Badges were made for melee classes. If your range classes you get little to none. (…)
Wrong…. im noticed quite the contrary.
I just need to stay back and and hit the max people radomly, then grab the bags.
I get plenty of badges on my Mesmer, more than enough to support our guild with siege and I have 500 put away.
It should not be difficul to bring Ascended gear to WvW, no matter what currency they decide on. There are more than enough vendors on the WvW maps for Ascended items to be added. The coding would be trivial.
The fact that this hasn’t happened yet tells us that Anet has no desire for this to happen.

hes saying he saw alot of new players not that he got gw2 for christmas. lol
But of course a lot of people just can’t read. I pre-purchased.
How about you read the above posts? This was already said…
It seems you need to repeat this many many times for anyone to even understand that everything they say in these threads has been said thousands of times.
It seems we’ll need to repeat this a few thousand more times too before Anet does something about this problem. WvW has almost overnight turned into TvT as players give up and join the crowd, or just give up.
I wave at him every time I walk right on by. He’s not worth my time.
I have a different bind for that key, but yes it does open the “current” WvW score panel. I would like to be able to open the most recent PvP match afterwards, while sitting in the Mists.
That current keybind opens the current WvW score when I’m sitting in the Mists.
Scratching my head wondering why…
Karma is a free exotic set from the Cathedrals, or karma vendors on Orr. Not bad stuff, and basically free just for playing.
If you’re not earning gold above repair costs in WvW, you’re doing a few things wrong. Don’t run alone in the open, and defend/repair when you have supply.
sPvP is fun too when you can play with your friends, that’s just a bit hard to find these days. WvW is getting good that way.
1v1 arenas with spectators would be huge fun guild events. Sadly…
It would be nice if those panels were selectable and could be shut off most of the time. Sometimes I like to see what skills killed me because I’m always shocked at the dmg some classes can put out, but I sure as hell don’t need to see the map info every time I respawn.
Match scoring is another that I would like be able to review after the match is over. For some reason people like to just keep fighting after the match is over and scored, but I would like some chill out time to see what I did right.
Not to mention it’s so much fun to be out in the open terrain rather than being confined to a small pvp map
Wait until you get the 2 shot treatment from a thief, or more likely these days, a few of them working together.
In all fairness WvW rewards are only for the zerg artists. Try defending a keep for a few hours, and see what you earn for your time and effort.
And this is why SPvP is so much more popular than WvW, right? =P
Hey, I play all three styles depending on what our guild is looking for during the week. I often claim a tower or keep for the week, and try to defend it in WvW, but we don’t mind running with the zerg if we’re leveling alts.
Most of my guild doesn’t play sPvP though, so I’m usually alone and looking for PuGs. It’s not a lot of fun at the moment.
In all fairness WvW rewards are only for the zerg artists. Try defending a keep for a few hours, and see what you earn for your time and effort.
… and of course they haven’t got the slightest clue what they are doing.
I just joined a tourney PuG with 4 players from one guild, 3 were thieves. I figured, ok, cool. This should work. The match started and all 4 ran for the same point and captured it together. I’m sure they were all really excited about it. ><
I waited over and hour this morning to get into a tourney, and this on a holiday. Then when the tourny finally started we were 3v4, but we still won the first match. Then it was 3v5.
People should be glad we can skip the trash mobs, or a lot of players would simply skip the entire dungeon experience. About the only time I ever go is when guildies need one more to fill the party, otherwise I can’t be bothered with them.
The dungeons take too long, they’re too hard, the drops are pathetic and bosses with one shot party wipe skills are a good sign of poor dungeon design. I take great delight in waving at Kholer every time I go right past him.
This obvious Troll thread from staff should be locked and deleted just because it is obviously a Troll thread. The employee should be personally infracted and banned from the forum for a day.
No more cupcakes.
You must have played on terrible servers if your experiences limited you to “culling zerg garbage gameplay”.
Playing on the EB map tonight, sitting on a ballista in the Overlook Keep, I could not get a target on the zerg that was attacking Veloka because of the “culling zerg garbage gameplay”.
The server has nothing to do with it. A ballista needs a target in order to shoot.
Obviously Anet has this as one of their top priorties, but it’s just not enough.
The wiki is incorrect for the tailor profession. Anyone have a clue what the correct recipe is?

Edit: Never mind. This recipe can’t be discovered.

As disappointing as this is, it isn’t really a surprise. Over time every game dev loses touch with their player base, and does themselves in in the process. The astounding thing here though is just how fast this has occurred. This game is only a few months old and players are building websites to provide functionality that should be in game.
They aren’t listening.
I have seen a few very clever commanders (or guild leaders with voice comms) build kill boxes that were devastating, and you just had to give them style points too.
Try taking over Cliffside on an enemy borderland and then don’t actually take the place for your server score. Just keep the NPC’s in check and lay down arrow carts, and use AOE against anyone who tries to enter the tower.
It’s a badge farm for an hour or more, but hard to do unless you have total control over the zerg. It’s beautiful when it works but eventually some dingbat shows up and says, “hey guys, why didn’t you take this place? all you have to do is stand here…”.
Most Commanders haven’t got a clue how to play defense. They could probably learn something here.
I hate falling so you can imagine how much I like the Cliffside fractal. This junk is nothing but a con job to get players to buy rezz canisters from the coin mall.
20 extra points in stats!! W00t!
I have nothing against gaining an extra 20 points in stats, as long I don’t have to relentlessly grind a dungeon to get them, but Anet already knows that. Too bad they are doing boom all to correct that mistake.
Nope, because “preview” of other armor types is apparently a higher priority, despite the fact that not one single player ever complained about it.
Oh and that map completion star? Don’t even think about it for your mesmer.
Upgrades are a force multiplier, not a force replacement. You don’t complain if you build 30 arrow carts and get overrun when you only have 10 defenders…
Actually I complain loudly and bitterly about exactly that because I make a point to advertise that any fort I own has plenty of toys for people to play with. These days I’m down to building 3 arrow carts in Veloka, and guess what? …
The zergheads just gotta zerg until it becomes painful that they can’t take anything else, and by then they have usually been drawn so well out of place that they can’t provide any meaningful defense.
I have said this many times in these forum, but apparently Anet simply doesn’t care.
There is no real reward for a guild to claim and try to hold any point on the WvW maps. Until this changes the zergheads will rule the WvW game, particularly in the lower brackets, because there is no reward for them to do anything else.
I posted this to provide feedback to the devs. I have no interest in other player opinions.
This will be my last post in this thread. Mods, feel free to lock it.
Seriously, that bell event has nothing to do with music. My computer keyboard is not a piano and my piano doesn’t have color coded keys. Please leave music to musicians, because this isn’t music. The insult to this injury is of course the “achievement”. Right. You get a gold star for playing Mary had a little lamb on your computer keyboard. Get real.
The jumping puzzle? I don’t do them in the rest of the game because I don’t have the lightning fast reflexes of a 13 year old hopped on energy drinks. Oh look, another gold star! For what?
And the snowball fight for presents? This has nothing to do with playing PvP as a team because the “achievements” are only awarded for a couple of things. If you actually get a present in your hands your “team” will follow you, but only because they know you’re going to be shot dead shortly, and then they have a chance at the present. The PvP theme is fine for a calendar based event but the “achievements” dictate that the fun runs out fast.
Congratulations on Tixx though. You finally got a dungeon right in the game. Fun, fast, rewarding, incrementally harder each day, with some interesting side notes like breaking the broken toys or destroying the town.
Tixx if fine, but the rest? Never mind.
Bacon! Seriously, what cooking craft does not include bacon?
Would be nice to have preview on the trading post, but apparently that’s not a high priorty.
I’m not spending 10 cents on this game until some serious changes come along, and not just related to themed events.
The thief class, dungeons that are stupidly difficult, guilds moving to the “server that will win” every week, drop rates, Ascended gear as a dungeon treadmill, the lag monster at event times…
I could keep going.
I really want to know how AG wound up in the lower tiers.
You guys aren’t over-whelming powerful in the prime time. We (Rof) fought back daily with nothing to start with, and got back to just about even every night, but your overnight team takes all the maps back after we’ve all gone to bed. Must be boring for those guys but they are winning it for you.
You didn’t have those guys around last week? Or the week before?
what happens if the superior troups decide to not-cap the last supply-camp from the losing server? Just don’t cap it in order to prevent the breakout-events… ?!
Exactly. They leave you one tower in a corner of the map, and no Breakout.
Why, even most commanders could have thought of that trick.
Watching the Drama Queens from Aurora and Gunnar’s is getting really old. Please take it to your unofficial forums, thanks.
This is about the game and we on RoF are fighting hard, and we can take points.
Gunnar’s held Redbriars on the RoF borderland tonight and I think it was about a 90 minute fight or more. Two walls were down, and so were the doors. We (RoF) had trebs from Bay, and so did Aurora from the island.
I’ve never seen a more determined group than Gunnar’s to hold that point. They were fighting back in to defend constantly, despite the fights in front of RedBriars. Gunnar’s got back in again, and again.
And then suddenly it all changed and we on RoF who were still there and fighting for it had a clear field, and only had to defeat the NPC’s. Of course we got it, with only the NPC’s, but of course Aurora took it from us a few minutes later.
As a three way fight it’s an incredible challenge. Against Aurora alone, it’s bed time.
Have seen no ring of fire people all night though! where ye guys at?
Outmanned on every single map = time to go to bed.
How about just quit doing the fractals? I can’t be bothered with them any more.
And here I was thinking that wvwvw/pvp was all about fighting other players, guess I was wrong…. AGAIN..
WvW weekly score has nothing to do with killing other players, although an awful lot of that will happen along the way. You win your weekly matchup by taking and HOLDING the points on the map. Killing a single guy roaming an enemy map doesn’t do a thing for the weekly score for my server, and it’s just silly to tell us that we’re double teaming the leading server based on that.
If you want pure player kill I suggest you go try sPvP.
Bullkitten dude. GH and RoF are double teaming AG. Tonight we had 695 points per tick and both RoF and GH go around taking our supply camps
You have a +695 per tick and the other 2 servers have nothing for each other to hit, but we’re “double teaming” you. Oh boy, poor you.
We on RoF got most of our borderlands back this morning because we started on the camps, and then moved fast with rams once we had some supply. Of course, your North American guildies showed up en masse once they were done reaming the GH borderland.
It would be the quartermaster at the supply depot. Though, I’d suggest not purchasing that upgrade before fortifying walls and doors, adding cannons and mortars and a waypoint.
That’s funny. I go exactly the other way around with that. I slowly add the services as and when I have full supply. That way I never run out while building the fort upgrades. Obviously it all depends on having the yaks coming in, but nothing says “HIT ME” like a fort that is stalled in the middle of an upgrade, with no supply in the fort.
The situation so far this weekend shows exactly why wholesale transfer of large WvW guild must be further restricted and soon. We can figure out for ourselves what the matchups are going to be each week and big guilds are simply moving to “the server that will win”.
The people of RoF don’t care what the drama is between AG and GH, but we are getting a little tired of the obvious double teaming that we’ve seen a couple of times already this weekend.
Quite frankly, dealing with the AG night cap team is bad enough.
I’m one of those who still thinks that the dungeons are too hard, take too long, have too many bugs, the bosses have way too much HP, and for the time that it all takes, first to get a group together, possibly have to clear the way to gate, then do the run…
The loot is pathetic for all of what you have to put up with.
I stopped doing the dungeons here and unless they are toned down quite a bit I probably will never do another dungeon run in this game. I’m a casual player and I want to enjoy my gaming time with some laid back fun.
For those of you who want to tell me to quit being bad at the game? I have things I would like to tell you that aren’t allowed here. So just save it.
Anyone else notice that you can’t store them in the PvP locker. As of today.
So last nights patch broke something.
About the only area where Mesmer is OP is underwater, and that’s really only one map. On dry land they have very little in the way of speed even if they are confusing as kitten at times. They are tough to kill, yes, but not near as bad as the frigging thief.
It’s the 6th, and I only got my Thief kill today for the monthly. I got everything else in the first of the daily achievements.
And thank you very much.
Edit: … err, where did my pvp salvage kits go? I had like 4 groups plus a few extra not used. I put them into storage in about that order. Guess how many I have left. Yep, the few extra and I seem to have lost about 60 pvp salvage kits.
Collectable tabs should be additive, not replaced. Great job. Destroyed my Monthly PvP reward from last month when I tried to move that stuff to the new PvP collectable tabs.
I’m so impressed with your coding skills, I might send my 9 year old niece to apply for a job.
(edited by Herr der Friedhoefe.2490)
Thank you, both of you. Bookmarked for reading tomorrow night.
1 v 1 with spectators would allow guilds to run their own tournies, and let them teach and test builds for fun, with no pressure. I don’t know why this is not a thing.
Does anyone have a link to a good guide with recipes for PvP items from the Mystic Forge?
I have to admit, I’m absolutely clueless here.
i believe the devs consider wvw as pve.
They cant be that thick??
Oh yes they can.
And why do we need another thread with the same complaints?
Because the problems are still there despite that we’ve been complaining about this more or less constantly. They aren’t listening, but that’s not a new trick among game devs.
