I hate the new EtD change :/ Mallyx was designed to be a condition sponge for the team and able to spread the absorbed condis to the enemies.

It was a perfectly fun design except the bad heal/sustain. They literally decided not to buff the heal and just go with wiping the entire “condition sponge” idea off.

So we now have a pulsing torment and 10% stats gain. Ok.

One more thing, why does Empowering Misery seems like a half developed Consume conditions of Necro.

I 100% agree with your sentiment. Devs thought people were mad in pve that you couldnt keep the conditions on you which was kind of a missinterpretation. I’d use a Mallyx Ventari rev to take over the roll of a support guard. Maybe they thought it was op but decided rather than nerfing scrap it. The old heal was more “I need conditions to heal” now yeah, its a crappy consume conditions. Most of the Mallyx skills right now are just crappy necro.

Right now I just want the devs to say (specifically Roy) that “we acknowledge Mallyx is undertuned and are going to fix it.” I have yet to see in pvp someone bring mallyx and be on the winning team, it’s that bad. I’ve seen Ventari played well, Jalis doin some pain, but never Mallyx and there’s a reason for that.

Oh and I figure I should note, if it is not obvious, that I only use UA and the heal… the rest of the utilities and the elite are a waste.

Ah you do a full burst from 100 energy. That makes more sense. I only ever used UA too before I gave up on the legend. I don’t mind UA but its pretty much a well of suffering. I really want the other skills to get a buff and the whole legend to get some love. I really like Mallyx from DoA and they really captured him in bwe2 but I get why it was changed but it was my fav legend and I miss it being good. It needs a buff at the least

I’m liking some of these alterations to Mallyx. It really needs a buff to allow condi revs to be viable. I don’t think the weapons are weak so long as they’re complimented with a legend for it. During bwe2 I could get a hell of a damage going with some decent survive to compliment it.

Stronghold Strategy Help Forum

What are people doing in stronghold? I feel like there’s a lot more to this game mode then I’m picking up on. It feels like a 2 point conquest right now with the map gimmick being the mist heroes that people often ignore. It really feels like most people don’t have a clue what they’re doing in SH right now, or at least the people I’ve seen play.

If you have a tip/hint/strategy post it here. I, along with a ton of other noobs, need to learn this map.

Here’s a quick list of thing’s I’ve learned:

  • Door breakers are better than archers, don’t spawn archers.
  • Have some one rush the enemy guards at the start
  • Have someone defend your guards with the trebuchet
  • Heal the lord if you can. It can’t regenerate
  • Everyone else runs supply
  • Spawn mist heroes if you’re on supply
  • When the enemy inner door goes down, send 3-4 people. 5 seems dangerous.

Mallyx is perfectly fine in PvE and my torment stacks get in the thirties on a good rotation (Never seen over 35, though) but tend to stay between 18 and 26, roughly. Runes of tormenting really help. Then there is also the +250 condi damage from getting stacks with that sigil, and all sinister gear. Stacks of might from Glint and other party members keeps you at 25 of that… so you have plenty of damage. You just gotta know how to dodge right (I am still working on it)!

Also, if you just run circles around the mob, and make them move… even a tiny step… they take the movement damage of torment which is about the same as the burning damage you can upkeep. Also, lots of mobs do charge-like things and basically melt themselves into oblivion. Sure, we could do a little more with that trait Roy mentioned to increase standing torment damage but… he might never be allowed to do so.

Regardless, I am quite tired of hearing folks say Mallyx and torment is not viable in PvE

However, yes, I have asked Roy and the devs multiple times (even in my BWE3 feed back thread) to fix those traits… I am not sure what is going on with the progress there but Roy has vanished into the air again

Tormenting runes are way to expensive for me to use in pve. Also that’s just roaming. In dungeons you stack on each other. Of course we’ll have to see raids to see that come in. I’m also not sure how you got 35 stacks of torment solo playing. That’s just impressive.

Regardless, have you seen the damage a burning guard can pull out or a terrormancer? It’s noticably higher than mallyx’s condition damage. A burn guard can get around 12-16 burn stacks which do higher than torment without the need for them moving, a condi engi can do the same and 10 stacks of confusion + bleeds and poisons. A terrormancers fear + chill will do 1.6k/s + any bleeds and burns and poisons which adds up to a heafty damage.

Im also hoping you won’t argue that Unyelding Anguish’s 900dmg/pulse but 1 stack of torment is a little absurd. Feel’s more like a power weapon than a condi weapon. It also makes everything feel so disjoint. Like pain absorption is a support skill, banish enchantment is a condi weapon, unyeilding is power and embrace the darkness is condi, so what the hell? Are we supposed to run cele? I could but the survive from mallyx only comes into effect in pvp so it’s lackluster to do that and a power build will achieve the same results with more damage and equal survivability.

Step 1 bring something unblockable, which most classes have. Im not going to argue that crystal hibernation trait is pretty god kitten annoying though.
Step 2 hit them with conditions, they have literally nothing to deal with them other than one trait, which removes one condition on legend swap. I fought a burn engi on my rev and I couldn’t do a kitten thing against it.
Step 3 focus them, they’re squishy, especially in shiro and if you force all their stun breaks (they’ll dodge once after) they’ll be out of things to do.

Well EtD gives you that 10% stat boost too and it think it pulses more torment than UA before the the energy upkeep goes over 30 which is what UA costs

Why don’t you just wait 6s for it to recharge rather than burn all your energy using EtD? Also it doesn’t pulse more torment and 10% more stats is negligible in comparison spamming UA or using shiros impossible odds or jalis’s hammers

Honestly, I use mallyx in PvE and I love it…

The healing skill is good.

Banish enchantment is handy when there is a troublesome boon like protection on a mob (modniir )

Unyielding anguish is a gruesome skill that destroy pack of mobs in a few second and is sadly more reliable than searing fissure atm. This is a necromancer well with no CD… What else?

Pain absorbtion and embrace the darkness are more situational which is fine in itself.

So yeah, I think mallyx is pretty good in it’s actual shape.

Question 1) what situation do you use EtD for? It looks amazing but isn’t practical.
Question 2) have you used Jalis? He does the same thing and more.

I also don’t know why UA is just a well of suffering with no CD. It’s not worth taking an entire legend for a utility skill.

Definitely this. Right now we lose energy, get skill on CD and don’t actually get any closer to our target.

I wish this were the case as well as for every other class that has issues similar to this.

The one thing that pops at the top of my head is that annoying “No Valid Path To Target” when a thief uses infiltrator strike with the shortbow… and it uses initative and you are in the same place. SO ANNOYING!

That needs to get fixed so badly. It causes life or death scenarios cause you lose that CD or initiative or energy… It’s screwed me over so many times

Pulsating Brilliance. The only condition cure on a Mallyx Revenant, besides Staff. And its a grandmaster.

Not going to argue other points I disagree with but this isnt correct. It doesn’t remove/transfer any conditions from you but instead copies them into the enemy so you both have them now.

I’m okay with the nerf. I felt kitten unkillable with the 4s heal and omnipresent with no icd on Phase Traverse. like you could warp around a map with no issue at all and nothing could run away from you in pvp. I still find people can’t run from revs but at least they can get away to their team before you pounce on them from half the map away. For PvE it’s not amazing, it’s just used for mapping at mach 5, well I just used it for mapping.

I know a lot of topics have been made on this but it’s still an issue. If you don’t know, Mallyx used to be a self condition inflicting legend with the ability to copy conditions on to the enemy and both self infliction and condition copy were removed from the profession since condition spreading proved difficult when conditions were removed from you frequently. Currently, Mallyx’s intent is to be able to keep resistance on yourself and do torment and confusion to enemies.

Unfortunetly, a lot of the corruption line and the mallyx abilites suffered since they don’t really make sense with the change. Some issues, make it too weak, some make it too strong it totally different aspects. I’ve totally given up on Roy changing it back to the way it used to be but it’s not in a good place at the moment and I really want it to be, and it needs to be addressed.

Here’s a quick summary of things that don’t work with the new mallyx: Replenishing Despair, Bolstering Anguish, Pulsating Petulance. These, while aren’t worthless, are clearly for stacking conditions on yourself and could be made better by not being about stacking conditions on yourself. The abilities that don’t make sense with the change are Pain Absorption and Empowering Misery. The only reason to use Pain Absorption would be to get resistance. Why would I ever want my allies conditions if I can’t do anything with them? Embrace the Darkness is really really weak. It’s weaker than the spinning hammers and those also heal and reduce incoming damage. Unyeilding Anguish does more base damage on pulse than condition damage, which just seems strange. It also doesn’t really have a use anymore since it doesn’t do cc anymore (I didn’t like the displace either) and doesn’t do a whole lot of anything for it’s cost.

For PvE I don’t see Mallyx being used, since it doesn’t really serve a purpose. No enemies in HoT or the main game really do any conditions or at least no where near enough to need to bring Mallyx for the resistance. It’s easier to just use the invocation trait that removes a condition on legend swap. The condition dealing ability of Mallyx is also lacking. On a full condi set up I got 4-5 burn stacks by popping in and out of Embrace the Darkness every ten seconds with Diabolic Inferno and spamming Mace 2, 10-12 torment stacks using Mace 3 auto attack and Unyeilding Anguish, and 3-6 stacks of confusion from Banish Enchantment. This may sound good on paper but enemies at melee range, which they have to be for mace+mallyx don’t move and enemies rarely attack. So the damage you’re doing is around 2k/s with conditions. On a dps revenant you can do 2-3k critical hits with sword auto attack so it’s automatically inferior. During the raid I saw the boss needed to take condition damage however, since any other class can do it better and you can bring Ventari to heal teammates it’s going to be frowned upon at best to bring.

For PvP it’s use is entirely to be completely immune to conditions. This makes it a little strong. In the past this was a non issue since if resistance was ripped off you (or you didn’t upkeep it appropriately), you would die from all of the conditions you put on yourself or at least take a hefty blow from it. Now, it’s just used with Herald and sword/shield +staff to make a fairly bunkery pointholder that just spams Pain Absorption when conditions are an issue and don’t even touch the other 3 non-heal skills, since it’s just going to be a waste of energy. The problem with this is that boon rip will kill them, so any necro will down them and they don’t do any damage or have any stun break potential at all, so a bunker guard or a druid can do the same thing, but better. (Note: the condi damage you can pull off with Mallyx Revenant is about 3k/s when you throw everything into offence and ignore defense.)

So now the Mallyx problem become’s apparent. If Mallyx is stronger at dealing conditions, it will be viable in PvE, but overpowered in PvP. If it’s resistance ability goes away it loses purpose since there’s no condition management outside of Mallyx. The only purpose of Mallyx is entirely condition management, which is clearly not the only intention since the resistance only comes from a trait and I don’t have too big of a problem with conditions if I bring Glint/jalis for damaging conditions and Shiro for debilitating ones. I really want Mallyx to be good, but it just isn’t. I just don’t have a reason to bring it.

I really like Jalis, in concept. There’s a lot of issues, very valid ones you guys brought up. Like Rite of the Great Dwarf isnt good enough for 50 energy and a 1.5s CD. It also should not be the stun breaker because that means your energy is soft capped at 50 and there’s no guarantee it will cast, especially if your using it as a stun break. If your going to try a brawler play style your going to need to have a readily accessible stunbreak.

I like the hammers but they need more love. -20% damage over all is sweet but I don’t notice it. The heal is negligible as well.

The heal is also the worst of all. For the tank class it needs to be better. The cast needs to be lower or the heal needs to be stronger, either more hp or more condition removal.

Over all Jalis sucks at condition removal/mitigation, which throws the defence theme out the window. All current bunker builds can manage conditions really well, but revenant can’t outside Mallyx and Glint can manage defence better so why would I ever use Jalis?

That’s the problem with people these days. If you cant kill something, then it must be nerfed.

Sadly turret engies where punished to the point of uselessness because people complained instead of counter.

How could you have countered turret engies?

1. Cele rifle 2kit engie
2. staff ele
3. shatter Mesmer
4. condi Mesmer
6. trap ranger
7. power wells necro
8. MM necro

I guess the OP of this thread wants burn builds to suffer the same fate as the turret engie….which clearly had powerful counters but people were too lazy to learn how to apply them.

And it worked! anet awarded complainers instead of making them adapt. anet punished turreteers coz……

Lets just say that while I didn’t play turret, I didn’t like how it got nerfed and I’ll do everything I can to prevent burn builds from the same fate

I don’t quite agree. Turrets didn’t really have a weakness since the engineer, even though couldn’t cleanse conditions, didn’t have a problem with them since the turrets were immune to them (and critical hits) while dishing out 4k rockets and 2k rifles and 3k thumpers. The only one in your list I agree with is well necro and staff eles, but these builds were squishy. (Cele engi was on par, mms minons died faster, trap rangers couldn’t hurt the turrets and thumper turret could 1 shot every clone faster then you could spawb then while the rocket cut the mesmers health by 1/4. Power ranger would also count as a counter)

Also, no build should require a hard counter to be dealt with. That’s why d/d eles got nerfed, since you needed a cele necro to deal with them.

I don’t see burn builds in the same tier as turrets though since you don’t just stand there while your AI does all the work and be as tanky as possible. It also lacks the cc and immobs turrets did. Any necro worth his salt could reflect the burns back on the guard as well, which I’ve seen people mention. Could burn use a nerf though? For sure. Its pretty much mandatory for a condi build to bring burn right now since its just that much stronger.

Sounds interesting creative unique and fun, unlike mallyx/corruption now. I full on support this.

It would allow for some unique gameplay that fits well with revenant already, I could see taking corruption and not mallyx. I also see a high and rewarding skill cap. I hope roy agrees.

When you are in team fight, especially in high MMR, people rarely try to stomp, because it is easily countered (CC, stealth) + the rezzing is typically too fast. Blinding dissipation hardly helps. So a rezz/stomp is typically a question of “does the damage enemy A puts to finish the guy beats the rezzing enemy B is putting before the other members of B get too low in health to continue?”. So quickness increase the rez speed to beat the enemy cleave or the cleave speed and even allows stomps faster to make them possible. That is the main reason why bunker guards use their quickness elite shout: revive speed!

Well of course in teamfights you gotta be cleaving the enemy since on mes you’re pretty squishy. Distortions what’s great if you really want a secure stomp, stealth aside. The revive speed is handy I’ll give you that but its pretty situational. The other two have broader uses, for both cleave and revive. Slowing a stomp is just as handy as speeding your revive up. And I am coming from a PvP perspective, in the higher mmrs. I’d rather bring time warp as well on chrono for high tier → tournament play since you can drop the CD to 90 with contiunuum split, allowing a ton of quickness for your team and slow on the enemy

I really find lost time/chronophantasmia way better in PvP. Addressing the people that use it for stomping: I find blinding dissipation has you covered for stomps. Lost time is also an insanely mean trait since you can pair it with the major trait to get 100% crit chance and quickness on a mesmer is kinda meh, since your damage goesnt always come from the auto but your bursts and StM requires a shatter which makes a subsequent burst hard.

Time catches up isn’t really that good for PvP. I tried it. Alls well for the amazing amount of team alacrity is better IMO or delayed reactions in tandem with power lock can really tear down someone. Faster clones never really appeals to me unless I’m fighting at a range, where quickness is useful so if you’re bringing one, it would be dumb not to take the other and then you’re bottlenecking your build to be only variable in the major line and that’s bland

Looking at chronomancer traits, trying to cope with the hype for HoT, I noticed some trait issues. Well one. Its pretty minor but I kinda don’kitten

Seize the Moment and Time Catches Up are both notably weaker than the other traits of the same tier, and gonestly, they could be combined into one GM trait. This would leave an open trait slot as an adept trait. A trait to do with clones/shattering. My suggestion for that would be “a clone respawns if it is killed before it is shattered (10s cooldown)” because having no icd would be pretty op. It could even keep the same symbol and it could be named Time and Time Again or something.

The rest of the traits are fine, just those two are pretty weak in contrast.

HoT MC reward Track Exclusivity

I don’t think making unlocking new Mist Champions exclusive to people that own Heart of Thornes is a good idea. Its essentially making the game pay to win, or pay to have fun, since f2p players can’t access them at all. Making a gemstore purchase for them would help change it since you can buy gems with gold or money (like heroes in League of Legends). It just seems like a logical desicion to not lock competive content away from people if you want the game to be competitive, but have a way to make money off of them.

PS: I did prepurchase HoT, I however have friends that have not and during the Stronghold beta this turned them off of buying it.

[BWE3] Revenant Feedback Thread

Another issue I’ve found is in the Devastation adept line. I totally forgot about this but it’s a significant one and its an easy to solve issue.

Two of the traits do almost the same thing. Ferocious strikes (10% crit damage when dual wielding) and Vicious Lacerations (10% dmg when using a sword from stacks). Sure you could use ferocious strikes with mace but it would be weird to do since its a condi weapon but if you’re bringing sword then vicious lacerations would be stronger since its not just critical damage. Either changing ferocious strikes to all weapons or changing vicious lacerations to have an altered effect (for example what it used to be, like attack speed but maybe not that since it doesnt work with quickness) to fix this

I do not play thief. I do not know how to play thief. I have faced thieves. I have fought the greatest thieves NA has to offer: Caed, toker, muffinz, happy kid, and I will say. They’re no where near as scary to fight. Before it was “oh crap a thief Im gunna die.” Now it’s “oh hey, a thief you’re gunna die.” Of course, good thieves can still kick my kitten , just no where near as hard.

I haven’t been threatened by a thief in a while, nor have I seen thieves competing to see who’s the best, and I didn’t think I’d say this but, I miss it. I miss thieves being able to carry teams with being everywhere, hitting key targets, getting out due to their low survive.

Maybe daredevil will bring in a new meta but I honestly doubt it.

Oh no you’re not. I think it needs a nerf, but like, not a big one. I say 5s internal cool down. Now you cant catch thieves/eles that burst everything to get away, or one time in my case, I caught a mes that portalled away. Mind you it wasn’t the full distance but it was still way too far for me to go (like 4 casts). I think upping the energy cost could potentially kill it since you need 30 energy for your stun break and if you go into a fight without it, you’re a sitting duck. In the first BWE, when the sb cost was 35 I found phase traversal was useless and I ended up having to take axe to accommodate the mobility.

the raids should have their own icon that you click and bang your in raid que. raid groups should form like pvp teams.

Oh I like this for dungeons but for raids it would have to be tweaked to accomadate roles like if you queue with cleric gear they would be put in a group that needs one.

I’m not going to comment on the bugs with it. There are many, especially with the ui. I’m also not sure if ui was bugging but it would nice if you could players from the raid, rather than having the necessity for the commander to leave. I also don’t like the need for the commander but I was told they won’t need that on official release.

Raid bosses have a lot of health and don’t do a lot damage. It’s artificial difficulty and its boring. The final boss was very challenging however and was a pretty great concept but it’s health pool, again, is way too high.

Bosses do too little damage. It doesn’t do a lot of damage and the need for a healer isn’t needed outside of the final boss but is needed for the final boss so you have to respec as the raid continues.

With low damage and high health pool the zerker meta is just going to comeback, except maybe with switching to carrion for certain bosses, so that’s a potentially big issue.

There was also an issue with the mechanic of the vale boss where you need to stand on the ring but it can displace you out through stability and it would be nice if you could at the very least use stability to get through.

All in all good concept needs some work though.

This is feed back from a guy that fought with and against but never as, a scrapper:
Gyros kinda suck. You’re all right. Theyre super slow and can’t keep up with anyone, even if they have swiftness.

In general scrappers are quite powerful. Too powerful. Perma stability, a ton of might and a bunch of defensive capabilities. I couldn’t kill you buggers. Pop a thunderfield and rocket charge through it then slam a grenade barrage, and your targets dead (or close too it after 12-20k), all while you’re evading and taking reduced damage. The only weakness is that you need purge gyro or hgh to condi cleanse but theyre not great at that. Really there’s no weakness to scrapper. Very mobile, lots of defence, lots of damage and a ton of control and stability.

That being said I’ve seen a bunch of scrappers that didnt know what they were doing. I fought some that went down like nothing. It may just be that they were bad players cause I could land a full unrelenting assault on them. So maybe there’s something to it but it really feels like scrapper will be the new cele ele

I loved chrono. Its a lot of fun.
Very minor feedback:
Continuum split bugs out if it gets killed. It respawns and when the CD finishes it casts again and closes.
Continuum split can revive me from defeated state but only sometimes. It was very jarring.
Well of action is lacklustre. It just doesn’t do a lot.
Gravity well should pull first. It made being in it wierd and using it wierder.
Well of precognition is amazing, except that the final pulse isnt great. I’d like it to make all allies next attack unblockble.
Dont touch well of eternity. Its perfect.

I really only tried out dh for guard so here’s my feedback:
Its a lot of fun and pretty good.
The trap on disable trait is bugged. It does kittens instead of one.
Puncture shot is, well, silly. I never predict it hitting another person.
True shot is hard to land on targets running away. I’d like the range on this to be increased or be able to move when cast.
Skill 3 seems to be moving at its original speed and I thought it was supposed to be slowed. (Bug?)
After using true shot or hunters ward your bow will be stuck in the cast animation.
Test of faith isn’t very punishing for enemies crossing it.
Procession of blades feels weak, whether or not it is, it just feels weak.
Lights judgement would be nice if we had a DMG deal rather than dmg and does ten hits.
The skill fact for Shield of Courage still says “blocks projectiles” but blocks all attacks.

Feedback part 2:
Rev seems to be in a pretty good place but it still needs some adjustments.
1. Herald feels like easy mode. You have more energy since the utils don’t use energy and they do a fair amount of damage. You also get that facet of nature every 20s.
2. Mallyx isn’t viable or fun. You can get like 10-15 stacks of torment on an enemy tops. That’s not nearly enough damage output with full condi runes for anyone to take into PvP or pve.
3. Sword damage is a little high when you get 25 might stacks, which on rev and especially herald, pretty easy to do. I honestly think there might be a bug here because I was looking at the numbers and they weren’t adding up.
4. Jalis has the worst heal out of all of them. The animation on it is also a little clunky. It looks like its a 1.5s channel but cancels out 2/3s of the way.
5. Staff skill 4 is bugged. It doesn’t cleanse conditions.
6. Phase traversal is powerful. You can go anywhere with it with no CD. I like it but could use a nerf.

I’m excited for rev when it comes out.

I’m commenting multiple times but for zerker/maurader stats (also I’m tipsy):
Might stacking is way to easy and its not balanced around it so if you have 25 might stacks you’re doing great damage. My auto attack does 4k sometimes with the first hit, which is insanely high. Unrelenting assault could hit up to 14-17k. Like in PvP too. If it got nerfed I wouldnt be mad. The problem here is that might stacking isn’t really easy with out herald.
Herald is pretty much easy mode which is bizarre for a “elite specialisation”. I will say I noticed my damage went down significantly if I didn’t have fury but I only didn’t have fury if I didn’t have my f2 ready to cast. I think the trait Rolling in the Mists is friggen strong. I’m going to try a soldier build but I don’t think revenants survive is bad without dragon, unless I tried jalis and not using elite.

Tl:dr taking herald ups your survive and damage and makes it easier to play. It could use a nerf.

good point. Maybe have 3, idk. I don’t like the current one. I don’t mind it but it would be interesting to see that as a change. Or an additional daily when stronghold is out.

Just some changes for pvp that I wouldn’t mind.

  • Change daily win with profession X to daily win with amulet of stat Y. Like a daily Healing power build or a daily power build. Change things up from seeing a lot of 4 of the daily running the meta.
  • Nerf or straight up remove vamp runes. They’re just better than every other rune. Maybe add a replacement rune that does something similar to Signet of Stone or Endure Pain since right now it gives a 3s invuln + 66% movespeed buff at a 60s cooldown (lower than Mist Form itself). It’s just way stronger than any other damage rune. If I feel Im playing poorly I just add vamp runes and all the sudden I’m unkillable with a berserker amulet. It should at least have 75s cooldown. To the thieves that say they need them: you didn’t have them for 2 years until they buffed them, you’ll be fine.
  • Don’t make us wait in HotM with nothing to do. I mean I totally understand waiting for the game to start but I want to wait in HotM where there’s not a single thing to do. Sure I can and do fight the weak npc’s but it’s tiresome. Let us roam the world again or give us something to do. Add a jumping puzzle in there. Anything. Really.
  • Stop locking the screen when the queue pops. I seriously don’t know why this happens. It was a choice and it’s really irksome.

I really like pvp and with the ele/PU nerfs im pretty happy but it’s the waiting and outside (and vamp runes of course)

Bugs

  • Not sure if this is how defiance bars are supposed to work, but they fill up orange, don’t flip to blue, and you can’t CC or have CC count.

Issues

  • DB Health/Armor Not sure, but it looks like DB armor is higher and HP is lower again. Condi damage is destroying them quickly, but power damage takes noticeably longer.

I always thought the defiance bar was supposed to be like that? I didn’t mind cause if it was smaller it would be so easy to break them :/ All the AI’s seem to be weak to conditions yeah, which is bad. They should be soldiers I suppose.

Spiteful Spirit needs a buff for sure. It could get a second effect “Steal life / deal damage when you remove a boon, 350 damage per boon removed” This would give a flat damage boost for boonhate , creating a niche for power builds that use axe / focus, plus adding an option for condi builds to deal with things like diamond skin and providing some offensive sustain.

Oooh I like this idea. Give a boon ripping power build.

Looking at this trait I thought “kitten thats cool,” on second look it was more of “but why would I take it?” I like it, trust me, but its not better than the other two, being Close to Death and Signets of Suffering. I think this trait needs some love.

I’ve been playing around with stronghold for a while and while I like it, I do believe it needs work.

Bugs
- AI dont move on spawn randomly leading to some heartbreaking moments.
- Ossa’s taunt can root you. IE I’ve had a taunt from him followed by me not being able to move, at all.
- You can get/deal more than 25 stacks on players.

Balance
Right now the games not totally balanced for this mode, but will be more so with Elite Specializations and Revenant.
Bunker guardians (shout meta) have a huge advantage right now, since they have stability to cap heroes, grant boons and heals to the pushing minions, allowing to push fast harder and for longer, and are essentially the only way to keep the lord alive. Sure druid will change that but the way it looks, you will need a support guard more than a druid due to stability and aoe quickness+swiftness. It’s good to have a place for support classes but right now guardian is a little to strong at it.
Form Classes (Rampage wars + Signet necros) are also insanely powerful since they can cap with their stability forms and the necros can boon rip stab and rampage wars can knock anything off a point, save for a plague.
Thieves have a huge disadvantage since stealth isn’t very strong in this mode. SR is really only for saving teammates and the lord (if you’re lucky, it’s still an AI and might attack). They also, while being strong, aren’t great at taking out the guards. Although not bad at it, but a powerbow could do the same thing but faster. I’m sure they’ll find a place but right now the system just doesn’t allow for theives. They seem to be best at picking of straggling players or preventing hero caps.

Game Mechanics
These are good but need some tuning to allow for better gameplay and tact.
Archers are still quite weak. They can kill guards quickly but a player can kill the guards at a similar rate and won’t die on rush against a player. They don’t have a lot, or any, use until late game when you’re at the lord.
Guards are also weak. It only takes one player to take a set of two out, even if there is one player there to defend them, even the veteran ones. They’re not exactly scary, they’re kind of like trash mobs from dungeons and go down easily. The only thing they really do is take out door breakers (which they do well).
The lord area is good conceptually but needs work. Mostly in the elite guard section. The mage/archer do little to no damage, the guard barely provides and support and the cleric does damage. For this I’d buff the archer, mage, add a taunt or block or stun to the guard and turn the cleric into a healer that can heal the lord.
Supply is really only for door breakers. Archers aren’t worth it and are for pushing and I feel it’s not exactly the most powerful resource.
Points don’t make sense how they’re built. It seems like its 5 points per minion kill and 10 per player kill and 10 for summon? I’m totally certain but I do know that it is possible to lose by pushing all the way to the enemy lord while the enemy team hasn’t broken your second gate. So this needs some hard rework.
Ending the game is lacking. The timer is too short, and games end too soon to me. The overtime mechanic also doesn’t really work since it should only go into effect if the game’s end result could change, like if the losing team is pushing lord or both are. I’ve had games where we go into overtime but we have a 400 point lead, which doesn’t make sense, since you’re putting yourself at risk to finish the game.

Tell me what you think and try to come up with ways to fix some of the issues listed.
