2. Do repair -repair
3. Defrag if you are on HDD not SSD.

Everyone should sign a petition to remove this silly slowdown nonsense. It has several disadvantages in WvW as well as in PvE.

In WvW if you are running away from enemies and a stupid NPC attacks you, you will slow down and the enemies will catch up with you. WTF is that?

Hitman, you clearly never have played a thief at all.
Thiefs are SUPPOSED to be hard to catch, very agile and swift.
This is one of the very few skills that allows for that and is still easily counterable for Condition Spammers with lots of CC’s like chill, cripple, knockdowns/launches.

Other classes like warriors, guardians, eles, the new necromancers, mesmers and a very specific engineer build are way more “extremly overpowered” to say it in your words, than the thief is, as those overpowered mechanics lead to easy instant kills and not just are about condition removal and movement that makes no wins alone…

Not to mention that thiefs are by far not the best class, when it comes down to condition removal and if you try to solve that lack a bit, then you will clearly miss on important stats for either power or precision or you will miss on your important survival skill shadow refuge that can alsos provide a bit of group support or you’ll miss on movement speed by not having the 25% increase..
You can’t have everything…

L2P vs thiefs that use this utility skill and play more of a survival build, because a thief that uses this skill, is purely made for better survival and will therefore lack either in two things of eiher power, precision, speed or an important self heal…

Most people will always use at least 1 signet to lose either not the power or the critical hit chance for doing more damage and if you fight against a true survival thief, then their second choice will always be for the refuge, as they will run 50% fasteer when it stealth and use otherwise for short sprints the swiftness on dodge roll trait together with the signet of agility/precision …

The point here is that Shadow return is extremely over powered. Lets not change the conversation!

A utility skill is overpowered if it has more than 3 uses, lets see what Shadow Return does:

  • 2 stun breakers
  • 3 condition removals
  • 1200 units range evasion
  • 1200 units range evasion AGAIN
    *50 Second cooldown

In total it has 6 uses. THAT IS: on average, this utility skill is equivalent to 3 normal utility skills.

And that is why it needs a nerf.

Imagine the rage it would cause if the warrior Endure Pain utility had these:

  • 2 stun breakers
  • Remove 3 conditions
  • Immune to damage
    AND 50 second cooldown.

At the start of each dungeon instance, I would like an option to party-vote the disabling of cinematics.

If it happens to be enabled, you can skip manually each time.

Sounds it will create more problems, what if one person wants to see the cinematic and the rest don’t want to watch it?

I think it would be better if we could just disable cinematic individually. Maybe an option on the menu to disable cinematic would be help full.

The Impale skill will show as obstructed on a flat terrain with no objects that can obstruct the projectile.

This is by far the weirdest bug I have experienced since it does not happen all the time, only rarely.

The bug is the following:

On an inclined plane if your enemy is down hill and you Savage Leap towards him, you won’t hit him; instead you will leap forward and fall on top of your enemy.

gets really annoying when you use a skill and has no effect on your enemy.

hahaha are you serious? me a condition warrior under water? with only a spear and a harpoon that do not deal condition damage, but do deal 50 damage with every strike!

I refuse to enter the water like that. Not until there is a decent set of weapons that can deal condition damage underwater.

The utility skill shadow return is the most overpower utility skill there is in GW2.

Lets see what this skill does:

1.- Shadow steps by 1200 units (gets away from attackers/misdirects the attackers) and becomes a shadow return.
2.- Breaks stuns
3.- Returns to starting position, hence misdirecting the attacker(es) again.
4.- break stuns AGAIN
5.- Cures 3 conditions.
6.- Cooldown on the skill is: drum rolls………………………………….) 50 seconds

Face palm.

Now lets compare it to some warrior utility skills.

Endure pain

1.- Immune to damage for 4 seconds (but still takes damage from conditions (Facepalm))
2.- Breaks stuns
3.- Cooldown of skill is: Drum Rolls……………………………… 60 seconds (THe kitten is this?)

Fear Me
1.- induces fear on enemies (misses if blinded)
2.- Cooldown is 60 seconds (THe kitten is this? it better be a programing error)

In general, any utility skill has only

1.- An X effect
2.- A Y effect

And that is why Shadow return needs a nerf!

The thief can move an over power distance of 5700 units during the first 4-5 seconds. After the initiative has been used, the thief can travel 900 units every 4 seconds by using shadow shot. with pistol.

The thief can travel 450 units every 4 seconds by using Hearthseeker with dagger.

NOTE: the thief movement skills are 4-5 times faster than any class.

This clearly needs a nerf.

Eating the same food every 30 seconds is ridiculous. In the heat of a fight the last thing I think about is if I have food buff on me.

So, what i suggest, is to make food/consumables stack duration. If I eat 10 food make the buff last 300 seconds.

Allows us to customize our utilities for different battles and make them easily accessible. Example:

I will use the warrior Utilities in this example

  • On utility 7,8,9 we could get “Dolyak signet, Fear Me, Endure pain” and allows us to name that build as ’SOMETHING" for example “survivability utility build.”
  • Or we could get “barserker Stance, Fear Me, signet of stamina” and we could name that as “Utility build against necros”
  • Or we could get “Dolyak signet, balance stance, barserker stance” and name that as “Unstoppable”

Now that we had make those builds allows us to access them easily by introducing buttons on the side of the screen and when we press that build, our utilities change to it.

Do you get what i am talking about? I hope I had expressed myself correctly if not as questions.

I agree, it is enough with cripple and chill that slow your movement by 50% and 66% respectively. We don’t need an auto slowdown when in combat; I hate that mechanic.

My game crashes and crashes, I have sent the report to Anet, and even asked for help but noone wrote me back and noone has been able to fix this. I have had this problem since the recent updates from about 3 months ago. I have been playing the game for 1 year and I did not have the problem before.

With the new update 9/3/13, the prices on materials have skyrocketed. Why did not you anticipated this? why are the materials such as Orichalcium ore and ancient wood plant still rare crafting materials in Or?

I was in Or trying to find these crafting materials and I only found:

  • 2 nodes Ancient wood
  • 2 nodes Orichalchium

The price on ancient wood log was 26 COPPER now it is 15 SILVER and going up! That is an increased of 5670% price.

Exactly, it is likely to connect anyway, but because you are blinded you still don’t have a 100% chance to connect; you should have maybe a 50% chance to connect.

But that is another topic, the current discussion is that the Shout should not miss because it is a shout.

First of all, NOTE that the traits on Dicipline from warrior do the following:

  • Mobile Strikes (X) = break immobilize with movement skills.

The Bug

There is a bug regarding the “entangle” elite skill from the archer that affects the warrior. The bug is as follows:

If you get immobilize by this skill, the traits Mobile Strikes (X) on discipline will not work; you will remain immobilized.

The problem is that it keeps missing every time i use it because I get constantly blinded.

The warrior is shouting “fear me” unless there is a condition that silences (closes the mouth) the warrior, the shout should be hear by anyone!

The condition only blinds the warrior, it does not close his mouth!

This skill should not miss when blinded period.

Shake it off removes one condition!

It gets really annoying when you have 3 conditions:

  • 25 Stacks bleeding (15 seconds)
  • 8 Stacks confusion (15 seconds)
  • 1 invulnerable (5 seconds)

And it removes the condition that is less dangerous (1 vulnerability, 1 venom, etc…)

If it is going to remove a condition at least make it so that it removes very dangerous conditions OR gives us the chance to choose which condition we want to get removed!

Downgrade Ascended Weapons in WvW.

If you lose to someone with 5% better stats than you then you would had lost anyway bad idea.

Really? If the opponent has 5% more health and I was just about to kill him, but somehow he managed to get me all because that 5% health. Do you really think that is fair?

Do you really think that I, with:

  • 11 sets of gear (66 pieces)
  • Over 70 pieces of exotic weapons with different sigils and stats.

Do you think it would be fair to introduce these ascended items and downgrade all mine?

I have no problem if these ascended items are only usable in dungeons, but when it comes to WvW that is a slap on the face for gamers like myself.

My game keeps crashing over and over again at different places on the world. This has happen in the past month and I have been playing for almost a year.

I submit the crash report vya a ticket and i have not gotten a word back on how to fix it!

I’m really annoyed every 10 my game crashing!

The crash says to run the file with -repair

I do it and still crashes over and over and over over and over and overover and over and overover and over and overover and over and overover and over and overover and over and overover and over and overover and over and overover and over and over…….

Wow, I have 5 great swords on my warrior with different stats and sigils… so that means that all my weapons will be useless after September 3? But why? I just want to play the game and have fun!

I just hope that these ascended weapons wont be able to equip on WvW only in fractals or else bye bye I’m done with the game and selling it on ebay for 30 bucks!

Let me start by saying i have 5 lvl 80s, a warrior included and over 8.5k achi points so i have been around.

During all my time in WvW and sPVP i have yet to see a more overpowered build than this.

Skull crack with sigil of paralysis gives 3.75 sec stun which can be followed by a 100b which has a total channel time of 3.30 sec. This usually results in death unless you use a stunbreaker. Thats nice and all except for the fact this combo can be repeated EVERY 7.5 SECONDS due to burst mastery. IN addition, due to fast hands weapon swap = 5 sec cooldown as well as gives adren.

Let me repeat it: You can perform a 3.75 sec stun due to skull crack —> 100b EVERY 7.5 Seconds. I am repeating this before some “pro” warrior comes to tell me to bring stun breakers. I have tried to go against this build with various builds on D/D ele, thief, guard and mis each bringing from 1-3 stun breakers and eventually you run out of em, At this point, you die.

Also, you can add in a shield stun which ADDS into stun duration. It can also help to land a skull crack due to the mobility it provides.

Last but not least, HEALING SIGNET IS EXTREMELY OP. 400 Hp/sec in addition to regen based on adrenaline (2nd minor trait in defense line) makes for quite a ridiculous regen which is unconditional and can be further enhanced by regeneration.

Now, have come flocking in here trying to defend your OP build. I will not be replying this thread because i know most of you have been longing for a buff for so long and now that you finally go it, you wanna clench to it, but at least show some objectivity in your responses

So, everyone should wear melandru runes just for this one particular build in this one particular class…… yeah, that’s just not gonna happen. Silly solution.

I’ve been enjoying this build for the past couple weeks now. It was actually because of this thread that I found it. So thanks Hunter. Unfortunately it won’t surprise me if a-net’s solution will be to add a slightly longer CD to our stuns. Who knows, it may be necessary but I’ll enjoy it till then or till I find a build I may enjoy more.

That is called variety. If you dont like to be stun then use melandru runes, if you like to deal huge damage then use zerker gear, if you dont like to get hit then use tank gear, if you like to deal condition damage then use rabidd gear, if you like to heal then use healing gear…. you get the point know whiny boy?

The only thing in this post that makes any sense is that the Thief doesn’t get a 66% cooldown increase on weapon skills.

The answer, though, is to cause chill to give thief a 66% reduction in the speed they regain initiative. That’s the closest thing to fair you’re going to get.

Giving Elementalists an arbitrary immunity to any condition because thieves have one built into their very mechanic is not balanced in any way.

Thank you for actually giving a suggestion. I was about to propose the same about the slower Initiative recovery!

How about removing initiative and giving the thief a cooldown on their skills just like everyone else?

Do not even try this build guys, 10k health just sucks, 2 back stabs from a thief and you will die.

Heck, I say you could even die with one backstab or even one eviscerate from warrior.

Sorry to say this, but your class is useless… I only use my elementalist to farm on big mobs or the scarlet events

This would be an anti cheating option since we can spectate other players and see if they teleport or use speed hacks.

If you have been killed by someone, make the name appear on the chat log. For example:
You have been killed by XXXXXX.

Also include a console command to spectate the player just in case it is a thief and you cannot click on the player tag. Example: /spec XXXXXX

I hope this gets in the near future. This is a great way to create an anti cheat police.

The condition Chilled does the following:

  • Movement speed decreased by 66%.
  • Skill cooldown increased by 66%; stacks duration.

The thing is:

Thieves have semi-immunity to this skill because they do not have cooldown on their skills.

If this is not a bug or if this is intended, can you please make elementalist semi-immune to blindness, bleeding, and fire? Or semi-immune to all conditions?

This isn’t the kind of game where you can turn yourself into a tank. You showed a video of you standing in one place, doing no dodges, attacks, or damage mitigation skills, taking damage from 4 attackers at once for about 20 seconds, without even any use of protection boon. This is impressive by itself, and yet you’re complaining about taking too much damage.

No, what is impressible is that toughness seems broken; the build that I had was purely a tank. If I have a tank build that is receiving incredible hits then I might think there is some kind of bug with the toughness code.

Wow is right.
Solo Queue is not for 1v1 matches, it is to queue up for a single match where everyone playing is also entering alone, as opposed to team queue, where people can form teams to enter.

Thanks for the report. We are currently tracking this issue.

The warrior is immune to conditions for only 8 seconds for Jesus Christ sake using a skill that has a 60 seconds cooldown for the mother of Zeus sake, and you are considering this “issue” for the father and the mother of Quetzalcoatl sake.

If you guys are going to fix this “issue” then you might as well reduce condition spamming for Buddha’s sake.

As a warrior you have only 2 options to defend against blindness spamming.

1.- Run whenever you are blinded and receive damage while kiting.
2.- Equip shake it off, signet of stamina, barzerker stance and remove 1 or 6 conditions and be fine for 1 second, but then receive another 6 conditions and wait for 60 seconds for your skills to cooldown for another chance to remove conditions.

  • The warrior is the only class with ONE combo field. All the other classes have up to 6 combo fields.

There should be a trait that makes the melee warrior immune to blindness or make the warrior semi-blind.

  • The warrior is a melee class and has to constantly chase the opponent, when you finally get near him you are blinded and cannot connect the hit.

Melee battles against thieves are a joke, I find myself blinded every 5 seconds and constantly my skills go in miss because of this.

The traits “cleansing ire” on defense say that a condition is removed for every bar of adrenaline spend, but when you are blinded the skill goes as missed. So basically, blindness cannot be cured by this cleansing ire.

I noticed on the Death Shroud tooltip that it phrases the grammar incorrectly about the spell increasing damage based on distance. Thought Id let you know :-)

Mezmer confusion stacking combos overpowered

First of all, the idea of penalizing an opponent for using his/hers skills is just ridiculous.; and what is more ridiculous is the fact that mezmers can stack confusion to 20 or even 25 stacks using combos.

When you have that crazy amount of confusion you have only 2 options:

  • Wait for the confusion to wear out and kite the mezmer/ kill the duelist ghost/get hit by the mezmer and his clones/phantasm while you are kiting.
  • Fight the mezmer and receive damage by him AND by using YOUR skills.

Third option is:

  • When you see a mezmer run, and don’t fight.

As a warrior, fighting the mezmer has become a real problem because:

1.- The warrior is a melee class and the mezmer is a teleporting kitten class / hidding class.

2- When the warrior goes and fight the mezmer, the warrior is going to go and bash everything, the clones/phantasms are going to get destroyed and you are going to get conditions.

So, little by little all the damage is going to stack; a little bit from conditions, another little bit from range damage, another little bit from confusion and a lot from 25 stacks of confusion if the warrior decides to use his skills.

There’s a difference between unbalanced and very strong, warriors have had no viability for quite some time, i hate being stunned and 100b’d to death as much as the next guy but seeing warriors happy playing their classes really makes up for it.

You are not playing it right, like I said in the beginning. You can equip melandru runes and Bowl of Roasted Lotus Root for an effective -65% stun duration.

With these runes and food you are immune to warrior’s stun. That is why it kitten es me off when I use stun then 100 blades and cannot connect the 100 blades because stun only last 1 second.
