ANet should remove the daily/monthly AP cap.
Yeah, that, once you hit the cap and get all the low-hanging fruit achievements your AP gain just straight-up stops for the most part (punctuated by the meager AP you get from LS episodes).
Neutral ruins should allow gliding by default, and only follow the standard territory rules after they’ve been claimed.
Some people just don’t understand that some things are not meant to be obtainable by everyone.
Leaving aside everything else dumb about that statement, we’re talking about the elite spec weapon collection here. I’m pretty sure Anet did in fact intend those to be obtainable by everyone.
There’s always the god relics from Siren’s Landing, they’re gigantic.
The footfalls need to last the same time as those of the first generation legendaries, at the very least. As is, they disappear far too quickly.
Yeah, the Legionnaire-set-styled sniper rifle is one of those skins that was never properly available (only as the rifle precursor and through PVP item crafting if you were lucky). It (and a motley crew of other skins that slipped through the cracks) should get a Legacy Weapon reward track, at least, like the armor that used to share their fate did.
wvw has no clear goal besides rival guilds and servers. pips give us an excuse to play. we need tournaments back.
demanding it back. =)
Tournaments. Were. A. Disaster. How many times does this need to be said (by the devs, at that!) before people understand it?
Still waiting for a precursor drop and I have played since beta. Leaves a real bad feeling in my mouth, especially when others have had several in that time.
They kind of implemented a precursor crafting system to solve this problem. It’s… a disaster that “fixes” the problem in a way that still costs you tons of money because that’s Anet for you, but it exists.
Yeah, they’ve already added a lot of the Living World Season 1 rewards to the Laurel vendor and we have in the past been told that they’d love to bring back Living World Season 1 in some form to the game.
If anything I would have expected this backpack to have a chance to drop from the Molten Boss Fractal (as it originally dropped from one of those two bosses) but these kind of loot boxes are popular these days. Especially popular with the companies selling them.
I wonder though, will we get Season 1 Halloween Memory Boxes with say Ghastly Grinning Shields in them?
You have a chance to get the hallowen weapons from the mystic forge already.
You can also get them from wardrobe unlocks.
They really should have had some gliders available in-game, though, that much I agree with. Having literally all of them except the default (the legendary backpack ones don’t count, shut up) only in the gem store was a bit much.
As far as HoT and season 3 is concerned, I never had much issue with fewer waypoints.
Kitten Silverwastes though.
At least we’re getting mounts, so that map will become much less annoying than it already is (not that anyone ever does that kittening map, but will make it easier camping for the mastery points…).
Silverwastes would be vastly improved if they added another waypoint by the verdant brink entrance, at the very least.
Bitterfrost needs one in the hot spring area too.
You could stop trying to gank people in territory they control, as well.
You can’t “undo the megaserver” without affecting PVE. That’s the only place where the megaserver is.
Also what part of “tournaments actively hurt WvW” do people keep failing to understand?
They really need to make a raid section in the mastery menu and throw the current (and any future) raid masteries in it. It’s just there to penalize people for not raiding and it’s incredibly stupid (not that I need spirit shards, but it’s the principle of the thing).
I just want another pass on inanimate objects so old ones are updated to take damage from conditions and be susceptible to critical strikes.
Yeah, that.
Fixing actively buggy attacks with hitboxes that don’t remotely line up with the animations would also help (sharks, charging teragriffs, etc).
The iboga’s also a plant, for the record.
Also, they’re as much of an animal as the fern hound is, at any rate.
in not okay with people that can pick any fight that they want. and then escaping during conflict
When did we start talking about thieves? I thought this thread was about gliding.
Their solution was to give players the means to control the prices which they did when you see that the price is about a third of what it used to be. There really isn’t a supply and demand issue going on at the moment.
I’m not sure where you got this, but I don’t think it’s 1/3 of what it used to be.
I said almost, but after taking another look at it, it’s probably closer to half. Regardless, the price has gone down significantly since they buffed that farm. It’s also become the more efficient way to acquire it outside of buying from the TP.
I will point out that even half the old price is still more expensive than gossamer, orichalcum, and ancient wood combined.
I really fail to understand why everybody focus on beastmode swapping whereas the real issue is the beastmode CD.
It’s because they want to camp in beastmode and don’t like that it’s specifically designed to discourage that.
I don’t even understand why it’s there to begin with you already have a very easely noticable buff on your bar to indicate you’re in beastmode (bright blue).
At this point all it does is make me not want to play soulbeast.
Every super form has a visual effect, this is no different.
I think it makes sense. My only complaint is that there’s so much stuff tied to elite specs that it kind of messes with the whole system of trait/skill unlocks.
I actually think they screwed up in combining skill and trait unlocks under the “hero point” umbrella. It worked better when they were separate, since skills and traits really shouldn’t be in competition with one another; they are separate systems that complement each other, so they should have individualized progression.
There’s no “competition”, hero points aren’t a meaningfully limited resource (there’s enough right now to unlock your HoT spec, your PoF spec, and get almost halfway through a hypothetical third one!)
Some of the ugliest armor ever seen in an MMO.
Not even close.
I’m actually sad that they nerfed several of the world bosses so that they are too face roll now. There should be some difficulty to these massive events.
Honestly, all the world bosses are probably the most balanced they’ve ever been. If they seem weak, it’s because players are stronger relatively than they were when the game launched.
Just delete maguuma problem solved, no one enjoys fighting stacked veteran servers.
You misspelled “Blackgate”.
And this is totally doable, given ANet’s recent history for making major changes to gear, and how they’ve done the exact same thing when adding in Dire to begin with.
That was literally the only time, and only because they removed Magic Find from gear altogether.
I kind of wish the “scaled drakes” (aka crocodiles) were tameable, they look a lot cooler than the sand lion at least.
In particular, I am referencing the trader’s crates that players can buy with little to no effort in the maps. The crates are sold by heart vendors for 5k karma and 5 contracts. These crates contain materials and items that would flood the market such an influx of resources that I see T6 mats falling to single digit silver prices.
I understand this is a beta/demo and will change but I want to bring attention to this now so that this easily on demand resource acquisition does not get accidentally shipped with PoF.
For example, I pulled 40 crates and managed 40 T6 blood, 45 T6 claws, and 42 T6 bones. Another set of 5 ingot crates dropped me 16 darksteel ingots.
How dare Anet make things affordable!
That’s it and it has been like that forever. That kind of toxicity and blind meta-adherence could already be experienced back in dungeons.
The big difference is that you didn’t need to engage with the meta in dungeons, you could avoid the “zerk or nothing” groups entirely and still do the content (albeit slower) because basically any five people can clear a dungeon.
(also, they put the raids masteries in the general HoT section instead of a seperate raid mastery only section, which is really stupid).
I really dislike the Signet of Renewal change, the passive condition removal was a lot more valuable than Anet seems to realize. They should have made it remove more conditions per tick, not removed it altogether.
I really wish that they’d made some pet changes, but they clearly don’t see any need to fix a mechanic they intend to make obsolete…
cough Petless Ranger cough Soulbeast
Sorry having a bad cough today lolz. And to those naysayers… yea u could still parade yr fluffies 24/7. I’ll give it a pat when i passby lolololz
So it’s not enough for vermin like you to whine and cry to Anet until they ruin our class, you have to gloat about it too?
Dervishes are too tied to human culture specifically, and their mechanical aspects are either not in this game (enchantments) or baseline for everyone (cleaving attacks).
Paragons aren’t necessary because guardians are pretty much a paragon/monk combo in the first place.
Does anyone else find it incredibly hilarious that pvers were crying that the new wvw reward ascended was way too hard to acquire and are now crying that it’s all too easy?
I too am unable to distinguish between different people making different arguments.
Why would you want that garbage back, it was horrible in GW1.
Yeah, it’s actively easier to get most PVE rewards (dungeons are by far the worst offenders, but the HoT and LS3 tracks are almost as bad) via reward tracks than doing the actual content, and that’s just plain not acceptable.
Especially since the LS3 ones give meta rewards without having to do all the achievements (many of which are awful) you have to do in the actual content.
For example, there are still plenty of “Katana” style swords and daggers that could be made.
Look forward to that in 2019 when we finally go back to Cantha, then.
Hope they add more plainer, realistic looking weapons too
There’s already dozens of them in the game, nobody ever uses them precisely because they’re boring to look at.
wvw!!!! how come there are no substantial changes in wvw more than some new rewards? where is our new wvw map for example
Considering how people barked and whined about the last map they added to WvW, don’t expect another anytime soon.
Well, I still want a ‘hunter’ rifle-based spec at some point, but this spec looks fun to play, main-hand dagger always looks cool, and it actually synergises with pets, unlike our current cosmic healer spec… Looking forward to it.
Erasing your pet is not “synergizing with it”.
I knew I was forgetting something.
I thought they were done with legendaries?
I don’t know what rock you’ve been hiding under, but they’ve been releasing a new legendary with every living story episode (the current one actually got two).
Only greatsword, longbow, scepter, focus, and warhorn are left now.
From the first Application of damage power damage is already at a disadvantage in the majority of cases in WvW since almost all players run Toughness gear sets and Damage mitigation Runes.
Clearly if the majority of WvW players are gearing themselves to counter power damage (which is literally what you’re describing), then it’s because they see it as a major threat to be dealt with, no?
the real problem is there is barely full and there is full full full like BG which anet dont care about. Server transfer is one way ticket, they let ppl in but they dont let ppl out.
They let people out, they just don’t force them out. And while I’m all for breaking the back of Blackgate, you can imagine how well that would be received.
I’m not a fan of this idea, as it would devalue sigils by turning them into one off buys. Not to mention the added utility of being able to use 10% and night sigils without sacrifice, potentially making Legendary weapons an enforced “meta”.
I hate to be the one to tell you this, but it’s almost impossible to devalue superior sigils more than they already are. Most of them are literally too worthless to even sell on the TP.
There’s also other items which are stupid expensive because they don’t drop anymore, like recipe for Chaos of Lyssa. It currently costs about an order of magnitude what the actual item costs to craft (and those god backpieces aren’t exactly cheap to make in the first place!).
I think the key (lore related) reason it looks the way it does now is so nothing can blow it up. At least not as easily.
Well, that and the Consortium helped fund the reconstruction.
There is ALWAYS going to be a problem with rewards set on a fixed timer. Either it’s “too generous” and people afk for extra rewards, or it’s stupidly unfair, and you get threads like these. In general, players are gonna appreciate when it’s more towards the former than the latter, but really guys. Why is there even a timer in the first place?
Make reward track points and pip gain like the WXP system: you get them INSTANTLY. A few reward track points every time you gain WXP based on what you’re doing, increased by EXP boosters as it works currently, and also a new bar that tracks “pip points”. Get enough and you get a pip, with bonus points based on outnumbered, WvW rank, etc. Boom, you’re REWARDED FOR ACTIVELY PARTICIPATING and get nothing for afking.
IMHO without reward track points and pip progress being instant like WXP, there’s always going to be this issue of the timer being too lenient or too harsh.
At the bare minimum, reward track progress should be based on raw WXP gain (like the PVP reward tracks do with rank points) instead of this degrees-of-seperation participation garbage. That would literally solve all the problems: rewards would be based on active play, and you won’t get penalized because you had to wait out RI on a camp or run halfway across the map to find something to kill/capture.
This seems like a No-Brainer especially as there is a weekly cap to the amount of pips once can receive.
Allowing EOTM to grant pips pretty much cures all the gripes and complaints currently on the table with regard to the current system.
I don’t personally EOTM but it really seems built for those that only care about getting their shinies.
why would they add wvw rewards to a pve map?
I don’t think you know what PVE is…
Most of the old traits were utter garbage (hell, some of the merged ones are still too bad to use!), Anet did the right thing.
When people would rather use a second or third minor trait over a master or grandmaster one, something is terribly wrong.
The cap wouldn’t be so bad if Anet provided us with hundreds of new achievement points a month like they used to do in LS1. But since HoT, they’ve been starving us for points, doubly so if you’ve hit the cap.
I want the final piece of my godkitten radiant set, but I’m marooned just past getting the pants and at the pace they give us achievements, the game might be dead before I can scrape together the 6k points that would take.
