Take it to PM guys.
Oh no, don’t do that. Normal people need to see that these wannabe kitten duelers refuse to take “NO” for an answer, and that’s exactly what map chat would devolve to if Anet brought open world dueling to the PvE maps.
Players who want to duel already have a couple of good options, and the PvE maps isn’t one of them. Suits me just fine, and I am a regular roamer in WvW. The two game modes should be held far apart, for the sake of both modes.
Having to hunt foes and explore and participate in world activities is not grinding to me.
It is if you’ve already done it all, multiple times. I really don’t want to go “explore” everything again just to get a precursor, and please don’t bore us with; ‘you can still go use the forge". I didn’t do that either.
I would have thought the goal for a new precursor system would be to make this just a bit easier, and a LOT less random. That isn’t what Anet has done.
And it’s collection based? We’ve been told that the current icons are placeholders but I doubt Anet has learned a thing from the current collections, most of which are not worth to do because the collectible items are worth more than the rewards.
Where does WvW fit into this? If at all? Will the WvW players be getting their map based drops in a rotating system? Probably not.
So what does that leave? Grinding for gold still, to buy everything you need. Great.
Played some EoTM this morning while waiting for others to come online. IA doesn’t work on many of those bridges because they are slightly uphill. Don’t get me started about stairs. This class was supposed to be about mobility because of our lack of stability.
What’s left to nerf? Stealth of course.
I’m not dead sure why people would want to redo hearts they’ve done before. I didn’t find them that exciting the first time through.
This. I’m working on 100% mapping with a second character because I would like to be at least prepared for the new legendaries and precursors. I’m sure the Gift of Exploration will still be needed, but…
the hearts bring tears to eyes, and not for any good reason.

If these mastery points are anything other than level based, I can see that I won’t get bothered with them.
I can’t be bothered make any new character because I refuse to go and collect traits for them. Anet have said they are going to “fix” their trait stupidity, and I really hope they are not just replacing that with “mastery stupidity”.
Black? I’m not Batman, but thanks for trying. I guess.
Just change back the system to “Dungeon Host” can’t be kicked.
This social stuff doesn’t tend to work in dungeons :/
Just “run” dungeons with friends for loot, and maybe quit trying to sell them?
That’s the message I’m getting.
its not black and white, there is a threshold. At certain thresholds of cost people will try to do it themselves.
John Smith probably just rolled over in his cold dark bedroom, because there was a great disturbance in the Force. (Someone got it!)
Have you had any moments where you look at the market reaction to something you consulted with and said to yourself “I done kittened up”?
LOL. Ok, maybe not a “market reaction” but how about the player reaction to the lack of “precursor crafting”. Even the fan blogs have made it clear that a lot of people have quit over that lack of progress.
Anet told us clearly that there will be new processes to acquire precursors with the expansion. Obviously they are trying to attract those players back to the game.
So Anet has target prices for items such as ectos?
Of course they do.
At the time they told us that they wanted the Mystic Toilet to return “a greater range of items”, which is devspeak for “more junk that you didn’t actually want”.
John, did it ever happen that a new feature or game mechanic that was proposed internally by the dev team was vetoed by you because it would have too big of an impact on the economy?
Does “precursor crafting” ring a bell?
Yeah, it’s a match up thread. Get over it. Ring of Fire vs Dzagonur vs Ruins of Surmia.
This one is coming down to the wire. Check it out.
So for the future, will Anet make huge bad patches like that NPE/Trait change without first going through us to see our opinion first?
Nope, because this guy gets it right the first time.
I fail to see why people are still trying to give suggestions on fixing the trait system. It’s over people. They’ve made their decisions and do not really want your input whatsoever. If you still think they do, I have a bridge to sell you.
These people will not wake up to their poor decisions until it hits them in wallet. There actually was a post about exactly that from Devon Carver sometime last year.
Some wannabe commander can’t get people to follow him, so the obvious solution is to delete all commander tags. Right….
with ppk, ppl will ensure they won’t die and always go in large groups. well that would end my solo roaming career or go full run away cheese tank mode.
Or we’ll go play some other PvP game.
“Honey, does this spaceship make me look fat?”
Shh…. They don’t like logic around here.
So let’s not mention the stupid number of times you’ll follow your nose around Silverwastes to get the various recipes and skins that you might want.
We asked repeatedly for this sort of thing and Anet has never done a thing about it.
I want ’’peaceful’’ systems like fishing to be added. They add more depth to the game and give you something else to do other than using that rusty legendary sword of yours to kill some dragons.
I like the idea, but can you think of something other than fishing? An agriculture sub-game to the WvW maybe?
Meh, this game already has way too much Farm Wars.
Who is forcing you to play the game?
You have some poor reading habits. You read what you want to read, and contradict people just for the sake of it. Where did I say I’m forced to play this game?
Let’s just pretend you were actually speaking for yourself rather than for “people” while we’re at it.
I said “we”. Where?
The fact that I like some of the content/developments in this game, and I utterly despise other factors does not make me a hypocrite.
The graphic development of this game has always been fantastic. The story line and it’s presentation has been somewhat less than fantastic. The heavily scripted theme park gaming is really getting on my nerves…
… and infracting me and banning from these forums for saying so is even worse.
I bought this game because “Anet does not make grindy games” and “play the game the way you want to play”.
Yes please. Let’s have more that, and less map based currencies and rewards that force people to play material that they otherwise really couldn’t be bothered with.
Megaservers add a level of difficulty all by themselves. Now try it when you can’t communicate with a large number of the players on the server because they don’t/wont/can’t speak your language.
I already dislike this new boss event as much as I disliked the marionette boss.
I’m done this story. I don’t see myself going back to Silverwaste any time soon.
Anyone done an analysis? Is it even possible to determine how many points come from kills? (I believe you can tell how many come from player kills + sentries + yak kills, but what about just player kills alone?)
I’m certain Anet has these numbers, but they don’t share this sort of information, ever.
I play a lot of WvW and I have a pretty good idea where RoF can wind up against our regular opponents, but matches have been closer recently and I’m sure this has been a factor.
I would like to keep PPK, but I would like to see more raw numbers on this topic.
Pact destroyed
Trahearne dies
Pale Tree is controlled by Mordy
Rytlock emerges from fractal asura gateEvon Gnashblade
saves the daygets richer.
FTFY
I’m sure they’ll be useful if I ever want a new character.
With the current trait system, I don’t want a new character.
How much do I want to avoid the trait system? My wife and I are going to dancing lessons tonight.
I don’t have a lot of sympathy for the OP. The karma train mindset is far too ingrained and many of them think they deserve to be rewarded for being there, which has never really happened in WvW to start with.
On the other hand I’ve seen more than few invulnerable players recently. Usually warriors and they simply ignore roaming thieves. You can back stab as often as you like. They just keep farming their node and move to the next one.
I almost have the 100k supply used for repair. That took 2.5 years. The next tier is 1 million supply used. At the rate I’m going, I’ll finish that 22.5 years from now.
Fixing this is not only not a priority. It’s off the table.
Mesmer portals work. Have fun.
But I’m very good at finding things to do all on my own, and I have a staunch tendency to resent anyone else thinking they know better than me what I should be doing in my pretendy-funtime game.
Preach it Brother!
Also please no useless posts in this thread. Thank you.
Hey bub, you started with a useless post. We’re just piling it higher.
You can set your own brightness, background and color scheme. It’s not hard.
Nothing new here. Moving along…
OP must be playing on the NA servers, and has obviously never met SFR commanders.
Nope, european.
Can you imagine any of them not setting up to smash a zerg once they know where it is? Go ahead, party up with one of them. I’ll go get the popcorn.
I guess the only question is why is an exotic aquabreather worth so much to you that you felt you had to PvP to get it?
Is there some underwater stuff you can’t do with your green aquabreather?
I decided that the exo aquabreather was not worth my time to go play sPvP, but I would still like to see that item available in the parts of the game that I do play regularly.
I would like to see a lot more items distributed across the game more or less evenly, but Anet prefers the carrot and stick.
Play the game how you want to play? What a joke.
OP must be playing on the NA servers, and has obviously never met SFR commanders.
Only a WvW players says “reward track? what reward track?”
Keep in mind that sinister could is great mostly for Solo PvE. It’s a huge investment for a stats that is not that great in most PvE group content. You can still do your ascended gear if you want, its just an head up.
I’m using Ascended Sinister on a condi thief and it works great on anything up to large scale bosses where my conditions can be over-written by others. I still get full credit for kills, even on EoTM champions.
As for WvW roaming? Hehehehe…. I’ve been having a ton of fun with that.
Waiter! I’ll have what he’s having! Make it a double please!
We’ve known for a while that Anet has some strange priorities, but this is just a bit bizarre.
Meh. No. I don’t miss that garbage at all. Map chat is actually interesting and useful in this game. Let’s keep it that way.
Chances are, this is already underway, since we have the other two
Probably, and it was sure nice to see them tone it down a bunch to make the Star. Honestly, time gated daily items from too many parts of the game just make my eyes water. I won’t be making Mawdrey just because of that.
Any other vets find the NPE and trait changes so off-putting that they just can’t make new characters anymore and struggle to keep interest in any character made after April 15th in general?
Yep. I have absolutely no interest to create another character, no matter how much I would like to try a guardian.
They generally do not want the UI to be too cluttered and do not create too many tokens. More tabs could be used with the least important tokens on a second or third tab. Basically, do you want more clutter in your UI or your inventory?
The wallet has plenty of room for tabs and more items. It was designed to help clear up inventory and bank clutter, but I’m sure Anet will find something else to work on, something that players never asked for.
It’s noticeable in the lower tiers too. Ring of Fire can field a pretty good number of players in the prime time and we have a few talented commanders willing to lead the pugs.
I would say that PPK is one of two things holding our score close this week. We also have a pretty good night defense/capping team although this week they’re mostly playing defense.

May RNG bring you luck.
I’ll let you be the volunteer RNG victim. I want no part of it.
I could not care less what you do with your musical bells, so long as I don’t have to listen to them, and I don’t.
If you want to spend your gaming time writing macros? Go nuts.
Monthly topic is monthly. They’re busy fixing things that we never asked to be fixed, things that aren’t broken.
First of all, you don’t dictate how I do anything in my life, never mind how I play a game. Poor you if you that needs to be shoved in your face.
Second of all: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperacusis
I don’t even have the game music on, never mind wanting to listen to your TeamSpeak garbage. That just isn’t going to happen.
On a cold and quiet night when sounds travel well I can hear trains pulling into the main train station, and that’s almost 3km away. A couple of people have tried to tell me that it must be nice to have a super-power. My thinking is that it would be nice to be able to turn it off once in a while.
I think I’ll call my bank tab Pete. If I ever get a 2nd one, I’ll call him Repeat.
I guess it would break somebodies bones to announce anything here, today, and save themselves the price of the rent on a large hall at a convention?
Public hype beyond those who read the gw2 forums.
Attempt to pull non gw2 players (Back) from other games.
General publicity to those they actually need to entice into the game?
Not one of those is a reason to ignore the community here.
I do not remember the last time I saw a Q for any map.
