I once mesmer’ed a necro thread. It was a beautiful thing.
Same match up. Again. Oh well.
I’ve settled in to P/D and shortbow and I’m happy with krait runes. Corruption and Agony sigils on the P/D and Force/Malice on the shortbow. I build my stack of corruption and guard buffs then switch to my shortbow. Pizza and toxic focusing crystals. Upscaled players in EoTM just melt in front of me.
Krait #6 effect is particularly good when zergs collide, then I position to the 2nd row of the zerg and let the shortbow bounce arrows all over the place. If the fight isn’t going well, or I don’t see a lot of healing being splashed I can just stealth away and fight another day, because I’ve probably already got all the loot bags I’m going to get from the fight.
I’m loving playing thief.
I’m a relatively new thief player, coming from mesmer and I haven’t noticed anything painful about the steal skill, at least compared to all the bugs in the mesmer skill list.
I have to admit I didn’t know you could combo skills with Steal though. I’ll have to try that.
When Shortbow had 1200 range ?
I would sure like to get that one back, particularly SB5.
That jump just feels so short.
If Anet continues in this direction I will be very unhappy.
I’ve already had it up to my eyeballs with this map. I HATE JUMPING PUZZLES.
Building an entire map around the whole concept, and making it a part of the story, and then fully ignoring player comment on this issue, is not helping my mood.
Darkhaven have a good population during NA primetime and during SEA primetime, so these are the hours where you are likely to find fights.
How in the world are you in the bronze tier if you have SEA coverage?
We just have to lay down arms on WvW for a week, and maybe go play EoTM.
We should set up a community taxi for our drunken raid night.
Actually this would be really cool, particularly if Anet charges a fortune to move there, and then charge an even bigger fortune to leave that server. That way we can get all the PvP wannabe posers into one place where they can take turns admiring each other, flexing, and taking selfies.
Unfortunately they’ll all come back to the forum complaining that their server is dead.
It looks like we’re going to have to outright boycott this, because they just did it to us again.
For me the whole thing about “Anet doesn’t make grindy games” would be the deal breaker. If I had known then what I know now?
Pfft. Just, no.
Go have a look at the skyhammer map in sPvP if you want that sort thing.
What is wrong with you people?
Is this really such an issue?
There is nothing wrong with the players. This goes back to what’s wrong with Anet and this game. Rewards have always been way out of line with the time/effort required to obtain them.
In my opinion it’s the biggest single reason why people have left this game. There is no sense of reward here, and this silky sand garbage points this out in the worst way.
And it remains optional. The jumping elements that are absolutely required for the recent patches are minimal at best.
You can’t move around the map without jumping, so your comments about “optional” are completely wrong.
The jumping elements here are “annoying at best”, and “impossible at worst”. I got all the usual map elements done tonight with help from guildy pros and mesmers. I don’t like to have to rely others and I refuse to do the actual JP material here. It’s not worth my time or patience.
I’m not going to spend my gaming time yelling at my computer screen because I just slid off a stick, and died. That’s not fun, and it’s not interesting.
At best one geode at a time. They are pointless.
Yeah well, it’s a jumping puzzle. So, did you really want to play it all? I don’t.
I finished the story on one character and that’s enough of that. I see no need to go back for the extra possible achievement points or to finish the map. Falling to my death is just not that interesting.
On Windows, there is a mouse option that you can turn on that will make a visible circle appear around your cursor when you press ctrl. Works while in GW2 as well.
Not working in game for me. No idea why.
It will be made available
with the cantha update.in the coin mall

Shreiking, Accusations, Evil Eye, Sulking, and Poisonous Meals. Most of them use Inheritance Cutoff as their Elite skill.
It’s cheese and I love playing it now. It took me forever to figure out how to deal with P/D thieves with my mesmer, and it takes a PU build just to counter a thief and make him back off.
Now that I’m playing a thief I’m starting to wonder if I was just meeting some really bad thieves. I’m enjoying roaming again and I don’t have to run at the first sight of a hammer warrior.
I’m not really looking for a full lockdown build, just a reliable set of interrupts and it looks like p/p with the sleight of hand trait will do that. That would be 3 interrupts that need good timing to be effective, and you have to manage the cool downs on them.
It shouldn’t be too hard. Thank you.
I’m new to thief play, coming from my mesmer main which I have put on the shelf for now. I’m used to constant dodging and patient stealth, but also a nice supply of interrupt skills and I can’t figure them out with this class.
I’ve found the off hand pistol 4 skill for a daze, and good timing on that will get you an interrupt, but it’s really the only one I can see. Am I missing something useful?
Any tips for more interrupts would be appreciated.
I put my mesmer away about a week ago. I just got fed up with the constant nerfs, and trying to deal with hammer warriors in WvW. I made a hammer for my warrior and tried that, and didn’t like it.
So I a made a couple of nice daggers, a pistol and a shortbow. Long story short? I should have done this ages ago.

I like the chicken mode idea, but then I want my Arah tokens with a chicken mode too so I don’t have to deal with elitist dungeon jerks or guys selling dungeon spots.
@OP
Can you give a specific example of someone using a hack or cheat? Not the methods used, but the effects of the hack?
I’m not the OP, but I can provide plenty of vids. I would be immediately banned from this forum forever. pdavis? Google is your friend.
All I’m going to say is that you have to be extremely patient to play a mesmer, particularly with the PU build. If you’re playing your mesmer “on the fly” and constantly attacking, you aren’t being as effective as you could be.
Use a stealth skill if you have to dodge, but not before. Put up a couple of clones, heal and wait. Position yourself to hide in plain sight, and then auto-attack. I prefer a scepter, for the auto clone generation and then back to step one.
1v1 in WvW I can keep a fight going until help arrives for one of us, or my target runs (cuz I can’t catch anyone), or I see a chance for a burst kill. This bugs people badly, particularly the thieves.
Pizza. Condi dmg/duration on my roaming thief. I make these for myself but I don’t make the top one. The truffles are simply too expensive to spend on this.
I’ve stopped playing my mesmer. It’s not worth the time or skill needed, particularly when you watch hammer warriors at work.

No, this guy was a solo artist in the north camp, easily holding off 3 thieves.
I’m sure you can figure out why.
Is there any legitimate way to use these skills 2x in a row?
I mean 2x whirlwind and then 2x rush.
TIA of me posting yet another video on Youtube.
Silly zergstar, you just got owned by an organized group.
How wierd!
They aren’t motivating me to go back to that map.
No… If you want rewards, go do something…
I tried that in the Seasons. It didn’t work out quite how I expected.
90% of people that visit a kittenty restaurant don’t file complaints or go back to talk kitten, they simple never go again.
the exact same thing is happening to
wvwGW2.

Some things will be resolved when you observe the contents of the Schroedinger Box.
It was sure nice to be able to catch other players, and kill them.
I love my mesmer, but I’ve really been playing the wrong class.
Good luck with that.
I’m not sure but is there ANY living story recipe that’s actually worth the cost to craft it? They’re all relatively short compared to everything else you can craft and their requirements are absurd.
Boon Duration is always interesting for those classes that depend on them, like Guardian and Ele, but yeah, the mats needed are a bit expensive and so far the cactus can only be harvested from Dry Top.
It’s just more grind, but you know? Anet doesn’t make grindy games!
Make Pizza. Make a lot of them. Make a Feast of Pizza’s.
The affect will be the same, and your roaming camp protection party will love you.
It comes down to selling the ore at the best possible sell price, and buying the ingots with a bid price. Yes, it is cheaper this way, sometimes.
Crafting, or refining that ore into ingots has a value all by itself because you can level characters this way. This is why Ingots have less value than Ore.
Wow. The wiki is so slow in adding the new foods. An indication of lack of interest?
It’s players who update that. Yeah, we aren’t as many as we used to be, and this “account bound crafting” nonsense is not helping.
Refine Ambrite into sheets. Yeah, that makes tons of sense.
Anyone have the recipe for the Nopalitos Saute? What ingredients are needed please?
Do the story achievements, and DE’s around the world. Haven’t grinded a single thing, never done an event more than twice and I already have 190 geodes.
Also don’t purchase from the vendor until you get a T4 map. The prices are almost 50% less.
Wow… didn’t know the prices were different for different tiers. Also was told on mapchat that the tier was personal and not mapwide.
It’s mapwide and I haven’t seen better than T2 so far. It looks to me like playing the story with all characters is the best farm so far.
At 2 or 3, maybe 4 geodes per event I’m simply not motivated for this. I’ll need something like 1k geodes for the recipes I want. It wont happen, so thanks anyway for yet another jumping puzzle.

Err, I don’t like running around in a jumping puzzle sandstorm where I can’t see kitten-all and I’m quite likely to walk off a cliff if I did any of the jumps. I’m not enjoying this, and I’m not getting kitten-all from the chests I have opened.
Rememebr..there is no grind in this game..Anet leave that to other dev’s..remember?

I don’t know. That’s why I posted it here.
I made a good guess on the Prickly Pear because I saw that there is a pie recipe from the Dry Top merchant.
I pulled out my warrior today and made an ascended hammer for him. I took that character to WvW and my very first encounter with another warrior was painful for that guy, probably because I’m used to dodging hammer warriors and that guy obviously had no clue.
This might be a good option for now. I still miss my focus 4 wall pull though…. ><
(edited by Herr der Friedhoefe.2490)
I don’t bother any more. I’ve been absolutely flat broke since I made my one and only legendary, and I’m trying to rebuild my supply of mats. I’ll drop some siege in my favorite towers on reset night but otherwise I’m barely playing real WvW these days.
EoTM is far more profitable.
