Password must be 8 characters long error

Remember, there is a cooldown when trying new passwords. It is about 2 hours, I believe. You may be hitting the cooldown, rather than not creating viable passwords.
As it says, contact Customer Support. Top of page – Support – Ask a Question.
No more skills yet, though they are supposed to be on the way. Not sure about support ‘contribution’…contributing to what? Gear still gets damaged, no matter where you are in-game, if you are defeated. We now have AOE looting. Many new finishers have been added, but you still ‘stomp’.
You probably wouldn’t be pleased.
I don’t think there will be a ‘complete set’. I think they are items like the Zephyr Helm, Southsun shoulders, Molten Alliance gloves. Items in slots you can hide. Those slots seem to get a bit more attention, probably because those are the easier-to-make, one-size-fits-all armor pieces.
Many parts look like ArenaNet did do it. I hope they see it, as well. It’s really very well done.
Guess it’s a matter of perspective. Anything I get whilst just playing the game, and I consider gathering nodes I wander by on my way, or drops and such just playing the game, is free. Coincidental. Non-farming.
Some people never buy gear or mats off the TP, or anything else for that matter. Those people may not attach a cost to everything in-game. I play like that, because it is 100 times more fun for me to get something off a drop or create it myself than buying it. I am sure that sound horrid to others. Lol.
Otherwise, one must consider/calculate everything done in game with a cost/time/effort ratio, and that wouldn’t be much fun…to me. =)
Just as AP says…left of window.
Lol. First of all, you should change your mindset. Gaming isn’t just for ‘guys’. And second of all, I didn’t use any Elementalist skills on my character. I thought I made that clear. Thirdly, I’ve never claimed to be ‘good’, ‘elite’, or anything else. Merely remarking, that the way I, personally, played in GW1 was much the same as it is set up here. Why all the hate? Geez.
Well, it took awhile for mine to show back up.
Lonesamurai – There is no regionlock… You can play anywhere you want
Yeah, but England to West Coast? then jet lag?
I am not sure what jet lag would have to do with it, but my SO flies over from Africa to the US, and…as I said…has no problem logging in, or playing the game. No region-lock is no region-lock no matter where you come from or go.
I had this happen yesterday with a stack of sigils. Took them out of guild bank, and they weren’t on my character, nor in the bank. The log didn’t show them being removed, yet they weren’t there. The odd thing was, the ‘empty’ space in the bank was no longer usable. After a short time, changing zones, changing characters, etc., they showed up in the bank, again. Hopefully, your item will, as well. =)
Also, if you do not hear back from support, you can log into your Support account and check responses there, or update your ticket, or – after 3 days- post in the Sticky thread in Account issues to have someone check on your issue.
Good luck.
Fantastic video. I don’t usually watch linked videos, but I’m glad I did this time. Well done. I enjoyed seeing all the detail, as the action in-game is so fast, it’s easy to miss. Great music, as well. Thank you for an enjoyable 15 minutes. =)
I am pretty sure all videos are posted in GW2’s Twitch tv channel and/or GW2’s youtube channel.
It’s funny. I had my character set up to rarely have to worry about energy management in GW1. Ele/xxx. Very high energy pool – low energy-cost skills. So, GW2’s skill-management seems familiar to me.
Another case of some people want one of the ‘everything you loved from GW1’, and some people don’t. Lol.
It didn’t work for me, or my guildie, either.
And, to reiterate…you can play the game from anywhere in the world. My SO travels from abroad to America quite often, and there is no problem playing, just need to authenticate, if you have that set up. Which, of course, you should.
Have you tried not saving your password in auto log in? Maybe there is something odd going on with that. Or, checking what password is saved in your browser’s tools before attempting to log in. That might be where all the confusion happens in your system.
I had the ‘Texas glitch’…disconnected it….lost all log-ins…refreshed page, and got this:
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
<Error code=“48” module=“3” line=“288” text=“callback (): TypeError: Cannot call method ‘split’ of undefined

Disconnecting ‘Texas’ didn’t log me out, though. Odd things going on with the forums, …and game.
And now, when I go back, I have no log-in IPs shown, Texas or otherwise.
Display names will only be changed for either security reasons (you used your own name), or inappropriate language. I don’t remember it asking for GW1 character names when registering, but it’s been a long time. Your display name seems fine to me. =)
Better than mine. Lol. I don’t think many people understood it would be the name everyone sees, everywhere.
Do you have any screenshots saved from playing your GW1 game? You may find a character name there.
Not at this time.
There is a sticky above for this. =) Might get more attention there.
You can contact Customer Support and see if they might help you. Top of page – Support – Ask a Question. Good luck.
Well, I rarely go out and gather those materials. Very rarely. I get most of mine from salvaging items. My point is that there really is more than the two choices: luck or extreme amounts of gold. Not sure why a goal taking months or even years is such a bad thing. It is ok to be in it for the long haul. Took me several years to get some of the top items in GW1, and I have no problem with it taking me years to get items here.
I understand many, if not most, people would rather not wait, though. I’m just an odd duck. =P
You have to remember….just because it is delivered through the Living Story update patches, doesn’t mean the Living Story teams created or even worked on the content.
To address a couple that Vayne didn’t: I think the LFG tool might be considered an update to the party system, and CP determined which new fractal will be released very soon. I don’t PvP, so I don’t know a ton about it, but I believe they added/changed some things in there with ranking or leaderboards or something.
So, that would be each and every area the OP brought up.
I think it is a choice whether you ‘grind’ for gold to craft or not. I am nearly to 500 on crafting and I haven’t spent a dime on it. If you are in a rush to get Ascended weapons, then you will have to spend gold to get the materials quickly. If you aren’t in a rush, then the materials will come to you as you play. No extra costs.
To me, at least, it’s all a matter of choice.
Just make it so that a forum ban translates into a game ban.
That’s the worst idea i’ve heard.
The forums are a platform for discussion – a user’s behavior on the forum can be and usually is completely different from his in-game behavior. It’s like punishing one thing for another.
Also the real name idea comes at a close second.
From the Forum Code of Conduct:
‘ArenaNet reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to these forums and/or to the game itself at any time for reasons that include, but are not necessarily limited to, your failure to abide by this Code of Conduct.’
Urmaug’s didn’t register even when it hadn’t been done on any character at any time for the past 5 days. So, there is something wonky going on with that one.
Here is the explanation for this particular error code:
Network issue. Failing to get connected to Guild Wars 2 may be caused by the router or by a network server failure. If the problem remains, please contact the online assistance.
Per the wiki.
Transfered Worlds: Everything in Guild Undone?

Here is where it says that:
‘Guilds are not tied to any specific world; all players can join any guild regardless of which world they play on. However, influence and guild upgrades are specific to each world: players in the same guild but on different worlds will contribute to separate influence pools and build through separate upgrade trees. Members that transfer will have to regenerate influence and build new upgrades on the new world.’
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/World#Guilds
Not sure about the log in for Support, it would never let me use mine. I just send emails to support and work with them that way. No log-in required.
I don’t know how difficult it might be to implement this, but here is a suggestion that might be well-received by the playerbase.
If the forum threads could indicate when they have been updated by a Dev post, instead of having to peruse the Dev post thread, it would be very helpful and informative. I know the forum shows when new responses are added to a thread you have read, but showing that a Dev has posted in it again would be great. At least, I think so. Dev posts often bring the thread back on track, as they can wander afield, sometimes.
Thank you, Chris, for all your attention. I am sure we all look forward to hearing what the Devs have to say. = )
I think server communities are supposed to be united. Guilds are enemies in PvE, but allies in WvW? Not sure that is a great idea.
World Transfers Gone Wrong: Pay and Wait?

The cost for transferring is an account cost. You transfer your account, with or without characters, and everything in your account. If your account happens to have no characters, there is no cost. With characters (one or many), the cost is as noted above.

Also, be aware that it is 1800 gems to transfer to Tarnished Coast, or any other Very High population server. Medium population servers are free until October 17, and High population servers are 800 gems until October 17. After that time, all servers, regardless of population, will be1800 gems to transfer.
You must purchase the recipe for each celestial weapon you wish to make. They are not discoverable.

Also, I wouldn’t even list the Summon (spelling error – Summer) Mistfire Wolf Elite Skill under the ‘Soulbound’ heading, but list it with the Golem banker as each and every character gets it, if they purchased the appropriate version of the game.
According to the Devs, some of the content may make a return, either in its original form, or in another form. The next year or so will tell. Welcome back.
They pretty much have to take into account ‘inactive’ accounts, as those accounts can be ‘active’ at any time, and there would need to be space for them. I’m sure if you went on vacation and came back you would want to be able to re-enter your home server.
Yes, I have. Three harvests off a single node. It was my first day of using it, so I was curious how the animation would be for multiple harvests.
This might be better served in the Suggestions sub-forum, as it has nothing to do with Forum or Website Bugs. Good luck.
Odd, I have no problem salvaging my transmuted Zenith weapons. Perhaps, you might contact Customer Support and discuss your issue with them? Good luck.

Maybe he could just ask his friend if he downloaded the GW2 client and is logging into the OP’s account. If his friend is not trustworthy enough to tell the truth, then maybe it would be best to change the password.
Also, I know (at least previously) that logging into GW1 would make the account show up in your friend’s list in GW2 as online (because the accounts were linked). I am not sure that still happens. But, it could have (and might still) affected the security page’s list of accounts logged in.

Medium – Free
High – 800
Very High – 1800
They probably should have included the price of transferring to a Very High population server, just to make sure there was no confusion.
Logged out of what? Which forum page? The forum does require you to re-log in at least once per day. But not for every page. If you must log in to view each and every page, you might try another browser, or check your settings. Good luck.
It says OOM…Out of Memory. How much memory does your friend have, and is he using a 32-bit system?
That sounds like what happened, then. Updating your ticket should solve the problem. Make sure you write out the month this time. Lol. Good luck. = )
Your friend would need to submit a support ticket to get help with his account. You can not submit it for him. Top of page – Support – Ask a question. Good luck.
This may or may not be helpful: https://en.support.guildwars2.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8981/kw/installation
If not, your best bet is to create a Tech Support ticket following these instructions: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/How-to-Submit-a-Technical-Support-Ticket-2/first#post3957
Good luck. =)
Edit: I see you have submitted a ticket, so best to just wait for a response and the help they will offer. I hope it gets cleared up quickly. =)
Oh, I re-read your last post. Are you saying the game is working for you now? If so, gratz, and welcome to Tyria.
(edited by Inculpatus cedo.9234)
Make sure you have no backlogged mail. Delete any mail with envelopes or messages from ArenaNet. The mail counter is often bugged, and a full mailbox is the number one reason items from the Gem store (or elsewhere) do not arrive. Good luck.
