Trays are only useful if a lot of players are around to use them. So, Tequatl sized events in PvE, or WvW reset night. That’s when you see them.
You wouldn’t use a tray for a specific dungeon or fractal. There are only 5 people in the party.
… and in those cases it wouldn’t be surprising if people in the guilds(assuming there is one one) organizing for those events have someone doing all the cooking already so they wouldn’t need to buy them.
That’s how we do it.
Meh. That’s didn’t last long. I was still trying to figure out how best to use it.
It was probably too good to be true. Mesmers don’t get nice things.
Edit: Just found this. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Merged-topics-Achievement-bug-no-chests-dailies-stuck/page/3#post3924559
Apparently we’re more important than daily achievement bugs.

You wont need copper for the Electrum item.
Players asked for boon duration when MF was removed from the celestial armor. Didn’t happen then, and it wont happen now.
There are players who thought the boon duration build was an exploit.

Daily Activity used to be on the list, every single day. Now it’s not. I don’t mind.
Would anyone like to guess how many people are playing Crab Toss or Keg Brawl these days?
It’s a sad day for a lot of interesting characters. So much for “encouraging build diversity”.
Thanks. I’m trying Strength and Fire together. So far, so good.
Good luck getting any answer on this forum, from a Dev at least.
I just did my usual test on the Champion Wolfmaster with my mesmer in Ascended Celestial gear and zerker weapons. I’m not looking forward to WvW tonight.
Why did I work so hard and long for that gear? Just to have this happen?
Did you also compare zerker gear pre and post? Because all the damage gear was nerfed, not just celestial. The relative damage may be higher now.
I don’t have a zerker set. That was sort of the point of making Celestial. One set of gear for almost all situations because the grind for Ascended gear is hardly acceptable for one set, never mind a WvW set, a dungeon running set, a fractal set…
Will both proc? Or just one?

During one of the ready up streams a few months ago, the developers were chatting about how they had recognised, some players used a mixture of rune sets to gain a specific effect.
This boon duration combination was mentioned and on the stream the devs agreed that they liked how players had achieved this build and didn’t want to drastically change it.
I wouldn’t count on it. This nerf wasn’t at all about encouraging build diversity.
“Encouraging Build Diversity” is Devspeak for a nerf.
Anet up to their usual routine. Takes Longer = Harder.
I have a nice warm and fuzzy whatever feeling here.
Lulz. That’s Devon Carver’s personal baby. You don’t think we’re going to put our fingers on it, didja?

One of the earliest ideas thrown around was “server specific borderlands”, in keeping with the theme of the server. It never happened.
Why would we care? The Chinese servers are completely separate from ours.
Oye, it’s a pvp zone. Don’t like it? Don’t go there.
Or better? Bring a lot of friends.
I would love to see some changes to the laurel system. I detest time gated anything in a game and this game already has too many currencies. The daily achievements still reward a mystic coin and nobody minds that all, because they are at least a bit useful and more important, they are tradeable.
The Laurel Vendors should be turned into Mystic Coin vendors and we should be able to turn in our laurels for coins. That would take one unwanted time gated currency out of the game without changing much in terms of player rewards from time played.
At 13k points I’m one of the top 1%, but I’m not really sure how this affects me. I’m at 6k dailies and 1k monthlies, so I have quite a way to go before getting hit with this wall.
I’m also not quite sure why this wall is needed. Did Anet give any reasoning behind this decision, or was it the usual thing and “this is what we’re doing, your opinions don’t matter”?
This is exactly why I detest the fractals, and I never go in without a repair canister.
RoF doesn’t really belong in the Silver league but we’ve run out of opponents in the Bronze league. Hopefully we don’t just get run over every night. That wont be fun.
2 or 3 dissenters is not a testament.
Please get real and look more closely at the threads over time.
Doesn’t everyone in ESO get sneak? I wouldn’t imagine people that hated perma-stealth on one class here migrating there where entire armies can sneak around unseen.
I’m not at all a TESO fan but I can see that if “everyone has it”, there wont be so many complaints about one class.
This has been addressed in several games already. There is a “Do not Disturb” option for duels in most games that offer them.
In my experience, it doesn’t work. Map chat gets toxic when no one wants to duel. Everyone is a carebear, and it goes downhill from there. The fact that so many people here are willing to speak up against open world dueling is testament to this.
Clever of you though, to post this thread in the WvW forum, rather than the regular GW2 discussion forum. You aren’t getting the usual critique precisely because most of the people who don’t want open world dueling don’t play WvW either, and they aren’t reading the WvW forum.
This thread should probably be moved to the GW2 discussion forum.
Those of us who object to open world dueling do so based on past experience from many other games where the dueling crowd always becomes a toxic element in the community. We don’t want that here.
An example might help your case.
I’m older than most gamers. I’ll be 50 on my next birthday. I’ve likely forgotten more gaming titles than you’ve played. I don’t want to go back to any of them that had open world dueling. I was a sailor too, and I can be eloquently rude when I want to be.
The problem with dueling in the open world is the “won’t take no for an answer” crowd. These are the same people who post in these forums.
There, I said that politely. No need to be rude, but don’t tempt me.
Anet has messed up a lot of things in this game, but they’ve done plenty of things right too. No dueling in the open world is one of them. You aren’t disadvantaged at all by that because dueling still exists. It may not be exactly the format that you want, but it’s there, and I take advantage of it too.
As I’ve said before, I fully support dueling, but not in open world PvE. It doesn’t belong there.
That would be the least they could do. Open world dueling is a better option. Those that oppose it have almost no grounds to complain.

I fully support dueling. We have current options, sPvP and WvW. I duel in both of those styles and don’t think that more is needed. If you truly want to duel “against friends” with PvE gear, what’s needed is “WvW rooms”, not open world dueling.
“If the arenas allowed for WvW gear and food, then this would work but they currently do not.”
Then lets work on this, rather than open world dueling on the PvE maps.
Many of the “no dueling” crowd would support this, because as we’ve often said, our only objection to dueling is the “open world” part.
I was the only defender and the door was not yet open. Not cool Anet.
Not cool at all.
Waiting for the hackxplosion, starting tomorrow.
Btw, why would wvw, which is a minor part of the overall game, be used as leverage against ESO?
Minor? You’re joking right?
WvW is the endgame here. Sad as it is, WvW is the glue holding people here. Once something better comes out…
sPvP died ages ago and the only thing else is mindless repetitive rounds of bosses, dungeons and fractals. At least with WvW you’re playing against real people and they are not predictable. Everything else is AI, repeatable, and predictable.
You can’t actually post there either, so this isn’t a bad spot for it.
I could see a use for a “quick draw bag”. Food, supplements, Ogre pet whistles, preset and saved trait setups…
if that last one actually existed….
A large number of players are going to be vocal against this because you are still saying “dueling in PvE”. Just can it. We will fight that all that way to the very bitter end. We don’t want dueling in the PvE maps.
But you’re perfectly fine with costume brawlers filling every part of LA with their stupid sound effects?
Excuse me? I have Hyperacusis. My audio is always off.
Oh look, this again, tonight.

Now then, if what you really want is private rooms for dueling, in WvW? I and many others would support that.
At Primetime half of Gandara is going to be in Queensdale just for something to do.
You may want to ease up there runeblade. Your tone will only serve to solidify the perception that duelist are toxic players who demand duels and don’t take no for an answer.
Oh no, please let him keep going. This is exactly what needs to be shown. Duelists don’t take no for an answer. They form up groups of thugs to go looking for victims and the whole community environment turns toxic because of it.
We’ve all seen this before, and want nothing to do with it ever again, which is why we bought this game. But please, let Rune have his never-ending, not-taking no-for-answer thread. It’s helping us who don’t want dueling.
You can stop with ambiguous unrelated riddles and make your point.
What’s ambiguous about “been there, done that, don’t ever want to play that sort of game again”?
So for the both of you… Can you fight dragons while PvPing? NO. Can you PvP while fighting dragons? NO. They’re 2 separate game modes and they should not be mixed together.
You don’t need to tell me that. I support this guys right to go duel his face off, but not in my face. He can use one of the rooms that are available for that, or WvW.
Of course, neither of those options gives him the ability to troll map chat with obnoxious behaviour, so he’s not satisfied with either of them.
- You bought a game that has PvP and has duel rooms. Why haven’t you requested a refund?
Because I use those things and enjoy them for what they are, an awesome place other than PvE for group and 1v1 dueling.
- I have no interest in fighting world bosses. Should ANet remove them or should I ignore them? That is how I feel about your interest.
- You told me many times that there are other alternatives. I told you many times why that alternative does not work.
- You bought a game with world bosses. Maybe you should ask for a refund.
- There are other alternatives. There are a lot of other games out there.
don’t see why you have to be against dueling so much, I think it is nonsense to be against it.
Because we’ve all seen it before and have no interest in dealing with it again. I’m certain Anet is paying attention to that sentiment and you have been told many times, there plenty of places for you to go dueling.
dude, you keep saying that
It is not helping your case at all
Has dueling been implemented in PvE? No? I guess my comments are helping my case.
Btw, the use of the word “carebear” is also helping my case. It shows exactly the attitude that non-duelers would have to deal with in PvE, if Anet were to develop that.
The toxic environment would break this game for a lot of PvE players. The constant “duel me, dude” and “what are you afraid of…” and after I mute you, your guild gets in on it, “c’mon dude, duel him. duel me too” and “what, are ya to chicken to fight?” and “f’ing carebears everywhere here…”
I’ve seen it in too many other MMO’s and it was part of the reason why I came here. I love dueling in WvW, but I don’t ever want to see it in PvE.
What do you mean, “Still no dueling”? There is plenty of dueling here, and it’s right where it belongs, in an sPvP room or in WvW. Please get your jollies there and leave PvE as it is.
I had (and still have) a lot of the mats for crafting unid-dyes. Those prices are running nicely too and I’ve sold some stuff off. I’m still going to hold out for ascended cooking and exotic level crafted dyes.
I never understood the denial of learning no language. It is even worse in Germany where you can’t even watch movies in original language (almost every cinema/movie theater shows movies with German dub).
I’m glad someone else knows this. Every time this conversation has come up, people try to tell me that Germans somehow magically all speak English and that just isn’t true.
Communications from Anet could be a whole lot better, but that applies to the English language too!
I did this with my engi specifically for a boon duration flamethrower build. It’s a beautiful combo of DPS and support and it’s tanky as hell. It’s a bit experimental and there are no ascended armor or trinkets that I would need to improve the build, but I still enjoyed playing it.
I won’t be playing it all if they actually go ahead with this idea.
But you know? Play how you want to play!
“Soon” it will be, "Play what you want to play! (and it will be something else).
This Wont Hurt [aBit]
Changing functionality of a GRINDY equipment already obtained by players is total disrespect towards players and totally unprofessional
Exactly. Despite all the uproar over rolling back character progression in the Fractals fiasco, Anet have not learned a single thing, and gearing up characters with time constrained grindy gear is also character progression.
GG Anet. Roll us back some more.
You can’t salvage ascended items.
