Even COF3 has a really nasty part (that one where you need to hold an area against waves of silver enemies, and the waves spawn before you even finish killing the last one). No one ever runs THAT one.
I suspect it’s like Final Rest and there’s some glitch making it unavailable.
The problem with confusion is that it’s mostly worthless against monsters but really good against people, which isn’t very good in an environment where you’re the people, everything you’re fighting is a monster, and some of them can put huge stacks of it on you (Reef Drakes) or apply it more often than you can get rid of it (that kitten raven shaman in Snowden Drifts).
It’s a trident not a staff.
The OP knows that, they wish it was a staff.
And I wish it was too, it’s one of the better designs.
Lyssa opens fairly regularly, in my experience. Not as often as Melandru or Dwayna do, but it’s no Balthazar or Grenth.
Normally when you’re transformed for a heart, the effect wears off automatically if you stray from the area it takes place, but a couple of them don’t.
It seems to be a recent bug, since I definitely remember the leopard one turning you back to normal if you left the area on the first couple of characters I did it with.
After completing the story just go “We found these weapons in Arah’s armory, we can tell there’s something special about them and we think a hero like you could unlock their full potential, (insert general idea of how to forge a legendary)”, done. Everybody but the robber barons wins.
Lyssa seems to get opened fairly regularly in my experience (not nearly as often as Melandru and Dwayna, but far more so than Balthazar or Grenth).
The strange thing is that there’s a food subsection under Consumables, but for some reason there’s hardly anything in it.
I don’t know why the wubwub counts for completion if Heart of the Mists doesn’t (nor do the pois in dungeons, actually).
Just make WvW completion its own thing unrelated to world completion. Completing the maps mostly just gives you stuff only usable there anyway.
Have you been to the Chantry of Secrets?
All they did was bring spirit weapons in line with similar skills from other professions.
Everything summoned by utility skills dies in a couple of hits, and this is the problem they need to fix.
(edited by Hyper Cutter.9376)
Like most group events, it’s a terrible slog of a fight and the rewards are terrible (you don’t even get a chest!). Being underwater is just the icing on the cake.
I don’t know what is Anet doing with the spirit weapon nerf. They die in a few hits as many has said in a heated battle, lasting 3-4 seconds max. Their HP is too low.
Congratulations, they’re now on par with every other summon in the game, all of which have that problem. In fact, that “in line with similar skills” is probably the point of the change.
Weapon: Avenger’s Longsword (reward from story line i guess…)
clipping and in hero panel is missing blue blade
Race: Sylvari
Gender: Female
Profession: Mesmer
To add onto this, every weapon with translucent elements has this problem. Parts of the Verdant, Warden, and Priory sets are affected. The two Glyphic sets are also missing their glowy energy parts in the same circumstances.
I’ve got a white tiger-striped charr, but that’s because she’s an Outlaw Star homage.
One sometimes hangs around the swamps in the southwest of Brisban Wildlands.
And I thought it was a joke before…
Chaos Crystal Cavern is some sort of Inquest experiment,
it’s actually natural, iirc, and where they got the material for the reactor in Metrica Province.
I like Azure Railgun.
Primordus on the other hand pushed out the asura
The skritt and sundry non-sapient creatures as well (murellows, skelk, bats, oozes, fleshreavers, etc)
I’ve been finding that quite a few events in the 70-75 zone are difficult to solo which leaves a lot of way points constantly contested.
A lot of the contested waypoints in Orr don’t even seem to have associated events, for that matter, they’re just contested for no apparent reason.
Female human guardian, and the helmet from the Banded set.
When she’s standing normally, it looks just fine, but when she unsheathes her weapon the whole helmet gets incredibly distorted,
Why is the price of something going down supposed to be bad, again?
(no, raptor should not be one)
Hey, if the ogres can have them as pets so can we.
I’ve no idea what’s going on here. In the Hero Panel, the blade is missing from my greatsword and it seems part of the panel itself is gone.
Sylvari, Male, Mesmer, level 10
Weapon: Avenger’s Longsword, level 8, acquired from personal story The Knight’s Duel.
Armour:
Fanged Dread Mask, starter armour.
Velvet Coat, level 5, from personal story A Good Work Spoiled (I think..)
Velvet Hose, level 7, probably also from personal story but I’m not sure which one.
Apprentice Gloves, level 10, from Xee at Kraitbane Haven.
Apprentice Boots, level 10, from Xee at Kraitbane Haven.
The preview window has this issue too, the translucent parts of Verdant and Warden weapons (plus a few others, mostly Priory I believe) don’t show up there even if they work fine in the actual game. Weapon effects don’t show either (the laser blade parts of Glyphic weapons, for example)
LOL at the replies in here. BTW, you can also get armored scales and powerful venom in Southsun.
Don’t like this thread? TFB. Now go farm for me, I’d like to buy T6 stuff cheaper instead of fighting countless numbers of jelly shooting crab monsters.
Where can you farm scales?
Sharks, for some reason. The water south of the island is swarming with them (they drop fangs too, which makes more sense). I don’t know if drakes and skale drop scales, but they logically should, and they’re also in Southsun.
It’s not a bug, the POI is an underwater passage. Go into the water slightly northeast of the fort and you should see the entrance.
As far as I’m aware, Maguuma’s has been working reliably for at least a month.
You will never see a 55 monk or a permasin build in GW2 because the game does not allow builds.
I’m pretty sure stuff like that is why, actually.
120g is perfectly fine.
No, it isn’t. If nothing else, it’s WILDLY out of line with the price of cultural weapons.
Cultural weapons: 9800 karma → 35000 karma → 63000 karma (t2 is about 3 and 1/2 times as much as t1, and t3 isn’t quite twice t2)
Cultural armor: 2.8 g → 7.1 g → 119 g (t2 costs a little over twice t1, then t3 is almost twenty times more expensive than t2)
God no. Some precursors are currently less than 200g even.
Hell, the precursors for the worse-looking/less flashy legendaries and the underwater ones might not even break 50g, in fact I think I’ve seen some of the underwater ones around the 20g mark before.
Pretty sure that’s supposed to be a Spear that got mixed up somehow…
EDIT: Perhaps it is for NPCs? They might have “hidden” types of weapons like this. Anyone seen a NPC with that weapon?
Hylek use spears on land.
Modern society has taught our children that just because you show up to the game, win or lose, you get a reward. Bring back competitiveness and stop handing out rewards like candy. Because when Everybody is special, then nobody is.
…are you unironically quoting a villain to support your argument?
I don’t know why the wubwub counts for map exploration when Heart of the Mists doesn’t (or Southsun, which is at least ON the actual map).
Really, there’s enough things to do in WvW to justify giving it a monthly of its own, I think.
so LAME, the event pops up….by the time yours barely half to the king (still alive and well)…take a few more steps and his health drops faster than is believable, he NEVER stands a chance ….leading to the skrittsburg being closed…and players punished for something completely unavoidable unless you have 5-6 players camping out with the king at all times which is the definition of fun…
just give him a fighting chance kitten
also the monsters in the area spawn WAY to fast, you guys dont have THAT many players, let alone in the area……probably because the monsters spawn way to fast, everywhere
Yeah, this is irritating. At least make the thing attacking him a veteran, I’ve almost never seen enough people in Skrittsburg to beat a champion.
Also, he’s not actually taking a lot of damage at once, boss/NPC health bars in the upper right of the screen are often inaccurate beyond a certain distance.
For some reason, the Beaded Lancea and the Beaded Harpoon Shooter (spear and harpoon gun, respectively) each have the other’s model.
This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this happen, but I bought the spear for its skin so I’m a little irritated (I bought the harpoon gun temporarily for the sake of this post).

Thank god more people are voicing this side of the argument. The weapons are LEGENDARY. what does that mean to you? I think legendary means it’s suppose to be REALLY HARD to get. People need to understand that. And for people saying they arent better and therefore should not be any harder to get. Do you realize you are playing guild wars? Not wow? This game is about skins, not stats.
There’s nothing “hard” about getting a legendary, it’s just a gold grind and dumb luck, and the constantly increasing prices of… well, everything means that the absolute price of making one is getting higher over time and that’s just plain unfair to the people who were treating it (as Anet intended) as a long-term goal.
Hehe Lup with agony, no running from wp, sounds fun but a lot of people would stop doing fractals
…I’m suddenly in favor of this.
The chest of the costumes from the gem store are actually a combined chest+legs piece.
I once saw two Twilights within maybe a minute of each other.
You pretty much have to use the jumping puzzles, the drop rate on badges is as bad as the drop rate for everything else in the game.
I killed 35 people and got 3 badges out of it a couple days ago, that’s unacceptable.
To be honest, there’s very little practical difference between buying the legendary outright from the trading post and only buying MOST of it outright from the trading post.
You’re not naming the slot, you’re naming the species, if you give a name to a pet on land and add the same pet to one of the water slots it will have the same name.
The only time names transfer between species is when you tame a new pet and choose to replace the active one with it, which I think is probably a coding oversight of some sort.
In Slayer achievement screen there is Duke Nukem reference on the description from Minotaur Slayer: “Half man, half animal, all dead”. And Snakes on a Plane reference on Drake Slayer’s description: “Enough of these massive drakes on Tyria’s massive plains”.
Technically speaking, it’s a reference to a quest in Nightfall which was itself a Snakes on a Plane reference.
Why was that changed?
Because nobody used them, I presume.
Yes, basically they were terrible in GW1 and iirc only gimmick builds like bunny thumper/pack hunter actually used them.
So you want primarily quests/achievements in order to get a legendary.
That makes it SOOOO easy that everyone would be carrying around a Twilight. and that would bring down the allure of holding a legendary, won’t it.
Unless you like the skin on its own merits, in which case nonsense like “allure” doesn’t factor into it.
You have to do a little bit of everything to get one
Actually, you need to do a little bit of actually playing the game and a lot of either grinding gold, paying for gold, or playing robber baron on the TP.
I say make the Claw’s chest be guaranteed to give one exotic and one rare, with Tequatl’s and the Shatterer’s giving just the rare (in addition to the non weapon/armor stuff they currently have, like jewels and such).
Maybe increase their respawn timers by a couple hours in response, if necessary, but this would definitely make them worthwhile.
As long as they remain in one of your four slots, they’ll keep their names.
