Not one word from anybody, not even on Twitter.
Hello brick wall, haven’t we met somewhere before?
(edited by Herr der Friedhoefe.2490)
All I want to know is if they are going to continue to add more ways to obtain this gear other than teaming up with people we don’t like or getting on to do Dailies everyday for 3+ months per character.
Unfortunately your chances at getting an answer here is pretty much zero. We might as well be talking to a brick wall here, on all of these issues.
It’s the number one topic in the Tech Support section of this forum and like always we might as well be talking to a brick wall.
Sigil of Perception on the offhand, to increase the chance of a crit hit. Sigil of Frailty on the main hand weapon to inflict Vulnerability on 60% of all crit hits. You could add sigils for bleeding on crit hit, or other conditions too but I find that all of those hit the stack limit of 25 fairly quickly, so prefer the Frailty sigil on the main hand.
I also use maintenance oils and certain soups to greatly increase precision, and there for the chance to hit critical.
That’s how a mesmer is supposed to be played. Portals and Time Warp. Fun, fun, fun.
Kodan Guardian in Corrupted Ice Armor, with a Corrupted Hammer.
Make it so number One!
It would sure be nice to play this game tonight. Total lagfest or disconnects.
You had too many people on him. These guys scale up against you. We had Half Bake tonight with about 5 or 6 people and used conditions/combos really well. My mistfire wolf did some great dmg too.
If you have that many people you should consider the higher grade bounty hunts and spread out more.
The other half of our guild went looking for the Diplomat guy. We didn’t have enough people to find all 15 NPC’s before starting our event so we decided to leave the lower map NPC’s in hopes that if we got one, we could find them quick with little problem from the usual mobs. The idea worked and we found him and killed in time, but kitten 25 stack of confusion from one mob?
I want to make one thing clear, this post is not fanboy post for the bounty hunts. I detest any gaming idea that gates content for anyone, and I hate the way the guild missions have been published.
A couple of weeks ago I could do the daily in about 15 minutes. Today it took about 45 minutes.
Ok, there were a couple of wierd/funny ones. Daily condition apply. Stand just to the side of the minotaur event in wayfarer’s hills and launch a phantasmal beserker. Done.
I Am a Daily Condition Applier! Fear Me!!!
The problem is that they tied laurels in to the dailies. Put laurels elsewhere and put the dailies back to how they used to be.
Exactly. One ascended piece here, another type of ascended over here, ascended weapons coming from some other part of the game, maybe 6 months from now…
We must remember at all times, Anet does not make grindy games.
This game is actually turning into attention span theater, and where the hell are my keys?
(edited by Herr der Friedhoefe.2490)
Nope, guests on a server don’t get the chest rewards from doing a bounty hunt, even if they are representing your guild at the time.
The lack of orange swords is going to make this a very different game from last week. I’m not really happy about paying for upgrades just to see them evaporate over night.
And what about guys that don’t have unlocked whole map?
You don’t get to play, just like small guilds don’t get to play. Have a nice day.
OP shouldn’t worry about “not getting it”. A rather large number of players are never going to get this content because it’s gated and smaller guilds simply can’t play.
What foods are considered masterwork?
Also, huzzah no dungeon, fractal or wvw crap. Guess I -should- play this month afterall.
Feast recipes are masterwork.
Expand a little.
Nope, not going to do that. But don’t let that stop you from having a nice day.
I am interested to know what you consider the “proper upgrade progess”, because I know that my ideas are quite a bit different than most, but they seem to work. In order to make my ideas work I (and guildies) have to stay close to the keep we’ve claimed.
Once we have it fully built though, we normally keep the place for the entire week, usually because we’re still staying close by.
So seriously, what is your idea of the proper upgrade plan?
This one chest per boss per day has pretty much killed PvE for me. The Maw event in Wayfarer’s was about the only thing I’ve been doing outside of WvW because I could make a couple of gold in a couple of hours of chilling out and playing the game the way I wanted to play.
I would sit in a safe spot at the Kevach lodge and do the wurm events as those came up, then run for the Maw event when that came up. I could play casual and not bother anyone. I didn’t drag any dungeon team down when I would go eat dinner or do dishes. It didn’t matter if I missed one of these events. I could always just pick up again on the next one.
The point is, I could play the game the way I want to play, and make a bit of gold when WvW was a little slow. Isn’t that what we were told this game was going to be? Why do these kittenheads have to nerf every single way that we players can get a bit of gold when WvW is such a gold sink?
The only reason this achievement is going to take time, is because everyone else is trying to get it too. Just keep spamming the AoE.
Only one chest per day now? I’m not wasting any more time on this.
Are you kidding? You just need any 5 out of the ones listed, doing that certainly got a lot faster now.
Nope. I used to have a route that took me about 15 minutes. Even with the recent version where “daily kills” might not be included, or “aquatic kills” was included, it didn’t matter. Best of all I could actually get all of this done in WvW too if I wanted to.
I can’t do that now.
In fact, with the timing of the patch today I was able to do 2 dailies because of the reset. Both of those dailies took about an hour because I couldn’t use my old route.
The reason why the dailies have been acceptable up until now is that they can be done solo and don’t take very long. Anet obviously doesn’t understand this, and apparently neither do you.
(edited by Herr der Friedhoefe.2490)
Just another kick in the head for the “end game”. Oh well…
It’s official. Anet really, really, really hates their small guilds.
RoF is having some serious difficulty taking the Overlook keep, but WSR? So long as you continue to put trebs there against SM, we’ll continue to destroy them. That part of EB is almost a stalemate this week.
I guess it’s a good thing that I like using siege weapons.
Small ninja teams can make a big difference on the lower tiers. The bad guys can’t be everywhere, so one golem at the Garrison water gate can get a lot done before the zerg arrives.
“Play as you like” is long dead. Certain equipment can only be had from specific areas of the game, and you have to grind those areas even though Anet doesn’t make grindy games.
Case in point? I have no chance to get an Ascended Back Piece in WvW, and I detest the fractals. It has been 3.5 months since the Nov 15 patch that brought out Ascended gear and I only just got my first piece, an amulet. Admittedly I didn’t have to do much to get it, just a daily achievement but where are the Ascended rewards in WvW? That is supposed to be the endgame and it’s where I usually play.
Q: How far can a Norn punt an Asuran?
A: Due to a lack of progeny volunteer assistants we have yet to complete even the most basic of test procedures.
I’m seriously considering deleting a level 76 Asura engi. I just don’t like the play style and I haven’t invested a lot in the character in terms of gear or weapons. He’s still wearing the level 35 AC clothing set. I use this character for the daily, just because it’s my only non-80 character.
I haven’t tried Ranger (probably wont either from what I’ve heard), Guardian, or Thief. I also haven’t rolled a Sylvari yet, so a Sylvari Guardian might be next just for the story line achievements, delete that and then a humanoid female thief just for the tight leather clothes. I’m sure you understand.
What bothers me most is that Anet has now shown us twice that gated content will continue to be a part of their development process. They clearly didn’t learn a thing from the fractals fiasco.
Based on the response from Izzy Cartwright I suspect that Anet is not willing to change this decision, no matter what our opinions or concerns are. This thread might as well be closed and players can decide for themselves if they continue to play the game.
Yeah, nice to see WSR out of the dead zone, but if they want to stay out they’ll have to put some hurt on Arborstone too.
The day they remove peg legs is the day jumping puzzle camping gets lame..
Camping the jumping puzzle is already lame. This is guild wars, not puzzle wars.
Tryouts for a WvW guild? l33tsp3ak is probably mandatory in guild chat too.
New content includes yet more jumping puzzles. What does that tell you about the importance of the end content? Everything is working as intended and Guild Wars 2 is turning into Puzzle Wars 2.
Art of War lvl 5 IS req … good luck!
Like I said, the devil is in the details and I guess Anet didn’t learn their lesson about the gated content that was (and still is) only available in the fractals. Small guilds just got screwed out of this content.
There is no in-game alliance communication system outside of the commander squad system. So basically we’ve been told to expand our guild size, or blow guild influence in the hopes that PuG’s will show up to help out.
Obviously we still need more details, but it doesn’t take much to see that this hasn’t been fully thought through, and there are far more small guilds than there are monster sized groups which is why this isn’t going to go away.

It looks like you would have to give up that server pride for a week or two and let Darkhaven move up and out of the bracket. Sucks, but that’s how the Glicko system works. Most of the US servers are now tier locked, and the EU servers are going that way too.
The devil will be in the details, particularly for the smaller guilds (like ours), and like a few others have said, I suspect we’re simply going to be out of luck for a fair number of these activities even if we wanted to do some of them.
More freaking jumping puzzles? Great….
I think this the end of upgraded towers/keeps, at least on the lower tiers. There is a reason why we’re in the lower tiers. We lack players and can’t provide 24 hour coverage. You can tell us “scouting” or “defending” all you want. We just don’t have the players for it.
At least with the orange swords the few people on the maps late at night have a chance to arrive in time to defend. Without the swords the towers and keeps will suddenly flip colors and nobody will notice until it’s too late. People aren’t going to pay for upgrades daily when that’s going on.
If anything this is just going to encourage smaller guilds to go zerging on their own.
A new GeForce driver just popped up.

Like the sign says, 314.07 is available.
Nice bump, because it’s still a problem and probably well off the radar at Anet.
But I’m not holding my breath for a solution.
The targeting system sucks donkey balls. Why am I suddenly shooting at a Moa, at the extreme edge of my range, when an invader from another server is right beside me?
I wont be going back into Arah. That is just not “fun”.
The longer I play this game, the shorter my attention span gets. More 10 minutes dungeons please.
With a name like that you can imagine that we’re a bit, well, warped. We’re a small guild on the Ring of Fire EU server, and yes this is a recruiting post. We play a lot of WvW but try to play the other parts of the game too. We do a lot of map completion events and usually a couple of dungeons per day, but WvW is where we really shine because, well, we’re warped.
You have to understand, we’re not role players but we’re not real good at following orders and sometimes not even the commanders. We tend to go find our own things to do, and we find those things and get ourselves together, and we don’t even need voice comms to do it. It’s wierd, but it works.
Last Sunday night we had our weekly all-out guild WvW event and we left the zerg on purpose. Those guys were attacking the south Bay door on an enemy borderland, but nobody could be bothered to cap the supply camp to the north, and stop the supply yaks. So that’s what we went and did.
Somebody pulled out a golem and we built it, because that’s how we roll. The closest place to hit was the Bay north gate so our mesmers started laying down the portals, for just one golem. We managed to avoid getting the crossed swords and took down the north outer gate, and THEN we called the zerg.
We got a whole bunch of “No Way…”, but we all yelled “Way…” and enough people showed up that we got the north inner door down too. We took the keep and went and sat on the dock, and sat in their boats.

I told ya we’re a bit warped. So anyway, are you looking for some WvW fun? You can type in English? No level requirement, we just ask that you represent us on the Ring of Fire server.
Yarr!!!!
We did this for a while with Charr warrior character, using the same karma skins and guild tabard for WvW. It was fun. We had one female norn warrior goddess among a bunch of beasts. We got noticed and were able to recruit a number of like minded people. Even now at level 80 a few of us still have those skins and we’ve never had a problem with Anet or anyone else.
Credit where it is due. Arborstone brought numbers to EB tonight and took back their corner with ease. It looked to me like they waited until they had the numbers, and then rushed EB, and got their keep back, and the nearby towers and supply.
Bien Fait, Arborstone.
The lower tiers of the EU servers are still seeing blowouts, but we’re hoping.
We weren’t really trying last week either because that was our 4th losing blowout in a row. We’re winning this week, and it doesn’t feel any better. We’re getting some good fights but I can’t see this lasting much longer. We all know what happens when a server hits +695 night after night.
That still doesn’t excuse really poor play.
Yeah, it’s another blowout week for RoF but at least we’re winning this one. On one hand it’s good because players on our server are coming back to WvW, but on the other hand they are mostly just joining the zerg.
The other thing I want to say is, Arborstone isn’t very good even if they can field a reasonable sized zerg. Last night they did a fast take down on our Briars tower with the help of the NPC commander. We got it back minutes later with a couple of catapults under the bridge. Nobody stayed behind to defend their only tower on the map. That’s just wrong, but this story gets better.
Arborstone brought their zerg back to Briar and took it again, but they didn’t kill the catas under the bridge. So we used those catas a second time to take back an undefended (again) tower. If we screwed up like that RoF commanders would have been in capslock mode but this story gets even better.
Arborstone came back yet again, this time with 3 catas of their own, and I personally killed all 3 of them while sitting on just one cata, behind the door at Briars. They have no idea about siege placement. Want to hear more? Ok, I got more.
Even though I got those 3 catas the door was almost down, so I went and hid. Yeah, my main is a mesmer and they didn’t come looking for me. Portal a couple people in, and we took it back so fast we actually surprised ourselves.
In about 30 minutes that tower flipped more often than most supply camps get flipped, and it was all because of some sloppy play by the Arborstone invaders. It would be really nice if defending a map was always this easy.
The best part of this story? Arborstone will never read this, because they’re French.
To win the week you first of all must own your own borderland, so learn to play defense.
You also need to own your own corner of the Eternal Battleground and the various towers, keep and supply points are closely interlocked. Learn to use the sight lines and place siege material to defend your own corner of the Eternal Battleground.
Here comes the push, to the win. You can win the week by owning all of the Eternal Battleground, or by owning one other borderland. Either way, you’ll have to defend those places too, and show no mercy about it.
Make no mistake, zerging is not a defensive move. Playing defense is something else and doesn’t come naturally to most players because it’s easier to run with the zerg.
I hope that helps.
I get up a lot more often on my thief than my mesmer, but that’s because the teleport can be aimed (instead of random for mesmer) and against low skill opponents who let you sit around long enough for the cooldown to ready, you can avoid two stomps.
I understand that people complain about mesmers. I play a mesmer because they are really kitten annoying and can do some real damage, but I rarely hear complaints about the mesmer downed state. I rarely survive going down on my Mesmer unless I have my guildies near me.
The thieves, just seem to have their way in this game, and total solo if they want.
Guild event message on Login, optional of course. A possible response system wouldn’t really be “low hanging fruit”.
Last Seen for friends and guild lists, please and thank you.

I’ll stop now. Thanks for listening, even if you never did.
Edit: Fatfox said, “a storage slot for dungeon tokens”. Yes please.
Edit2: And while you’re at it, “a storage slot for the various gifts”, while we figure out which particular Legendary is actually doable.
