I am a dancer. I enjoy doing dances and singing songs. +1
Have you tried running a fractal with a bunch of necros/bowbear rangers instead of warrior/guardian/elementalists/mesmers?… its a torture, even if the necros aren’t bad, it takes a million years to kill anything.
As someone who has run fracs with 4 necros & 1 ranger(not bearbow). Going through dredge was one of the smoothest runs ever.
Was a quicker run than many pugs I’ve been in.
give me 4 power necros over eles who keep going down ANY day. And necros oover wars who think they know everything and are the only class worth playing.
_
you dont play a necro do you?no just no necros are crap , they have awful cleave dmng , they don’t have as many dmng amplifiers as ele they dont have the usefull utility that wars or thief have they are a sub par class
power necros when properly build are a better option them something awfull in pve like bearbow or condi builds but they are still subpar at best to say otherwise is just trolling or not getting game mechanics, srry scrub

All three of those classes do well with the right build.
I sent you a message. Thanks.
Show ranks again pls
I’m pretty neutral on this.
What do you guys think about Wildstar?
I actually enjoy the game…
Please remove all the displays of PvE levels. The most irrelevant thing in the history of irrelevants.
Strangely enough, I actually like that it is displayed.
warrior, mesmer, thief, engi, and ele all have these in their go-to rune options.
what other rune is this universally used?
it’s used even more now than lyssa was pre-patch (but not by much)
this is coming from someone using these runes right now. i have them on a warrior with a celestial amulet, and my DPS is similar to pre-patch zerker + lyssa, but with much more survivability and condition damage on top.
it should get shaved a bit, mostly just the #6, and celestial might need about 3% stat reduction as well while we’re at it.
Personally I don’t agree that they need a shave. They aren’t super powerful or broken to fight against. It’s like you’re asking for a nerf based on personal feelings.
Grouch is really good. He is usually in the top 50 on team arenas. He plays an Engineer. He is also a very good singer and dancer.
If that’s how the rune read, which would be virtually true, does it not sound a bit OP?
Let’s not talk about how something sounds, and let’s talk about how something actually is.
Besides Warrior, do you have a hard time fighting against other classes who use strength runes?
I don’t…
these classes can keep might on themselves all the time without the rune’s help. the rune just increases the # of stacks by about 25% but other runes do that as well (hoelbrak and fire do the same exact thing). The really OP part is +7% damage while under the effect of might. The problem is:
while under the effects of might = always
Usually when someone says something is OP, it means that well.. they are literally “overpowered”. I don’t use these runes, and I fight classes who use these runes, and they don’t feel overpwoered to fight against. I fail to see the logic and the reasoning in this thread.
Again… Warriors I feel are over the top, but I don’t think the runes are to blame.
The simple answer: I’m not going to pay money so that some guy can run a skill-less troll 1v1 build and get $500, if the tournament was 2v2 or 3v3, things might be different.
Or 5v5. I would do 5v5. And screw your idiotic ban list.
I don’t know which game you guys are playing. I play against these builds everyday, and I don’t see anything OP about it (outside of Warrior).
meanwhile im waiting for archage and black desert online to come… both free to play
gw2 is a dying game, thats why they implemented megaservers. those who remain plays this game are just poeple who are waiting for new games to come like me.
Incorrect. I love this game.
I voted no because I don’t like your “ban” list. It is stupid.
The majority of the people who read the forums would not be able to give an educated response to your question.
The correct answer is: Hammer/Longbow Warrior and Decap Turret Engineer. You don’t even need to consider a third option.
Or are you referring to this?
Strafe. /thread
to elaborate a little,
the auto attack moves extremely slowly, aslong as the lich isn’t right on top of you you can simply strafe out of its path.
source: i play power necro alot
^ What he said. Strafe.
Honestly, I don’t use the runes, but the only offender I see are Warriors, and that’s the truth.
I do not run rune of strength and I disagree with the OP. I think Elementalists are at a good spot with that rune. Without the rune, they will be weaker than they currently are which will put them at a disadvantage again.
Also, I do not play an Elementalist or a Warrior.
If you’re of the opinion an ele is fine with might stacks why not suggest buffing ele’s personal might stacking, while nerfing the runes?
^ this, we don´t need builds that stand and fall with a buff or nerf of a runeset.
Exactly! Nerf Rune of Strength. If Ele is too weak after that, there are plenty of ways to buff Ele the right way:
1) Make Signets instant
2) Make Glyphs cast faster and provide more defensive utilities
3) increase the base damage (not the total damage) of their skills by 20%, roughly equivalent to a few stacks of mightRelying on the OP-ness of a rune set just to be viable again is bad. Also, having to rely on almost 1000 more stats just to be viable again means Ele base damage is too low.
Honestly though, playing against all the professions… the only ones which feel “too strong” when running strength runes is Warrior. With that in mind, is the rune really the problem or is it Warriors?

Good point. Well I’m all for buffing Elementalists and nerfing the rune set then. Though, I feel like Warriors are the only offenders when rocking that runeset. I have no issues with any other profession which runs it.

If you’re referring to hotjoin… Hotjoin is just hotjoin, people jump in those matches to try out specs, mess around or finish up their dailies.
If you want something more serious with rules, join solo queue.
Regards,
Jasher.
This would be abused. My suggestion, don’t start the match until both teams have a full roster and everyone clicks on ready.
I doubt making things visually better would do anything of major use, there needs to be more variety in gameplay. The main reason I quit playing was because the gameplay became stale and certain builds/team compositions will never become viable in game formats such as conquest.
Honestly, I would love to have variety as well. But making it visually appealing would also add in a positive way. At least in my opinion.
I don’t do tpvp on other professions because I feel like I don’t know them well enough and I would be dragging my team down. Profession-bound MMR would be great.
I think the profession icon should also be reflected on the leaderboards.
Yeah an MVP thing would be nice, encouraging people to play well. Sortable lsst for basic statistics, certainly an improvement over a flat score.
An MVP would be awesome.
Only problem with an MVP mechanic, is that, like the “points” mechanic now it teaches some people to play towards whatever formula calculates the MVP role, even if its not what the team needs. If this is implemented, so many new players who play some 1v1 spec and fight off-node all game will think they are playing well, b/c they earned more points, or are “team MVP,” even if they are the weakest link on the team.
90% of the time, the team MVP in soloQ is the one guy who bunkered mid all game and got the fewest points, and not the guy who pushed far all game, constantly died, and got the team steamrolled in teamfights – but hey – he had a few kills and had the HIGH SCORE. He must be playing well, right?
The difference is that in the proposed system there wouldn’t be a “score” much less a “high score”… there will just be data. Statistics. It’s for the intelligent player to look at the data and decide who the MVP will be.
We agree the scoreboard needs an overhaul at some point. What kind of functionality would you want to see on the scoreboard? Stat comparison between teams? Between players? What you scored best in?
The comparison would be between players (in sw:tor you have the option as you can see on the tabs below the scoreboard [all, allies, enemies]). I also like the idea of an MVP vote option like in SW:TOR. You can’t vote for yourself. You have to vote for someone else on the team, and they get a bonus for the MVP placement.

I very rarely agree with bhagwad.4281. As a matter of fact, I think I’ve only agreed with him once, and it involved the removal of the double loading screen when logging back into a PvP match after a disconnect.
This is also one of his many opinions I strongly disagree with.
Shut up and hire Jasher!
How much would they pay me?
If I recall correctly, you live in Jamica as a project manager, which is very good income considering the fact that the average rent for 1 person is around $300.
I don’t think ArenaNet would be able to outpay that.
lol
Aeroxie-woxie!
Nothing would be more frustrating to go into a game, lose because somebody is new and get nothing for your effort.
That’s the mentality we should shake out of. You don’t get nothing, you get experience. You don’t get a silver medal for second place when there are only two contestants. You lost, dust yourself off, learn from your mistakes and try again to win your reward.
I’m currently looking into possibilities for hosting something like this.
FANTASTIC! YAY!
Would be an awesome update. This current point system complete bs.
Yeah. I agree. Though I wonder how difficult it would be to implement.
Separate the MMR per builds please , thank you.
I wouldn’t want this.
Why not? There should be a list of builds per person that you are comfortable with. So it will never affect MMR from trying to play a random troll build in Solo Q.
Exemple: my usual builds are GS/LB warr and D/P thief but if try to change I will not play at maximum potential unless I pick even easier builds like hambow or P/D SA thief.
So instead of per class you could choose like 3 builds that you have mastered.
Because every balance patch there is a chance my ranking would start over.
Separate the MMR per builds please , thank you.
I wouldn’t want this.
Just send gold to me. I charge 100% commission fee on all bets.
LOL… man seriously. I wish someone would start this up. It would be great.
If you lose, you win nothing.
What will losers get? They will have a decrease in their position on the leaderboards.
Then you can allow a slight buff in rewards to the winners.
Keep the rewards in hotjoins as they are now. This will encourage people to stay in that nesting pod and learn how to win.
The reason why people are coming to SoloQ is because they don’t have a choice, after 2 tracks you’re capped and forced to move to SoloQ.
Then I advocate that they remove the cap.
+1 they should do this, however they should also fix MMR so that new players start lower and it doesn’t change as much after matches. That way if you wanted to ‘smurf’ your way to rank #1 you would still have to win at least 50-60 games, not some 12-0 crap.
Great point.
Because…. provided you’re solid with positioning/CC, the first 20-30 matches on skyhammer are fun.
Then it becomes very irritating, very very fast.
I can’t think of one skyhammer match I found fun. Not one.
I’ve always believed that it should have the skill name whenever you mouseover on the death icons. What do you guys think?
Voz, I remember you. You were good. You were very good. Nevertheless, the harsh reality is that Vee Wee is the true #1 Engi and NA World First R80 – I was informed that she also possesses graphics so high definition that you will defecate in your garments.
That is all.
Shut up and hire Jasher!
How much would they pay me?
How about: make GW2’s implementation of conquest not the worst implementation of conquest?
What do you mean by worst implementation of conquest?
For the second point: Sorry your trainwreck builds don’t work on all the maps.
Bear, do not force me Murdock you.
I want Skyhammer in team queue for NA as well. I would have fun playing it.
Do not fuel my rage…

So I found out from this article that Tyler Bearce and Darrin Claypool are not necessarily the ones to be blamed for the atrocity that is skyhammer (even though they designed it)… but the blame falls on the playtesters.
-
Apparently…
“We’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback from our playtesters,” Bearce says. “Pretty much as soon as we threw this in for testing, our internal playtesters said, ‘This has to go on Live.’”
Claypool adds, “People who have played this map already have been more excited about playing PvP. Skyhammer has a really dynamic, old-school feel; like a Quake map.”
-
I shall now begin the witch hunt to find these “playtesters”…
-
On a serious note, I got skyhammer tonight. I hate it so much. I hate it so very much. I just bought a new laptop and I felt like punching the screen in every time I got pulled or knocked off the map.
