clear the queues damage a server’s power. If you have stupid guilds and others clogging your queue, your server will suffer. Obviously.

So move to a lower server where there are no Q’s ever.

I did the dailies but only because I played the game like I usually do, in WvW.

Just like old times! But those poor, poor PvE players….

I like PPK. I would like to see the PPK score though.

As a race the Sylvari were not interesting right from the start. It’s probably just a visual thing but I don’t like looking like a plant. I played one to get the story line achieves but the character didn’t last long after that.

Also, Ranger. I didn’t like the pet mechanics at all. At least with a Necro you have a choice to play Minionmancer, or not.

Of course that Sylvari I made was a Ranger. At least I tried them.

The one class I haven’t tried yet is Guardian and I would love to play a Kodan Guardian because Hammers Make Everything Better, with Corrupted Armor just for the “Oh, Yeah!” factor. Wont happen soon, and wont happen at all unless Anet fixes the traits system.

The list for the daily PvE achieves today is exactly what’s wrong with this new system. We used to be able to complete multiple dailies just by playing the game. Now we’re dragged around the maps like a bull with a ring through his nose.

Brisban Wildlands? I never go there. There is absolutely nothing there that is interesting, rewarding or fun. There isn’t even a boss there. If there was something interesting, rewarding or fun there, you wouldn’t need a daily achievement to get me there.

Maguuma Miner? Oh please. I can get my copper on many other maps. Why Maguuma? Again, there is next to nothing interesting, rewarding or fun. Ok, there is one boss that is reasonably rewarding. I don’t often get on the boss train these days because after over 2 years, it’s isn’t that much fun anymore.

Daily Fractal, and Daily Fractal 1-10 on the same day? Are you people so desperate to fill in the numbers that you have to double up the achievements? The metrics on this must be failing hard, but then maybe you should have thought about that before you reset the fractal player progress. They are still tediously long too, so nothing is getting me to go there either, not even that stupid spoon collection.

In short, I’m glad I’m a WvW player but I pity the PvE players who are still getting jerked around by that ring through the nose.

Must agree. This is not botting. Leeching seems more accurate but we have no way of reporting that as of yet.

Because there is nothing wrong with it. In fact, it’s so common in WvW that my server wouldn’t have any players left if they were kicked/banned every time they leeched my camp flipping.

I think it’s great that God-Mode GM’s are in game and making themselves visible from time to time, though I still have a bit of concern about time zone coverage. I play in the EU.

I’ve reported a couple of people as botting, for using radar-style hacks but they’re still doing it. Stealth is your get-away mechanism and when one guy can 100% of the time follow you and leap to exactly to your position with a stun, you know there’s something wrong.

It took me almost an hour today to do the PvE dailies, mostly because of the 4 Southsun events and because the Maw only pops once every 2 hours. By comparison, the WvW stuff was done in about 10 minutes.

I used to get this kitten done without thinking about it, but now we’re being dragged around by the nose. I really don’t like this new system.

This item made me look at again at making Mawdrey II, but the time gating just made my eyes glaze over, and I closed that window.

“Kill a Veteran Creature” is on the list today.

Obviously, in our rush for PPT and PPK, we haven’t been killing Henry or the Harpy or Warg often enough.

Roaming is perfect right now, thanks. No swords? I go where I want, and flip/kill anything I want. Roaming is perfect!

Of course, the goal had something to do with the role of the scout…

If you test this you will see it really doesn’t take a scout in every tower. It only takes a few players willing to kill some time and get killed in the process moving between towers and camps.

Many of us have already been doing this, keeping track of upgrades on ours and the enemies’ stuff. It’s the same idea, simply more diligent and prepared to die.

These guys used to play on the server I’m on. When I got tired of defending and wanted to go for a run I would try to join them. They would deliberately WP out to lose any pug who dared to follow them.

If I’m not good enough to run with them, I’m not going to scout for them and I stopped reporting anything to them. They eventually changed servers.

You’re ignoring the fact that quite a number of us actually enjoy owning, upgrading and defending the objectives, but I’m simply not going to do that when the tools I use have been taken away from me.

I can roam at will and get some loot for a change. It’s working too. I think I’ve been killed maybe 5 or 6 times this week, but compared to the 50x more loot bags I’ve gotten, that’s acceptable.

Ok, I’ve had to back-cap my favorite towers and keeps a LOT more often, but hey? It’s just more loot bags, and karma, and WXP, and XP. Right?

I predict Rytlock makes a comeback, but at the rate he’s moving maybe sometime in April or May, just in time for a Spring Break WvW Season.

And fair enough. The coding team probably just reached back to old code that was known to work and implemented it. QA for the win, yet again.

The second point was acknowledged by Gaile as “sounding like a bug”, implying that this is unplanned behavior, and implied the potential for fixing that.

As to the question “will” they fix it…That remains to be seen so far. But it’s also which will they change.

Thanks for the response. It sounds to me too that the non-finishing instances “that players can join” is a bit of bug and hopefully this can be fixed before the usual Christmas break.

Edit: Joining finished instances now seems to be fixed with the newest patch

I wonder which part of this 15 page thread about RNG and this 13 page thread about Halloween mini, or the multiple threads about Black Lion Chests, Mystic Forge and Tequatl weapons made the designers think that players love RNG.

The Bells of Wintersday don’t count toward the meta. I already did it once. Based on this I would guess that Snowball Mayhem Participant, Toypocalypse Survivor and the JP Mastery don’t count either.

Tetris had 4 skills linked to 4 keys. Left or right, clock-wise or counter-clockwise. Some versions had a “drop now” key, usually the space bar. It wasn’t hard after you got the hang of it.

I guess you got what I think about this sort of “music” when I said “turn off the volume”. This isn’t gaming and it isn’t music. A trained Seal or Monkey could punch these keys faster and more accurately than most teenagers, but it looks like a good Skinner Box and most US/EU game devs just can’t resist a good Skinner Box.

So, to get the wintersday meta, you have to grind out 500 correct notes in the choir.

Took me about 90 minutes total and I got the 30 songs in the next round, but I can totally understand that people don’t get it.

Anyone who has re-mapped their skills, utes and elite to something else will not be able to do this easily. First of all, write down your current key map. Then, go back to 1 – 0 for all skills and be glad that you don’t have hand reach of 1.5 octaves on a piano. For me, that’s a crowded computer keyboard.

Next, turn off the volume completely, select the lower part to play and re-position your view to look down on your part of the circle. Off-notes will put you off, so don’t listen to them at all. Other players notes (balls of light) will put you off, so don’t look at them. The lower part has fewer notes than the other section, so it’s generally easier to play.

In short, play this like a game of Tetris where each line leading to your character becomes a mental link to a finger. Put one finger each on the keys from 1 to 4, and 6 to 8, and then push the proper key just as the ball hits the edge of your space.

It wont take long to get good at it and you can move up to the middle part, where there are more notes and you progress much more quickly.

No, I’m really not. I’m looking to kill your yaks, road guards, and flip camps all without you even noticing that I’m doing it. I want to disrupt all your supply while our zerg forces your defenders use supply for repairs.

When I’m roaming I don’t want to meet you at all. You are more than welcome to hunt me down, but 99% of time you wont find me, and even when you do I usually get away from you.

I roam all the time but that doesn’t mean I’m looking for a fight. I can be far more effective by making making certain no yaks or supply are available to the bad guys, while our zerg opens a can of relentless on a keep.

Because Anet in their decimated wisdom have decided to pander to the Gods of Gaming Metrics, and one of those metrics must be “Participation in Newly Released Content”.

In order to game their own metrics Anet has built map specific currencies and map specific vendors for sort-of-interesting skins and more recently sort-of-interesting stat combinations that you just can’t get anywhere else.
