I don’t know if you’ll consider this an exploit and whether you’d like to use this tactic but i’ll tell you it anyway as it might be of help. You aggro belka, then run past the bone wall near the deadeye and his goons, once the bone wall breaks run back to him and he no longer teleports meaning you can just melee him without him moving then go behind the strcuture next to him when you get too low on hp, with this tactic you’re always in melee range so don’t have to dodge the one shot attack

Thanks. Right now, tbh, I don’t care about doing a “legit” solo of her so much as getting past her to practice Lupi. I’ll give this a try this morning.

Thank you! So frustrating…. At least w/ Lupi, if I’m downed, I know where I made the mistake. With her, I almost kill her and get downed outta nowhere. I move far away from the aoe circle and still get one-shot’d. Bloody annoying as all hell.

Working on Arah p2 solo, and when I’m fight Belka, her one-shot aoe attack changes direction in mid air to come bite me. Is this supposed to happen? Is there any way around this?

I need some help w/ some fashion sense! I’m a male human warrior, and I’ve got the whole arah set, abyss dyed w/ twilight and Tequatl wings. I’m thinking that it’s kinda bland, even though it looks somewhat cool to me. I like the long cape-type look that I have, but I just don’t know!!!! Seeing a lot of love for the ladies on this thread [much better on the eyes than the dudes imo], but hoping for some help in designing my own personal style!! lol

Any fashion tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hmmm…. Yeah, you’re right. I’ve only seen “speed” videos. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen a warrior not fight him against the wall. If anyone’s got a link to said videos, I’d greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for the responses all. I really appreciate the assistance. I did have a question for the two gentlemen that suggested doing it the “legit” way; What is the legit way? I’m not trying to be disrespectful, just curious. I’ve only seen videos of warriors walling Lupi to solo him, so I don’t really have a point of reference for starting to practice any other way.

I’m practicing my Lupi solo and I’m finding a couple of things get in the way of killing him.

Phase 1: He won’t stay on the wall. He keeps walking around the edge of the wall, and this, of course, messes up positioning for the next two phases. Is there a way to stick him to the wall?

Phase 3: Even when I’ve got him positioned perfectly, the three times I got him to phase 3, he bubbled me or Lupine Blasted me, even when he was up against the wall and I was in his circle. Is this a bug or is there a way to prevent this?

5 hours of practicing :-) Well worth it!

Also, what foods are you guys running? I’m running Curry Butternut Squash w Bloodlust stacks, but would Bowl of Sweet and Spicy w/ precision stacks be a smarter move? Also, as I run Dolyak Signet/Endure Pain [Still learning :-)], would Deep Strikes be mathematically better than Rending Strikes? I’m on warrior btw.

Lol, mine’ll start bringing up “relationship issues” right when I’ve started to get into a dungeon. It’s like she’s got a sensor that alerts her right when I’m starting to get really into something. I can’t tell you how many dungeon/fractal runs I’ve ruined by having to leave to give her my full attention.

Yeah, the scheduling thing is the issue, as my gf will absolutely die if I don’t give her all my attention at a moment’s notice no matter what I’m doing, so I don’t want to waste anyone’s time by starting and then having to go 20 minutes later, which is why I haven’t contacted you in game for more tutoring. I figure that if I can schedule a time where she knows I don’t want to be interrupted, she can go out somewhere lol.

Hello all! I’m hoping that I can get some help with Lupi. I want to be able to solo him, but I can’t seem to get past Belka and the abomination in p2, and I don’t know the (newish) skip in p3, p4 to skip right to him to practice.

Is there someone on here that’s patient enough help me with him? I’m running a meta warrior ascended/exotic and really want to learn more. I’d wanna schedule a time so I don’t interfere w/ someone else’s gaming time or personal life.

Also, a HUGE thanks to Iaharl for teaching me Arah in the first place. He’s a great guy and a great teacher!

I’m looking for a guild that does dungeons a lot. Any and all. I’m partial towards arah and finally soloing Lupi, but I’m happy to run any other dungeon. I need more experience in Fractals, so I’m looking for a guild that does those too.

I’m a lvl 80 Zerk warrior, fully equipped exotic/ascended stuff with lots of experience in dungeons, but want to learn more.

So the tech team wasn’t able to help me, so I’m hoping that someone on here can help me. A couple of weeks ago, Arah started running slower, clocking in at around 16 fps, even when no one was there with me, on autodetect graphic settings. It used to run at 25-30 fps. Lion’s Arch is also lagging, but I’m assuming it’s because it’s packed pretty constantly.

So…. I’m a keyboard turner. This was my first mmo and pc game period and didn’t understand how to play, so I got into the habit of playing whilst not using my mouse very much (I usually place it in the middle of the screen and play w/ right hand on number keys for my 10 skills). Next thing I know, I’ve got 1500 hours into the game and gotten to a point where my skill doesn’t seem to progress past a certain point. I’m starting to realize that if I want to get good enough to solo arah paths, I’m going to have to learn to use my mouse.

I guess I’m asking how to do this. Yes, I know I’m a cleverly disguised newb, but I’m really willing to learn. I tried looking for youtube videos on how to play mmos, but the videos weren’t helpful in the slightest.

Yeah, I missed it due to the phalus measuring contest that people were seeming to have. I enabled the auto attack and it worked much better. Thank you sir!!

When doing my auto attack w/ greatsword on my warrior, my third attack sticks me to the ground. I can neither dodge nor whirlwind attack out of it. This gets me killed on Lupi and other fights many times and I’m hoping it’s not intended and a simple fix.

So, I’m meleeing lupi through the second phase and am wailing away at him w my gs attack and he winds up for his big melee attack, and even though i try to dodge it, the attack frames continue and I get ko’d. I try again, thinking that maybe whirlwind will interrupt the attack, but the animation starts, and he gets me again. This is, suffice to say, very aggravating. I’m wondering if it may be a problem w/ my keyboard not registering strokes fast enough or if it’s just the way that it works w/ greatsword and I should switch over to axe/sword as soon as i whirlwind out of his aoe. Has anyone had issues with this as well? I’m hoping that it’s not a hardware problem…

I know that this has been done to death, but I was wondering if anyone else was having trouble seeing the windup to the pull through the numbers and spell effects. When I can actually see the windup, I can dodge it just fine, but when I can’t, I’m eff’d. Any tips from those better than I?

Interesting… Really want to watch someone solo it to get past that wp location. I seem to pull some spiders every time I get past it and they don’t de-aggro.

You know, I don’t even think it’s Alphard that I’m complaining about anymore. It’s that stupid waypoint after the spiders. I do need to increase my skill level, true, but I don’t see how this path is soloable w/ warrior anymore after this patch. Please, if someone much better than I am would show me how it’s done, I’d appreciate it.

While I don’t understand what exactly ANet was thinking when they changed this path, I do understand that they most likely wanted to make the dungeon harder. Maybe make it less soloable?

However, removing a way point and making a boss cheap (pull that goes through reflects, insta-bombing, etc…) is not the way to do it. The very fact that the way point after the spider run doesn’t show up until AFTER the abomination boss is just… tacky. A lack of oversight, foresight, whatever you want to call it.

Make bosses more difficult by adding stages (a la Lupi) or another means that people much smarter than I can suggest, but not making them cheap. Make runs more difficult, not by removing the wp that allows them to not have to do it again after they’re finished, but by another means.

If you’re trying to drive away path selling, you’re doing the opposite: Those two aforementioned things are pug destroyers, which will increase the price and number of path sellers.

Please fix this, or at least provide a logical explanation as to your thought process in making these changes.

I love Arah. I love running it and challenging myself to melee lupi every time and get closer and closer to soloing him. My guild however, is too scared to run it with me, and pugs are, for lack of a better word, unreliable.

I’m looking for a guild that isn’t scared to run Arah, has guild missions every week and is relatively cool.

I’m a good team player. I’ve got a fully equipped Zerk Warrior w/ Twilight and working my way up to all ascended trinkets. I play pretty often, and I try to run all three paths every day.

I’m in [NA] and on Gates of Madness server, but would be willing to transfer.

I’m not familiar w/ all the skills for engineer, but for arah, stability, swiftness, stunbreakers and a quick dodge reflex are a necessity. There’s a guy on here, Iaharl iifc, who taught me arah, maybe seek him out. He’s a good guy that rocks on arah. I can’t solo the paths completely yet, but after his teachings, I can always survive. Good luck!

So I’ve been looking through the forums, but I can’t tell if anyone’s figured this out yet. At the dungeon vendors, there’s an option to spend 200 tokens to get an “…” offering, used in “dungeon recipes”. Anyone know what these are about? Perhaps something to do with precursor crafting being put into place?

I’m playing a warrior with a 20/25/10/0/15, full knights, but can’t seem to skip mob trash… It blows. Thank you for your response!

So, I’ve been through all Arah paths, but just followed at didn’t learn very much. Dying on trash mob run/skips and kinda sucking at Lupi gets me kicked more often than not. I really want to learn, but no one in my guild wants to even step into Arah, much less show me the ropes. I’ve been studying all of Strife’s Arah videos and know the theory to everything, but putting it in actual practice is another thing. Is there a guild or anywhere I can go to learn from people with more patience than a PuG? Happy to listen and change build/weapons/whatever.

I don’t know where else to put this, so I’ll put this here.

Last night, I conducted an experiment where I placed an additional 116% MF buffs through various items and ran through the FGS champ train for an hour, then ran through it for an hour without the additional buffs. (My base magic find % is 93) The results were incredibly unsatisfying to say the least. No exotics either time, and one rare item for both times, outside of what was in the gilded strongboxes etc., which I’m told is not affected by your magic find %.

I guess what I’m asking is, does MF matter at all? Trying to save for Dusk (which is another matter completely… so freaking expensive), or find it, and it seems like MF doesn’t do anything.

P.S. This is my first MMO, so I don’t know if this type of thing is common or not. It’s bloody aggravating however, and is turning me off the game.
