-Ele where i can finally bug zap people with ultra high single target air magic dps as guild wars 1… come on, aint no fire anywhere going to be hotter than the middle finger of dwayna (only one i recall being tied to air)
-Ele offhand scepter ofc (I’m looking at you hodgens)
-Ele Torch, even dual wielded. whats an ele do with water magic and torches? Steam, dehydration, some crock pot-style boiling… rest should be fairly self evident
-Spears and polearms on land all around… maybe javalins but the paragon’s throwing thing of gw1 always kinda made me cringe…. where did you keep all those voltaic spears? (rhetorical question, idunwannano)
-Something…anything that will take my beautiful necro off the meta-hate autokick list
-STAHP PUTTING GREATSWORDS ON NECRO NPCS IF I CANT HAVE ONE btw
-Non-gem store outfits that already exist in the game, Anise, the various norn shaman/havroun outfits espeically
-My mesmer needs that 20 clone spam thing that both anise and kasmeer can do
-STAHP PUTTING UBER VERSIONS OF PLAYER SKILLS ONTO NPCS IF I CANT HAVE THEM btw… especially those 2…they arent even legendary
-Use the FotM observatory to recreate old stuff that no longer exists (in it’s entirety…not some weird, sliced up version as normal fractals), easiest way i know of to bring back LS 1 things, or even pre-changed explorable zones (I’d like to see pre-tower kessex once again)
-Fix Lions Arch
-New dungeons ofc, many, many, many new dungeons
-Less reliance on elite/champ mobs for difficulty, plenty of mob skills in the game circa LS1 that could make some really nasty mob groups for difficulty, even without significant changes to AI (basically the mobs use them as they did in LS1, just mixed groups of those kinds of mechanics)
-Fewer “B.U.F.F” bosses, more boss fights consisting of fighting several lesser bad guys who are able to support eachother
-Better loot incentives in dungeons to kill things along the way rather than just passing it all by. A counter maybe, event trackers? something to say “yes, they took that extra bit of time and therefore get extra goodies for it” be it more rolls on the rng dice (extra drops) or some instance specific magic find buff (that skyrockets hard as you get near having done EVERYTHING available)for the final chest/tokens.
-Way more armor/weapon skins, preferably not gem store, but not as drawn out as carapace/luminescent was
-Dye for weapons/back items/aquabreathers (find me a pretty match for a yellow/black sylvari cause i cant)
-Ascended aquabreather crafting (exotic one in spvp right after your removed uw combat from spvp? rolled my eyes at that one guys)
-Underwold and Fissue of Woe!

Okay, this is more of a wishlist but I still hope a good bit of it finds it way into the expansion lol

Q: No direct trading between players?

Curtis Johnson

Hey guys,

The no face-to-face trade is a real decision and it’s primarily a question of trust (as many of you have noted). But it’s also a decision to protect players from scamming and protect the economy from black-markets. Let’s run through some quick examples.

1) Give something to my friend. – As several of you noted, target your friend, right click the item and select ‘mail-to…’. Done, this works in contact list, guild list, or in world anywhere without having to ‘meet’ them or ‘catch’ them.

2) Get a fair price for an item (anti-scam). – Because ALL trading goes through the trading post we can guarantee that highest bidder meets lowest seller and we can give every player the benefit of current market information.

3) Barter item-for-item. This is the grey area and also the most risky kind of trade because even with UI many items look alike in icon and many social engineering scams take place in this kind of system. It’s a risky trade environment which is why when you support it you have to have these multi-stage UI’s where everyone double-checks everything, and then eventually get’s lazy and stops double-checking and gets scammed anyways.

In the end we decided with super easy access to mail for trusted trades and trading post for untrusted trades that such a system wasn’t worth the risk, complication, and fragmenting the player market off of the trading post..

In testing we’ve found that mail is easier 90% of the time we’d want trade and the other 10% trading post is far safer and avoids drama and thing like random trade windows being thrown at you and lots of other unsavory hawking in game.

Hope that all makes sense.

… was the response in beta.

And they didn’t want a Spamadan redux, as they had when gw2 launched…just saying

my 2 cents: gw1 had more of what made a “game” and gw2 is way more flash….
gw1 was Return of the Jedi, gw2 is The Phantom Menace…

anet screwed themselves real good by dropping almost all of gw1’s most innovative features, trashing the lore of the game as much as possible, making gw2 into just another run of the mill mmo, going nuts with their gem store (I honestly thought..or was delusional enough to think.. that money would make tons of content possible), and in all this their biggest sin was to name it “Guild Wars 2” and thus make a point of instant comparison. If you can bring yourself to forget the “guild wars” part of the name you will find yourself better able to enjoy the rather smooth combat…in 2 week farming bursts followed by the same old content over and over and over…

TL;DR nice game, but naming it “guild wars 2” draws an instant comparison to a far better game and they did themselves a disservice there.

So, the Mistlock Observatory from which we enter fractals of the mists allows us to experience events from “the past” such as the Ascalon fractal, or the Thaumanova Reactor.

Why not add a dialogue/npc to the area that lets us back into other stuff as it once appeared, full dungeon paths etc that have been since removed such as Molten Facility, Aetherblade Retreat in LA, the Twilight Arbor forward/up path, or even potentially use it to relive certain things like Scarlet’s attack on LA.

Since “the mists” are and should always remain unexplained, and the idea is already kinda there, I figure this wouldn’t be a break in lore, and has potential for more content to rotate in and out, even if just to access things that already happened. Drops meant to be exclusive could either be removed or kept at the standard absurdly low drop rates, not everything need stay available permanently, and I imagine some of the possibilities are still in the DAT file (the dungeon instances are still in there as a whole as best I can tell, so rebuilding wouldn’t be too hard i hope).

As for things that are part of the normal fractal rotation, there is no need to remove any of that, was just thinking of a way to bring back some of my old favorite instances and events. Also it gives the possibility of adding things like agony to existing places, recreate them inside the fractals instance but add agony, harder bosses, more mobs, closed doors, different mechanics, whatever it may be.. make it a small test-live for new ideas in old places idk..the possibilities of the infinite mists are boundless

Game Updates: Traits

Inimicus.7162

Here is a fun one, my account seems to be bugged in this new system:

All new characters of mine come already with all traits EXCEPT the new grandmaster level ones already unlocked, I’ve no clue how or why… but in speaking with others it appears to be an anomalous case. That said, if somebody is going to come fix me then they need to have a look at my account loot tables which I swear are worse than they should be (based on fellow party member’s drops).

Back on point though, I feel somewhat indifferent to the speed of trait points per level, while it is excessively annoying to have to level without access to things like passive trait-given movement speed increases, or that extra “umph” the old trait sytem gave, I definitely think having to go find the perks is something that should be saved for master/grandmaster tier trait perks only, since these currently are only available at level 80 anyway, and the rest only hurt people who are trying to get to 80 where they will be more welcome into the content that people actually gravitate to (imo).

Race: Norn
Gender: Female

The hair style clips into my character model when in any stance other than neutral and standing still, just asking that the same fix given to Eir’s hairstyle and the human version of this same one be applied. Those two seem to have been rooted onto the character model at the cost of some of the “flowyness,” but at least they don’t clip into the body, or through it. There is another Norn female hair that does the same, the high, top ponytail with the very large …ornament?… that sets the tail. No screens of that one, but I know it could use a fix too.

The screen is a mash-up of several, and I’m just looking for an end to the body clipping.

PVP seems to have most of the cool armors I hope eventually they’ll also come to PvE.

What.

The fact that people believe this and have up-voted it blows my mind.

I also laughed. It’s just the opposite.

Actually the first statement in the string appears to be 100% accurate as since the wardrobe release I have not seen any way to get this armor at all, and i believe the only way to get it previously was removed. So the statement is accurate in that nobody who didn’t already have it will ever have it…currently. And welcome legendary weapons, and all other previously “pve only” equipment to pvp.

epic, it didnt include the the first of the quotes…

“Yep add it to the long list of armors that PVE players and RPers can’t access.”

Update: getting transformed during a heart quest put the camera back where i feel it is supposed to be (norn female, max height, and the camera pointing at her neck, issue solved)

before it was pointing above the top of her head and that was making me sick to try and visually puzzle out

though i still feel like the visual field is wider than it was before

And I would like the camera even put a little lower to the character if anything, like towards the collar bone, or have it shift with combat/bundle stances

As usual, asking for a redo to be added on top of what’s already there…
Style bullet points on the new light armor set:

Add groin flap to the front and then remove the pants

Make the interior skirt longer, or restyle the interior shorts (whom already dye differently from the rest of the pant legs)

Curve or make a downward V out of that flat waist line, it doesn’t need to be much, but those flat waist lines are boring 10 ways to Sunday, especially considering the bikini top chest piece (TYTYTYTYTYTYTY for making those “sleeves” not cover the gloves, that is a step in the right direction)… or just make a curve out of what’s already partially there (2 basically flat lines offset by a rather angular dip on the front side).

And then the shoulders, they need to extend UP from the shoulder as much as OUT, or even just up off the top of the arms.

Just my bullet points off the set, as always, add more versions, no sense in changing what people have already spent money on.

Also, to the one reply I have while making these posts, if “I don’t think they will make it happen” is the reason other people who agree stay quiet, consider this: after a whirlwind of complaints, Arenanet forced a change of a gem store armor skin (total redesign) against the will of those who bought it for sure. That’s the cash shop we are talking about here, and if they have no bones messing with stuff people pay real money for, they can’t seriously have a hangup about adding a different version of something that costs like 1g. Again, I don’t see how it could possibly be a huge technical hurdle.

Here’s one that perfectly demonstrates to my eyes what is going on, and I’ll let it lay here, but there are plenty more demonstration pics like these. Pay attention to how the shoulders hang on the 2 female models, and obviously the norn male vs the norn female… To the point of my original post and the reply, this is why it’s so hard to find shoulder skins, and while the norn t2 heavy shoulder certainly does suffer the same basic issue, I feel it is compounded into something I can’t stomach by the out of place asymmetry on the 1 piece.

Dont want be negative but you wont probably succes. As its issue probably for minority of people. Personally i also like symmetric armor, even sometimes isnt so bad if its asymmetric (sylvari cultural T3 heavy armor). The only real suggestion is try search for another shoulders with similar design. This lead to other problem i would like to point out (sorry for using your topic :P ).
When you use different armors even with the same dye, the color looks often totally different (mostly during night).

Weird differences in dye channels are one of my many, many gripes about what I feel is supposed to be my endgame…Looking good.
Trying other shoulder armors is what I do now, I actually use the shoulders off the Norn tier 1 armor set, which clashes in style, and dyes differently from the t2 depicted above. Norn females are also at a severe handicap with shoulder armor because they use the same shoulder designs as Norn males, who are basically shaped like gorillas and have no real shoulder or neck… I’ll try to get some pictures together for this one.. it’s another thing I don’t believe a lot of people who don’t care about their armor’s looks really seem to get.
And I don’t know totally how they go about designing their armor mesh and skins, just that it’s really strange looking when I’ve seen people post detailed info about it… But in the cases of out of place asymmetry, I don’t understand why there would be a huge technical hurdle in mirroring the design on the other side of the character. I’ve meddled some in programming, and I know it isn’t mspaint copy/paste easy…but I don’t see how it would be so complicated that 1 guy couldn’t make a change like this in less than an hour.

Suggestion: Aquatic Helm

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Inimicus.7162

Inimicus.7162

Some underwater filters take the appearance of armor helms already. I’m just sad they can’t be dyed the the rest.

actually they technically can if you use the preview window with the breather and dyes, they just never added the UI to let us make the change permanent

Or they make the normal helm upgradeable, so you don’t have to worry about an aquatic helm at all.

That would be ideal. Just graphically altering our current visible helmet would do the trick. As for the breather hiding the helmet, there are ways around that. When they make items like these in other games, some of them have flags that can be set and cause other parts of gear to become hidden (the diving goggles are the perfect example, equipping them causes all you gear to vanish), so if they wanted they could flag the breather to appear underwater and leave absolutely everything else about your helmet intact, clipping issues and everything. And they do have something like this in game because when you wear “sleeves” on your chest armor, 90% of them override any glove item you have on, cutting it off at the wrist. Female pve light armor feathered, tactical, exhalted… all these and more are flagged to cut off the gloves at the wrist because of their “sleeves” which are so thin I feel its uncalled for… different gripe. Conversely female pve medium “duelist” chest armor has sleeves, but they do not cover the gloves…its just a programming flag setting. Regardless, I’m saying they have the technical means to “add” the aquabreather skin “on top” of (or clipping through) your currently equipped land helmet.

There are so many things I would like to see them fix about underwater combat, this being one, but I honestly doubt we are going to see any of it until “Bubbles” comes into the picture because what must be 90% or more of the population appears to have some weird hangup about underwater fighting.

Inimicus.7162

Anyone who has seen my name in these forums knows I have a lot of complaints about armor designs. Since I still believe that looking pretty is the only “endgame” in GW2, I feel it is totally warranted. That aside, I have a specific one at this time.

Norn Tier 2 heavy armor on females. Just one piece is wrong, the shoulder. The entire rest of the set is 100% symmetrical, just for some reason the shoulder was randomly made asymmetric. While I don’t mind asymmetry as such, I have a rather simple test for whether I feel it is warranted when making a costume like these, “Does symmetry look out of place, or just bad on this as a whole.”
I feel if asymmetry is going to be anywhere in the outfit, it needs to be built with that very specifically in mind from the ground up, and not thrown in rather randomly to an otherwise perfectly symmetric set. So I am pointing out this one, and asking that another shoulder piece option be added to that vendor as an option for myself and others like me (many of whom tell me in game they avoid these forums like plague) who like symmetry where it belong, and asymmetry where it belongs.

Sorry in advance for the bad cut/paste work with mspaint

I bought 7 sets of the original flamekissed light armor (4 characters, 4 pve and and 3 pvp sets) thinking they were going to add more cultural skins to the gem store later on. I would be playing a different game right now if there was anything else out there with smooth combat and movement mechanics like these or by a company who hasn’t already already earned my distrust with crap product (elder scrolls, NONE of their stuff EVER worked on any of my machines, andkittenn)com after borking aoc so so badly).

That one is probably the worst, close in second is all that assassins stat ascended gear (7 weapons and 1 armor set) that is about to be nerfed to trash, but since i didn’t actually drop real money, i think the flamescam wins the #1 worst.

And then we need to burn a transmutation charge whenever we want to move from town clothes to a combat look. Not great for roleplayers.

There is no transmutation charge to change outfits or toggle it on and off.
Transmutation charges are for applying new skins to specific armor pieces, same as now.

Yes outfits are all or nothing.
Yes wearable in combat. There will be no non-combat equipment anymore, unless you count tonics.

Does this apply to pre-80 transmuting, because the current system allows it at a cheaper rate (normal transmutation stones) than the level 80 transmuting, and since that option is being rolled into the new thing at 3 old per 1 new, will be a break for leveling in style or is it the same cost at all levels now?

Refund on Existing Outfits

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Inimicus.7162

Inimicus.7162

I have a guildie who is very upset that He spent months making money to buy multiple gem store items such as armor or weapon skins. To him, this feels like he had wasted months of his time on GW2 that he could have been doing other things now that the wardrobe is coming. I can sympathize with him and others who spent real money on the gem store to improve their looks. Just by making it unlimited does not mean their time had not been wasted anymore. I really do have to agree that anet should give refunds to these people if they request it.

So Anet decides that all His changes all the dyes he used on his character, are now account wide. And all the armor skins he bought to unlock it for that character, …are now account wide. He can in other words use the skins he paid Money for… and for free use them on alts… for example, and he has a nerve to be upset?

I Like the changes, it means I can easilly copy over all the skins that My mesmer unlocked, onto my elementalist and necromancer. All the dyes she bought, expensive ones Like Icing…Abyss…. I can save money by just using those On all my alts, not have to pay for each character to have abyss dye… if we do that math, that is a LOT of Gold saved.

I am confused. I do not see why your friend is complaining.

The point is that he spent real money to buy gems to buy the skins, but spent x-times as much as others did who only bought one skin. Anyone who did what he did paid more for the same product. When you spend real money for in game money and something goes wrong anyone would be upset.

I can understand that he is upset. What I am saying is, that he is Not automatically entitled to anything, simply because he is upset.

he CHOSE to buy in game gold with real cash? You stress this over and over. So what?

That does Not entitle him to a refund. Will Anet give him one? maybe they may, maybe they may Not. if they did I would send an email thanking them from the Bottom of My heart… because they do not owe your entitled friend a thing.

If it were me, I would Not refund it, simply because people feel they are entitled to refunds. As I said before… if you Buy a latte from starbucks for $3.99 do you come back the next week, and demand a refund if they are suddenly on sale for 50 cents less?

I feel bad your friend paid real world cash for multiple copies of the same item. But that doesn’t entitle him to a refund, No matter how badly he feels… “s*** happens.”

Your example isn’t even remotely applicable to the situation. There is no real life analog to this situation. The analog to your Starbucks analogy is “I bought some boots on the gem store, then they went on sale a week later.” There’s nothing wrong with that.

That’s also not what happened. What happened is that you bought three copies of a product, two of which have been taken from you as part of a redesign that allows you to infinitely make use of the third as long as you keep paying Anet for the privilege. They are taking it from you and not compensating you for it at all. That’s a problem.

Ok does he suddenly ONLY have ONE of the item? You said 2 were taken from Him. If he Bought three, and now he only has 1. I can see that he has a right to complain.

what happened was the Business Anet, changed so that what was a character bound item is now account bound…

Businesses change their Bisuness Models ALL the time. That doesn’t entitle your friend to a refund. I feel bad that he spent real world cash for these items, but..that doesn’t entitle him to a refund either.

It has nothing to do with a business model change either. See my earlier post about Genth’s helmets. You paid for a product which no longer functions.

This is the truth. Welcome back to xmas 2013 and Flamekissed Version 2.0… clearly they didn’t learn anything the first time.

To put a silver lining in where it really isn’t deserved: At least he isn’t actually losing the money and skins outright the way I did. And this time around they didn’t make a massive slip and/or lie about a bad reaction they had to forum heat… The people losing money here stand a better chance at getting useful returns for what they already bought than people like me who have avoided buying gems and gem store stuff since the xmas fubar….or snafu since they are at it again already.

On my case if they really change my clothes to tonics and remove the dye/mixing options they had, i will send a ticket asking for refund of the gems i spent on this things…

Yet, i have hopes Anet will listen to us and go back on this decision.

I still pray I’ll wake up and my 7 sets of original flamekissed armor will be back in my inventory one day. Or the gold for several lost pieces of t3, etc…

Sadly, I don’t expect anything great by way of refunds… at least this time they aren’t outright switching what I thought I was buying for something I expressly did not.

To expand on the person I quoted, The way the game is broken down, they can likely put a program to query/track deaths in specific regions, but maybe not specific coordinates (depends how much they actually save). Technically though, if they kept enough info, they could track nearly anything in the game to the degree of being able to re-render in inside a shell of the game as an otherwise interactive video. That’s saying that if they had the stuff in place and the desire to do so, they could remake your entire game life such that they see absolutely everything, but so with a free camera option, etc.

Doubtful they keep THAT much info, but it is a fairly sound theoretical possibility.

The new system is great, specially for new players. It’s just gem buyers who bought the same stuff for multiple characters that feel like we have been stolen from.

You’re buying digital barbie doll skins. Let’s be honest here. While you’re free to do what you want with your money. You shouldn’t be angry or shocked when a purchase of digital barbie doll skins becomes worthless.

Least people like xilllllix get to keep those skins, its a bit different when you buy something you aren’t allowed to keep, and are expected to undo damages of its removal with the refund you’re offered.

The illusion of ‘’some threads are negative, people dislike the game’’ is, well, as stated an illusion. WoW have had that for 10 years.

Not saying, feedback shouldn’t be adressed but forums are usually negative since it is the place where people complain.

Exactly. Most of the negativity in a forum can usually be traced back to around 20-30 people.

That’s 20-30 people out of how many that play the game?

I’m in a referall dependant business and let me tell you….a disgruntled customer will tell 20 others that they hate you, while a pleased customer will tell no one.

Another reason my investment in the original flamekissed armor has me voting no faith in anet, it was removed because of complaints on these forums right here, and all the people who then took to the forums (because we knew we were losing money) were ignored outright.

Honestly the only thing that will get me excited with this implementation if we have a way to get the transmutation “charge” in game for more than just the 0.26% daily reward: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Daily#Rewards
Or maybe buy charges with Laurels. Basically something in game to earn them.

Map Completions give them.

Used to be all map completions gave them, and often also gave black lion keys. Not as much anymore except for towns (guaranteed) and the starter adventure zones which I think I still get them from with every completion.

Basically, Anet has put the consumer aka the player base in a very un comfortable position with this title.

A lot of things were promised and many of such promises never came to fruition.

Also, Many players are frustrated with the direction of this game for the past year.

Anet has basically made the player base paranoid and very reluctant to trust anything they do

In fairness I think they are finally starting to realize that changes are needed and required to keep this game a float. So we will see how this all pans out come the feature patch.

I am hopeful – but very skeptical.

Made the playerbase paranoid: Flamekissed armor did it for me. $70 for 7 sets went from the most unique mesh/skin in the whole game to one I might have paid those $70 to see deleted permanently. No reason to trust them at all after that.

The new wardrobe doesn’t actually fix the thing that caused me to buy $70 worth of scamkissed armor in the first place: Norn female armor modeling, lack of quality light armor legs/shoulders in the styles I seek, broken Norn female hair, juvenile faces on ugly human physiques… maybe you disagree, but that’s your thing and leave mine be.

Living world has been a fine experiment but it’s been about 1 year since they put any living world content out that I actually liked. What happened to the people who designed the Molten Facility and the Aetherblade Retreat that have since been sliced up and had their lamest parts thrown into fractals?

Dye channels have never been implemented on weapons, this was part of the staple GW1 system which was designed around looks, not stats. Plenty of nice weapon skins out there, too bad they don’t match well with so many dye combos.

Ascended armor/weapons. Should never have had higher stats than exotic in the first place. Cost too much (about 400-500g each armor set). Cause mayhem on the auction house with materials prices. Require me to sit there and SPAM 1 HARDER in meta events…some people dislike the dungeons more, either way… forces players into content they probably wouldn’t cry if they heard it was deleted from the game.

All recent additions of armor and weapon skins has been via gem store. This is okay for them to do sometimes, but they have overused it enough I feel safe to say they’ve abused it’s presence.

Black lion claim tickets… RNG. From black lion chests who’s drops were recently made worse. RNG is a massive turn off to people like me who have never, ever held a precourser we did not buy.

Precourser crafting isn’t in yet, I recall hearing it was meant to be in late 2013. (could be wrong)

Yea, I have trust issues with this company. I left another game company and refused to consider them for any future play because of these very same kinds of things (except they never managed to screw me directly out of real money by changing something i bought into something i expressly didn’t buy, and then making me pay for the undoing of that with the “refund” they gave… innovative right there.)
I would be more willing to give them a pass on most of that but for the flamekissed scam… and whether you think it was or not, anyone with eyes could have stopped it from reaching the gem store, anyone with sense would have removed it right away, not 2 months later on a forced reskin, anyone with decency wouldn’t have sent a forum mod to lie (check the official post about it, one of those statements can’t be true).

Nope, I don’t trust them, they just happen to have the best mechanics I’ve seen yet in an MMO, something that won’t last forever.

What about the order’s armor? The vigil, whispers and priory, will I still be able to use a priory armor on a character that is a vigil?

And the thief’s starter hood, will i still be able to equip the hood on my ranger like i used to do before?

I would call it safe to assume these will be available account wide since they have nothing against transmuting them all over the place…. this will clean up the process actually.

Won’t bring back all my old living world items or any number of things that I once had but now cost small fortunes (bull/avian mantle, skins that are now in the black lion weapon merchants, etc). Guess I’m going to have to pray for that merchant they randomly announced before it was apparently put into the game lolol

That was my assumption, i lost $70 over it, but it was worth asking anyway.

Deserves a mention that they screwed a whole bunch of their customers over this “feature” thing, even though the way all armors work is exactly the same, and technically they are all designed (mesh and skin) on a human frame.

“Cultural” armors staying racially bound? Didn’t see any mention of that in the blog so it’s worth asking.

Too bad that i doubt this is going to bring back any of those old skins i deleted/reskinned/lost long, long ago.

And it also doen’t actually fix the armoring issues suffered by norn females. (It uses norn male attributes, and makes females armor look weird in many, many cases…especially the shoulders.)

Nice idea and all, too bad it doesn’t actually do anything useful for me.

Power creep in a game with already trivial difficulty is worse.

this one.
and the nerf is really insignificant. because berzerker is still the top damage build.
it is not like soldiers or magi going to be the next meta…

power creep can also be from unintended consequences… this change will hit Assassins stats in the balls, and celestial will also take a hard hit…if not as bad. Then Valkyrie and Cavalier will also be hit… and zerker elitism is going to get worse in pugs because now anyone who just want’s it done will not spare the time it takes to make up more than the already 10% total party effectiveness hit… anet didn’t think this through.

there are huge bunch of people on these forums who don’t even understand the reason for ferocity change…

you think it is about berzerkers? no it isnt, it is not about your precious autoattacks while stacking, hiding behind the zerg, you will still be able to do this.

it is about powercreep.
the powercreep that was introduced with the ascended gear, and made a raw percentage to scale much faster than other stats.
that is why they needed the change and it was inevitable.
the “berzerker” build nerf it just a bonus.

Funny, that ascended % creep you speak of is 1%, thus this 1% from ascended leggings (4% ascended versus 3% exotic) warrants the “10% dps reduction” anet has mentioned?

the correct answer is to make the whole game use spvp style gear… skin, rune/sigil, fin. no more, no less, this would put everyone 100% equal, and anet would just have to rebalance pve for the sudden lack of stats…

Or they could make toughness actually effective against the things that currently make toughness useless (elite mobs and 1 shots from anything in existance)

Instead of 30/30/10/0/0
