When you play the same note more than 2 times CONSECUTIVELY, the horn will just play the same note continuously instead of making a pause on each note being play.

example:

Suppose I press 3-3-3-3 very rapidly, then the horn will just play the note 3 in a continuous sound.

This bug does not let you play music that requires you to press notes which are consecutive.

Please fix

Earth attunement with staff

  • Skill #2 Eruption with a cast time of 1.25 sec in fact has a cast time of 4.2 sec

Water attunement with scepter

  • Skill #2 Shatterstone with a cast time of 1.5 sec in fact has a cast time of 3.3 sec

The time i measured was with a chronometer and the time was measured when i first click on the skill. The final time was measured when the skill finished.

Maybe add the AoE ring during the skill animation of the trap so you could see when the ranger throws a trap right on top of you and you wouldn’t need to keep eye on a small arm animation. This way traps wouldn’t be as effective to directly throw at enemy and would work more as traps where they have to step on them.

What this would mean you could still lay traps behind obstacles and enemy wouldn’t see them, but if you are in plain sight of them they would have an AoE ring indication for half a second or so where the trap was thrown. Because as it is, you have no idea where the ranger placed the trap at the moment, other than he placed it (if you are lucky to notice the arm fling).

Exactly! how can people disagree with something so simple like this? My guess is that they are rangers themselves and don’t want their fun trap terminated.

why do elementalist have 20 weapon skills while everyone else (except engineer) have 10 weapon skills?

Why do everyone else have access to low recharge skills while the ele skills last for 40+ second cooldown? Why do ele have to use traits to lower the cooldown on these skills to 35 sec cooldown (which is still a very long cooldown)?

A 1v1 match would result in BG dominating every server. 9/10 times, BG’s zerg can wipe an opposing one of equal or slightly bigger number because a lot of our players are seasoned wvw players who listens to commanders when, where, and what to drop. Might, Veil, Water, Bomb, Banners. Not to mention they’re very good at positioning the group to cut through enemy zergs.

What amuses me is that people keep stating that the 2v1 is justified because BG bought guilds — as if JQ and TC did not. I guess whatever makes them feel better about the desperate 2v1 tactic.

You must have missed the last week Bg and SoS teamed up on JQ.

Team up? Last thing I recalled is SoS constantly trebing our stuff and constantly getting in battles against us. You thought it was a team up because we focused more of our resources at capturing your towers and keeps.

Elementalist:

  • Glyph of storms is visible to enemies

Necro:

  • Wells are visible to enemies
  • marks are visible

Thief

  • Caltrops are visible

I understand they are traps, but then again why are marks on the necro shown to enemies? why is Glyph of storms shown to enemies? These are only the few skills that I know are shown as red markers to enemies, but no ranger traps.

A traited ranger with ground targeting traps is OP. He just throws the traps at you and because they are not marked they will hit you 100% of the time.

LMAO a serious threat? I missed the update that buffed us and give us a ridiculous amount of damage! can you please link me to it I would really much appreciate it.

The ele is a major annoyance that is why they jump on the ele. The reason why is a major annoyance is because 70-80 % of the skills are stunts, chill, push, heal.

Tell me what skill with the staff deals a ridiculous amount of damage? NONE!

When you combine skills that deal no damage + low health pool = useless staff elementalist in PVP.

Staff ele lacks own single target damage. You could see me using staff ele in the quarter finals of the ToL. I had to use pirate runes and keep my parrot alive with heals and protection in order to create counter pressure cause i dont have own damage sources. Dps classes like engi, warrior, mesmer etc destroy you pretty easy cause you lack counter pressure and they can easily overextend/pve on you. Also bad to get points back vs guards due to lack of damage. You survive better and bring more support than dd ele but a 5v5 is not large scale enough to make staff ele 1st choice so i will probably go to dd ele or play warrior again.

That is exactly my point! Staff Elementalists do not create counter pressure because we do not have own damage sources. So, basically we are sitting ducks for the attackers, and that is what you see on PvP everyone jumping on the elementalist! For those that are skeptical about this fact, please play an elementalist and you will see that everyone jumps on the elementalist first because the elementalist is:

  • Low on health pool (light armor easy to kill)
  • Deals low damage

I read something about adding “-testVerticalFov” to the file extension, but that does not change the fov.

I think that was made into a permanent change some time after that switch was introduced, if I recall correctly: -testVerticalFov used to change the FOV to what it currently is now.

Do you know if we can modify/add something else to change the fov even more?

Edit: I have seen these hacks on youtube where you can zoom out the camera angle. It looks very pleasant similarly to the zoom out when you fight a dragon boss.
Please add more zoom out on the next patch; I love this game so much but i constantly get nausea because of rapid camera movements. I am sure I am not the only one suffering from this!

I constantly get headache for the close camera view and when I play elementalist and want to place an AOE spell 15 feet above the ground and move the camera towards the target area, the zoom goes to ground level and focuses entirely on my character thus blocking my FOV and covering most of the screen.

Even with all the zoom out available in game i still get nausea when playing the game because of fast camera movements.

I would really appreciate if you guys could solve that problem.

Team support tends to imply that your team is keeping you safe so you can keep supporting them :p

Either way, staff does a lot of damage if you and your team can keep the target in place.

incorrect! staff does very little damage. Look at the skills they are for survival only!

  • Fire attunement: (100% damage, but very little dps)
  • Water attunement: (very little damage possibly in the range of 5%, the rest 95% is survival).
  • Air Attunement: (Damage possibly in the range of 10%, the rest is 90% pushing, speeding, stunt.)
  • Earth attunement: (damage possibly in the 15% rage, the rest is 85% reflecting projectiles, stunt, immobilize.

The staff elemetalist needs a total make over. I am literally tired of constantly curing my conditions and keeping my HP above 50% without doing any damage to the attacker.

If that was not enough, the elementalist AOE attacks are the most obvious and take the longest to cast anyone can predict them and dodge them.

As an elementalist i find myself constantly healing and curing my conditions due to the excessive condition build spammers and dps. Thus the question arises: at what point can an elementalist actually fight back? Are we predestined to be sitting ducks just for the amusement of the attackers? Are we simply target practice? can we actually fight back or just stand there curing our conditions and healing every 2 seconds?

If we are build for team support why do we have such a low health that with 2-3 hits you can be brought down?

It’s called “join squad.” Click the commander that isnt doing horrible and then join squad. It removes all other com tags on your screen, minimap, and map.

Ele underrepresented in WvW needs a buff

In WvW, as an Elementalist, having 14k hp (Which means a pure damage build) is useless to yourself and the team. You’re a rallybot. Period.
If you die to retaliation, means you haven’t mastered the class enough to go full damage.
Change your build to a tanky one and ONLY once you mastered the class, you can try and add damage on the expense of defense, a bit at a time.

The damage an elementalist receives by retaliation in a 60 zerg man is nearly 14k HP.

  • 30 Points on Defense
  • 30 Points on Water magic.

Total HP 17k.

3k HP left is not enough to fight your way with a 60 zerg-man.

If you are running against zergs the size of 20 then that is not the problem, but sergs like JQ and BG is where I do not see elementalist but myself.

The problem is there do not deny it.

Elementalists should be immune or have a reduction to retaliation when your skills hit +5 targets.

The staff elementalist is a joke with barely 14k HP (maximum).

The staff elementalist is an AOE class, this means that it relies on heavy AOE spells. However, some smart designer decided to give elemetalist 14k HP which means that in a WvW battle when the elementalist use the AOE, he/she will die by retaliation damage!

Keep in mind that the damage you are receiving is from the retaliation + direct damage from the enemy.

Retaliation damage by itself can get your HP to nearly 0.

Please fix this!

  • Sometimes, you will use these but the pet or elemental wont come out.
  • Fire elemental wont attack neutral objectives.
  • If you leave them behind, they will disappear.

I could leave with all these bugs before the patch and the 30 min cool down. However, it is unacceptable to have bugs and long re-spawn times.

Fix the bugs or bring the old system.

Why do you have to ruin all the fun in the games?

The area of effects skill wont cast if you are on top of a wall or a cliff. To cast the spells you have to go at the edge of the cliff/tower/wall to cast the spell.

But u should never let the engi getting his number 3 off, he should be stomped before its rdy If u didnt got interuppted by somone else then him.

Ps. Engi downed state need a buff.

That is not the case here.

I am the kind of person that stomps as soon as they are down. But I have noticed that some engineers stunt me 3 times in a row.

Ex: he is down:
1.- I immediately go and try to stomp him but I get interrupted
2.- I try to stomp him again but I get pulled
3.- I try to stomp him again and I get blown away and interrupted by a bomb
4.- finally I get to stomp him.

I m not sure how this bug/glitch is used, but 3 interrupts in a row are not permissible.

The condition removal is mostly dictated by your enemy. You do get removal with the trait + HiS and shadow refuge and blackpowder. If you don’t make it back into stealth you can’t cleanse. You can d/p so it is more in your control but the trait does have weaknesses.

Nop, it does not have weaknesses.

  • The build can survive dps by using the stun breakers/stealth/Black Powder.
  • The build can survive condition damage by using condition removal and stealth.

What is appalling is that it can do all this by just putting 10 points in shadow arts.

The problem is that the trait is in the lowest tier, which allows the thieves to make the build extremely survival and extremely dps since they have 60 points left to put them in power/critical damage.

What about warriors? They can have berserker stance, dolyak signet, cleansing ire trait, all of which can remove condi quickly, plus thieves have low health, taking away their condi removal means making the class quite under powered.

You know I really thought you knew what you were saying.. But as soon as I saw 2 condi’s removed when entering stealth everything became obsolete. You remove 1 condition when entering stealth every 3 secs.

most players would say L2P, because it seems like you get beat by alot of thieves.

The thief can remove 2 conditions each time he goes in stealth, if and only if at least 10 points are spend in shadow arts.

This means that a thief can remove 2 conditions every 3-4 seconds since they are constantly in stealth.

But that is not the end of the story.

Thieves have access to:

  • infiltrator strike on the sword #2 skill, which allows the thief to remove any condition any time he wants.
  • Hide in shadows (the healing skill) that removes burning poison and bleeding (and 2 more condition because they have shadow embrace treated.)
  • Shadow step which removes 3 condition and 3 more condition removed when shadow return is activated.
  • Shadow refuge which can remove up to 6 condition (because they can last in stealth for 15 seconds which means that one condition is removed upon entering stealth + 5 conditions removed in the 15 seconds of stealth.)

By just spending 10 points in survival, the thief can have access to an incredible survival build.

Keep in mind the following:

  • Shadow step will also break stunts TWICE.
  • Infiltrator strike will return to original place confusing the attacker, if you are immobilized, just use infiltrators return so your attacker cannot get to you.
  • Shadow refuge 15 seconds of WTF where Is the thief. (the condition removal skills recharging, him gaining initiative/health).

Now the thief can use the remaining 60 points to make a powerful damage build.

The solution is simple:

If the thief wants to have a survival build, then change the shadow embrace trait to grand master. That will force them to spend 30 points in survival.

Some engineers use a bug that allows them to interrupt you THREE times, when infract, the down skills can only interrupt 2 times.

Not sure how they do it, but if someone knows of this bug abuse and how it is done please report it.

Nigthmare Sword disapeared from my inventory

My nightmare sword disappeared yesterday (1/14/14) from my inventory. I don’t know how it happened or why it happened. The last thing I remember is that I switched the sword for a war horn in the fractal dungeons. I was on the fractal of the giant.

Then after 2-3 hrs I decided to go into WvW and decided to equip my sword back and it was gone.

I know it is just a sword and I could get another one back in just 5-6 days if I do the nightmare dungeon again, but that would not be fair for me. Besides this needs an investigation.

Hello,

This skill (from staff #2) takes 4.7 seconds to cast (from start to finish), when the tool tip says it should only take 1.25 seconds.

The skill takes 1.25 to cast, BUT the after effect takes an additional 3+ seconds.

Neverminding that I don’t see this happening since isn’t that a real life franchise or something (I could see a lottery being implemented in another, more game-related way, maybe)… but…

Why take a “tax” off it ? Just say you win 500g, the end. It’s a video game, not real life where you’re paying taxes on prize earnings to a different entity.

The tax is a gold sink. With all the new updates and drops and gold rewards the economy suffered drastically.

Make a mega millions lottery in game please. Where we could buy only 2 tickets per week PER ACCOUNT and choose 5 numbers from 1-46 and one Mega number from 1-52

so that we have 6 numbers chosen in total. As you can see, the chance of winning the lottery would be so slim that you are more likely to get 10000000 legendary weapons than to win the lottery.

Make the price of the ticket be 1 COPPER so that if someone wins the lottery the price wont be as much, also, make it so that you take taxes off the winning price.

Example,
If you win 1000 gold you take 50% tax and get only 500 gold in winning. Or make it so that the more you win the more taxes you have to pay.

I find it very irritating when I am using my skills and move/hover over them and the long kitten information pops up telling me what this skill does. It is ok for the starters, but for the ones that already know the skills just give us an option to suppress the information.

This is game breaking.

Consider this:

You are alone roaming the world when all of a sudden you encounter 2 or more enemies. So, naturally, you decide to flight. However somehow, you are now stuck by a lone player’s projectile and your speed drops to almost zero. BUT because the 100 guy behind the zerg did not hit you, they can still travel at normal speed and as a result they can reach you with ease.

Now consider this other scenario:

You are alone roaming the world when all of a sudden you encounter 2 or more enemies. So, naturally, you decide to flight. However somehow, on your flight path you encountered NPC that hit you and aggro you so that your speed drops to almost zero. BUT because the 100 guy behind the zerg where not hit by the NPC they can still travel at normal speed and as a result they can reach you with ease.

UGH so annoying, get rid off it on the next patch!

Range skills reaching further than intended

The bug:

  • A range skill has X range.
  • If the character is moving, then it has X+Y range.
  • I have tested this; the red bar under the range skills shows that the target is unreachable, yet it hits the target while moving.

If your game code was build to add up the speed of the bullet + the speed of the Toon, then this is not a bug. However, if this is not a bug, then:

  • Rush from great GreatSword is bugged since you get hit by projectiles while rushing away from enemies.

If the game says to run -repair, and it continues to say this even after running -repair, I’m betting it’s HDD failure/corruption. Firstly, if you’re OC’ing the PCI-E bus or FSB at all, stop it, and see if that helps. If it doesn’t help, or if you’re not doing that kind of OC’ing, then it’s likely HDD failure, and should probably run a S.M.A.R.T. test to verify this.

Yes, it says to run with -repair.

I installed the game on an external hard drive and my game crashed 5 minutes after I lunched it.

I updated my NVIDIA drivers and crashing still happens. I don’t know what else to do since staff refuses to reply and help me with this problem.

Hello,

I was having problems with my game; I was having game crashes ever 10 minutes.

So, I decided to uninstall and reinstall the game again. I took the game out of the hard case for the second time since I purchase it, I put it inside the DVD-room and the DVD-room made weird noises and would not read the Guild Wars 2 DVD. So i took it out and to my surprise, the DVD got a perfectly round, 0.5 inch width scratch. Now every time I put the game inside the computer, it would say “please insert a disk into the DVD-room” In other words, the computer cannot read the Guild Wars 2 DVD.

I tried and tried for like 10 times and finally the computer was able to read the DVD. I am currently, as I type, installing the Guild Wars 2 game, but I am not sure if it will fully install. Anyway, I was wondering if there is some sort of warranty where you could return the 2 DVD and get a replacement.

Clear all of the vents and make sure that your laptop is not overheating.

Im 100% sure overheating is not the issue here. I turned the computer for the first time on one day (the computer was colder than my grandpa) then I went straight to the game and opened it; after 5 minutes the game crashed.

This is not an over heating issue.

My game crashes and crashes, I have sent the report to Anet, and even asked for help but noone wrote me back and noone has been able to fix this. I have had this problem since the recent updates from about 3 months ago. I have been playing the game for 1 year and I did not have the problem before.
