones have long gotten tired of being farmed when we’re outnumbered, and that’s almost all the time these days.
It used to be that you needed good map awareness and a coordinated group just to play in regular WvW. Now you need the same just to karma train in EoTM. Red and Blue don’t have the numbers or motivated commanders for it.

LOL! Yeah, Anet doesn’t want you to play the game your way.
Anet wants to drag us through every single part of the game, whether we like those things or not.
I’m mostly a WvW player so I’ll limit my one comment to that.
Is that it? Seriously?
I’ll laugh if everyone buying them are just speculators and the prices crash.
Call me in a month.
I’m putting a gold or two into Mini’s, because I can see them going up in price the next few days.
One word. Tequatl.
Feature patches were confusing to the new players, so they won’t be publishing week 3 posts.
A couple of them were a little scary too, like the price on the commander tags.
Anet claimed they made the change to encourage more experimentation and build diversity, but it seems like such a backward way to go about it: limiting options to encourage diversity.
Unfortunately they do a lot of that. Tell us one thing, then do something else. They want build diversity? Then why destroy the boon duration rune combos? Why reduce and rename a major damage component that actually supported non-zerker builds.
This trait chase is just another example, and it’s directly against the original design of the game. I can see it, if we were chasing down new skills, or elites but this setup is awful for new players and a lot of altoholics aren’t happy either.
I wont be making any new character.
Congratulations on writing the most insulting post that I didn’t write!
But, no. I’ll stick with my server when I play WvW. Thanks.
I can’t be the only one getting sick and tired of these QQ threads.
I’m not. This has been a long time building.
Ring of Fire had the same situation for weeks as well. We’ve lost a lot of players because of it.
[PWNY] are the reason I no longer claim and build keeps for RoF.
Hype train finally derails. Buying more popcorn!
Is there any hope you can give for the value of Badges of Honor?
I mean, they’ve got to be worth something even if we’ve got thousands of them.
… and I second this request, even if I made the first request.
Seriously, there has to be some thinking about this situation.
We could also let it suffice to say that hearts do not make the best repeatable content the game has to offer.
We most certainly agree here.
Consider Dry Top, which has no hearts. Players on that map are participating in events all the time, largely on the premise that each event contributes to both map-level and personal-level goals. This gives me the notion that with a little help at the system level, events can and should be the bulk of repeatable open world content in Tyria.
I’d be very interested in hearing your thoughts on that.
At least you are willing to listen, and thank you for the chance to communicate. I hate the map level, or boss event reward systems that we’ve had in this game. Yes, I have personal goals, but because of the megaserver system I simply cannot achieve the map level achieves for the Dry Top vendors. I had the same problems with the Scarlet Events.
My personal goals and rewards should not depend on megaserver population, cooperation, and language issues.
Thank you for listening.
Actually Herr some of us asked for backpacks that were craftable just after launch. It’s archived. I’m glad to see they are finally delivering!
All of my characters have an ascended level back piece, where I could choose the stats when I equipped the item on the character. I crafted all of them.
These items are cosmetic at best and only help Anet to deliver a unified version of the game to all of their markets. I know I’m being cynical here, but at this point I just can’t help it.
It’s another LOL. We want precursor crafting. They give us backpacks.
Someone around here is asleep at the wheel.
I think undoing progress every month is a terrible idea.
Resetting character progress is never a good idea. Fractal levels fiasco, anyone?
LOL… Another Daily Show special from Anet.
Game Parody. Not Fact Checked. Not Fully Thought Through!
Nobody with half a brain buys that…
… and one day NCSoft might figure that out.
Hackers wrecked that aspect of the game. Anet basically caved in to them because they didn’t want to do to the work to police it properly.
Not gonna happen. NCSoft wants us to buy their extractors.
So many haters. FSB is the biggest single reason why EoTM occasionally turns into a real fight. She lays some of the best zerg traps I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen plenty of commanders rage-quit when they realize they’re being farmed.
Honestly, she should get a couple of dyes named after her, like Tears of Her Enemies, or Blood of Her Enemies.
Good job FSB!
I’m posting this here because I’m absolutely dead certain that no Dev ever reads that sub-forum. It’s actually worse than the WvW forum. But it’s not like we need much there. There are really only 3 issues, all of which would make people happy.
1. A tab for Foxfire Clusters in the crafting bank please
2. Level 500 jewelry and cooking crafting please.
3. Precursor Crafting, please and finally, thank you.
See, so easy!
Considering that the guy more or less in charge of communications just left, in what should be described as acrimonious circumstances, I suspect the guy in charge isn’t yet interested to fill that position.
Too bad too, because they really do need an over haul of company policy. Players are simply not going to put up with the past behaviour no matter how good the cake gun is.
Boong for President!
Unfortunately, every single thing on that list has been discussed on these message boards before. Anet would have to be willfully stupid to be unaware of the issues.
But, that is still a distinct possibility.
I’m sure we’ll get a birthday booster again. The only minis I collect are the ones related to the story lines. There are no minis for Brahame or Rox yet, so those would be cool. Either way I’m not too fussed with it.
There are also Aetherblade vets in the middle of the EotM map, not sure about blade shard drop rates from those, though.
It’s really low. I don’t regularly get even one shard when the zerg goes through the place, and you can’t really solo that area. Those mobs hit hard.
We’ve been asking for this pretty much since day one.
The geniuses at Anet do not seem to think that this is a priority.
Before we get too mushy here, folks, lets be clear about what Mike just said. He basically just reiterated what thier policy on communicating with their customer base. If that’s all you need, then good for you. But what I really want is a broad understanding of their current and long term goals. Lack of communication only leaves for speculation. Speculation mostly leads to built up hopes, which cannot be achieved.
Everyone loses with their current policy. The only reason they have it is to have something to fall back on and avoid blame if they can’t meet their goals, which to me, is a cowardly way to run a company.
It certainly isn’t innovative.
I’ve read every single post in this thread and this one best sums up my point of view.
Another discussion line going on in this thread is the lack of the CDI process, and restarting CDI, which in my opinion is not a good idea. We players tend to focus most on the QoL items that we would like to see. Anet seems to regularly pick “other” priorities, and then fails to discuss them with us. Mike O’Brien’s post leads me to believe that this will not change in the future.
That will restart the player participation – hope – annoyance – anger – despair process, and we don’t need that again.
The underlying problems with CDI involve Anet cherry picking the priorities they will work on, the lack of discussion with players on those priorities, and the development speed over all. The process is simply so slow that it appears to be non-existent.
Proof of this can be seen in the profession bug lists that have barely been addressed. The trait thread only got addressed today/yesterday. In PvP Skyhammer still exists, and development on player requests concerning WvW QoL changes was really poorly handled and barely scratched the surface on what was discussed.
I’m not going to start making lists yet again, so I’ll just end this here.

Meh, no. I have Dawn on my mesmer.
Straight up, I wouldn’t use this because I prefer at least a bit of distance between me and my targets. Some of the melee classes have some awful damage output at short range, so I really like to use Steal as a gap closer and maybe use the stolen skill, and then P/D3 Shadow Strike to back away from the target.
A main hand pistol would be a better choice for the Krait runes. Main hand pistol hands out way more bleeding than main hand dagger. The Dagger Storm elite is pretty amazing with Krait Runes too, but with your build that’s probably not the best choice for an elite skill.
Like you I use Shadow Arts traits but II, VIII and XI. More stealth, more health.
You seem to like the poisons, so you have to use the utilities and elite that take advantage of them. I prefer the stealth utilities. Again, more stealth, more health and many times you can make a clean break away even from a zerg.
I prefer the acrobatics traits so that dodging gives back swiftness, might and endurance. I used to main a mesmer, so I’m constantly dodging anyway.
You’re not doing anything wrong, because there are lots of ways to play thief, but what you’re doing wouldn’t really work for me. Just saying.
I guess I should also say that I almost only play WvW or EoTM this days.

Is there any hope you can give for the value of Badges of Honor?
I mean, they’ve got to be worth something even if we’ve got thousands of them.
Sure enough, I’m on vacation too, for 2 weeks. Oh well…
I like the idea because not all classes have access to retaliation on their own, but I’m not sure what character I would use it on.
Oh look! The WvW blog is up, and the white knight fanbois are slowly fading away.
Next up for WvW? Command the Rainbow! (and we already know those details too).
I can’t wait to hear about some guy come home from 2 weeks of vacation, and Mawdrey is dead because he didn’t feed it, daily.

Precursor crafting
GuildMag: During your first year you’ve spoken about precursor crafting. Can you give any updates about that, and will we be seeing something like this during the upcoming period?
Devon Carver: So, we don’t really have anything to announce at this time, it is absolutely something that we’re, you know, fully aware of, and it is part of a system that we want to be making improvements upon so it’s something we’ve been putting a lot of thought into and then kind of been trying to figure out what the best solution to that problem is. But we don’t have anything that we can say right now about changes to the precursor system or the legendary system at all, but, like I said, it’s definitely something that is on our radar, it’s something we hope to be making improvements to and to have more to talk about sometime soon.
GuildMag: Soon?
Devon Carver: “Soon”.
I"ve seen Devon Carver’s version of “soon”. Forget about it.
2. Some player requests are under development.
This is the point that makes me laugh, and makes me wonder if Carver and Katzbach are drinking from the same water tap. They should get that thing checked out.
1 year of development, a single siege mastery, 3 woooah colours for the commander tag and a 1200 range grenade that disables siege in a 450 radius. Haha.
I am reminded of this post… https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Questions-questions/4247758
I am going to jump in here answer these as honestly as I am able.
- We can’t talk about that right now. Once the in-development features reach a state where we, as a company, are comfortable talking about them, we will.
- Some player requests are under development. What those are and when they will be completed, I can’t say at this time for reasons mentioned above.
- Devon is very busy with his job duties and only has limited time to devote to reading the forums. If he spent the time demanded of him responding to threads on the forums, his work would suffer. My job duties have me reading and reporting on the forums regularly to ensure that Devon and the rest of the team are aware of active concerns within the WvW community. I do this for other parts of the forum as well. As has been mentioned a multitude of times previously, our developers read the forums as much as they are able, but time prevents them from responding to everything they read.
So now we know what the big secrets were.
1. I’m a gamer, an old gamer and old habits die hard. I also have a lot of time on my hands.
2. I play GW2 because it’s free to play, no subscription. I’ve gotten my money worth of entertainment from the original box price.
3. I play WvW because it’s better than playing against a brain dead AI, and playing with brain dead players who think there is only one viable build.
4. I am desperately looking for something else to play because I really don’t like the direction that Anet has taken this game.
Zoom hack + siege disable. Yeah, this will end well for defenders.
What has become of our dearest Devon Carver?
He’s currently busy being skewered and roasted in another more recent thread.
I have to say though, the guy has remarkably steady hands. It must be hard to take aim, knowing that when you pull the trigger you are going to shoot your own feet.
WvW needs no money sink, …
This isn’t a money sink. It’s a blatant money grab through the gems to gold business.
Maybe I’m being too sensible, but you’d think the ability to change colours on the fly would be the way to go.
You are being far too sensible about this.
But where is that tag that only shows up for your guild? That was the important one.
C’mon! Would you guys cut it out. Sensible is so 2002!
Maybe i should try to get a job at Nexon…
Based on this post, you might be a natural at it!

Please be careful what you wish for. NCSoft reads these forums.
I don’t see a single word there that is related to WvW, but somehow, someone got “colored commander tags” from it.
I don’t get it.
