This is kind of a suggestion or kind of a bug. Posts only show the month and day, they really should show the year, as well, as we have passed the one-year mark. Some threads are now posted in, and/or read, with information that looks current (because of the date) but is really a year or more old. Not sure how difficult it would be to implement, but it might be worth considering. Thanks in advance.
What I do not understand is that if you create a support account and solve an issue, they will disable the account therefore blocking you from ever asking help again. My brother had forgotten his account info and couldn’t log into support because it was ‘disabled’ and he couldnt make a new one with his email address because one already belonged to the support account.
So I made a support account under my email for him explaining the problem and they replied telling me that I cannot make any changes for him because my email wasnt affiliated with his account. So now we are in a situation where He doesnt have his info. He cannot create a support account, and I now cannot create a support account. We have just been left in the dark…
If someone else can tell me the purpose of disabling an account while making it impossible to reactivate or create a new one, I would really appreciate some sort of logic
They really should put year dates on the forum posts. This thread is very old.
On topic…you can contact Customer Support by emailing them at support@guildwars2.com at any time. No need to create or use a support account. Your friend can contact support that way. Make sure to include the original ticket number on all correspondence if it is available. Good luck. =)
Hi, I have a question about the game trial and purchasing the game. I have a few friends that are going to give the game trial a try. If they purchase the game afterward, can they simply upgrade their account and keep their progress, or do they have to restart?
I know you generally get to keep progress in most MMOs, but I’d like to give them the correct answer. Please only answer if you know for sure. Thank you.
They can just upgrade their account and keep all their progress, as long as they remember their password and such. They can do it in-game, in fact. =) Or, just add the key to their existing account.

Well, considering those founders left approximately 5 (more like 6 now) years ago, I’m not sure how relevant it is to today’s game.
The site is a bit like the forum, some like what’s going on, and some do not.
Make sure you are using the email associated with your game to log in, and not your display name: CliffHen…..
Otherwise, you will get an error. If you still are experiencing difficulties, try updating your support ticket. Good luck. =)
You need not do WvW, Dungeons, nor Jumping Puzzles for Empyreal Fragments. But, you do have to, at least, run around the starter zones. =P (They drop from those tiny chests. Lol.)

I am afraid I don’t know. I don’t use Mobile Authenticator. But, I suspect if it was, there would be a lot more threads/posts about it.

Although, this isn’t exactly what you asked about, this is the other method of unlinking your account without contacting Customer Support. If you had lost your mobile device, and the button in Account Recovery was greyed-out, you would have to contact CS.

The contents of the Heroic chest (which you said you received) are: Your choice of light, medium or heavy Legacy armor, one 18-slot Mithril box, and 10 boosters. Did you double-click on the Heroic chest to open it?
Gee, I almost exclusively do dailies on the characters I am leveling up. I don’t really understand why you don’t want to use this great opportunity for bonus XP (and Achievement points). Each to their own, I guess. =)

It’s funny. Lots of people asked for trial weekends/weeks/periods and when ArenaNet does do something the players ask for, then they are accused of all kinds of nefarious goings-on. Lol, just can’t win.

It is unfortunate the search feature is broken. Quite some time ago, someone had a problem somewhat similar to yours, and it was solved by some particular keystrokes which change the key functions. I’m afraid I don’t remember what they are. Maybe someone else will know. I think one of the keys used in question was the Windows key. Sorry I can’t be of more help.
Edit: I did a bit of searching, and this might work. If you use a laptop, try holding down the Fn key and pressing Numlock. That is a command for changing your keyboard to Euro or another set, so you might have accidently hit those keys.

Maybe they wanted to make up for the trial site being down for a day. Maybe lots of people were signing up, and the turnover was good, so it seemed like a good idea. Who knows? Do we really care what the reason is? More people playing is always a good thing, is it not?
Haven’t really seen them (just a couple of pix), so I will wait to pass judgement when they come out.
Funny…half the time GW2 is/was funded by the players, and half the time it is only funded by NCSoft, as they control everything.

I couldn’t wait to get out of Ascalon after the searing. Have you forgotten what that place looked like? It seemed to take forever to get to Yak’s Bend on a first character. To me, GW2’s Ascalon looks a heck of a lot nicer than the old Ascalon. Now, Pre-Searing Ascalon was nice, but a bit of a time-travel trip, and really only a tutorial area. Now, I know people stay there, but I sure didn’t on my first few characters.
I think no one really knows what percentage of the playerbase played GW1 with any regularity, and no one knows whether they…or others…are the most loyal to GW2. I know many of the Devs worked on both games, but I know many are new, as well, as the company has grown in the last 5-6 years.
Personally, I am not interested in PvP, GvG or Cantha. I wasn’t hoping for a mini-pet for the birthday gift of any kind. New game, so hopefully, new gift. But a gift is better than no gift.
After one year of the same pets for purchase, it does not seem illogical to release a new set for purchase. I imagine we will see the same thread a year from now about what a conspiracy it is that a new set of mini-pets is released.
Oh, and remember, some of those sporting GW1 titles only purchased the game so they could earn items to use in GW2. Are they loyal to GW1 or GW2? Or both? Does it matter? How about just being loyal to ArenaNet that has enabled us to enjoy one or the other, or even both? =)

I still have the banker golems sitting in each character’s bag. I wonder if I use them now if they will be 5 days or 2 weeks. Probably 5 days.
It’s funny. You get that glitch quite often in Queensdale. Not sure what causes the tutorial boss to show up in the open world. Haven’t ever seen it in Metrica, don’t often visit the Wayfarer tutorial boss area, nor Ashford’s.

My bad, yes, you only get one Rytlock. This is what happens when you blindly copy from the wiki without reading it carefully. Lol.
Also, the wiki needs updating about the banker golem. I looked that up just recently, and it had said the DDE one was 5 days, the gem shop one 2 weeks.
Some people are learning to enjoy these activities just because they are now on the activities list. I had never played Keg Brawl before it was part of dailies. I had only played Crab Toss once, because that was all that was needed for the meta achievement. As I play them more regularly, I am learning about the different activities, slowly getting better, and enjoying them more each time. There are almost always positives and negatives to any implementation of content. =)
You will receive: a one-time glory bonus, a one-time influence bonus, a five-day Asuran Banker Golem, a Miniature Rytlock, and the Summon Mistfire Wolf elite skill. The last three for each character created.
There is never any direct response to in-game reports. That is policy. They do get the reports, and take appropriate action. There is a special thread on the forum for reporting bots, as well. If you feel the need for a response, you must submit an inquiry to Customer Support.

Ok, that ticket was submitted today, October 2nd. You should have received an auto-response. Other than that, it can take up to 72 hours for an agent to respond. If you have not heard from them after 3 days, you can post in the sticky for tickets older than 3 days. Good luck. =)

I am afraid that isn’t a valid ticket number. It should be something in the following format: 13xxxx.xxxx
Regardless, if you have submitted a ticket, you should have received an auto-response right away, acknowledging your submission. Have you checked your spam, junk, etc. folders? Have you logged onto your support account and looked for responses there?

Been over 24 hours, what is the average wait time? I’m really annoyed as to why I was banned. I literally just in the middle of a boss fight got booted, and was “Terminated”.
It is unclear from your post whether you have submitted a ticket to Customer Support about your account termination. The only information you will get about account termination without submitting a ticket is the ‘error’ message you get when trying to log-in (which will display a general reason).
If you have submitted a ticket, you can access your support account and look for responses. And/or update your existing ticket. Support can be contacting at the top of this page (Support – Ask a Question).
Pretty sure that was already known, considering it was self-admitted one of the names was inappropriate.
Not sure what was wrong with the Tequatl name, but the Legendary Q… name is not hard to see why. I’m sure if you thought about it, you could see why.
Not sure if this is the same, but my Light armor has always covered up my Radiant gloves, since the day they were released. Seems such a shame, you can barely see them. Oh, and I don’t wear Nightmare armor.
