This doesn’t make any sense… If out of 10 fights I get pitted against teams like Good Fights and I lose 60% of the time… the fact that I CAN beat them 4 times out of 10 means that my team is kitten good, despite our 60% losing streak.

Classes in this game aren’t balanced they’re maintained. They want you to figure out for yourself what’s best to play, that’s why they did the equivalent of the Federal Reserve throwing trillions into the economy in this patch.

These new runes and GM traits are there for you to sort out and redefine the classes yourself. Anet doesn’t really care one way or the other what you play, so long as the system works enough for there to be potential for each class to contribute.

They aren’t aiming for balance. They want you to balance the game for them with your building creativity.

It’s the laziest approach I’ve ever seen to game balance and no wonder the HotM on every server is empty.

With that in mind, you may want to take my words with a grain of salt…

It’s pretty clear that the majority of the community thinks that Rangers (in their current state) needs the most love in terms of buffs. (Heck, we discursively voted on it.)

Now with that in mind… the upcoming changes for Rangers:

Keen Edge This trait now classified as Survival.

Sun Spirit: Fixed a bug that caused the spirit to have a 3 second base burn when triggered by projectile.

Spirit of Nature: Reduced healing per second when summoned from 480 to 320.
Viper’s Nest: This ability is now a poison field.

Trapper’s Expertise: Fixed bug where thrown traps now work placed on certain building.

Lightning Reflexes: This skill now removes immobilize.

Pet: Improved pet responsiveness and pet skills response.

Bug Fixes!

Marksmanship: Read the Wind: Longbow and Harpoon Gun projectile velocity is increased by 100%.

Skirmishing: Strider’s Defense – You have a 15% chance to block ranged attacks while in melee.

Wilderness Survival : Poison Master – Poison you apply deals 50% extra damage. Poison your pet’s first attack when they are swapped to.

Nature Magic: Survival of the fittest – Remove two conditions and gain fury when using a survival skill.

Beast Mastery: Invigorating Bond- Your pet heals in an area when executing command abilities (i.e. your F2 skill now heals in an area)

I’m no expert on Rangers, so if I’m speaking out of line… please forgive my ignorance. But those changes don’t seem… sufficient?

To be honest, they don’t even seem functional with any “meta worthy” builds. (at least in my eyes.)

Am I wrong? I’d be happy to know that I am. I would sincerely hate for Rangers to get shafted in this balance patch and stuck in the dumps yet again.

Hello everyone. My name is Jasher. A little bit about myself… I am very bad at this game… and every other game. Nevertheless, I am really hoping that 4 very good players will carry me on their shoulders to victory.

Some basic requirements I ask of my team:

- Don’t ever ask me to play anything else except DPS Guardian.

- At least have 1 hot chick on the team. (Self explanatory)

- I don’t like taking instructions, so don’t ask me do anything while playing a match. You should be good enough to win while allowing me to run around and do my own thing.

- Scheduled practices are not my cup of tea… I am a busy man and I don’t have time for practice. That being said… if I happen to come online and you have a full party, kick the fifth and send me an invite.

- Don’t ever blame me for anything, even if it was my fault. Find someone else on the team to blame. I am very sensitive.

- Everyone on the team has to be in the top 200 on the leaderboards.

- I need to be the leader of the team. I like pulling rank and bossing people around without taking responsibility for anything… it makes me feel important.

One of the reasons I played GW2 in the first place was the 0 barrier-to-entry for PvP. The ability to instantly reroll try out all classes, and learn all the builds out there.

All the changes made so far just seem to point to migrating the PvP populace over the PvE.

That’s one of the reasons many of us played GW2.

If you put jump puzzles in sPvP I would quit the game. I hate jump puzzles. Like seriously, I really really hate them.

I came home tonight from work, and I can now log in. Someone fixed the problem. Whoever fixed it. Thank you.

We need to have live agents to speak with who can rectify issues in a timely manner.

For the past couple days I have not been able to log on my main character without the game crashing. Needless to say, I’m fairly upset about this.

I posted a complaint on the bug forums.
I posted a complaint on the technical support forums.
I logged a complaint in game on a level 1 alt.
I asked a friend in game to log a complaint on my behalf.
I logged a ticket through the website.
I tried ipconfig /flushdns.
I tried re-installing the game.
I tried a -repair
I tried deleting the local.dat file
I tried guesting on another server.
I tried updating all my drivers.

Nothing works.

I can create alts and play them just fine, but whenever I click play on my level 80 Guardian, the loading screen comes up and then the game crashes.

I am getting the same problem as well. On the Asuran home town.

I keep crashing whenever I try to load into the game on the Asuran city map.

I never understand why people have problems fighting asuras. I use human characters and it isn’t hard. Do you use a crazy high screen resolution or something?

If you don’t need to read animations and encounter only stupid players who don’t know about bodyblocks, then yes, asura size is not problem for you.

I play on a pretty high level. My team MMR is pretty high though my rank has probably decayed due to inactivity. I’ve been doing more solo arena lately.

Nevertheless, playing against high ranked players who play Asura and I still haven’t had any issues at all.

As an altoholic, I feel your pain. I’ll need to take a look at the data tomorrow, find out just how common re-rolling is for PvPers.

Let me put things into perspective for you Justin. Mesmer rerolling has already been nerfed for me. I have yet to use any of the new heals outside of Litany of Wrath since Guardian is my main character.

It has been a non-issue for all the other professions because all the heals suck outside of the new Mesmer heal… hence the nerf to Mesmer rerolling.

This change will only compound the issue for me. Which really makes me sad as I am the epitome of PvP loyalist.

That’s what I was trying to figure out. For one, AH is only good in a team fight, and two you have to give up a lot of other support options to run it. Sure you’re gaining some sustain, however you are giving up support to do so.

There is nothing wrong with pushing far and having the home point defender abandoning home to help the mid fight. Even if the person pushing far loses the 1v1, they delayed the enemy home cap which is still beneficial.

We’re not saying we are going to do nothing because we said we would do nothing.

We’re saying we won’t change direction (from the previously stated plans) because it would put many players at a disadvantage, and on top of that these players would be hurt because they listened to us.

We seriously considered many different options, and doing nothing seemed the most fair. Do you disagree? Keep in mind, more people used boosters than did not.

What about the people who can’t realistically go through all the boosters they currently have?

The people who did use them all up already obviously didn’t have a lot.

I have an honest question for the PvP community.

Why do so many people hate trolls?

I’m pretty sure that if I were to play an online game completely void of trolls, I would hate the game with the fiery passion of a thousand burning suns.

Trolls make me laugh.

Half the reason why I read the forums is in hopes that I would see a post from a really intelligent, creative and competent troll.

Now, I’m not talking about people who deliberately blow games for others, or people who make racist/bigoted comments to tear others down… not that kind of troll.

I’m talking about the really witty and clever smart alec who makes me crack up at my seat. Or the really silly guy who spouts random gibberish and behaves as if he’s mentally defective.

I love trolls.
